"Shh, Cal, I know you would," she said, kissing his cheek softly, trying to placate him without too much effort. "I don't know how. Maybe because I've had your blood twice now, but you're still alive.I just didn't like seeing you so miserable - I was the one who pushed you to get drunk, after all."

"But I did it of my own accord, I wasn't forced into drinking. I thought it'd be pretty fun. You better give me my hangover back... I never thought I'd say that..."

Callum grunted. "At least let me share some of it. I don't want you bearing all of my pain that I should be feeling."

"No," Em said imputently, like a child. Was this where she admitted that she didn't know if she even could. The aching in her head was rather convincing, though, so she quietly said, "Well... fine." Again she cuddled up close to him and focused on the pain, imagining it easing. It seemed to work, as the throbbing in her head lessened by about half.

Callum felt his headache return, not as bad as before but still there. Callum still wasn't quite sure how she did it, but Emmalia didn't seem to know either. "Thank you, love."

Em grumbled, then reached out and pulled him close so they could cuddle and lean on each other as the carriage started moving. "Happy now?"

"Very." Callum said, keeping her close and kissing her head with a grunt. "You just had to see drunk Cal, huh?" He smiled a bit.

"Yes I did. It was an interesting adventure," she chuckled. Without even thinking about it, she kissed his cheek and neck a few times idly, then chuckled. "You lnow, last night, you asked me to marry you. Then you asked if I could kiss you - you said you had never kissed a girl. Then I did this -" Em sat on his lap the same way she had last night and continued, "And you panicked, saying kissing wasn't allowed in carriages, and that we'd be punished."

Callum chuckled and kissed her cheek. "That's what my father told me to discourage picking up harlots on the way to events." Callum pulled her in for a deep kiss. "And to think I believed that until I was almost a young adult."

"Well, it was effective." She smiled softly and leaned forward to lay her head on his shoulder, still sitting on his lap but making the position much more cuddly, less inappropriate. She nuzzled against his neck and closed her eyes, trying to ignore the ache of her burns and the light hangover. Despite trying not to, she felt herself falling into the dark and damaging mindset of the past few days, and started having trouble enjoying herself.

Callum held onto Emmalia, enjoying the embrace she was giving him. He lightly kissed her cheek now and then as the carriage ride droned on. "Emmalia, what do you say we go to a theater sometime? It's been a while since I've been to one and I think it'd be wonderful for us both."

"That would be nice," she said quietly, rather I'm passively. She tucked her head in against his neck so the light wouldn't be in her eyes and settled against him again.

Callum gently ran a hand over her back, once again kissing her cheek. "Are you sure? You don't sound to into the idea. Don't feel forced to go."

Em savored the kiss and the feeling of his hand on her back. The human contact felt fantastic. She said, "No, no I would like to go, I think it would be very fun."

Callum nodded and smiled softly. "Wonderful. I'll find the soonest play and get us in. Would you like a balcony seat?" He asked, his excitement seeming to increase suddenly.

"Why not? I don't recall us ever going to a theater together. I'm sure it'll be a great experience." Callum kissed her cheek.

"It will be, I'm sure. I just don't want you to rush. I'm fine with just relaxing some days too." To be honest, that was all she really felt like doing recently.

Once back at the castle, they had a light meal, since both of them were slightly hungover. Despite it being the day Emmalia would normally need to hunt, she didn't even mention the need for blood, or the idea of hunting. She just sit across from Callum, drinking the thin soup and nibling on a bit of bread.

Callum ate his meal with content, since he felt like he hadn't eaten in an eternity. Although, thanks to his slight hangover he was rather cautious while eating. He looked over at Emmalia, who he assumed would share his hunger. "Are you feeling alright dear?"

"Yeah, I'm fine. Maybe a little tired, but I'm fine." She smiled slightly and hoped he wouldn't continue to worry. She couldn't pinpoint why she was feeling so off, so she couldn't tell him.
