Fantasy Generic Fantasy RP (CLOSED)

Callum wasn't sure what to say. He wanted Em to get out everything she had been holding back from him, but he didn't want her to feel worthless for a second more. Instead of trying to fix the problem, for now, while she was still sobbing, he decided to console her. "It'll be okay." He said quietly. "Everything will be fine. I love you." He repeated the lines in her ear as he stroked her back gently.

Em sniffed and tried not to cry too hard as she let him hold her, taking comfort in his words as best she could. It was nice to just cry and not worry about him chastising her for not telling him sooner.

Callum listened to her weep, continuously giving her physical stability, and hoping he was helping to give her mental stability as well. "Is there anything you'd like to talk about?"

After a short time, Em got a bit of a hold on herself and sniffed, then quietly said, "Not particularly. I just feel so... I don't know. But I don't like it. Right now I feel weak and stupid, though, I know that."

You're neither weak nor stupid. You are Emmalia Cross, my wife, and the most talented woman in Trulane. How would that be for your travelling troupe? 'The Most Talented Woman In Trulane'." He attempted to lift up her spirits by mentioning a happy time from her past.

Em smiled slightly, then shook her head. "I wasn't dead then either. Things were a lot different. Now i'm a Lady and a huntress and your wife and yet... I feel like I can't handle everything going on in my head."

"Well... Maybe it's because you've been keeping them to yourself." His intention wasn't to scold her, but to offer a solution. "You know I'll always help you carry your burdens Emmalia."

"I know, but I feel so stupid, it's so hard to articulate, because there's nothing exactly... wrong. I just feel wrong." She did her best to explain it, but just ended up sniffing more and trying to wipe off her tears.

Callum stopped her hands, deciding to wipe her tears himself gently and slow. "It's okay to not know why you feel this way." He said, his thumb gliding along her cheek.

Em held perfectly still for him, then said softly, "No, because it means that there's nothing actually wrong so this shouldn't be affecting me at all... But it's just, my head is so loud, I don't know how to say it. And during the day I'm so lethargic and jut... empty."

It tore Callum up to hear the love of his life say such terrible things. Although he was saddened, he made sure not to show it, since she needed him to remain stoic. "I understand, Lily Pad. We'll just get through this one day at a time."

Em smiled slightly at his words. He really did seem to have her back. Quietly, she said, "Okay, but you can't let this detriment your health. You need to sleep too, and all of that."

"Your health is more important to me." Callum told her, making sure she knew he was perfectly willing to do it again. "I love you too much to hold back."

"But Cal, your health is just as important to me, too. Damage to you is damage to me, love." This needed to be established now, before things could get out of hand.

"Right so each time one of us gets in a bad way, the other one takes care of them until they're better, but then that one is in a bad way? No, Cal, Look, I will promise you anything as long as you promise to take care of yourself too." She was even willing to tell him how she felt honestly whenever he asked - he just had to promise to care for himself.

Callum sighed heavily, not wanting to give up any ground on their topic. But, after a long moment of thinking, he closed his eyes and breathed before speaking again. "Fine. But you're still my top priority. Don't expect me to hold my life above yours. You're the reason I'm even here right now. I owe everything to you."

Em nodded slightly - they had at least reached some kind of compromise. She kissed his collarbone lightly, not moving much besides that.

Callum remained still, holding her close and keeping his eyes closed. "Do you think you'll be able to go back to sleep?"

Em didn't answer for a little bit, then said, "I think so." She pressed her head against his chest and tried to get as comfortable as she possibly could.

Callum allowed her to get comfortable, and when she stopped squirming, put his arm around her. "Sleep well, love." He whispered, his eyes drooping a bit. Being able to sleep most nights with Emmalia had made him a bit less resilient to a lack of sleep.

Callum woke up the next morning, a bit later than he normally would on such a day. He gently shook Emmalia and whispered, "Morning love." If she wanted to try and sleep in a bit more, Cal wouldn't stop her, but he figured he might as well attempt to see if she wanted to get anything done.

Em opened her eyes and looked at him, then moved to wrap her arms around his neck and pull him close. She didn't want to do anything, and she didn't want him to leave her either.

Callum wasn't expecting her to pull him back down, but didn't resist. If she wanted him there, he'd happily remain by her side. "I have things to do love," He said with a chuckle, rather obvious in his tone he didn't care if he didn't get anything done.
