MEI-LIN SUNG

Mei had to grin at Ashitare's words, "True, it is pretty warm out! But so beautiful, I've never seen anything like this city before in my whole life, I've only ever read about them in History books!" She blinked and looked down, smiling sheepishly, "Eh heh, not that I never believed these existed in real life or anything, but still it's hard to believe I'm actually here, words can't describe how excited I am to see all of this!" She felt her curiosity grow as Ashitare mentioned that he too had questions of his own, but knew better than to pry-she wasn't very nosy, except when it came to Koi-chan, but at least her dear friend understood.

And speaking of which, she wanted to find her, and soon.

She smiled to her two new friends, grinning at them both, "Well, let's head there then, you guys! Adventure won't come to us, we gotta go to it, right? We all got questions that need answering, so let's get to the bottom of them all!" Luckily a servant was able to guide her and her companions to a comfortable living room of sorts, ancient of course but still refined. She couldn't believe any of it, that she went back in time and saw these things that she had seen fragments of in museums back in modern China.

Sitting on one of the comfortable chairs, she sat up straight like a real princess, looking regal in her own respects and loving the attention she was getting-all eyes on her, always and forever in the spotlight, where she truly belonged. She pretended to be on a stage, the setting being Ancient China, about to discover what her purpose was being sucked into a book and how she could fulfill that, and of course romance and drama along the way! No play or musical was complete without all that, and she set her sights on a certain male with black and white hair to be a possible love interest-possibly.

When Tomo, also known as Kailai, entered with a stranger, Mei-Lin smiled and waved to him, "Hi there, Tomo! Please, call me Mei for short!" She beamed and gave a bright smile and giggle at Tomo's words, "Nah, I won't find them boring at all, Heck at this point in my life everything's becoming an adventure." She looked to the man, who Tomo introduced as Mitsuhide, and she bowed her head respectfully to him, "I am very pleased to meet you, Mitsuhide, please call me Mei as well!" She grinned at him happily. It was so great to meet so many cool people, as it stood Mei was far from disappointed.

She perked up when she thought she heard knocking, then looked to Tomo, her eyes a bit wide and eyebrows quirked in confusion, "Were you expected more guests, Tomo? Oh! Speaking of, I want to thank you very much for allowing myself, Ashitare and Jun to stay here, you are very kind, Tomo!" She bowed to him-as low as she could while seated-in respect, her long pigtails flowing forward with the motion of her head.

Assassin Namame
~~~~~~~
Location : Temple of Oroko
~~~~~~~

Blank. Blur. Black. He can't see anything, all it is nothing but a mirage, a dream. All there is it's pain, pain, pain. It drags his body down, leaving him lost, uncertain, trapped within his own thoughts. He had to wake up, he had to wake up. Koi. Koi was...Koi was gone. Danger. The man with the intense gaze. How dare he, how dare he?! She had too fallen by his hand. He had witnessed it, he could not hide it from him. But he could do nothing, he could not say anything. A lion trapped, forced to fall, unable to protect whom he was supposed to. Gone. Gone. Don't go. I cannot fail, I cannot see the red, I cannot feel the cold. But the darkness continues to whisper in his ear, the pain consumes him, the images flash before his own eyes. All there is it's despair. Wake up, wake up, wake up!

A scream erupts from his throat. His eyes open, his body risen, sweat covering his skin. A piercing pain leaves him to move instantly, bringing a hand to the back of his head. Bandages cover it, wrapped carefully around the catalyst of his fall. But how, when...? His eyes search the room, unfamiliarity filling him more and more into a state of panic. A woman in religious garments stares at him in shock with traces of fear in her eyes. "You're awake..." She says but Namame cannot hear her. His head goes back and forth, intense emotions crawling within him. Where is she, where is she? He has to find her, he has to save her! An abrupt jump, he is now out of the bed where his body rested, making the woman let out a reaction of surprise. She rises at long last, crying out for a name that is nothing but foreign to his ears. Two men enter the room. They speak but Namame refuses to catch their words, making sense of them. He has to find her, he has to see her. A swift dash, a clear, pinpointed attack on each of the men is all he needs to knock them out of his sight. He can't think, he can't stop. His sword is gone, his dagger is gone but he has to keep running, hall after hall. The exit. Where is the exit? He ignores the screams at his passage, he ignores the hands that try to stop him. Koi. Koi. Koi. The Priestess is in danger, the Celestial Warrior has failed. Lost in such thoughts, reality seems to loose grasp on him...until...

A woman. A tall woman stands in his way. Namame snaps from his trance, taken by the sight before his own eyes. She is covered by a white cloth, hiding away her face. But he can feel it. A smile, mocking smile, eyes that stare into the depth of his soul.
"Where are you going, child? Why such a rush?" He can't answer her. Words won't leave him. No sound escapes his lips. "To do such things after having your wounds just cleared is not a wise decision. You must know it to be true." She pauses, her soft voice reaching his ears like a whisper tickling his skin. "But still you go against all odds, knocking down those who brought you, ignoring those who saved you. Such an ungrateful child you are." Her feet lead her closer to him. "Tell me, what is that brings such a storm to your young heart? Why must you depart like this, so suddenly, so irresponsibly?" She pauses one again, staring down at him. " ...Who do you seek, child?" Silence. "You do not have your weapons, your wound still consumes you with pain, your body is still shaking, you are lost within these streets with no clear destination." Each word is carved in his head with a sharp blade. "You are but a lost child." He clinches his fists, his body trembling as new emotions blossom. "You failed your mission, Celestial Warrior Namame, did you not?" How does she know, how could she know...?! "...She is gone now." "NO!" His coice echoes through the walls of the temple, travelling a wide distance. "She...she can't." His mouths moves. His throat vibrates. "I have to find...her! If she....if something happ..happened..." He raises his head, the woman's eyes stare down at him. "I have to find Koi. I have..." An embrace cuts his words. "...He speaks."

What am I doing? Shouting at Hak in Panic

^v^v ^v^v ^v^v ^v^v ^v^v^

"Please forgive me..."

Those were the last words the girl heard from the celestial warrior, Hak, before everything turned into darkness. She knew nothing. She saw nothing. She felt nothing. The girl shut down after getting hit on her pressure point. It was complete darkness, and a long one too. That was until the exterior senses of her body felt like she was being lifted up, as if she was being saved from this nightmare: The nightmare of not being able to go back to the real world, of losing her friend Mei-chan, of not being able to see her family and friends anymore, and of being in a very unfamiliar place where strange events happen all at once. The girl felt like she was being carried towards salvation and back to the world where she belongs, and the image of her friend who she lost was along side with her, being lifted up towards waking up. Closer and closer into the light that she can see in her dreams, Koi subconsciously thought that she would finally open her eyes and escape.

Gasp!, they opened at last as she took in a deep breath. Her body jerked as she woke up, and her eyes wondered all around as if searching for clues as to where she was. That was until she realized that a famliar face was carrying her princess style. Koi stared at the male as if slowly taking in the position she's in right now. Little by little, her face turned very red, and her heart beat fast. "H-h-h-ha-Hak!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!??", she shouted in surprise as her body stiffened up, shying away from ever moving from the awkward position. "Wh-Wha-Whaat are you doing????!!", she asked in a loud tone which can be heard by people from afar. Her voice sounded like she was in a panic or trouble. Some commoners who were around turned to see where the noise came from. However, because they were hidden, the folks of the town did not know who yelled. They just started murmuring as to what might have happened.

Mitsuhide

Location: Seiryuu Court

Activity: Being introduced

Listening to Kailai Mitsuhide starts wondering, '
interesting.... very positive....' Something felt off about the way Kailai said it. Parking these thought Mitsuhide continued with reading the scroll. Going through it quite fast Mitsuhide had read most of the scroll by the time that the servant arrived. He informed them that Meilin and the others were waiting in the living room. Kailai looks at Mitsuhide and winks, "I hope you've finished reading because you're about to meet the Priestess of Seiryu". While rolling up the scroll, "Just about". Mitsuhide returns the scroll to Kailai and stands up to follow Kailai towards the living room. His mind made up after reading the scroll, he will support the priestess.

When entering the living room Mitsuhide's thoughts drift back... '
What would Kailai have meant by very positive.... that is just odd....'. He registers the names of those there as Kailai introduces them. 'Meilin.... would this be the priestess? ... Ashitare, black and white hair how peculiar ... Jun, female warrior? ' Mitsuhide raises his eyebrows a little bit as he looks at Jun, then shortly shakes his head as if he was thinking something odd. Directing his attention back to Meilin, it gets confirmed by her reaction to Kailai. Whom she calls Tomo. 'So that is what Kailai meant.' Mitsuhide bow slightly as he takes out his fan and spreads it out next to his face, displaying the beautiful image of Suzaku and Seiryu depicted upon it. "The pleasure is mine, Mei xi?ng?", Mitsuhide responds, using the honorifics for a priestess when adressing Mei. When standing back from the bow Mitsuhide also put away his fan again. Nodding to the others, "Nice to meet you.".

Imperial Librarian Kailai Wen (Tomo)

Location: Living room, Wen compound

What am I Doing? Telling Mei that she's the priestess of Seiryuu...finally!.

“Not that I know of…” Kailai replied, frowning in bewilderment. He hadn’t heard anything, but perhaps Meilin had better ears than him. Well, no matter. If there was someone important at the guards would notify the servants who would notify him. Kailai smiled at Mei’s sincerity, “There’s no need to thank me. I am honored to have you, Ashitare, and Jun stay at my home.”

After all, it wasn’t everyday one gets to entertain the priestess of Seiryuu. Kailai suspected Jun and Ashitare might be celestial warriors as well, given Jun’s fighting skills and Ashitare’s name, but he didn’t want to jump to conclusions. Not until he saw their marks. Fighting prowess didn’t define a celestial warrior and a parent naming their child after a Seiryuu warrior was uncommon, but not unheard of…especially now that the emperor was offering rewards to anyone with information regarding the warriors of Seiryuu.

“Now then,” Kailai took a seat across from Meilin, Ashitare, and Jun. “I’ve procrastinated long enough. Let’s get straight to answering your questions, Mei. That.” Kailai pointed to the large portrait of Seiryuu behind Mei. “Is the Azure Dragon Seiryuu . There are four major gods worshipped in our world: The Guardian of the East, Seiryuu, the Guardian of the West, Byakko, the Guardian of the South, Suzaku, and the Guardian of North, Genbu. Here, in the Kutou Empire—and many other countries of the eastern regions—we worship Seiryuu.”

He explained about the four gods the same way he did when he tutored Prince Homrei on the basics of world religion. Everything he went over was elementary knowledge, something most citizens of the Kutou Empire had been taught as children. The ones able to receive an education anyway.

“The mark that was on your forehead. The one you were curious about.” Kailai poked at the spot on Meilin’s forehead where he’d seen her mark appear, tracing the symbol as he remembered it. “That’s the character for Seiryuu.”

Sighing, Kailai retracted his arm and reached into his sleeves, pulling out the blue scroll he’d shown Mitsuhide. “There’s an old legend among the worshippers of Seiryuu about priestess—a girl from another world— who would come to our land in a times of great peril. That priestess would gather all seven Seiryuu warriors to her side—Ashitare, Suboshi, Tomo, Amiboshi, Miboshi, Soi, Nakago—and, together with her warriors, summon the God Seiryuu to save our country. Afterwards, the priestess would return to her own world. That’s how Seiryuu’s version of the ‘Universe of Four Gods’ goes at least.”

Kailai paused, examining Meilin carefully. Sitting straight like she did, polite yet exuding a certain confidence about her, Kailai could actually see her as the priestess of Seiryuu. The pretty dress she wore helped. He was glad Mei had the foresight to change into clothes that fit their world. That showed intelligence as well as an adventurous spirit.

“I suspect you may be the Priestess of Seiryuu in the legend.” Kailai finished smoothly, his eyes locked on hers to see her reaction. “As for your friend, I’m sorry, but I have no idea who she is or where she might be. I don’t think any of the stories ever mentioned the priestess bringing a friend with her to our world…though you shouldn’t quote me on that.”

The gates to the Wen compound opened and a burly guard stepped out.

“Greetings, Jian Han.” The guard said lazily, in a slightly irritated manner, as if he had just been pulled away from something important. He assessed the visitor, seeing that the man was as big as him and must be a warrior—or something like it. Surely such a visitor wasn’t here to see the Imperial Librarian. “Unfortunately, Lord Bakryuu is away at the moment—as well as most of the Wen Family. The only one currently in the residence is Lord Kailai…and he’s busying with some guests. So unless, it’s something important—Ow!”

“You shouldn’t be so rude to visitors!” And old woman said, as she yanked the guard’s ear. “Sorry about that, Sir. Please come in. I’ll notify the Master that you are here. He brought in two maidens yesterday, Miss Jun and Miss Mei. I’m not sure which one you wish to speak with, but they’re both lovely ladies.”

The old servant sighed as she lead Jian Han to the building where Kailai’s guests were staying. “Don’t mind Ran. He’s a good boy. There’s just been a lot going on in this household, you see. First Lord Kailai causes some kind of commotion at the city gates. And now Lord Bailai and Lord Zilai go off to fight some beast!” The old woman shook her head. “Those boys make me worry like no other. All three of them.”

Where: The Port City of Oroko, Koukan Empire

What: Singing, drinking, gambling and...what was that sound?? (@Mine)

This was the sort of environment in which she thrived.

Rakitori, a humble but well-loved establishment in the port city of Oroko, was packed with bodies - fishermen, traders, tourists, souls from all walks of life congregated in its warm, wooden confines, the air within wreathed with smoke and the comingled scents of hot bread, simple stew and liquor. Tables and chairs had been shoved aside to make room for its denizens, to hop, twirl and dance at will, and while nary a respectable soul could be glimpsed from where she sat, she was having a good time regardless. The dinner hour, after all, was when the juiciest gossip and news from far-flung lands were traded with impunity, and the more wine and ale flowed, the more outlandish they became.

Long, pale fingers strummed over her lute, pitching her voice over the crowd and helped along by her talents in that regard. Most other performers would consider it cheating, really, a disgrace to the performing arts to exploit the advantage that her birth had blessed her, but she was never one to put much stock in what other people thought of her. After all, much like the rest, she had to make a living.

~From there I got away,

My spirits never failin'

Landed on the quay

As the ship was sailin';

Captain at me roared,

Said that no room had he,

When I jumped aboard,

A cabin found for me...~

Floorboards rattled at the stomping of feet, longer skirts brushed over the worn surface as men and women danced, engaging in revels that they duly earned after the day's work and toil. Suzume grinned as a few of the sailors joined the chorus, cups slamming over and over again on one of the tavern's many tables. Her own booted foot stomped on the stage she was perched on, cramped and tiny as it was; a far cry from the more lavish offerings she knew existed in the capital city.

At the moment, however, she wouldn't change a thing. To her, this was the life.

You'll...live for the both of us, won't you, Suzu...?

Her eyes closed at that, still smiling. Yuzuru's ever-present ghost slipped from the back of her mind, where she jealously hoarded those memories of her, as she often did whenever she was in a particular state of sadness or contentment.

And right now, she was very content.

* * *

The city's night life seemed to spill through Rakitori's doors in a neverending cascade. As Suzume watched the latest group (young men, this time, eager for a drink and conversations with the pretty local maidens - about the fifth bunch of like composition she had seen in the evening), the tavern's owner slid a small bag of coins towards her from his side of the bar.

"Sorry for the late notice there, Suzume," 'Old Bear' Choji groused, working the words from underneath his voluminous beard. "For some reason, the other guy I hired to play today didn't show up."

The blonde grinned, tossing the bag in her palm and planting a hand on the gentle flare of her left hip. "No worries here, Fuzzy Bear," she replied, her tone light and teasing. "Who am I to say no to my favorite bartender in all of Koukan?"

"Flattery won't get you anywhere close to payin' off your tab."

"Well, I had to try." Suzume tucked the pouch in her pocket, her slender frame leaning casually against the bar top, inclining her head towards the breadth of the common room. "It's a good night to be alive, though, debts notwithstanding." She winked at the older man. "I hope you don't change a thing, next time I come around these parts."

The former mercenary snorted. "Don't haveta worry 'bout that," he said, and while his mouth didn't reflect it, his smile appeared however briefly in his dark stare. "I'm too old for change. You leavin' town tonight?"

"I'm a bird born free in this beautiful, terrible world," she said dramatically, with a flourished flip of her right hand sideways and inwardly smirking at the irony there - she doubted very much that Celestial Warriors were truly such, not when the mark bore with it specific duties and responsibilities that she was trying to put off for as long as humanly possible. "Besides, I won't be able to learn new songs if I just stay in one place, and then where would I be? This is all I know how to do to make an honest living."

She pushed herself off the counter, waving over her shoulder as she shouldered her pack, feeling the welcome weight of her lute and meager possessions rest against her spine. "I'll see you next time, Fuzzy Bear!"

The bartender/tavern owner grunted his goodbyes, turning back to the task of polishing his glasses. The door closing behind her, she hopped down the few steps present on the threshold to get back onto one of the city's main thoroughfares. She took a breath, traces of salt and brine from the nearby ocean filling her lungs.

"Suzu!!"

She turned at the sound of her name, virid eyes falling on the small figure pushing his way through the evening's foot traffic. With his shabby clothing and unruly mop of chocolate tresses, his identity was unmistakeable, at least to her. That was another thing she had learned from Masuhiro in those years on the road; while common folk largely ignored street urchins like Yuu, they could squeeze in places adults could not, and were amenable to doing small tasks so long as there was coin in it for them - like running messages and keeping an eye on specific points of interest. Yuu often couriered for the locals, aside from being a cheap source of gossip.

The boy stopped, bending over at the strain from his run, breathing raggedly as he braced his hands on his knees.

"Yuu," Suzume greeted, a broad grin curling up on her lips. Leaning forward, she made a big show of inspecting his appearance before continuing. "Keep stressing yourself out this much and you're gonna get gray hair before you get to marrying age. What's your future bride going to say if she sees you looking old beyond your years?"

Yuu wrinkled his nose. "I'm not going to get gray hair," he huffed. "And ugh, girls, no way am I ever getting married!"

"My brother used to say that growing up," she said, fighting the urge to widen her smile, investing herself in the momentary mischief of teasing a child not even half her age. "And then he turned twelve, and started obsessing over them." She tilted a sidelong glance at him, lowering her voice, as if imparting the most important of secrets. "I hear it's a curse placed on every boy; when they get to that age, they become girl crazy so be very, very careful."

"R-really?" The boy's face turned gray, before shaking his head vehemently. "Ugh, why do I even talk to you, you're teasing me again! There's no such thing as a girl-crazy curse, that's just...well, weird! And not funny! So if it's a joke, it's not funny, Suzu!"

She couldn't help it this time; Suzume laughed, her head tilting back slightly. "I'll let you see for yourself, then," she said agreeably. "Anyway, why were you calling for me?"

"Oh, yeah!" Yuu jabbed a thumb over his shoulder. "One of the acolytes at the church told me to come an' get you! Said someone got brought in and he's being difficult because of his wounds. They were wondering if you'd give them a hand because...you know." He glanced around surreptitiously, lowering his voice to further guarantee that nobody heard him. "That thing that you do."

Suzume frowned, confusion settling over the gentle line of her brow. "They're holy types," she said. "They got their own medicines, what do they need me for?"

"Dunno." The boy shrugged. "Maybe it's a different kinda problem. Anyway, you asked me to let you know if any paying jobs come my way, so..."

She maintained her skeptical expression, her gaze wandering to the road leading towards the church. "I did," she conceded, slowly. "But now's really not a good time and I was supposed to be headed out of here ten minutes ag--"

NO!!

Her head jerked upwards, the sudden sound filling her senses; the source was too far for anyone around her to hear, but it carried all the same, through wind and rock and steel.

I have to find...her! If she....if something happ...happened...!!

The blonde seishi's considering frown deepened. The voice was faint, but frantic, desperation stitched through every syllable and all the dormant synapses in her body vibrating with it. Fine, fair hairs stood up at the back of her neck; on a normal day, she would have dismissed it as nothing - the ramblings of a sick patient whose last memories before sinking into the darkness were of someone who was close to him. But this time, the urgency of those spectral cries called to her, tugging her viciously, inexorably towards something she barely understood.

What in the damned hell is going on over there?

"Suzu?"

Broken out of her reverie by the street urchin's prompting, Suzume dropped a hand on Yuu's messy hair, ruffling it as she walked past.

"Alright, alright already. I'll go see what it's about."

* * *

The church was silent and still when she arrived. Stopping at the large front doors, Suzume stared up at its columns, the curled ends of its rooftop, and couldn't help but exhale another breath. She couldn't even remember the last time she had stepped on blessed ground.

Her hand reached for one of the brass rings, tapping it twice against the surface, the sound low and deep, echoing through the inner sanctum. It wasn't long until it opened for her, a girl of no more than sixteen years and dressed in white peering out at her.

"One of the acolytes sent for me," she said by way of introduction. "Something about a patient that might need a different kind of care?"

The girl nodded, gesturing further into the church. "This way," she replied, trotting forward to lead her in.

It didn't take her long to get to where she needed to be - long legs and worn bootheels made quick work of the tiles underneath her feet, Suzume's emerald gaze sweeping up to the high ceilings and the religious effigies standing guard on almost every corner. Every step she took reverberated across the church's labyrinthine halls, her shadow slipping over the walls and flickering on the edges by the light of well placed lamps. Turning a corner, she nodded when the girl dipped her body at the waist, scurrying off to perform whatever other duties she needed to see to, before wandering towards the open doorframe.

The first thing she saw was the woman - a couple of inches taller than her, and imposing with her white clothing and veiled face. And in her arms was someone she didn't recognize, though considering his circumstances, it was a difficult endeavour on its own. She could only see the top of Namame's head from her position by the entryway.

Her brows lifted slowly while she witnessed the embrace.

Curling a finger by the knuckle, she rapped solidly on the wood next to her.

"I was sent for," she told the room's occupants. "Though if I came at a bad time, I could leave." A smile curled up the left corner of her expressive mouth. "Far be it for me to interrupt a private moment."

Nevermind the fact that it was precisely what she did.

MEI-LIN SUNG

Mei's eyes widened a bit as she saw the fan Mitsuhide was holding as he introduced himself to her, and she smiled, "Wow! That's a gorgeous fan you got there, Mitsuhide! It's beautiful!" She turned her attention to Tomo now, and was completely silent when he began to explain the situation, and what her purpose for being in this land could be. She pursed her lips and looked to his finger when he traced the symbol that was on her forehead last night, "Oh...well, makes sense, I guess...?" Her blue eyes kept widening in shock and her mouth hung open in a gape as he got to the end, and when it was all finished she just blinked, clearly floored by what she just heard. "So, let me get this straight: I'm apparently this priestess, for your God Seriyu, and...I'm here to save you guys from something?" She frowned when Tomo said he couldn't answer her question about her best friend, and she sighed, running a hand through her black hair, "Alright, so...wow, this is...a lot to take in, right now..."

Her mind was blown, to say the least. She sat there, deep in thought, then spoke to Tomo, "That's a lot of information to process, and to be frank a lot of pressure being put on a girl who didn't even ask for this. But..." She looked down, thinking that her purpose would be used for good, feeling it in her heart that she needed to do this for whatever reason. If it meant finding Koi and going home, she would do it, she had to. What other choice did she have? She looked to Tomo, "It seems like the book that sent me here, The Universe of the Four Gods, knew what it was doing. So, I'm going to be your priestess of Seriyu, as that seems to be my purpose here in this world. This is a big and heavy task here, and I'll tell you right now I've never done anything like this before, but with everyone's support, I know I can be what you need. So that leads me to another question: the first thing on our to-do list would be to find all seven warriors first, and then summon Seriyu? Sounds like it's gonna be a lot harder than it looks, but let's do it! Let's go on an adventure and save The Kutou Empire!" She looked to everyone, a big smile on her lips, hiding well the fact that her heart was torn up and she was quite frightened of what lay ahead. She felt like she was the star of her own play, however, and that excited her more than anything.

Name; Hak

Date; September 3

Location;
Koukan Empire, Port City Oroko

------------------------

Hak sighed, what was he doing? He thought to himself, watching the gate for the Task force to be there. He would wait in the shadows until they arrived. It wouldn't be too long before they appeared with their prisoner in tow. He laughed inwardly at himself. He had more than enough ability to take them all on and save these people they held captive, but with his present position with the situation, not only would that be difficult, but he does not nearly have enough political persuasion to confront the Emperor about it. And if he messed up they would all be killed, or taken to a place out of his reach.

So for now, he would play it right. He would simply just save the both of them, then later give the excuse that he was biding his time until he could bring the Priestess to the Minister himself and not his flunkys.

As he was thinking about this, the priestess woke up, and as one would normally react to being taken she flipped. but he quickly covered her mouth with his hand, "Look, I don't have time to explain. So for now you have to do as I say. right now though.." he revealed a small rope and a cloth Hak proceeded to tie her hands and feet, even though she struggled he was seriously strong but not rough. he finally covered her mouth. Finally sitting her between some crates. "Okay, Right now, there is a group that wants you alive. They have taken someone close to me to force me to work with them." he said. Honestly there wasn't much way to make this easy. "I would say more, like how I am feeling like crap for doing this to you, but there's no time." His words were quick and not really following a direct pattern. his voice strained with guilt and urgency.

It was understandable when a Cart then pulled into view. there were a few Task force members near it, and the leader got out of the carriage. After that, Hak's eyes widened. They brought out a young girl around twelve, bound and gagged. he knew exactly who it was Oh god..

Suddenly, a voice came from the carts as if responding to someone. "The man won't abandon his own sister. He would also not put the priestess in danger. So be prepared." Hak felt a small rage in his heart.

Hak swallowed, he turned to the priestess before hefting her over his shoulder. "I really hope you forgive me." Hak walked with the girl into the open. The task force members saw him and immediately they looked as if they were about to fight. ma, this was getting tense. "Quite the welcome party."

Inwardly, he hoped the other guy would appear, just as the exchange is met? "I am the Celestial warrior Hak. I have what you want, now give back the girl." Hak was angry that they used such a hostage. He kept his distance keeping a vigilant eye for possible ambushes. His sister noticed him and tried going to him, but was roughly pulled back. Hal soon began shaking.

Monk Gensho

Date: September 3

Location: Hokkan Empire, Port City Oroko

Group: Gensho, Lei Lan

" My apologies." he said when she jokingly threatened to use her swords on him because of the close distance they were at from each other. Although she was reluctant and what she offered was limited, she did decide to fulfill her role and the title she was born with as a celestial warrior. It was not a decision to be taken lightly and he could tell she responded to the call with no haphazardness. It warmed his heart to know that another has been drawn into a cause that will hopefully lead into a prosperous future. " Although there was no need for you to voice such a decision to myself, it is a comfort to know we have a great warrior as our comrade." he acknowledge.

" We have not verified what the priestess' goals are at the moment, however this one is certain she would not mind traveling back to your home port so you can continue your business. We would not want you to drop everything right now." he considered. He looked at her small ship and thought it would be enough for them to use. It was a simple transport sail ship, one that would not draw attention to itself. Gensho was still concerned about the Empire's desire regarding the priestess and the celestial warriors. " Please get the vessel sea ready and this one will go and get the others and return here shortly." he asked.

He started walking down the warf his staff ringing with each step. The ringing then tapered off slowly until it stopped. Gensho was trying to locate the presence of his fellow comrades but he noticed that Namame and the Priestess were not together, they were in fact quite far apart. His instruction to both Namame and Koi were quite clear, yet they were apart and nowhere near the place they all agreed to meet. Namame would not be so careless to leave the Priestess unattended, and Koi, he would hope, would not be reckless enough to wander off by herself. Something was amiss, and it definitely was a result of the presence he felt that was with the Priestess, for although it was not Namame's it was another celestial warrior. It was a familiar one as well.

The other question Gensho was concerned about was, who was with Namame? For it too was a celestial warrior. Could it be the Special Task Force lied to them and they secretly has 2 task force members who were celestial warriors? As these questions were raised in his mind Gensho had already started walking at a brisk pace. An anxious feeling was welling up inside him for the safety of the priestess, for she was in some danger. With the special item he could talk to Namame on his way to the priestess' location. He prayed the priestess would know she could always rely on 'Genbu's Protection' in any situation.

Assassin Namame
~~~~~~~
Location : Temple of Oroko
With : High Priestess Hyue | Healer Suzume
~~~~~~~

Warmth.

Namame always found this sensation to be of an uncanny thing to experience. Winters were scarce and severe for someone as sensitive as him in terms of body senses, leaving him to groow used to the cold after all these years. Heat was something his insticts urged him to pursue in such cases, either by tugging the Nue on his right shoulder or approaching a source who graced him with it. But never quite what he felt at this exact moment, brought upon the busom of an older woman, gently holding him, filling his body with a warmth whom he perceived as nothing but foreign. It was this same warmth that led him to realize his condition, to let his thoughts assemble clearly, to comprehend what was happening. The voice that abruptly reached his ears was the breaking point of this realization, making Namame pull away from the woman clumsily, ending up falling flat on the floor, his face burning at the prospect of being so close to one of the opposite gender. She was somewhat baffled by his action but soon a faint smile came to her and she casually turned to face the newcomer, to which the Celestial Warrior could only find as teasing in this scenario, given both her behavior and words so far, flustering him even further.

"Lady Suzume." In her soft, velvet-like voice, the Head Priestess bowed before the somewhat cheeky young woman, greeting her politely as if nothing had happen. "I welcome you in this fine day and thank you deeply for your presence here among us. Forgive me for troubling you with our affairs but, as you can see, we had a most unexpected guest today whose injury has proven to be beyond our skill." Humility was clear within her words, which further complimented her approach. She placed a hand upon Namame's shoulder, aiding him in standing on his own two feet once again. "Come, child. Lady Suzume is here to save you from your crippling state." Two women approached the boy in quiet steps, leading him to the bed where he lied previously. "A-Ah, Head Priestess, the wound...it re-opened!" One of them gasped in terror as her eyes stared at the back of his head. But the woman in purple soon set her at ease with her kind gestures alone. "Lady Suzume, we place our trust upon your abilities."

All the while the presences of the room exchange words, Namame's attention was guided elsewhere, particularly towards the Task Force members lying against the walls of the room, trapped in a state of unconscious, assisted by other women among those under the woman in purple. At last finding himself in a more calm demeanor, thoughts began to assemble in his mind, studying the situation at hand and his next actions. The most important goal as of now was to find Koi and make sure no threat would come to her. But to achieve it, he had to first and foremost locate her and devise a plan of action to retriev her to his side. And the only way to gain the access to do so could only be accomplished by relying in none other than the testemony of the two men who seemed to have brought him to this temple. Ignoring waht the female newcomer had or not come here to do, Namame searched through his clothes the device Gensho had left him. But the sight of it drove him to be corrupted by guilt, seeing how he had failed his mission as Celestial Warrior. And when he had left him and Koi, no less. He had forsaken the trust he had placed on him...

But what was done was done. All there was left was to contact him, to inform the fellow Warrior of the demise of his performance and hope that doing so would improve their chances at rescuing the Priestess. From whom, however? Perhaps the man who had saved them from further involving in a fight they could not win? If so...why? Could his action had simply been a foil to capture Koi and...and...aagh, he had to find her, he had to find her at once! He brought his lips close to the stone, urging his throat to not fail him this time around.
"G-Gensho..." He paused, assembling the right words to phrase. "Koi is in danger, taken. I...I was careless, I'm s-sorry. Temple of Oroko. I'm there. We...We need to find her." This should be enough, he thought as he stared directly at the object, having spoken in whispers. He did not await for a response, there was no time. Gensho would understand his urgency, he knew it. "Sword." He finally raised his voice, facing the woman known as the Head Priestess, Hyue. "...You wish to see your sword." She nodded her head lighty, quickly comprehending his chouce of words. "You do not need it. Not yet." He was ready to respond when the older woman raised a hand, preventing him from doing so. "Waving around a blade won't aid you in the quest to find your friend." Her statement cut sharp upon his intentions, as he realized the foolishness of his plan. She was right, if anything, the men would spit in his face. Task Force members would surely not succumb to his threats so easily as he thought...

Hyue gazed at the young boy with a serene gaze for a brief moment before turning her attention towards one of the young women.
"Was his head the only place wounded by the attacker, Ming Pao?" Namame would soon be brought back to the matter at hand, as a hand pulled his upper clothes down. "A-Ah...!" "Calm down, we're just making sure you have no other injuries..." Ming Pao reassured him as gently as she could but even that could not calm the nervous boy down. And so, the character symbol was revealed before the eyes of those who had focused their attention on him. Even when he desperatly tried to conceal it, the damage was already done. Hyue now stared at him, wide-eyed, breaking the façade of serene and tranquile leader she had this whole time. She was absolutely baffled by the sight of the proof that the boy before her was one of the Celestial Warriors. But...something felt...different from her when he compared it to the reaction of her underling. Sadness tainted her eyes. In a way that he would never imagine.

"...H-Head Priestess--!" "He is fine. Thank you, Ming Pao." Her response came sharp as ever, as she reverted back to her original front. Or so it seemed. Her feet took to her close to one of the Task Force members. Silent, she pressed her fingers against his forehead, closing her eyes. There she stood, her head down, as if sleeping peacefully...

What could she be doing...?

What: Trying to see to Namame's injuries and finding out he's a fellow Seishi

The formal address - Lady Suzume - elicited the profound effect of making the blonde seishi's eyebrows lift even higher, though her teasing expression remained on her fine-boned features. While courteous enough to hold her laughter at bay at Namame's flustered embarrassment, she found no need to do the same when the holy woman turned her attention to her arrival; good natured mirth spilled out of that expressive mouth, the rapping hand pulling away from the wood to wave up and down in an airy fashion. "Ah, Hyue, how many times do I have to tell you? Suzu's just fine," she told her. "Besides, I'm sure there's a few roughnecks out there who probably think calling me a lady is stretching the term. But yeah, you can leave him to me, I'll do what I can."

Emerald irises flicked over to unconscious Task Force members, but the bulk of her attention fell on the boy being helped up; with his length of dark hair, his apparent age - no more than sixteen, by her estimate - and demeanor, stubborn and driven towards a purpose of which she had only the faintest guess. He was mostly expressionless, but he had a harried air about him as he struggled with his current benefactors, how he practically lunged for his belongings to search for something. There were plenty of cursory aspects about him that reminded her of Ryuuhou, who was just as hardheaded and stalwart...dead now, having given his life to the defense of his sisters when he was about Namame's age.

For all of her assertions that she would see to the boy posthaste, she didn't move - at least not yet - from where she stood, observing him with the practiced patience of one more accustomed to the rush of quicksilver decisions; having the time to actually do so was a relief, and one that she wasn't prone to squandering when presented with it.

His whispers, too, were urgent; too faint for everyone else in the room to hear, but not for someone who had an acute command of sound, a fact that she had kept secret outside of a chosen few. As she waited, she slid a hand in one pocket of her worn, wine-red jacket, toying thoughtfully with its lining. Gensho, Koi (she briefly paused there, wondering whether it was written as 'Love' or 'Fish'), both names that she never heard of, but despite her travels, she had never given herself over to the conceit of knowing absolutely everyone she met on the road.

She sighed, pulling her fingers through her pale hair, tossing it over her shoulder as she finally strode inside the room with an unhurried, lofty swagger. It spoke of the brash, capable confidence she didn't always feel, but giving others that impression more often helped than hindered, especially when situations were dire and difficult. Credibility, after all, was an exercise in the manipulation of perceptions. Turning to Hyue, she flashed the Head Priestess a wink.

"That was one power I wish I had, Your Holiness," she told her. "Just walking into a room and getting everyone else to shut up and listen. Did that come naturally, or did it take years of practice? You taking any students?"

To the group clustered around the patient, she continued moving in that direction, fingers rolling her cuffs upward, with every intent to finish her business here as quickly as possible. The faster she was done, the sooner she could get on the road. "Alright," she said, nodding to the other junior priestesses and inclining her head towards the young man. "You heard the lady, you're not going to be of any help to anyone if you're hurt. That and I think fighting in the condition you're in would only worry whoever it is you're trying to get to, so let's go ahead and get you fixed so you can kick the asses that need kicking this evening, okay?"

As she spoke, one of the priestesses took the opportunity to strip Namame's shirt off him. Whatever other entreaties she was prepared to say perished on the vine.

She stared at the mark etched on his left collarbone, wrought on a youthful physique that either spoke of harsh training or laborious living, the sight of it leaving an impression not unlike getting crushed under a sudden rockslide at the sheer weight of the toils and responsibilities that it represented. While her earlier observations of him had reminded her superficially of her older brother, being confronted by one of the major reasons why left the next few words stuffed harshly at the back of her throat, left to wonder whether those who carried similar burdens were naturally predisposed to similar temperaments.

And he was so young. Too young.

Her heart sank.

He should be spending his days running around with his friends, giving his father headaches. Playing pranks on villagers, trying to impress pretty girls and enjoying his youth before he finds out how hard the rest of his life was going to be, not...

"Ahhhh, crap," she said out loud, scrubbing the side of her face with one hand. "I guess I'm going to have to work a little faster than I was already planning on doing." Moving over, she reached out in an effort to take Namame by the arm, to guide him to lying back on the bed.

"Looks like you and I have more in common than I thought," she muttered lowly towards the other Celestial Warrior, keeping her words away from the ears of the other priestesses. "But first thing's first, I have to fix your head wound and make sure you won't suddenly die on the road because of a clot. I'll try to be fast, because I know you're anxious to get out of here."

The tension on her features melted away slowly, replaced by a gentler look that reached her clear, green gaze. "I'm not going to hurt you," she continued, her tone adopting softer, more reassuring tones. "Okay?"

Imperial Librarian Kailai Wen (Tomo)

Location: Living room, Wen compound

What am I Doing? Accepting my duty as Tomo.

Kailai nodded, his lips quirking upward. He supposed it was a good thing for the Kutou Empire that the priestess of Seiryuu was enthusiastic about her task. Though what Mei planned on saving Kutou from…that was still to be seen. At the very least, Mei didn’t appear to be selfish. Kailai spread the Seiryuu scroll on the table, displaying it for all those present to see. “The details of the summoning are written here. Upon summoning Seiryuu, you will be granted three wishes. One of which, I hope you’d use for the prosperity of Kutou and its citizens. The other two…,” Kailai shrugged. “Are yours to do as you will.”

Looking up at Mei, Kailai spoke kindly. “You are right. The tasks before you will be difficult, not just the arduous job of gathering the celestial warriors, but also the responsibilities that come with bearing the title, Priestess of Seiryuu. You carry on your shoulders the hopes of the people of Kutou—a heavy burden for one who wasn’t even born in our empire. For that, you have my sincerest gratitude.”

Hands in his sleeves, Kailai stood and bowed deeply, his hair falling over his shoulders. The slight parting of his hair revealed the mark on the back of his neck. “As the Celestial Warrior, Tomo, I shall do everything I can to support you in your task.”

He had spent a long time, a whole night, going back and forth, deciding whether or not to join the priestess of Seiryuu. In the end though, it all came down to responsibility. Was he ready to take on the burden he was born with? The burden that came with being one of Seiryuu’s warriors? Of course not. Why else had he hidden his name for so long? Yet Mei, a girl even younger than him, a girl not even of this world, had taken up the responsibility of Priestess of Seiryuu after only a minute of thought. It made him feel ashamed.

Kailai straightened. He would accept his duty as Tomo. As Tomo, he would dedicate his services to the Priestess of Seiryuu. But not as Kailai. As Kailai, his first duty would always be to his family, his friends, and the Kutou Empire. Should Mei prove to be a danger to any of those, then he wouldn’t hesitate to do what was necessary. Because, despite Mei’s friendly personality and apparent kindness, Kailai didn’t fully trust her yet. He didn’t know her. And, as a lover of books, Kailai knew better than to judge one by its cover.

"It was certainly better then sleeping on the ground that's for sure." She said as she sat down and relaxed in the chairs. She then glanced over at Mitsuhide as Kailai introduced him. Jun nodded over to him and noticed the look he gave her. Crap maybe I should hide my hair. She pulled her hood over head. She listened as Kailai began to speak She had already known this stuff he father use to pound it into her head. As Mei began to talk Jun wondered how Mei was just so easily ready for all this. To take on responsibility like that. Jun stomach turned into knots ever time she thought about the fact that she was next in line for the throne and the right thing to do would be to take the throne back. But she just wanted to keep running but for some darn reason she ended up back here. "Mei.....doesn't all this make you nervous? I mean aren't you afraid of screwing up? " She glanced over at her.

MEI-LIN SUNG

"So, three wishes, huh? Wow...well, it's a no brainer that I'd use it to save the Kutou Empire, no doubt! You have my promise here and now, Tomo!" She smiled to him then read over the scroll while listening to her host and warrior speak. Nodding at his words, she understood-rather, she had an idea, to be more realistic-what the severity of the situation was. What was thought of as her having a dream while passed out in the school library was all too real: she had traveled back in time to Ancient China, through a book portal, and was chosen to save this place, a place she had only heard about in History classes back in her hometown of Beijing. She looked to Jun, her eyes widened at her words. For some reason she felt compelled to stand up before the group, and as she began to speak the symbol on her forehead began to glow and pulse like a quiet heartbeat, little realizing she was using a special ability given to her as a Priestess of Seriyuu.

"To be honest, Jun, who isn't afraid to screw up in life?! Of course I'm scared to mess up, of course I'm nervous! I'm a stranger to this town, I was brought here without asking, and now given a task I never even dreamed of in my wildest imagination! But you know something? I accept it. I accept that I was brought back in time, I accept I was chosen for this monumental task, and I accept my role as Priestess of Seriyuu. There's nothing I can do to change that, but I'm gonna make the most of it and do better than my best to save these people, because these people are MY ancestors, and I respect each and every one of them! You all forget, I may be from 'another world,' but I too am Chinese! This is my heritage, and I will protect it! And with friends like you, Ashitare, Tomo and even Mitsuhide by my side, there's no way we can lose! This is still my homeland, my country, even if it is thousands of years in the past, and nothing is going to destroy what I hold dear!"

Spent, she fell into her chair, using her power over words unknowingly to boost the morale of herself and those in the room, feeling weakened with no clue as to why, the symbol of Seriyuu vanishing from her forehead. She took a deep breath, "Whew! That sure knocked the wind outta me!"

Warrior Toyu

Location: Heading into the Imperial Library -
Shunrou City.

What am I doing? : Seeking out information about the types of beasts that exist beyond the castle gates.

The Imperial Library was about the last place that you would find the likes of Toyu entering. It was more for the Intellectuals - the Shi (Historians) and the Wu (Diviners), than a man whose world revolved around physical combat and strength. Power of the mind was important in strategy, yes - but the Imperial library held documents that were not of how to better yourself, but more like "the country's statue books", genealogies of imperial kinsmen, issued notices and orders, and recorded important events and natural phenomena. It was the natural phenomena, or rather unnatural that Toyu wanted to learn more of. The beast attacks beyond the city gates, had been so devastating to the city's garrison as far as morale, that it needed to be investigated with an air of absolute caution. Warrior Toyu knew that the Imperial Librarians toiled under the order of the Emperor to meet the needs of more and more complicated affairs and so to ensure easy use, they began to collect and sort out those records according to chronological order and category. This would make finding the right information, both quick and efficient.

On arrival in the large warehouse like structure, Warrior Toyu removed his leather gloves and folded them together neatly, before pushing them through his waist belt, at the front left of his uniform. Met by an older scholar, Toyu asked where he might find the scrolls which would help him with his investigation about the night's attacks. As he was being shown through, he realized that Tomo was no where to be seen. The Warrior suspected, that he was most likely caught up with the strange girl that had arrived by carriage, and had been questioned at the gate. It was still in his mind, that this girl was indeed the Priestess. Toyu decided to ask the elder scholar of the whereabouts of the Imperial Librarian. Surely as the day marched on, he should already have had his morning meal and arrived at the Library.

"No sign of him yet, Lieutenant Toyu. Shall I say you are seeking him, when he returns from his home?"

The Warrior tried to brush it off. "No, I shall be beyond the gates by the time he comes no doubt. Now, about those beast attacks. Tell me old man, have you heard of a beast that can kill twelve men in an instant?" Toyu's right brow shot up quizzically, as the older scholar wrang his hands nervously. Not since he was a boy himself, had he heard tales of such creatures that roamed and destroyed brave young men in rows. He muttered and spluttered, and you could see beads of sweat appearing on his forehead. The old scholar then beckoned the statuesque warrior to bend down to him, as though he had a great secret to tell.

"My eyes may be falling, and my ears no longer hear well, but my mind is still as young as it was in the days of my youth. I have read the lore and the scrolls that spoke of creatures that come....right before...."

"Right before what?"

"It's....its a sign."

The man spoke as though it was some great mystery, but before Toyu could ask another question, the tiny wrinkled man then handed the Warrior a great pile of scrolls. Some so old that you could hear the crinkle of the papers. But the way that the old scholar handed them over, it was more like he himself didn't want to touch them. As though...evil itself had been written down and saved for just this moment. The scholar then placed a hand on Toyu's forearm and uttered.

"It will take more than an Emperor's army to defeat...."

That said, he then hurried off, into the depths of the library, leaving Toyu standing there - wondering just what the hell was outside the gates. Toyu glanced outside to the market and then knew that he couldn't spend much longer dwelling in the hallowed halls of the Imperial Library. Perhaps his greatest test lay well beyond the gates. He still felt the burning of the mark beneath his tunic, and while he could have read through each scroll, the real answers to this.....lay with a certain young girl. Dumping the scrolls on a bench, he marched with purpose out into the sunlight and headed himself for the Wen compound.

Mitsuhide

Location: Linving room, Wen compound

Activity: Thinking while Kailai is explaining

Mitsuhide nodded in acceptance of the complement that Mei gave him about the fan. As Kailai sat down and started to explain, Mitsuhide kept standing his thoughts drifting off. Only when others were talking did he intent to listen a bit. Just to make certain he didn't miss anything important. Having already read the scroll, Mitsuhide knows what Kailai is explaining to them. While Kailai is talking Mitsuhide eyes fall once again on Jun, he can't really pinpoint it but something about her is familiar. In his mind Mitsuhide can still see the hair as it was before she hid it with her hood. '
Hmmm she must be hiding something, why else would she suddenly pull her hood over her hair. And why have I got the feeling that I've read something about her....' Thinking back all that comes to mind are symbols. One symbol keeps popping up in his head over and over again, it's the royal seal of Konishi. 'There is no way a girl connected to royalty is out in the world like that. Did I see a mark or something that would make her a guard orso?'. Mitsuhide has not paid attention to what is going on in the world. Only things that interest him are what concerns himself.

While Mitsuhide has been standing there thinking about why Jun would seem familiar, he completely stopped paying attention to what is happening. Missing even the speech that Mei was giving, although he did notice the fact that she collapsed into her chair. That action was actually what interrupted Mitsuhide's thoughts. He looked at her just in time to see the symbol vanishing from her forehead. 'So she is indeed the priestess.', Mitsuhide thinks forgetting his doubts about Jun for now.

Pastless Wanderer Ashitare

Location: At the Wen Compound

Mood: Quiet

What am I Doing? Listening to Mei

Accompanying the others to the living room he sat in a guilded chair beside the other two as Mitsuhide arrived with Tomo. Ashitare sat there taking all the information in. He would rather be listen then interject. At most he gave a polite nod when he was mentioned, but overall was motionless. Thoughts raced through the vast maze of his mind. The idea of being a celestial warrior moved through the maze, stopping as he reached the dead end where his memories were lost. He felt a sense of familiarity with the term. As if he knew it before he lost his memory. Time stood still for him, as he grew up in the forest only vaguely knowing his past. I am a celestial warrior. The statement felt like an absolute, his body recognized it as the truth. Placing his hand atop of where his celestial mark was he looked back at Tomo and listened.

Absorbing each bit of information into his mind he remembered when he got his name. While living in the forest he didn't have a need for a name. He could live on without relying on anything other than his instincts. However, when he met Rima she told him about his mark and it's name. So he dawned the only name he knew Ashitare, but he did not know how important it really was.
A celestial warrior... I wonder, what that truly means. What am I destined for? These questions ran through his head as he sat there his eyes steady and calm. He looked at every person who was in the room, wondering if they were Celestial warriors as well.

He then turned his head to Mei waiting for her reaction.
I wonder how she will take this news. The idea of all that responsibility thrust upon her must be intimidating to say the least. He watch as she thought about the whole situation, taking the responsibility in. He couldn't help but smile at her response. Her enthusiasm was a pleasant surprise he chuckled and looked back to Tomo. When Tomo accepted his duty as a celestial warrior, Ashitare felt motivated to do the same. Yet, he remained quiet in motionless. His reason for coming was to find Rima, not to take on a ancient responsibility. To him finding Rima was the most important task to him. He wanted to know she was safe and find out why she hadn't come for him. However, he knew if Rima learned that he passed up the opportunity to help the priestess and the celestial warriors to find her, she would scold him thoroughly.

Ashitare turned to Jun as she spoke up, he wondered the same thing. However, he smiled knowing what Mei would say. He smiled at her speech and covered his mouth as she plopped into the chair, hiding a laugh. He wasn’t much of a talker, but he spoke up now. Walking over to stand beside Mei he placed his hand over his heart and bowed to her. “Miss Mei your enthusiasm has motivated me. It would be my honor to be by your side as you collect the celestial warriors." He lifted his head up and smiled at her warmly, "I know you will be successful."

Imperial Librarian Kailai Wen (Tomo)

Location: Living room, Wen compound

What am I Doing? Gives Mei Seiryuu scroll. Offers to prepare horses and supplies. Suggests Mei, Ashitare, and Jun go enjoy themselves in the city.

A parculiar feeling washed over Kailai as he listened to Mei stand up and speak. Perhaps it was the glow of her celestial symbol which marked her as the Priestess of Seiryuu. Or perhaps it was the charismatic way in which she declared her intentions. Whichever the case, Kailai found himself trusting her words—an odd thing considering Kailai’s own doubtful nature. Maybe Mei, a young priestess from another world, really could bring about great changes to the Kutou Empire; just as the legends described. Kailai grinned. It was a relieving thought.

“Your brave words have inspired me as well, Lady Mei” Kailai said, examining Mei thoughtfully. “Courage truly befitting of the Priestess of Seiryuu.” The Imperial Librarian mused. Then he smiled wryly. “Take the scroll. It will help you in locating the celestial warriors. All of them should have the character of a Seiryuu constellation somewhere on their body,” The Imperial Librarian glanced briefly at Mitsuhide before returning gaze to Mei. It was up to Mitsuhide when he decided to reveal himself as celestial warrior. Kailai wouldn’t betray his friend’s trust by revealing the court treasurer’s secret, even to the Priestess of Seiryuu. Perhaps Mitsuhide wanted to gauge for himself what sort of person Mei was before telling her. Or perhaps he would not tell her until all the celestial seven were gathered. Either way it didn’t matter. Kailai was confident that Mitsuhide would be present at the summoning of Seiryuu. Two down. Five more to find.

“Also, know that the Wen Family finance will be at your disposal should you ever require it,” Kailai continued smoothly. With his father currently away on business and his elder brothers not at home, it was up to him represent their family in the presence of the priestess. He doubted they would mind once he told them that it was for the Priestess of Seiryuu. After all, his father was more pious than he was regarding the Azure Dragon of the East. “I shall have our servants prepare horses and supplies for whenever you're ready to begin your journey in search for the celestial seven. In the meantime, if I may make a suggestion, why don't you, Jun, and Ashitare take your time and enjoy what Kutou's capital has to offer. I doubt you got a chance to see much of the city with everything that happened last night and I'd hate for your memories of Shunrou to only be of the Wen compound."

Kailai turned to Mitsuhide, his expression sheepish. “Mitsuhide, if you’ve got the time, would you mind being their guide? Mei, Jun, and Ashitare have just recently arrived at the city and they probably aren't too familiar with the streets of Shunrou. I’d go myself, but I'm needed here to direct preparations." There were also other things he had to take care of. "Oh, and one more thing,” Kailai moved towards the window and opened it. On cue, a falcon flew through the opening, circling the group twice before landing on Mei's shoulder. Kailai smiled. “If you do leave the Wen Compound, Lady Mei, please take Senru with you. Whenever you need to contact me, for any reason, just tell her. Senru’s smart, fast, and usually has no problems finding me." Senru would also notify Kailai if anything should happen to the priestess of Seiryuu. Kailai knew that Jun, Ashitare, and possibly Mitsuhide would be with Mei, but he didn't like leaving things to chance, especially since he didn't know how well Ashitare and Mitsuhide would fare in combat. As for Jun, she appeared to be Mei's friend, and he didn't dislike her, but he didn't completely trust her either. She seemed nervous, fidgety, and kept trying to tug her hood ever since coming to his home. It was almost as if she was hiding something.

Jun was taken back by Mei. Her symbol started glowing on her head and she went into this speech. Jun listened to her speak but she was mostly staring at her head. When Mei finished Jun sat there thinking to herself. "Better person then I am." She mumbled to herself. Jun watched the others reaction and seemed very motivated. Not her though she just wanted to get out of the city but it seemed like she might be stuck here. She heard Kailai mention them touring and taking a look around. Oh maybe I could vist my old spot. "That's a great idea!" Jun said suddenly standing up. "I mean uh it seems like it couls be fun."

MEI-LIN SUNG

Mei was stunned when Ashitare bowed to her, and she felt her heart race when she met his gaze, a dark blush crossing her otherwise pale cheeks. She smiled to him, "No need to bow, silly! We're friends, remember? I might be the Priestess and all, but I still consider you and Jun, and Tomo and Mitsuhide all my new friends, and we should treat each other as such!" She giggled lightly, nodding with a grin, then looked to Tomo. Her eyes widened a bit, "F-finance? You mean like, money? Aw, geez, Tomo, you don't have to go and do all that, I would feel horrible taking anything from you!" She felt awkward about taking money from others, then had a thought, "Tell ya what, if I do borrow anything, I'll replace it right away, so it'll be more like borrowing for emergencies only and I'd reimburse you! Does that sound fair?"

Then Mei looked to Jun, who seemed to be very excited about taking a tour of the city. Mei beamed, "I agree, we can all enjoy ourselves today, and maybe tomorrow we can prepare for our journey, so then by the third day we'd be ready to go!" She nodded, "A good plan!" She rose also, then saw Tomo open a window, and a falcon flew in and landed on her shoulder. She gasped lightly, startled at first, but relaxed once Tomo introduced it as Senru. Mei smiled and pet the falcon lightly, "Aw, Tomo, she's gorgeous!" She began talking to the bird now, "Hey, sweetie, nice to meet you! Senru is a pretty name, and you're a very pretty bird!" She grinned in delight and nodded to Tomo, "Got it, I'll do just that! Thank you so much, Tomo, you're very kind!" She gave a light bow, careful not to disturb the falcon resting on her shoulder. She turned to Ashitare and Jun, "You guys ready for the tour?" She looked to the scroll and picked it up, "I'll definitely keep this close to me, I really hope we can find all Seven Celestial Warriors soon. It won't be easy, but we can do it, right guys?" She smiled to everyone, her attitude very optimistic.

Pastless Wanderer Ashitare

Location: At the Wen Compound

Mood: Honored

What am I Doing? Talking with the others.

Ashitare, smiled at Mei and nodded politely. He regretfully, turned his gaze away from Mei as he looked to Tomo. He stood up and listened to Tomo as he spoke. Politely listening to what he had to say. As he began to talk about touring the city Ashitare knew he would have to interject. Earlier in the morning he had the chance to wander the city and now had a question for the current head of the Wen family.

He gave a respectful bow to Tomo and spoke humbly. "I am deeply honored by your kindness Lord Wen. I am sure the others will enjoy the day out." He paused for a moment and sighed. "Yet I must sadly say I cannot go. I already spent the morning wandering the city and more importantly have a private matter I wish to discuss with you Lord Wen." He turned back to Mei and Jun giving a charming smile. "Besides I hear that the girls wanted to spend some time together and I think I'd only get in the way of their fun." He turned back to him and gave a deep bow.

Mitsuhide

Location: Wen compount

Mood: pressured

As Kailai asks Mitsuhide to give the group a tour, Mitsuhide takes his time to consider it. Meanwhile Mei gets enthusiastic about getting a tour through the city, and even Jun seems excited about it. Mitsuhide decides to decline, but as he notices the way Mei and Jun are acting, he decides to at least go with them to keep Mei safe. Mainly because the legend tells that Mei is important to the country's future. Mitsuhide looks at Kailai annoyance somewhat showing on his face, "
Do mind that I am not that familiar with the streets. You know how I spent my leisure time when I'm not busy for the treasury.", he sighs, "But I will go along with them, even if it is only to make certain that Mei xi?ng? will be safe. ". Having made his choice Mitsuhide makes a formal bow to Kailai to emphasize that he doesn't want to go, but goes because he feels it is his duty. Next he turns to go but waits first for Mei and Jun to leave, and then follows them at a pace of their setting.

Where: Shunrou City, Wen Compound

What: Waiting to meet the Lord and his guests

Who:

@Helral @DarlingWaylonPark @animegirl20 @The Suspicious Eye @QuirkyAngel

A large man came out to greet him or perhaps brush him off would seem more appropriate for the situation. Still Jian couldn't find it in himself to blame the man, too many a guard duties marked his past not to feel a bit of empathy. Long periods of inactivity and boredom brought forth irritability in the best of men. Still he'd come too close to be brushed off this easily, setting his shoulders determinedly Jian was all the more surprised when the warrior was yelped before he could respond.

The old servant went into chiding the younger guardsman in a fashion that seemed all too natural even as she began walking toward the main compound, visitor in tow. “There's no need to apologize ma'am. I have no right to demand hospitality, but gratefully accept it. Sadly the maidens name is unknown to me, a.. friend merely divulged her location.” He followed an arms length behind, taking in the compounds simple yet elegant design. “I've heard of the beast which roams outside the city..” a pause, “worrisome and brave, indeed. I will pray for their save return.” Was it alright for to pursue this personal quest when his blade could be put to use for king and kingdom?

Jian was still engaged in his internal struggle when the elderly servant bid him to wait in an elongated hallway. Folding his arms the wanderer nodded and settled in for a wait, expectantly glancing toward the doorway his guide had just disappeared through. Meanwhile the servant padded away, steps softly echoing on the polished wood. Approaching the assembly room she cleared her throat to draw Lord Wen's attention, waiting to be addressed before announcing. “Apologies Lord, there is an unannounced visitor who wishes to speak you and your guests; though he seems unsure of with whom his business is.”
