Callum looked down at the ground, doubting his own ability to make Emmalia happy. It scared him more than anything else to have her leave him for another cause, or, even worse, another person. "Well maybe there's something we can do to get your mind off it?"

A small weight on his shoulders was lifted, but Callum still doubted himself a bit. "Well, maybe the theater can help. Or just go out and do some odd jobs like we used to."

Callum wasn't expecting this, and was visibly surprised. "It's that bad?" He asked, assuming she wanted an escape from her empty feeling. "I suppose, if that's what you want."

"I dont know if that means its bad. I just remember it being fun, and you basically cuddling me to sleep because I was all fussy and the noise was getting to me. Wine makes me feel nice and warm too." She looked up at him, hoping she would believe that she was only wanting to try it and not using it as a coping mechanism, because she wasnt lying.

Callum nodded his head. "That nights a little fuzzy for me. If you'd like to, go ahead. Shall we go to the cellar then?"

"I didn't say I'd be drinking, just that I'd come with you to make sure you don't drink all the wine." Cal said, giving her hand a squeeze.

Em blushed, feeling something distincr for the first time in a few days (besides the fear and sadness from her nightmare) - she was feeling giddy and embarrassed.

Callum held her hand as they walked to the wine cellar. Once there, Callum looked over the different kinds and years they had. "Pick anything you'd like."

Cal looked it over before nodding his head, carrying the barrel with them up to his office and opening it when they got there. He grabbed two goblets and gave one to Em.

"Of course, I wasn't planning on having any more than a cup. Two at the most if I finish this up soon." He motioned to the papers in front of him.

Callum almost chuckled, spending more if his time watching Emmalia drink the wine than actually working on his things. "Slow down, you'll throw it all up if you drink it too fast."

"It's fine I suppose. It's more so me trying to quell whining Lord's complaints. As if I can fix every last problem in the realm." Cal sighed. "But from what I can tell, they're less upset with me than they were with Gallium." Callum looked over the documents for a moment, quiet before replying. "I suppose that's a good thing."

Em shrugged. "Only at a glass and a half and you know me, not really enough for a buzz." She finished her glass then poured herself another.

Cal nodded his head. "Just don't drink yourself sick, please." Callum said, turning his attention back to the paperwork. It didn't take him long to quickly write an apologetic no to most of the requests. He couldn't give up every last man in his army to other Lords, especially when they just wanted them to keep their citizens at bay.

An had another two glasses before he buzz became visible. She leaned in and nuzzled against Cal's neck, her cheeks showing a slight flush.

Callum smiled over at Emmalia, holding her side to make sure she didn't fall off the table. "Hello there." He chuckled.
