Em just vacant lyrics nodded and followed his lead. She had her hands on his arm, clinging to him so he could guide her through her daze. Deep down, she felt an urge to run and hide somewhere far away.

Callum walked Emmalia carefully back towards the village before stopping. "Would you rather stay out here where it's more secluded, or back to the Inn?" He asked, gently running his hand over her back.

Em seemed to pause to think for a moment, then said, "I don't know. We're vulnerable out here... you might get chilled, too." Still just working through her thoughts, she tilted her head up to look at him.

"It's up to you love." Callum spoke quietly, but made sure to bring enough presence to show he was there to support and hold onto her until she was ready to carry on.

Callum nodded slowly and walked with Emmalia at her pace. It wasn't long until they reached the room, and he set her down on the bed. "You should get some rest dearest, I'm sure you'll be better in the morning."

Em nodded slowly, and took his hand to pull him down to her side so he would sit next to her, then took off her armor and laid on her side facing him.

Callum mimicked her movements, getting out of his armor and laying on his side facing Emmalia. He made sure to lay close by Emmalia, his arms wrapping around her. "How are you feeling?" He asked quietly.

Em didn't meet his eyes and stayed silent in thought, then murmured, "I don't know." Louder, she said, "I know he's dead. But being in there again, remembering those things, it's... it's like no matter what I have done, and that he is dead, I'm still weak, vulnerable... scared."

"You don't need to bottle it up anymore, Em." Callum spoke quietly but firmly, to show he was there for her. "It's my job now. To help you carry your burdens. Not to sound selfish but... Your insecurities and fears are mine too. We're in it together."

She nodded slightly and pressed her head against his chest. "Seeing that place, it threw me into utter panic but I felt like I couldn't move, I couldn't even think. I'm still so dazed, those thoughts keep intruding and I still feel paranoid and I can't stop.

"It's okay, I understand, Love." He spoke and ran a hand through her hair gently and methodically. "Sleeping might help you forget about it, Em. If you wake up at all during the night, don't hesitate to wake me too and we can stay up together."

Emmalia nodded a bit and pulled up some blankets so she felt even more hidden and protected. She liked curling up with him because she was just small enough compared to him that she felt like she was hidden from the world.

Callum leaned in and kissed the top of her head gently. "I love you, Emmalia. Sweet dreams." He spoke, bringing her in close to give her even more metephorical and literal protection.

Callum waited an hour at least before quietly getting up from the bed. He made sure Emmalia was asleep before reaching into his pack and pulling out a few of Anders old books. Skimming through them, he found horrible depictions and descriptions of the things he had done to his fiance. After reading a passage perticular that stood out to him, he set aside the books, climbed back into bed, and slept until the next morning.

Em woke at dawn, the moment a hint of light showed through the shutters. She tucked her head in and pressed it in against Callum's chest in both a sign of affection and a wish to sleep longer.

Callum had been awake since we'll before daybreak. He hadn't been able to sleep well after the horrific nightmare of Anders journals. The notes he had read were gruesome, disgusting and insane - except for Anders thought on a cure. "Time to get up, Emmalia."

Em quietly groaned, "Why?" They didn't have a schedule, she didn't want to face the day. She hadn't slept the most soundly either, with strange dreams that would have been nightmares had Cal's presence not comforted her subconsciously, though she knew she wouldn't be able to go back to sleep anyway.

"We should at least get up to get something to eat." He suggested. It was a front to attempt to grab materials listed in Anders notes, and he wished to see if the process worked. Ander seemed to believe so. He would let Emmalia know, after he was certain it was an obtainable option. He didn't want to get her hopes up.

Normally she would remind him that it was just him who ate breakfast, but their hunt had been interrupted yesterday, and she was hungry also, but she didn't want to hunt. In fact, she didn't want to leave the inn, which seemed safer and more secluded than the outside world.

Callum slowly rose from the warmth of Emmalia and the sheets as he began to redress in his armor. "Come on Em, we should get you something to eat."

Em looked up at him with wide eyes like a hunting dog that didn't want to hunt, but had to obey it's master. She didn't say anything as she got out of bed and started putting armor on. When they were done, she moved right to his side and kissed his cheek, then held his hand.

Callum smiled softly at the gesture, and didn't leave the room before returning Emmalia's kiss with his own, slightly more passionate one. "I love you Emmalia, with all my heart." He spoke as he left the room with her.
