"I'm perfectly fine." Callum told her with a smile. Emmalia shouldn't be worried about his distrust in Daniel and his companions, she considered them friends. He found it awfully hard to hide it when speaking to them, though."

"Alright.... Its's just that you were a bit rude to Daniel once or twice, which isn't like you." Em still didn't fully believe that nothing was wrong.

"I'm completely fine. I'm just a little bit on edge ever since the Order took us." Callum stood tall and pulled Emmalia into an embrace. "I'm very protective over my wife, if you haven't noticed yet."

Em smiled and returned the hug. "I have, and it's nice to be worried over." When they separated, she picked up the cat again. "I think I'll call her... Willow. I like that. What do you think?"

"Willow. Just as long as she's not intrusive, I think she'll make a fine addition to the Cross family." He flashed a smile, although it quickly faded, thinking about the children they'd never have. "We should get our things prepared.' He said quietly and turned to leave.

Em's smile faded too. Not only did he not seem very happy about Willow, she knew he was thinking about the fact that they couldn't have kids, which was, really, her fault. Even if they went over it a hundred times, and even if Em had never really wanted kids, she still felt awful. She set Willow on the couch and walked up being Cal, silently pulling him into a hug and resting her head between his shoulder blades.

Callum stopped moving, sighing heavily as he enjoyed the warmth of her body pressing against his. "I love you, my Queen." He said, putting his hand over hers. He could tell she was thinking of the same thing he was, and although he enjoyed the cats presence, it illuminated the underlining problem Callum had in the back of his mind - he always wanted a blood relative to carry on the lineage, one of his own sons or daughters.

"I love you too, Cal." Em squeezed him slightly, then let go and walked around to face him. They had talked this over multiple times, there really wasn't anything left to say. She gave him a kiss, then took his hand. "Come on, we can go pack together."

Callum nodded in agreement, walking with her slowly to their room. "How long do you expect to be there for?" He asked. "I know ladies love to explore the markets of the Kings city, the extravagant prices and eloquent people." He joked with a small smile, trying to change their thought topic.

Em chuckled. "I wouldn't mind looking around the markets actually, as long as I have you by my side. Maybe I could get some new gloves, my currwnt pair are getting worn." Of course she meant the gloves she almost always wore because of her silver sensitivity. Her hand strayed up to touch the burn on her cheek - It was no more than along her cheekbone, but the scarring had set in, and it was still tender and red.

Callum nodded. "We'll make a date of it. Anything you desire can be yours." He smiled over at her, glad the air had lightened. "You and I can spend as long as we'd like there, it should be safe from the Order."

Em smiled and kissed his cheek. "You're too good to me. I love you." Once they got to their bedroom, they went about their usual packing routine. At one point, Em, feeling playful, tossed a shirt at him. "Whoops."

Callum's reflexes has him attempt to pull a sword he didn't have on the shirt, but after a second he realized what she did. With a smile, he said, "I think you dropped this mlady." He tossed the shirt back at her.

"I'll be sure to give you a punishment for humiliating a lord." He told her with a smile, pulling her close. "I have a whole slew of things on my mind."

Callum raised an eyebrow and pressed her down onto the bed. "Don't tell me what to try, I'll do what I feel you deserve." He began to kiss at her neck.

The next morning, Em and Cal met Daniel, Maven, and Conroy at the front gates. Daniel said, "so, if we make good time, it should take us just under a week to get there.

Callum nodded his head. "Are we taking separate carriages, or one?" He Asked, looking back at their feshly repaired carriage, which was refitted with a new door and repainted, ever since she escaped the Order.

Daniel chuckled and admitted, "I didn't think we were taking carriages at all, but if youd like to lend us one, that would be just fine. It would take a day or two off our journey at the least.

Callum nodded. "It'd be political suicide for a warlord to do anything less when entering the capital." He joked, mustering a servant to bring in another carriage for them.

"It works well for us, it would be nice to rest for a bit," Daniel said.

A few days later, they arrived in the capitol around noontime. Emmalia was asleep, dozing against Callum's chest.

Callum had half a mind to just make the carriage drive around for a bit. He never liked waking Emmalia, especially after the past months events, but he knew they should go in with the others. "Emmalia." He said quietly and shook her shoulder.

Em woke up with a bit of a jolt and looked up at him. Willow had been sleeping in her lap, and also looked up at Cal. Em glanced out the window, then said, "Oh, we're here?"

Callum nodded. "Even sooner than expected." He said, kissing Emmalia gently while they were somewhat in a private spot. He then stepped out and offered a hand to Emmalia.
