Fantasy Generic Fantasy RP (CLOSED)

"Well, in the mean time, let's get you back to the inn, before someone comes back here." She stood up and took his hand in the clingy, childish manner she had recently adopted in her unsurity.

Callum had accepted the hold fully, walked close by Emmalia as they left the house. "I can't wait to see what happens. Maybe this'll be for the good? It said you might have some powers taken away while others would stay. Imagine having all the negative aspects being taken away?"

"All the negatives? That would be amazing. You never said it wouldn't take everything away. Where did you get the recipe anyway...?" Em wasn't suspicious of anything, she was simply curious.

"I'll... Let you know in a bit. After we figure out the side effects." Callum didn't feel the need to hide anything, but didn't feel like having the whole argument of trusting Anders thoughts to work. So, he decided to wait a bit on telling her.

By the time they made it back to their room, Em was rather weak and very tired. She had thrown up a bit of the blood she had recently drunk, and required Cal's guidance just getting to their room.

Callum was currently regretting giving her the potion, but figured it was just the catalyst working inside of her. He helped guide Emmalia to the bed and set her down. "Are you alright love?"

Em would have shaken her head, but it would have made her sick. "No. 'M dizzy and 'm tired." Her voice was very quiet. It felt like she was dissociation from her body. If it weren't for the fact that she could see her hands, she wouldn't know where they were. Feeling more weary every second, she reached out and pulled on his arm do he would lay beside her, then curled up against him with her face in the crook of his neck, and fell asleep. Callum could already feel the warmth from a slight fever - normally, she gave off little to no body heat.

Part of Callum was worried sick - she had never been this warm before, and it was obviously upsetting her. On the bright side, however, it could be the return of her natural body heat most humans had. Either way, he remained as still as possible and hoped Emmalia would feel better when she woke.

Emmalia slept hard. Even if he had moved, she wouldn't have woken up. She slept until late at night, when she quietly groaned and brought a hand to her head, meekly saying, "Cal...?"

Callum had been awake the whole time, never once daring to close his eyes for more than a few seconds, just in case she needed him right in the instant. "Yes, love?" He asked in the same, quiet tone.

She nuzzled against his collarbone, then said, "You're cold... you're usually warmer. Are you okay?" What she didn't know was that she simply wasn't used to having a normal body temperature herself.

Cal almost chuckled at her question. "No, love. You're just getting warmer is all. Either you're sick or you're regaining your body heat again." He spoke softly and kissed the top of her head.

Callum raised an eyebrow and was taken back by the statement. "Of course not, I'd never leave you." He said. "Why would you think I would?"

"I don't know. You disappeared to make that potion. I just want to know you'll be here if I fall asleep again." She opened her eyes and looked up at him.

Cal looked down into her eyes, only bringing her body closer to his. "Don't worry Em, I'll still be here. I promise you, I won't move an inch."

Em smiled because she fully believed him, and fell asleep seconds kater, her body progressively warming in Callum's arms to a normal temperature. When she woke an hour later, she had a horrible headache that made her thoughts hazy.

Callum had tried to aid her as much as he could by providing water, back rubs and kisses. He didn't like Emmalia being in pain, and hoped it would subside soon.

Finally at some point her headache cleared. Her first clear thought as food, which she could smell being cooked downstairs. Like usual, she desperately wanted it but couldn't have it, and told Cal as much.

Cal was rather interested in the way she'd be able to digest food. It could hurt too much to try, he thought. "How about we go and try maybe just a bite or two?" He suggested.

Em thought for a minute. If she really could eat something after all this time, what did she want first? "A sweet pastry," she requested. She really hoped that the potion had worked enough for her to eat something at least.

Callum nodded with a bright smile, confident it'll work. "I'll be back soon love. Don't move an inch." He instructed before going downstairs and looking for a bakery shop. He got the most delicious looking pastry he could find before bringing it back to her.

Em waited patiently, and when he returned, she grinned widely. She sat on the bed with her legs crossed, and took the pastry in both hands, then took a hesitant bite. To her amazement, it tasted wonderful, not ashy and flavorless like she had become used to. Immediately she gobbled down the rest of the pastry, then laughed and said, "Cal! I can eat!"
