Realistic or Modern GLASS [A Modern Superhuman Story]

Dante:
Dante was resting on the roof tops by the shipyards just playing on his phone when he thought he heard something, however he drowned it out instead thinking it was just a bug or something past. This was until the ship came in and he saw the others going towards it when he realized that it was probably Christine calling to help unload it. So he went to a nearby ladder and climbed down and headed to the ship where he saw everyone going to when he heard they were going to speak with the Captain for a second. This should be interesting. he thought to himself as he quickly followed behind them while he turned off his phone and put it inside his pocket.

Johnathan Scott
Location: GLASS HQ to Docks
Seemed the debrief would have to wait. Reading the text and responding with a swift and concise "Roger that, luck won't necessary sir" Johnathan took the elevator down to the HQ's garage. Rushing inside his car, outfitted with some gadgetry from GLASS, Johnathan speeds off to the location. It felt good to be back behind the wheel of his car, especially driving along these familiar roads. He had been in the town for a few months now. These skylines and crowd streets had become family as his family home. As he approached the area, Johnathan hid his car just a bit away from the docks. Going in the back Johnthan pulls out a rifle from a hidden compartment. He decides the nighttime would keep him covered enough to keep the suit.

Using his eyes to see through the many crates about the docks to find the over units. Finding someone looking around, taking pictures, Johnathan gambled that this was Stas. Creeping over he sees his fellow X. Going over to the corner he whispers "Suprised you haven't blown these guys up yet, then again I guess carrying explosive your pocket could lead to a rather explosive out" as he uses his x-ray vision to look at the number of assailants. "So do we know who these guys are yet".

Joey smirked, walking confidently through the alley, until he reached a street. There, he saw a supermarket, and he glanced down at his wallet. "Can't use This anymore..." he muttered, ripping up his credit card. Now he looked through, finding about 25 bucks worth of cash. "Jeez, did Not think this through thoroughly.." he muttered, realizing just how difficult it would really be to live off the Grid. Not quite the same as from the movies, but he stepped into the store.

Yolya Markov
Hale's Homeless Institution
Yolya woke up from a harsh nap. He was laying in an uncomfortable bed in the homeless shelter. Next to him was Rico, reading his Bible. Yolya looked next to him and saw his Bible on a small desk, along with food the Homeless managers gave to him before he went to sleep. Yolya sat up from his bed and began to eat. It was a cold salad and a sandwich. It would taste disgusting to anyone, but Yolya. After all, this is what he ate for most of his life. Yolya stood up, took his Bible and staff, and walked out of the bedroom. The bedroom was simply filled with as many people possible. It's as if no one would ever seemed to help out someone in need.

Yolya walked onto the streets and began to walk past a random Starbucks.

Connor Morton "Booster"

Connor rolled his eyes visibly. It was his own fault, really - he probably shouldn't have stood somewhere everyone could see him.

"On it, boss!" he shouted back, giving her a distant thumbs-up.

Yawning and stretching briefly, he slipped on a beanie, and stepped outside. It wasn't really cold, but covering his head made him feel better, for whatever reason. Maybe it was just a habit. He walked out into the small crowd of Forks, who were all waiting for the same thing - the shipment. He wasn't personally privy to what the shipment actually was, but he trusted the people here enough to be sure that it'd benefity all of them.

He merely watched with the others as the ship pulled in. He'd seen quite a few since he'd been here, and like all the ships that pulled through here, there was obviously nothing special about it on the outside. But what he wasn't expecting was to be called up by Christine herself.

He gave her a silent nod in response, moving up to stand behind her along with Ella. Ugh... Ella. He didn't have anything against her personally, but, well... she was just kinda creepy. He enjoyed abusing his powers as much as the next person, but she just seemed.. weird about it. Like she got a rush out of it or something.

Black coffee? Gross. She'd have to put some sweetener and milk in the drink before she could drink it. But the gesture still made her smile and utter a thank you to Yvelle. A small static shock hit her mind again just as she guessed Tilly's name. Another different in the busy coffee shop? Either this was a popular place for their kind or her skills really were improving.

Just as she was about to finish introducing herself, she felt her phone buzz. Right on cue, Yvelle sounded the orders from GLASS. A small wave of disappointment slid through her; she'd lost such a nice day of reading, and was hoping to take a break from her training. But as quickly as the feeling came on, it was replaced with a sense of responsibility and dedication. She took a quick sip of the horrifyingly bitter and hot drink. She'd need the caffeine.

“You got it,” she said bravely, falling into position beside Ali.

James Smith, Hale Outskirts
James was lying on the roof of a four-story apartment building, staring at the sky. He wondered what the rest of STONE was up to. Probably not much. Theft or a bombing or something. He was unlike them, he taught a different school of thought. They were like comic book villains, stealing and killing for fun, while he, he cared. He was fighting the good fight, against enemy combatants. Targeting civilians was horrid, and something he had sworn to do in only the most dire of situations. There were other STONE who thought like them, and he sometimes considered splitting off and forming his own group. But no, that'd be impossible, alone they'd be crushed by GLASS. Suddenly, he heard footsteps below. Peering over the side of the building, he saw a team of armed GLASS operatives. One of them noticed him, and they aimed their weapons up at him.
"Who are you!" One demanded
"Greetings, gentlemen," he was cut off
"Hey wait!" One got something on an earpiece "Apparently there is a new mandatory curfew in this area!"
"I don't hear anything?" another demanded. It was obvious the first guard had gotten nothing, and was trying very poorly to just justify shooting James on the spot.
"It's coming in right now." The still obviously lying GLASS agent spoke
"I don't... oh I get it." The other finally caught on "yeah, a new curfew." With that, the three GLASS opened fire on James, who, rolling to the side and landing on the building, rushed into action. Deciding use of his power was unneccesary, he grabbed the waiting SCAR next to him and, leaning back over the side, opened fire. He fired five shots, and all three GLASS were down, having been hit center mass. Wasting no time, James grabbed his communicator, speaking to the STONE at the docks. "Be aware, I have taken hard contact in the West Factory District, three hostiles engaged and destroyed, unsure if they got word out."

Doctor Gareth
Gareth rolled his eyes at Stas, who he had reconsider from a training class 6 years ago, whil tucking the flask away in his breast pocket. "Why don't you just shut the hell up." He was quite sure both men would either be silent the entire time, or bite at each other's throats. And luckily it was the second. The car ride was brief and quiet, pefectly acceptable with the current company he had. And eventually they arrived at their destination, which appeared to be the STONE docks, not quite surprising either. Both men got out of the car, though Gareth's legs made the process quite difficult and less smooth as the younger man. Making his way to the drivers side, he gently leaned against the car, and darted his eyes over to Stas's phone. Fucking Unwin. "I'm quite capable of handling myself just so you know, Stas. I'm a grown man for Christ sake, not a fucking child." Crossing his arms while cursing under his breath, he stared at the sodden concrete.
Eventually some of the backup he had anticipated from experience arrived, Johnathan Scott was a decent man, better than the tool he was currently with. Of course he kept those thoughts private, instead focusing on preparing his rounds for the upcoming shootout.

Alexis Morton "Pura"

Alexis rested against the side of a building, having ran the last couple of hundred meters. Just five minutes ago, she'd been milling around in her office in the GLASS. But, duty calls, and all that.

She looked around, looking for the X ranks that would likely be nearby. Of course, they wouldn't be easy to find, being specially trained and all that, but knowing they were here somewhere helped. Well, it wasn't strictly important that they were all in the same place - as long as they all knew who was here, it didn't make a difference. And so, she eventually gave up hope of finding them right now, and simply texted out her position.

Of course, as soon as she did so, she caught sight of the group overwatching the docks. Rolling her eyes, she made her way over to them, making sure to keep out of sight of anyone around the docks. Silently slotting herself into the small squad that was already there, she just awaited further orders. She didn't much like getting involved in these kind of missions, but she was going to need the experience if she wanted to make a difference in this organisation.

He spooked up from the 2 sneaking up on him. Immediately trying to explain the situation and where everyone was, but was cut short by the Gareths's comment. Stas blew him off before contemplating what he just said and turned "Wait what did i do?, I know that Doc, Then again.... diminishing returns"(Thinking the last 4 words to himself) He whispered. He turned back to the deal. "I would blow them up.... but i have direct orders from command not too. but since you guys are here, i guess that we should take them out" He whispers to his comrades. After much consideration he pulls his Markov from his belt.

The deal however, quickly went sour. Something about counterfeit weapons. yelling and screaming took place in the background. Before a STONE rookie's shot one of the dealers and immediately got filled with lead.

Ella Ashton

"Ugh, why even do this 'dock worker' bullshit?" She asked as she followed Christine, making the quote sign with her fingers. She did lower her voice though. "GLASS will find out eventually, if not now then after we stole it. It'd be better to just wait for the shipment, bust it out of here guns blazing, then leave before GLASS can react."

She really hated this the most, missions where they have to infiltrate or be undercover or some other shit like that. It's so slow, and boring, and dull, and boring, and stupid, and boring, and she can't even kill someone since their covers will be blown. As if anyone will believe that an 18 year old girl like me would even work at a dock like this. Yeah right. Well, she could always lord over her squits after she gets home, so that's a plus.

"They're probably watching us right now, guns to our heads and stuff like that." She said, saying it nothing more that to unnerve them. Hey, it wasn't distracting them, it might make them more alert. Well, it turned out it was actually true when James informed th about hostiles through their communicators. "See?! I'm always right!"

Johnathan merely nodded to Doctor Gareths presence. He had quite a lot of respect for the man, both from his won personal history as the man remind him of his late uncle in many ways, and due to the man's own attune towards training and life in general. He could also respect the man fro wanting to go on in life despite his accident. While readying his weapon, he sees another person approach. While keeping his weapon close to hand just in case, he sees its an agent. "Pura isn't it, well welcome to our little party" he whispers before hearing gunfire. Peaking around the corner he sees that two fo the assailants are down. "Well I do love it when they do our work for us, shouldn't we at least capture a few of them" he whispers while raising his weapon ready to blow on of the assailant's knee caps clean off.

Joey stepped out of the door, the last of his money spent. "Wow, this sucks" he stated honestly, staring down at his bag of food, it was probably enough to last for the rest of the day. "I hate this Already" he paused and glanced down the street, half considering just giving up, joining GLASS. "And live under a strict regime like that? No thanks" He stopped speaking, just in time to hear the announcement. This was it, his footsteps slowed as he approached an alley, then found a corner to sit and eat.
This was the End of the Line.

Meanwhile, on the other end of the city...

A lone C-rank GLASS agent patrolled the single hallway outside the room he'd been assigned to guard. Ugh, what a drag. This was really just busy work, corparate bloat - no-one really cared about what was in that room anyway. Still, a few more rounds of this and a little bit of work, and maybe he'd be able to get into some field missions.

He paced up and down the hallway yet again.

And then he heard something. A slight shuffle from above.

He straight up, just see an air vent directly above him. Nothing unusual there, right? He stood there for a moment, just to ease his own slight paranoia, listening for any other sounds. And of course, nothing. Just as he'd expected - he was just getting jumpy after---

A single squit fell out of the vent, landing on his cheek. He raised a hand to it, plucking it off his face and squashing it between his fingers. Stupid bugs, they got everywhere nowadays...

The latch on the vent suddenly burst open, swinging free, and billions of squits came flooding out. The agent didn't even have a chance to react, but alone cry for help. The squits soundlessly filled his lungs, cutting his oxygen supply and suffocating him. He flailed around silently for a moment, before dropping to the ground and being pinned down simply by the weight of the tiny creatures swarming him. Within a few minutes, he'd stopped moving entirely.

"The Swarm"

After the deed was done, the Swarm emptied out of his lungs and coagulated as one, knee-high mass of organics. He hadn't wanted to kill that agent, but it had to be done - he couldn't have witnesses, now could he? Didn't want to spread mass panic - not just yet anyway.

He started moving towards the now unguarded room. Locked door? No problem. He flattened himself out, individual squits scuttering under the door effortlessly. Once on the other side, he clumped back up again, using his billions of eyes to survey the area. The room, although not that big, was full of rows and rows of marked cabinets. All it had to was find the right one, something that was easy when you have billions of hands to help check.

And so, within a few minutes, he'd found what he was looking for - a hefty electric motor hinge. There were dozens of them in the cabinet, and they were far from the most expensive objects in here. But he only needed one for now. He lifted it up and out, pulling it in, and it soon disappeared into ihis body mass. Now he just had to leave, the same way he'd gotten in.

He moved back out to the hallway, and propped up the agent's body. Using it as a support, he lofted himself back up into the vent, still carrying the all-important motor with him. The body fell back to the ground after he was done, easily sliding out through the vent system without a trace.

[This isn't really an interaction-type of thing, just setting some stuff up for the future.]

Yolya sat in his favorite place in the whole city; the Woodfield District Park. It was the most relaxing to his mind. It was like a getaway from the war in the city. He loved during the day where children came to play in the playground, especially his first cousin once removed, Handler Walksun.

Handler Walksun was his aunt's grandchild. He was what other kids call him; a nerd, a geek, a loser. He wishes to help Handler become mindful like himself. However, Handler wants to join STONE and fight against GLASS. Yolya was part of STONE, and he says STONE and GLASS are equally as bad. Well, almost. At least STONE is fighting for freedom, yet no one ever thought to use peace. He tried to convince STONE to use peace but they always go back to violence. What good is it?

Yolya thought of these questions when sitting on the bench. However, his thoughts were distracted by a fight going on top of a roof.

Marcus Reston (Onboard)
"Hush, child." Christine surveyed the area very quickly and shot Marcus a hand signal. "Ella, take Booster and Dante, and deal with the hostiles in the area. I'll deal with the captain and the shipment in the meanwhile. Good luck to you three. With Booster, this should be over in a heartbeat." Christine touched the ground and leaped into the air. However, the simple action of touching the ground and firing off telekinetic energy magnified her jump tens of times, blasting Christine into the air at breakneck speeds. However, she landed gracefully on the deck of the ship next to Reston. "Good to see you, Chris."

[The following post takes place during the course of the subsequent and inevitable fight of STONE vs GLASS. I may not respond until those events are over.]

Location: The Ship
Captain Stein Stackmann
Christine Winters
Marcus Reston
"Here we are..." The captain meticulously vacated the entire ship, telling his crew to leave him be with his "shining star" for a few more minutes. "Jus' wanna say g'bye to the ol' girl for the night, ye?" Stackmann gave a harsh laugh. The man was huge. He stood at a massive six foot six, had large hands, and was well over three hundred pounds. Stackmann looked over to the two figures approaching the captain quarters of the ship. Christine and Marcus. "What the hell? M-Miss Winters? Mister Reston? What's the meaning of this?! The part of the deal was that you wouldn't get on the ship!"

No response from the two figures. Stackmann locked the doors and edged to the back of the ship, sweat dripping down his face. "Get off my baby!"

"Christine, I'm gonna need this open." Marcus pointed to the door. Christine nodded and took a firm stance. With one swift jab at the door, her hand crashed through the metal. She pulled the entire door out, leaving a gaping hole for Marcus to run in. "Captain."

As Christine said the words, Marcus thrusted his hands out. A dome of air formed over the captain's head, causing him to begin to choke on his own breath. "Hhh..." The desperate, stifled cries for life-sustaining oxygen were all in vain, as the captain was a heavy smoker. His lungs couldn't outpower Marcus's wind manipulation like the normal ones would. "The deal was you would do this silently. GLASS operatives know of us, and I think it's only because you tipped off Mr. Cardinal." Christine's piercing blue gaze met the captain's green eyes that were currently bugged out of his head. Christine took in a deep breath and walked into the same dome of air as the suffocating captain. She reached out and grabbed the captain by the face. The captain began to scream as he felt himself go unconscious; his lungs felt like fire, and now his heart felt like it was going to-

CRRRCK...SPLAT!

. . .

Marcus stared at Christine in blatant shock.
"That...was...really messy." He covered his mouth as if he was going to puke and rushed out the door. However, Christine didn't do as much as flinch at the mess she made. She simply wiped the blood from her own face and let out a sigh as she exited the ship.

After the subsequently short walk to meeting up with Johnathan Scott, Alexis Morton, Dr. Gareth, and Stas, Yvelle and Shaun showed the group. Matilda and Ali were front and center. "Matilda Holms and Alison Reynolds here along with us. Anything need to be done?"

Dante:
Dante looked at Christine as she gave him the orders and followed as such. He got left the ship and started to look around for some intruders along with Booster and Ella. We should probably go by our code names instead of our real ones just in case. Booster you should pair up with Cinder to give her a boost in power instead of me since I don't plan on using mine. he said while grabbing a sub machine gun he had taped to his back just to be safe. He continued searching around for the trespassers as they followed beside him. Look around do you see anyone? he asked looking at Cinder.

Connor Morton "Booster"

Connor looked around him, searching for any GLASS agents, but it proved to unnecessary. Almost immediately after Christine and Dante had spoken, the sounds of gunfire and combat could be heard nearby, and sure enough, some of them appeared from around the corner, taking out a Scrub or two. This was it - no turning back now.m

He turned to Ella. She did creep him out a bit, that much was true, but right now, her control over her powers was something they were going to need - from the sound of things, there was quite a lot of threats incoming.

"You ready for this?"

He held out his hand to her, palm facing upwards. His body shifted into a slightly ethereal form, a weak blue energy surrounding him. As soon as she touched him, the two of them would merge, boosting her powers and hopefully giving them the edge they needed to see this through.

Ella Ashton

It was lucky that Ella had already worn her gasmask when GLASS operatives attacked them. Unlike some of the members of STONE who are no one important, Ella is the daughter of two business magnates. She would immediately be discovered if her face was seen. Of course her parents knows she's Cinder, but who would they tell? What, would they just tell GLASS that their daughter was a member of STONE? Hah! As if! That would ruin them, and obviously cared more about their business than about her.

"Hey! Better put this on." She said as she threw a pair of goggles in Dante's direction. Her original plan was to just cover the area above them, just giving them enough room to walk without being hindered by tw smoke. She figured that if GLASS had spotted them, they'd probably somewhere with a good vantage point. Of course it's possible that they have a guy who can see through walls, but there's nothing she can do about that. By putting a smokescreen above them, it would hide them from above while allowing them to maneuver below.

However, now that Booster has boosted her powers, she can take things up a notch. Without waiting to see if Dante had put on his goggles, Cinder started to create smoke and ash. It started to violently swirl, expanding and expanding until the majority of the docks was covered in a storm of ash and smoke. "Oh man, this really hits the spot." She said as she fired a barrage of ash bullets at anyone not on their side.

Ji-Hae sighed as the boy got annoyed and mumbled something under his breath.
'Life is unfair kid. ' she thought, watching him walk away. She wanted to slap him because of his childish attitude when he shoved his companion with his shoulder. Lee Ji-Hae watched as the Squits continued eating the sandwich. She smiled very little when she was brought her coffe, only nodding at the girls words.

Lee drank the coffee quickly, dispite the burning feeling in her throats and mouth. She showed no sign of the heat bothering her, as she stood up and tossed what remained of her food and the cup away. She picked up her phone same time she heard others going off. 'Backup? Hmmm. This will be fun~~' she smirked. She pulled her hood up, then pulled her face mask over her mouth and nose. All black. The only thing you could see skin wise was her eyes and top of her cheeks.

She put her phone in her back pocket, it probably would get broken too, but she didn't mind. She pulled a lid out and with grace and skill she put it on the jar. Sealing the Suit inside, but allowing air flow to keep them alive. 'Can't have you running around and getting lost or dead now can I?' She thought, making the reminder to come here and pick them up later.

She walked out of the shop, bypassing the others. She quickened her pace into a jog, leaping up over any obstacle.

The fighting soon started as she feel into position naturally. Ash and snake feeling the area. So there was no purpose of shutting down the lights. However, if she could get to the boat and work from there , it would be a different story. She couldn't show her power just yet, she needed to judge the enemies. She bullets began to spray in there direction, causing her to focus a lot more on the ash than she would have liked.

"Fine then. Play it that way."

She felt electricity ripple across her skin, she turned to her team. "What's the plan?" She asked coldly. She wouldn't mind going on her own and fighting with her power. She kept her sparks contained so they weren't visible, but anyone would be smart enough not to touch her.

Yolya replied; "Hey James," James spoke again. Yolya replied again; "What use will have if I was there? I try to convince them to use nonviolence, but they always go back to fighting. It seems foolish to me." James spoke again. "Alright, let's go. We can talk on the way."

Small Pennsylvania District
On the Road to the Seaport

The area was calm and quiet. A little too calm and quiet. Small Pennsylvania was the oldest district in Hale. At least, it looked the oldest. Barely any crime happens in this part of the city. However, the district next door, The Valley, was filled to the brim with crime. This is where Yolya and Rick got assaulted.

As Yolya and James walked on the road heading to the seaport, monitors placed by GLASS on rooftops were recording their every action. Now, reinforcements were on their way to deal with the rebel scum.

Yolya stroked up a conversation. "Do you think the people at STONE or GLASS feel guilty for their actions?"

He picked up the knocked out STONE member and loaded him up into a SUV that the others used to get there. The backup. Tying him up in the seatbelts and ziptying his hands. He went back to the docks to see no one in the immediate area. "That's everyone..." He holstered his pistol. All people involved in the deal were either dead or ran away at this point.

He walked over to the edge of the Dock. He didn't trust alot of people in GLASS, most of them were too loyal for his taste. Loyalty plus stupidty equals bad times. And if something does happen he doesn't want to be stuck in GLASS.

He has heard multiple reports if activity here. Mostly assuming they were getting supplies. He walked back to the others, including the doctor and asked the doc, "Can I talk to you for a moment? In private preferably." Stas seemed semi worried, but was keeping his cool.
