Fandom Fullmetal Alchemist: The Second Homunculus War (REBOOT)

Four Thousand Club
In the mid 1940's, during WWII, the Allied forces were taking heavy losses. Our major military bases had been bombed repeatedly over the course of war. The Axis where closing in on us, and it seemed as if all hope was lost. In a desperate attempt to defeat the German war machine and their comrades, we took a history lesson far back in the past. A history lesson on alchemy. You have to understand, we were desperate. Desperate enough to believe that a couple of recluse men could seemingly create fire from thin air or create objects with circles with strange and obscure signs on them. And you know what? We were right. With a few months of training, we had a new breed of soldiers, ready to fight for their countries. The next generation of 'State Alchemist'. The tides of war changed. We were no longer the ones fighting in vain. The Axis were. 1995, Japan surrendered. Yes, that was fine and all, but there was one thing we couldn't understand- We hadn't done anything. They accused of using our accursed alchemy, Tojo's words, not mine, to destroy Hiroshima and Nagasaki. We were so filled with joy, that we didn't take in account on just how bad this could be. I mean, if we didn't destroy Hiroshima and Nagasaki, then who did? Whatever the answer, it can't be good..... Not good at all.

Joseph rolls to the side, narrowly avoiding the barrage of icicles that had been shot at him. "Inferno, we're calling in Mae's!" Said one of the soldier's who were accompanying Joseph. Joseph began to snap his fingers before an icicle tore through the ignition gloves clothe, rendering it useless. "I can handle this!" He said, zigg-zagging towards the alchemist in front of him. He had been assigned to tracking down a rouge State Alchemist by the name of Nicholas Flamel. "Get back!" Nicholas said, clapping together his gauntlet's before swinging his hands forward in an arc, creating a snow wave that was heading straight towards Joseph. Joseph rolled to the side once more before another wave of snow hit him square in the chest, sending him hurtling towards the ground. Before he had a chance to get back up, the snow froze over his chest, pinning him to the ground as Nicholas came closer. "Okay, call Mae's! Call Mae's!"

Eddie had been placed within the town just in case Joseph got into trouble. More or less from her own accord from him being one of the people she had under her wing. However, before the call had came in, she was enjoying a nice glass of tea and the waiter had yet to leave her side. Before the cup had even reached her lips, her ears caught the sound of a phone ringing. Not long after that, the man who had accompanied her seemed to appear by her side telling her the news. Groaning, she put the glass down and stood up to leave, her money next to the cup to pay for her unconsumed tea. "I know it was a lot to hope for him to last until I got halfway through my glass, but before I even got a sip... He owes me a drink and he is going to be training a lot harder when he gets back." She grumbled while storming out of the small cafe to where her military issued motorcycle was parked. Grabbing her helmet and placing it on her head before getting on the bike, her male companion doing the same, however taking the seat behind her.

As soon as the engine roared to life, she gave it gas and the two were off with a small cloud of dirt trailing behind them from the wheels. The wind racing past them as they speed forward to where Joseph and Nicholas were. "When we get there, get Flame boy a good distance away. Patch him up, and do not let him jump in until you're done." Her tone was serious and unmistakable, even with the wind howling at them. Minutes passed before she could see their forms in the distance. She turned her head a little to give a nod to the man behind her before she made her next move.

It took only seconds for her stand upon the seat of her bike and jump off, leaving the man still on it to slide into her seat and steady the bike as if nothing had happened. He sped up and passed her while she was in the air and that was when her wristlets activated and morphed into her specialized gauntlets. Before gravity pulled her fully to the ground, her arm swung back and a loud boom could be her as she was propelled forward by the explosion. She soared through the air with faster than the bike had ever taken her, with another shot from her gauntlets, she halved the distance between her and her target.

Her heart hammered in her chest as she gave one more blast, and it sent her straight into the sky where she allowed herself to drop in to intercept Nicholas before he could get too close to Joseph. Before had hit the ground however, she had slammed her fists together and used her alchemy to allow the recoil to blunt her fall enough to not hurt her, however there was a nice sized crater where she had landed kneeled on one knee. Rising up, she took off her helmet and held it on her hip while her lilac eyes stared straight at Nicholas. A man she knew faintly off and had worked with for a very short time. Maybe a mission once when she had just started out, but needless to say, the name was familiar.

"Sorry, but Flame Boy over there can't continue playing with you. Though I'm free for now, how bout it Nicky?" Eddie asked with a grin, her tone was even light, however their was something there. Something beneath the playful air she let out, it was deadly and grim. Her back remained facing Joseph and she didn't look back at him once, however the man she had came with showed up a few minutes later with the bike and had loaded him onto it relaying to the young man what the female Major had ordered to be done.

((Long post is long, and you can say he got patched up and the ice off of him in your post, then Joseph can jump back in.))

As the man attempted to heft Joseph onto the motorcycle, Joseph began to protest before he told him to calm down, repeating the orders that were given to him from Mae's. Joseph sulked at the sound of her name, glaring up into the sky, day dreaming about the punishment that would inevitably come. Once the man broke the ice that held Joseph down, he stood sat on the back of the bike. The man drove off to a roadblock that had been set up to prevent Nicholas from escaping. Once he was there, Joseph walked up to a small container and opened it. Inside where rifles, pistols, and other military weaponry, along with a spare Ignition glove Joseph had brought with him. As he slipped it on, a medic looking over a few wounds he had received, he began to talk with Mae's assistant.

"Tea or alcohol?"

"Tea."

"Did she finish it?"

"She didn't even get to drink it."

"Oh god..... Was it that expensive Jasmine crap or something."

"Yep."

"And I guess she wants me to pay for it, right?"

"Yep."

"Got any advice?"

"I think your really lucky, you know. Most people only have two legs, but you're gonna have an extra one right up your-"

"Okay, I get it."

---------------------

Nicholas jumped back to avoid the shards of concrete the had shot out when Mae's landed. His already irregular breathing worsened at her sight. "The Dragon Alchemist," He whispered to himself. Hoping to catch her off guard, midway through her sentence, Nicholas slapped his gauntlets together before he slammed them onto the ground. The ground around Eddie turned into a large patch of ice before three icicles shot p from under the ground, all three flying towards Eddie.

Hiroko looked out onto the battlefield with his eyes. This power he had was something that was very useful. More Americans. Fighting as usual. Father Told him to watch, but his body just wanted to deliver some punishment...He sat down and closed his eyes for a second

Addison smiled for the first time in a while he had time off from the hectic like of a military man and more so a state alchemist, he had time off but what to do with that time was the question. Maybe he could stop by his mothers house its been a while since he left nearly twenty years now he still visits every now and again but never for long to many memories he has long since tried to forgot so he decided against visiting is mother for now anyway. Now that he thought about it they was one thing he hadn't done in a while which he could do was play the piano, he loved every aspect about the piano the sound of it the way it plays the fact that its not an easy instrument to play but yet Addison could play it with ease. As he was going about his day nothing nothing was wrong with it well until he heard a loud bang nearby one which he could already tell what caused it as they was only two people at the moment who he could think could do that one was his major better know as the The Dragon Alchemist the other was a fellow comrade working under the major as well better know as the The Inferno Alchemist but judging by how the noise was the best bet would be his major.

Addison sighed. "Its not my job for today, its not my job for today." Addison muttered to himself but it was to no avail as Addison couldn't help but go and see what the problem was. Sprinting around a few corners to where the mysterious large amount of dirt and gravel shot up into the air, he arrived at the scene much to what he was expecting, the Major stood in a rather nicely sized crater a normal scene when you have this women as a commander. It seemed she was going to be the one fighting him and since well if anyone knows about the Dragon alchemist you'll know to do one thing and that's run, Addison decided not to let that happen and as he wasn't spotted he decided to use that to his advantage.

Sprinting back a little he ran back around the corner until he ended up behind the area where Nicholas, the man they was fighting was. Stepping slightly forward in between two sets of buildings he quietly knelt down and placed his left hand with his glove on the floor and transmuted the floor up to the very top of the buildings into a large wooden wall in which he simply leaned against. "No where to run now Nicky boy." Addison said smiling. "Even off duty I manage to do more work than that fire using ape." Addison said shaking his head, he didn't have something against The inferno alchemist other than the fact wood and fire don't mix. "Well major he's all your now plus he has not where to run." Addison said smirking he always like watching a cornered rat fight as they say a cornered rat fights the hardest.

Eddie didn't seem fazed at how he tried to catch her off guard. In fact, his planned seemed to work with how she had stayed in her spot and the three icicles had collided together with a crash and created a large cloud of steam, or was it dust. However, when something shot out of that cloud the moment the crash could be heard, they could see a flash of gold heading straight at Nicholas before it exploded a few feet in front of him, creating an even larger cloud of smoke and dust with surprisingly no debri that was kept in his area thanks to Addison and his wood wall. As grateful as she was now, she would be scolding him later for coming so close to this. What was missed was the second gold flash that had curved around from the back of the ice cloud to behind Nicholas.

Normally she would have added a witty remark about how they'll play rough from now, but considering she left her tea for this, she wasn't in the mood to joke as much as she normally would be. So all Nicholas got was a silent but powerful punch coming at him from behind.

Nicholas was caught off guard himself by the first attack and just barely managed to transmute a ice dome around him. He huddled up and braced himself but the fist never hit the dome. It simply exploded a few feet away, causing the dome to shake. He grinned slightly, happy. Before the back of the dome blew up, sending him face first into the wall in front of him. He rubbed his aching head before he turned to leave the dome. He rounded it and stared at Eddie, still grinning- Before Joseph tackled and began to strangle him. "Ha! Thought you got rid of me, eh!?" Nicholas began to gasp for air, barely puttering out the words 'Uncle'.

Eddie's gauntlets went back to being wristlets as she walked toward Joseph and Nicholas. While tearing Joseph off of Nicholas, she knocks Nicholas out with a well aimed punch to the head with only enough force to keep him under for a few hours before putting her lilac on Joseph, her lips pushed into a thin line. "Considering he had you pinned and I had to come save you, you shouldn't be grinning there Joseph." With that she let go of the back of his shirt and let him fall on his butt. Throwing Nicholas over her shoulder she gave him a disappointed glance before walking toward the roadblock where her assistant put the anti-alchemy cuffs on Nicholas.

"Here is your man, he was detained successfully with minor damage. Any notes on his status that may require any attention are the large bump he is going to have on his head in a few hours." The woman turned her head to look over her shoulder at the dark haired male while she handed Nicholas off to the group of military alchemist who had drove their to take him to the specialized prison the military had for rogue alchemists. As soon as the car was gone she turned and fully stared down Joseph with her arms crossed. "Your orders were to track and detain only. Not to suffocate him. " While she was talking about a traitor, that still didn't make his defying of orders right. Especially when that was the big thing she went over with all of the people who served under her. Mostly because she wants them to not needlessly kill people like some of the other alchemists she had to have been paired with in her years of being one. Speaking of which, she needed to scold Addison at some point, but for now she would let the matter rest since she wanted to leave the battlegrounds.

"You do that again and it might be you who's the one that I'll have to detain. Understand..."
Her tone left no room for argument but also had a slight note of concern, and as she knelt down to be eye level with the sitting fellow, with the straightest face she added, "Because of you making me lecture over something you should already know, you will handle the paperwork for this mission and you owe four more drinks." With that she gave him smirk while flicking his forehead before standing up and looking around. Something felt off, not that she could place what it was, from what she could see no out of the ordinary was watching what had went down. Yet there was a feeling, that they weren't alone, and it made her really want her tea. "Hurry up, I want to enjoy five nice glasses of Candied Lemon Tea paid by you."

Addison smirked it seemed as if he was forgotten the perfect time for him to get away before getting the scolding he was waiting for after all he was off duty and had some free time so why in gods name would he come to work, not to mention get caught up in a fight. Addison simply made the wood wall return to its original state or at least a state that would make it so that people could walk over it rather than having to go round it. Addison was straight ahead hoping to be able to sneak past the his commanding officer after all since he was off duty he also caused slightly more paper work as technically he was classed as a civilian. Addison began to whistle as he walked past Joseph and Edelyn to best cover was of course a simply whistling man who just happened to be passing by hopeful he could get away with it.

Blake simply stared at Eddie, his right eye twitching slightly. If she were any other person, he would have killed her by now. But, since she was his commanding officer, he had to do what she said. And, to him, everything she told him to do was the definition of boot licking. The only good thing she ever made him do was paper work. If there was anything he loved more than strawberries, it was paper work. Anything to keep him busy and stop him from going on a killing spree was heaven.

Blake sighed as she spoke and pulled out his wallet. He didn't have a clue how much the tea would cost but if it was as much as he thought it was, he would be homeless after all this. He handed her 200 Cen and grimaced. "Is this enough to pay for your tea?" He turned to walk away before she could say anything and was surprised to see Addision trying to walk past them. "Tree hugger, where do you think you're going? Get back here, you were just as involved in that fight as I was. It's not like walls made of wood are just growing from the concrete around here."

Addison smirked as he nearly passed by Joseph and Edelyn a few more steps and he would have been home free, but of course that was too much to ask for wasn't it just three more small steps and of course the one to call him out on it was Joseph why wouldn't it be all some who controls fire is good for is blowing hot air. "Tree hugger?" Addison muttered as he turned around to face Joseph. "Go blow your hot air else where that's all your good at, if you didn't know i'm off duty oh and could you get back on the floor you seem to missed a spot of dirt ." Addison said smirking as he stook his head. "It seems that even as a floor cleaner you can't even do that job well." Addison stated he was talking about during the fight against Nicholas from what Addison saw and heard people talking about Joseph spent more time on the floor than actually fighting.

Addison did however turn back and walk towards his commanding officer less out of duty and more just out of respect for his commanding officer, if anything she deserved a little at the very least. He simply took a look at the time using his watch before placing his hands into his pockets hopefully he will still have enough time to practice his piano after all this was his last day off.

Eddie chuckled as she held the money he had given her in her hand. Placing it into her pouch, she followed Joseph and linked her arms with him and Addison. "Now, now. You'll both be coming with me." She says with a smile before it took an evil feel to it as she looked at Addison. "I was going to wait until later to yell at you since it is your day off and I rather not try to corner you in some random place, but since you're here... Might as well bite the bullet and get over with. Especially since you now have paperwork to do as well. Paperwork you caused with your stunt back there when you are technically a Civi." The blonde woman made sure to have a good grip on the two male's arms as she lead them in the direction of another small food place she knows about.

"And I'll be paying for your strawberries Joseph, you're going to need them since they have a new system you have to use to fill out the paperwork now." She explained with a dejected sigh. Paperwork was one of the things she hated doing the most, so when Joseph came it was blessing. "Addi, you on the other hand... You know better than to pull stunts while off duty. If a civilian were hurt by anything you did, you would be held responsible. Then your skills would mean nothing for it would seem you can't control them when they are need. Despite your prior history in the field, you would be labeled as a liability and most likely put to desk jobs for the rest of your career, or discharged depending on how severe the situation." For a second her lips pressed into a thin line before sighing and unhooking her arms from the two of them as they reached the small restaurant with the sign advertising fresh fruit and good food.

"You two are both good alchemists and people, I rather not see you give the higher ups anything they can stick you with if they make a mistake."
With that she waved to the waitress inside and before sitting down at one of the tables outside with a large smile as she ordered her tea, strawberries, and something for Addison as well. While most Majors would never say what she had just then, but not all Majors were like her in how she wouldn't beat around the bush with people. "Let's enjoy the fact that a mission was finished and none of us were hurt from it."

"Thanks, that's really kind of you." Joseph said, monotonously as he slid his ignition glove off and stuffed it into his pocket. No matter how much he wanted to run away, he didn't dare try. When it came to strength, Eddie was like an elephant in human form. Once they made it to the food mart, Joseph immediately picked out a box of strawberries. He walked towards the checkout aisle, waiting for Eddie, before a stranger with sunglasses on walked up to Joseph and slid 5 Cen to the cashier. "There you go, Joshie. You enjoy." Was all the man said before he turned to walk off. Joseph continued to stare at him, perplex for many reasons. Maybe it was just some an civilian trying to be nice. A civilian with ouroboros tattoo, Joseph thought to him self as the man turned to wave once more, revealing the tattoo on his hand. Joseph just stood there, eating strawberries as the man walked off.

Addison sighed he didn't fully expect Eddie to know that rule Addison himself knew the rule book forward and backwards and could even tell you every word from any page did he listen to it hell no he didn't. Once he was grabbed he knew it was game over he stood a whopping 0% chance to escape and he knew it. Wait they was a way to escape technically the fact he is currently a civi means this is assault but he decided to save that trump card for later but still a wide smirk covered his face and anyone that knew Addison knew he had something up his sleeve once that smirk happened.

Addison laughed when Eddie began talking like the higher ups would put him behind a desk. "Please they put me behind a desk they know sure as hell I would rather go rouge." Addison stated he wasn't afraid to state so even if he knew Eddie hated traitors Addison was a man who put his opinion of himself above most things putting him behind a desk would simply be insulting to him and would drag his own opinion way down. "Oh and I don't think I have any paper work to do." Addison said as a devilish smile appeared over his face. "Don't you agree Eddie or would you rather explain to the higher ups why you was seen dragging a civilian throughout the whole town or did you forget as of this moment i'm still classed as a civilian." Addison said still smirking trying to use fire against a devil probably wasn't the best idea. "Oh and the amount of paperwork you will have to fill out from that oh I would hate to be you then." Addison said as he stood up and bowed for the gesture as she did buy him a drink after all. He slowly walked away hoping he had said just enough to cause her not to follow.

"You go rogue and then you'll be detained, if not by myself personally, then by a higher up who would rather kill you than waste the space you take up." Eddie replies while sipping on her tea that was brought to her. "And you do, it has a statute of limitations of twelve hours, if you were to not do it then I would be obligated to report your misuse of alchemy, which I would do because all I need to do is walk to the Lieutenant Colonel and tell him so verbally." With that she placed her cup down and smiled back at him. "I'm not hauling a civilian any more Addi~" She chimed while leaning back and crossing her arm, her smile becoming more mischievous. " Technically you are a civilian who trespassed into zone that was quarantined by the state for a military operation. Not to mention that you used alchemy within it as well. Who knows why, maybe you were trying to hurt one of officers. Judging a person's motives are really hard to do you know. Especially if they are resisting to be monitor. Makes them more suspicious don't you think." Running her hand through her bangs, she kept her lilac orbs on Addison's face.

"Even if you are employee of the state, that would put a lot of paperwork on your shoulders, and only a little on mine, most of it being summed up in a verbal report... To think you choose to do that instead of going with a request from your Major to lend a hand during a detainment of a rogue. Ten pages seem a lot less than ten hundred thousand pages, or are you as bad at math as you are with listening?"
Eddie then picked up her tea and finished it before looking over to where Joseph stood and waved over to him. "Joseph, you can eat those over here." She called out to him before letting the waitress refilled her cup.

Addison sighed bested at his own game well that's what he got for trying to outwit Eddie. Addison smirked and laughed. "And to say all I want to do is go home and play the piano for my final day off." Addison said shrugging as he retook his seat. They were things if Addison really wanted to be petty he could point out for example that military quarantine zone had two zones a person could just wonder into without being stopped showing that they was a lack of planning to fully shut down the area who've head would that lie on the Majors but not just her several other men on the force so in the end it wasn't worth mentioning.

Addison smirked as he simply yawned. "Hmm I heard maths and listening bout it." Addison said sarcastically he knew why they stook him with Eddie as she was someone who couldn't be beaten easily at the game Addison plays. "Do you mind if we get going like I said I'm missing valuable time with my piano." Addison said as he began twiddling his thumbs.

Eddie didn't rub her victory in, and let the matter rest as Addison sat back down. To hide her smile, she put her cup to her lips and took a long sip. If there was one thing she admired about him, it was how he had confidence and bounced back quickly. Yet, it made him a huge pain in the butt and also made making friends hard for him from what she had seen. He wasn't always like that, though she rarely got to see that, but she did hear about it from a few people. As she continued to watch him twiddle his thumbs while asking her to leave with him.

"You promise to do that report sometime today and turn it in tomorrow. Then you can go by yourself. "
She adds with a sigh while leaning back in her chair. "But I want it in my hands as soon as you get in. Otherwise paperwork will be the least of your problems." The blonde says with a small smile and nod. Her gaze then went down to her tea to her own reflection in it.

Addison scratched his chin before shaking his head. "Well then simply out of respect I will stay here because much like me I know you hate liars and if I left now I know I wouldn't do it." Addison said he decided to join in with the mission successful drinking or the face that no one was hurt. Still he must say it would have been much easier if he just avoided the situation as he wouldn't have any paperwork to do and he could simply be at home playing the piano but alas it seems that wasn't for him, it seems he can't just leave something alone. "Does this place do scotch?" Addison asked Eddie this wasn't a location he would normally ever be seen at but by god he needed a drink that owuld be the only way he could ever go through all the paperwork he is going to have too.

Jayce had been walking the streets of the state he worked for with a cigarette pressed between his lips and his black automail hands at the back of his head. He had decided to get some coffee so he was heading to a cafe not too far from his current location. After a few blocks he had finally arrive at the cafe. He searched around it and to his surprise saw some fellow State Alchemists. He pretended he didnt see them and he continued to walk by. He was hoping that they wouldn't see him walking by.

Eddie was silent for a few minutes before laughing and shaking her head. "You think I would go anywhere that didn't?" She had asked despite it being rhetorical. "Yes, the only thing they don't have is beer. Something about the owner and them not liking it." The blonde answered while a waiter came to their table and she told him to bring Addison his scotch. "I know just about every restaurant, cafe, and building that sell both tea and alcohol. Well, they sell it for me anyway." With that she went back to sipping at her tea calmly.

When Jayce realized that one of the State Alchemists he was passing by was The Major, he stopped and he knew the manners. He sighed, rolled his eyes then turned to the Major. He saluted and said, "Major Winchester." As a greeting.

Eddie at first didn't notice Jayce saluting her until he said her title. Looking over at him she waved her hand nonchalantly at him. "You're not required to do that unless I addressed you or you have information for me. And I prefer to be called Edelyn or Eddie outside of headquarters." She says with a smirk on her lips as she tried to place a name to male alchemist before her. Something with a 'J'. Jake? No. She smacked the bottom of her hand on her open palm when she finally remembered his name. Jayce Fulmen, The Lightning Fist Alchemist. While the blonde woman didn't have as much interaction with Jayce as she did with Addison and Joseph, she still faintly remembered most of the things exposed to her from his file and the information she gathered from having to watch over him on some of his earlier missions. "Is it your day off too, or you here on business?"

Jayce relaxed and he said, "Yep. My day off. You?" He said trying to stay quiet. He really didnt want to have an association with anyone on his day off but it was polite to salute your elders and higher ranks. He took another drag of his cigarette and breathed it out the side of his mouth to avoid the Major.
