"We'll ride in our vehicles." Volski said. The nobles nodded as they got on thier horse backs and began to guide the way.


"Are you made your majesty?" One of the nobles said. "Don't worry. I am going to try and manipulate them to tell some informstion about them."

Ace nodded and led the men into an empty tavern.

The nobles had led the platoon to the estate that was owned by the leader of the city.


As they stopped, the platoon members came out of their vehicles as well. Major Herman took the Becket and Akari with him as three navy seals and two spetznazs stayed to guard the vehicles.


Volski, had brought the rest of the platoon inside where the princess and the nobles stood behind a tale across from Volski and the recon platoon.


"You may sit down." The princess said.


Volski and the high ranked officers sat down and so did the princess and the nobles.

Ace did not sit down, and he did not smile. "You offer us the trade, we discuss and pay your ransom for the item, which is? I mean what do we have to trade with you that you could possibly want?"

"Your money. Whatever the amount those scales are worth, we will take. Nothing more, nothing less." Volski said.


"And how many scales are there exactly?" One of the nobles asked.


"Probably a thousand." Volski said.


The servants brought a weight scale as the nobles began to calculate how much they would need to pay.

She didn't expect this warm welcoming, but complied with the orders.


As Kayla entered the mansion she could see the luxurious lifestyle the nobles here lived in. Almost in every corner existed a golden or silver piece of something, and the curtains all around looked like they were made of silk. Finally arriving at the table she politely refused to sit down and decided to stand in the right side of the Commander seat, assuming a guarding stance. With her eyes fixed mostly on the man currently speaking. She will stay silent for the moment and observe the surrounding with her hands behind her back. Any wrong move and she would draw her swords in a instant and protect the senior officer. She took a look around the table most of them appeared to be noble, just the guy who standed appeared to be with any military training so she keeps her eyes mostly on him.


Meanwhile the rest of her team was going somewhere with Major Herman. while walking Akari said in a low voice.


"Geez this place looks like something out of those ancient movies the captain likes so much. I think she is actually enjoying her time here."

Ace shook his head. "One scale could buy me food for three days. We're not paying you that much."

"They are worth a lot." The noble said. "Wealthy lords would pay hundreds for just a few. With a thousand, we would be able to gain twice the amount of money."


"While they are calculating, may I ask a few questions regarding your forces?" The princess asked.


"By all means." Volski replied


The princess turned her head towards Ace. "Do you wish to ask any questions about their forces or their world?"

Ace nodded. "Are you currently holding any hostages from our world. You may know of the elite team, Squadron X. If you have them. under captivity.. I will fight you right here for them.."

"The only reason why we have prisoners of war is because they surrendered to us. We have forcefully taken prisoners before." Volski said.


"No worries, they are being treated humanely and are being well cared for. But yes, there were soldiers who were a part of an elite team they called squadron x. Sorry to say but most of them were killed. We only have a couple of them kept in the Washington DC prison."


"I suggest you don't fight. They are being treated well. But also, I have my duties which is to be peaceful to you. And if I were to die, my world's government would not release the prisoners like they originally planned. If word comes back saying that an officer of a peace-keeping recon platoon has died, the United Nations assembly will not be too pleased. If you want them, I suggest your government, in this case, you emperor, make a deal with mine."


"Why are you here in our world?" The princess asked.


"We are here, because you murdered innocent lives. And we are here because our people demand justice."


"Why would you care about lowly people. They are just tools. Their lives don't matter." One of the nobles said. A few nodded their heads.


One of the Lieutenant Colonels looked very angry by that statement.


"Obviously you people don't know the importance of life." Volski said.

"New stealth multi-role fighters. Fresh from the factories." One of the generals said to Marcel. "They're going to replace those old planes. They're much faster and can carry more weapons."

Akari looked around not sure what to pick, he didn't know what to say to the major. Then Sgt. Beckett gently nudged him and pointed discreetly towards a rooftop near where their vehicles were parked. Akari showed him a grateful smile while answering the major:


"Would there be a good, on top of the building near where our vehicles are? It would provide a bird's eye view of the surroundings and we can regroup quickly with our team in case something happens."


Meanwhile Kayla was listening to the noble's reasoning and could understand what he was saying. She herself was part of a team used to do "off record" missions by her country. But she made terms with that and will continue fighting so that teams like hers won't be needed anymore. While thinking all of those she showed a complicated expresion.

"The two remaining members that you requested along with the rest of the p.o.ws will not be released unless the ruler and the government of the kingdom pays and publicly apologise for their crimes. And we have no intentions of fighting you because that goes against our military laws. No matter how much we want to take out your cities with nukes, m2 mines, and tsar bombs and make your world suffer through a millennium of nuclear winter." One of the Korean UDT captains said.


"What is this humanely you speak of?" The princess asked.

Ace gritted his teeth and clenched his grip around his sword. How dare they! How dare they treat this like some kind of game! "I don't give a damn about your laws." He raised his hand, pointing towards the head officer. "You will give back Squadron X! You talk to us about not fight to start a fight but who was the one who invaded our world and killed our people?! It was you people! It shall not be forgiven. I now speak for myself as the nobles are too simple minded to see that you have us twirled around your finger!" Ace's face hardened with hatred. "You murderers! Do you think I do not realise you have a goal of killing our Emperor? You filthy murderers!"

Kayla instantly drew her swords and hesitated for a second in slicing the man's arms as he approached, she remembered the commander's words about peacefully talking to them. And while the guy was busy babbling about not giving ransom she skilfully sneaked behind him and pointed the tip of her katana at his back while the short sword was at his neck, then she said slowly. Her voice was cold as a siberian winter:


"Release him, or I will give you a new hole so that you can breath directly through your throat" her short sword had grazed him a little on the neck and from there a thin strand of blood could be seen. She only needed to see him twitch and she would instantly slice his jugular, she just needed a motive, a simple "do it!" from the commander would be enough.

Ace remained stone faced. "You would be bold enough to kill me even though you are in our territory? My knights are naturally closer, so you would get killed right after. If that is your wish though.." Right before he released Volski, he sneak a black thing from his belt into his coat. He needed to know what kind of magic they used. "Get this woman off me please." The knights stepped up hesitantly. "Please m'lady, we shouldn't star with violence."

"Easy now." Volski said to Kayla.


The Korean UDT and Navy seals that were in the rooms all pointed their guns at Ace. "I said easy." Volski repeated before turning back to face ace.


"Yes, we came through the gates, but it was your own government that created them, and sent their soldiers to kill thousands of mine. Enslaved some, and ruined the lives of others. Your forces killed children going to school, innocent men and women going to work, and elderly visiting their families. It was your own government's fault for starting this war by invading a civilization that is capable of caused cataclysmic damage onto a nation. "


"We never asked for a war. Your people invaded us first. And painted yourselves as killers to our citizens. We are simply doing this to defend our territory. The first week of the UN entering through into this world, the kingdom launched three attacks. All of them failed miserably. After that, we launched operation fire in the sky. And 8 week long bombing campaign to render the kingdom's armies useless. We might have killed thousands of innocent people from the kingdom. But it was the kingdom who attacked first. And we are simply here because our citizens, our civilians demanded justice for the human race."


Ask the commander got up again, one of the korean UDTs saw that the commander's handgun was missing. He approached Layla and told her to stand down. He then whispered into her ear. "The commander's handgun is missing. Guess who stole it."


As the commander sat back down, two Korean UDTs pointed their assault rifles at Ace. "It appears our commander's side-arm is missing. Care to explain?"

"Good boy" she said in the same cold manner as she slowly removed her swords from his back and neck.


Then she resumed the guard stance behind the commander, a little at his right..this time her hand was on the hilt of the shortsword...One more move like that and she wouldn't hesitate to slide the man. Then the one UDT came near her and informed her that the commander's handgun was missing.. she then unsheathed only her sword and assumed a defensive position facing the man from before, while saying:


"It's not nice to take things from others without asking. I have to politely ask you this one time to return it..." she left the rest to imagination.

Ace chuckled. "One moment." He whispered into one of the officer's ears. "Report back to the gate. Surround the city in case things get ugly." He leaned back as the officer rushed away. Ace pulled out the handgun with a confused expression. H raised it up to the girl. "This? I have no idea what it does but I know it hurts. Is this your 'magic?'

Kayla smirked at the man while saying:


"Magic?..well it would appear that way from your point of view" then she sheathed her sword and started slowly approaching the man until she was a few centimeters in front of the gun's barrel. She didn't look at the gun but in his eyes directly, emanating a aura of defiance. She had been in this kind of situation many times during her training. She was able to successfully disarm the man in a instant seeing how loose his grip was on the weapon and that he didn't take the safety off, but she wanted to test him. So she let out a arrogant taunt prepared to disarm him the instant he should reach for the safety mechanism:


"Why don't you try shooting boy?"

The two UDTs still pointed their assault rifles.


The commander looked at his holster before looking at ace. "I think you took something that belongs to me. I'd like it back."


Volski said as he stood up. "That's theft of UN property if you refuse to give it back. And our government will not be too happy."


He also saw that the gun had it's safety on meaning it was not a threat.

Ace looked at Kayla oddly. "I would, but I'm not you. I don't kill people without reason. I just want to know something; what do you view us as? The people in this world and what will you do if you win the war? Kill us all and make us worship you?"

Kayla showed a sadistic smile while saying:


"I speak just for myself now. For me you guys are just the enemy, and I will execute every one of you if my superiors tell me. In a sense you can say that I'm just a tool like that man was refering earlier. The only difference is that I choose this path and I don't regret it. I took upon an oath, like any other soldier here to serve in the army in order to protect the people and if my superiors order me to slaughter you all I won't hesitate to do so. But for now we have orders to engage in peaceful trading. I am here more like a guard for my superior officer." she then extends her arm.


"Now please don't make things any harder and hand over that gun before you hurt yourself" if he would choose to give the gun to her she would turn and give it to the comander.

"It's not about 'if' we win but when we do win. Because these guns are not the only thing in our inventory." Volski said.


"We see you as the roman empire. Advanced than the other nations of your world. But not advanced enough. You are still very ancient and still far from creating firearms that won't blow up."


"I don't know what the UN is planning on doing after we win. But we are civilized. More civilized than this world. And we don't take slaves or anything of that sort because that is savage, and evil and a crime punishable by death. We don't kill because it's massacre."


"The kingdom started this war. Not us. But your own emperor. We don't want anything to do with you but your greedy government thinks they can barge into earth and attempt to annex UN territory and kill thousands of innocent people which we will not accept. We bombed only military and agriculture areas. We are simply defending earth. We have not launched any invasion." Volski said.


"When we do win, all those responsible for opening the gates and launching the attack will be tried and imprisoned or sentenced to death. But that is just one of many steps the UN government will take."


"Now. Would you please give back that handgun?"


"We'll pay 500 golden crowns. The highest valued pieces in the kingdom." The noble said.


"Ace. I think it is best if you handed that thing back to the man." The princess said.

Ace let the gun down on the table. "Princess, I should've known you were cowardly. I have no reason to stay in this city. Now that Squadron X is mute, I'll work alone." He took his steps for the door. "I'll be watching this 'UN' nation very closely. These nobles may not understand, but I will. I don't think I can trust you people." Then he shut the door, and disappeared.

"How about a visit to our world?" Volski said. "We'll let you see the two survivors of your group. But we will not release them."


"And there is only one way in and one way out of our base and it is heavily defended. Guarded by the most advanced cameras and defense systems. You won't even be able to make it up half way up the hills without being spotted."


An officer soon opened the door. "Enemies approaching."


"What?" One of the nobles said.


"They are the remnants of the United Kingdom's army." The officer said.


"Ace, the remnants of the united Kingdom's army have surrounded the entire city wall. We cant get out. The emperor sent me to inspect you. He wants to know he can trust you with his life. He wants to make you a general. Please, you are the only chance we have. They're preparing to attack."


The officer then leaned over to Ace's ear. "If you manipulate the armoured men, and trick them. You will be able to go to their base. And into their world. This is your chance Ace."

"Shit. Everyone come on. Lets go." Volski said picking up his handgun.


"Where are you going?" The noble asked.


"To defend this city of course." Volski replied as he exited out of the building.


"Herman, get back into the vehicles. ASAP."


"You got it." The SAS Major said.


"Alright lads, time to join the est of the pack."
