Fantasy Generic Fantasy RP (CLOSED)

Callum nodded, looking her over once more before deciding her answer was satisfactory. She seemed off, but he assumed it was from the hangover. So, he continued to eat in silence until he finished.

Once they finished eating, there wasn't much to do. Em didn't feel like reading a book or anything of that sort, so she just went to bed early - very early. If Cal want to join her, he could, or he could wait til night. In the mean time, she laid awake in bed, trying not to think back on the last week.

Callum was starting to feel a bit concerned for Emmalia, but didn't want her to feel like he was trying to regulate her life. If she was feeling less talkative today, that was fine. So, he went about, fulfilling his duties as warlord, signing documents, looking over commanders for his army. Time went by and soon night fell, with Callum following with it. He entered the bedroom slowly. "Are you awake, Emmalia?"

Callum smiled when he saw her, and closed the door behind him. He began discarding of his normal attire for something comfortable to sleep in. He then laid beside Emmalia in bed, giving her a soft kiss. "I hope you enjoyed your extra beauty sleep."

Em smiled slightly. She didnt want to worry Cal, but she wanted to be honest. "I didn't really sleep, kinda just rested, laying here."

Em thought on the question for a few moments. "Both, maybe. I don't know. I feel tired but I didn't fall asleep. I didn't really try to, though." If she fell asleep, maybe she would get a nightmare. They had gotten upsetting recently, and she hadn't told Callum.

Callum nodded. "I understand. You can always join me in my work if you ever find yourself as bored as you were today. I know it's not exciting but I'm sure it's better than sitting still for the evening."

Em nodded. Maybe he was right, and it would keep her mind from wandering places it shouldn't. "How was the rest of your evening?"

"It was uneventful but productive." Callum said with a yawn. "Although it had less of you in it than I would have hoped for."

"Oh, I'm sorry lover. I'd have stayed around if I had known." She kissed his cheek and pressed her head against his collarbone, feeling a bit better with the contact.

Cal wrapped an arm around her side to bring her body a bit closer to his. "It's fine love. Was your day satisfactory?"

"Yeah. I liked seeing the view from that cave the best, and knowing that I could take away your pain." She smiled a little when she remembered that she could do that for him now.

Callum smiled softly. "You'll have to show me that trick some time." He still had absolutely no clue how she was able to take away his pain, and she didn't seem to know, which made it more odd.

"It was so strange. I just really wished I could take the pain for you and then it happened. It might be because I.. bit you... again." As she said the last part, her voice got quieter, until "again" was almost inaudible.

"Emmalia, it's fine that you bit me. You don't have to hide it or anything. I'm technically undead, and it didn't harm me. Hell, I wouldn't want you to blame yourself even if I wasn't."

Em disagreed, so she changed the subject. "It's not just your blood I've had recently - it was others. The older girl and the little girl - I didn't want with blood, but it tasted so good, and I couldn't -" she pressed her head in against his collarbone and closed her eyes, shivering slightly - she didn't want to tell him that at some point while she fed, the mage stopped forcing her, but she had kept going.

Callum brought his hands up to her back, gently tracing circles while she spoke. He listened quietly, knowing it was a difficult subject. "You don't have to say anything you don't want to, but I'm here for you."

Em very quietly said, "A-at some point, the mage stopped forcing me to drunk their blood, but I kept going. I couldn't stop, and there wasn't a mage doing that, it was just me. Blame my curse or my instancts, it's still part of me. I chose not to resist at all."

Callum remained quiet for a bit, since he wasn't expecting her to say that. After he collected his thoughts, he replied, "It's your instincts Emmalia, you and I know vampires can't control themselves when they have human blood. Please don't blame yourself for that."

Em shook her head. "But it's still part of me, isn't it? Just as much as my immortality. I know I'm not human. I know I'm a monster. But I just... I always kept it under control and when I could have, I didn't try." Her voice was both emotional and impassive. She spoke like she was stating fact, but there was a quiver of fear in her voice.

Callum turned Emmalia's head so she was looking into his eyes. "You're no less of a person than I am, and no more of a monster than anyone else. You're a dark huntress, you're an advisor, you're a wife. We all do things we wish we didn't, but all we can do is learn from it and move on." His hand gently played with her hair.

The fact that he didn't deny that she was not a person, and was a monster, but merely twisted both of the ideas, helped her accept what he said. And he was right, there was more to her than her curse - she was a wife, specifically his wife. She curled up against him, hiding her head against the crook of his neck. "All that matters to me, is that of those, I'm your wife. "

Callum held her close, keeping his arms tight around her to give Emmalia a sense of security. "I love you, Lily Pad." He didn't say anything more, knowing he didn't need to. He poured all of his heart into those words, and topped it off with a gentle kiss.
