This is the Fire Emblem: Twisting Horizons OOC!

Here is where we can shoot the breeze and talk about all things related to the RP!

If you have any questions about the RP from its mechanics to whatever else is on your mind, feel free to throw them all my way! I love questions and there's never enough for me to answer!

It's probably a good idea to put up a standardized template for the CS so we can have them all organized in the same way instead of being all over the place.

Also,it might be a good idea to come up with a few basic details of the setting like country names and all before we commit to character creation. Especially the heroes' home kingdom and maybe the name/background of the ruler that was defeated by the villain. After all,avenging them will be a big motivation for at least some of the characters.

Something that just popped up in the Interest Check is about how I'm handling Shapeshifters. And I have two ideas for that.

Option 1 - Transformation will be handled similarly to Awakening where the shapeshifters have a magical Jewel which they can tap into in order to transform for short periods of time.

Option 2 - They can transform at will without any Jewels or items, but their stamina drains rapidly meaning they have to get the job done quick or find a safe place to revert to recover and regain stamina before their next transformation.

What do you all think would be better?
 
Hmm... I don't mind either option, the second options give it more drama, short bursts of high power is always fun to balance out. Cause then you'd have to rely on allies for the downtime.

When I'm done I'll send you his Base Stats and Growth Rates so you can get an idea how he'll progress throughout the RP!
 
Made a slight change to the CS, as I did not realise Kitsune were both a race and a class. Added a portrait for his beast form, in the Basics tab, which should convey his personal temperament rather well. 😆
 
Phew!

Okay, the "Mechanics" page has been updated with basic items and Weapons.

I still need to add armor. But my brain is fried so I'm taking a break. I'll finish armor up tonight after I get some rest.

Question though, if I may?

Since her exploits as a wandering knight errant are left ambiguous, would you classify her as a "noob" to real combat?

Cause that's the whole point of how the RP starts. So I just want to be sure I know what her familiarity with real combat is before I say anything needs definitive adjustment.
 
That's the thing about making a roleplay where everyone has to level up.

Anyway,I'd say that she's been in duels and skirmishes with people before,and hunted some dangerous creatures. But she hasn't trained against actual military opponents or participated in large battles before.

Does that work?

Yep, that works!

Just so long as we agree she's not a "veteran" of combat who could basically sleep-walk through the early battles.

Everyone needs to struggle at least a little. So as long as she struggles in the early battles while acclimating herself to the militaristic form of combat, I'm good!

Don't catch up with lore yet but I like this option.

I've made a couple more additions to the "Mechanics" page!

I've added a bit about how to know your relative strength compared to the enemies in each Mission so you know how to do your fight scenes, a little bit about the possibility of romance and what it can do for your character(s), and added a tiny segment at the very bottom for "Armor."

Armor is stupid simple though. It's literally just knowing what kind of Armor set you're wearing and adding a buff to your Defense so you're tougher for the Mission ahead.

So yeah!

Please do read up when you can and, as always, if you have any questions please feel free to ask away! I love questions and have no issues whatsoever with answering any and all the questions you have, no matter how many you throw my way!

I had a potential idea for legendary weapons. What if much later down the line there was potential for the weapons we have to become legendary weapons? Like some sort of leveling up mechanic for them if we keep and maintain them, and have them become blessed later on or something after reaching a certain level? If that makes any sense. Just an idea of course
 
*rolls over tumultuously*. Hey there! I am here and working on a lovely fighter class. Something screams out to me the message, "Gain HP. Become wall." I wonder if any of you are going to recognise his name origin. If you do, cookies shall be rewarded.
 
Working on creating an archer. How is range work in this rp?

Hoyo.

For archers, you're basically an archer in the same way you would be in any other kind of RP. You find a good spot to shoot from and hope nobody finds their way up to you. If they do, run and get help from someone else with CQC skills to get them off you so you can either go back to your perch or find a new one.

Similar for mages, though they can fight close as well if absolutely necessary. But they'll want to stick close to their CQC friends for backup just in case.
