Fandom Fate/Chaos: Stained Grail War

Theta finished carving his magic circle into the roof of a large building. He shrouded the area in darkness so to everyone else it would look normal. Now to summon his Servant.

""Let silver and steel be the essence.

Let stone and darkness be the foundation.

Let chaos call upon your spirit

Let shadows bring out your strength

Let the four cardinal gates close.

Let the void of existance be brought up.

Let it be filled. Again. Again. Again. Again.

Let it be filled fivefold for every turn, simply breaking asunder with every filling."

A fierce wind and harsh light was emitted from the center of the circle. He squinted through the light, but could make out a figure in the midst of it.

"I see...I suppose you're right." Aura says, looking out, making sure to hide herself from prying eyes. "That's easier said then done, as least as far as learning the magic comes... but everything else sounds difficult too... I don't know magic for ripping out magic circuits, and I doubt I can silence mages long enough... I can shoot them, though, so I'll have to create a situation in which magic won't help." She said, though that too sounded really hard.

--

"You're right of course." Nimue said, finishing the Takoyaki with a smile. "There is so much I want to teach yous till... you've asorbed so much base knowledge but... I think I want you to carry on my legacy." She says. "I'm going to start teaching you... lik, really teaching you, what Merlin ytaught me...if you find that acceptable, of course..."

"Taught by you?" Isaviel asked with a surprised look on her face. She had never thought she'd be asked to do this. "I-I'd love to be taught by you, Caster! It'll probably be very, very difficult, but I can do it!" the homunculus reassured, her face alight like the Sun with excitement. She started bouncing in place like she had eighty glasses of the same coffee Garfield and Jon drink, her energy increasing ten hundredfold. That was probably an exaggeration, but she was excited.

The figure slowly opened her eyes, the golden orbs silently surveying the area around her. Her eyes fixated on the other figure atop the building, locking it with a firm gaze. "Magi. I assume you are my Master." She gave him an intense, quizzical look only briefly before continuing. The answer was obvious, given they were only two within the vicinity. "Then let the pact be completed." She stepped forward, a dark, vile substance swirling around the area before wrapping around her and shaping itself into obsidian armor. "I am Saber." She place her forearm at her waist and gave a slight bow. "May I ask your name, Master?"

Theta nodded. "That I am. You can call me Theta." He looked her up and down, noting the dark armor she was in. Her essence seemed like a good fit to be partners with him. "Saber was it? Pleased to make your acquaintance." Theta was not entirely sure who she really was, but that could be sorted out later. He had sensed an evil a short time ago. Even further he couldn't feel the priests presence anymore.

She inclined her head and parroted his name, "Theta." testing his name on her lips. It was rather an odd name, being named after a letter of the Greek alphabet, but then again, as far as names went, what sort of a name was 'Hope'? Catching the crease in his brow, she queried, "Is something amiss, Theta?" Opening her senses to this strange new world, she surveyed the area. They were elevated, perhaps he noticed something in the city below. Turning on her heel, she moved to the edge of the roof in the direction his gaze had been and looked down at the buildings below. They seemed bland, if anything. Strange, but bland.

Saber's voice broke his conversation. He turned to her narrowing his eyes and he pondered on what he was sensing. "Ahh yes, but I am not entirely sure what it is. I was taught necromancy in the past, I gave it up, but some of the inate skills remained. There is a very evil spirit in this town. To make matters worse I noticed it around the same time the priests presence disappeared. I fear something very bad is going to happen soon. The last time I felt such a dark presence was when I was dealing with dead apostles, but it couldn't be.........." He had been involved in an accident in the past where half of his clan were turned into dead apostles. His mother was among them. it was because his necromancy had gone awry and is why he gave such magic up. That feeling he had was back now and he could help but feel uneasy.

After finding a quiet place to concentrate, Yuki sat down, legs crossed in a meditating position. He began to breathe heavily, slowly inhaling and exhaling, as he attempted to grasp a sign of some sort. One that could help him win the war. Minutes passed by as he peacefully meditated by his lonesome, save for a few small birds perched upon his shoulders.

Silence.

Suddenly, the male's eyes jerked open as the birds once peacefully standing upon his shoulders flew away. "Urgh!"He grunted and fell over and began to hyperventilate. The only words he was able to muster between his heavy breathing were, "What... what the... hell was... that... Why... this... isn't supposed to..." He fainted before he could finish his sentence but he began breathing normally. What he saw must have been so traumatizing it made him faint like that, not to mention that it took him by surprise. Whatever it was, there was no doubt that it was something horrible.

"Master?!" Assassin materialized behind him. She reached out and caught him before he could even reach the ground. "What the hell did you do!?" She exclaimed before picking him up and slinging him over her back. She made sure her hood was on properly before preparing to jump. "Hang on Master, I'll get help." She told the unconscious magi before jumping into the air. She had to find someone to help her Master for she didn't know what to do.

From high in the air she spotted a castle deep within the forest and nodded to herself as she descended. "That seems like a good place to start." She said before beginning to make her way to the castle in the woods. 'Ahh forests, reminds me of good ol' Sherwood.' She though as she neared the castle only to stop. 'What if they see me as a threat and attack?' She thought before steeling herself. 'No, my Master needs help.' She thought before proceeding to continue approaching the castle.

And by 'it couldn't be . . .' he obviously meant the exact obvious. No one paused that long if they didn't think what they were saying couldn't be wasn't at least somewhat possible. In her experience, it usually was. "So long as you do not force me to leave you unprotected, you have little to fear, Master. It may not be honorable, but if there is more threats in the city than other Masters, I have to make the recommendation of sitting idle and letting them deal with each other. We can simply scout and learn." She turned away from the view below and walked back to his side. "Speaking of, we should take our leave of such an open area if we cannot utilize it more. I do not have the sight of an Archer class." She gestured towards the door leading to the innards of the building before fading from view so as to not disrupt the mortals she imagined were inside.

As Nimue begins to eat, a small shiver of electricity made her sit up straight. “Master, we have guests. It was faint, but someone tripped one of my barriers.” She said, standing up. “I do sense a small amount of magic... “ She said, “I will prepare to intercept.” She says, walking out to the front of the castle, her clothes changing into the dress she had worn when she was firt summoned... light, aqua blue, lighter than that her liege used to wear.”

She she walks out, she gives a curtsy as she senses the being get closer and closer. No hostile motions yet, but she's definatly waiting , spells just at her fingertips to block projectiles. That would be the only way to get to her without closing in, and she had a giant moat, for pete's sake. “Greetins and welcome. I am afraid you're trespassing, and I must ask you to leave.”

"Greetings noble hero of the Grail." Assassin started. She shifted her Master on her back so she would block anything that would be fired. "I am need of help, my Master has brought upon himself some sort of harm and I have no idea what to do." She said before slowly reaching to her hood in order to show that she wasn't going to do anything. She lowered her hood in order to show her face. "Please, my Master needs help." She added.

She slowly lowered her Master to the ground and put herself in front of him. "I swear to you that we don't mean harm, we just need help." She said. "But if you do wish to fight then I shall defend myself." She added, getting ready to dodge anything. Meanwhile she tried to figure out which Servant she was.

Theta exited the roof and walked down the stairs. As he passed the first class suites, several people looked at him, murmuring to themselves. Theta waved his hand and they all paused for a moment. They blinked and shook their heads and went on as if nothing was wrong. He took the side elevator to the back exit of the hotel. He stepped out into the inky darkness of the night. "Alright, we are going to head to a base that I've set up. We'll be taking this." He walked over send a pulse of dark magic at a wall. A wave a shadows ran down the wall, revealing that it was in fact a motorcycle. The true wall was further away from where they were. Theta hopped on and revved the engine. "Let's get going then, we'll start our strategy when we get there. Unless you have any suggestions."

He pulled around the large building and turned onto the street.

"Master, this is a war. Everything you do will be difficult, but you must do so if you wish to survive." Tomoe said. "You don't have the luxury to just give up or provide anything other than your full effort."

"Luckily for you, you needn't worry about servants. While I am next to you, I can guarantee no harm would befall you." She said, gesturing towards the city. After a brief second, an odd expression crossed over her features. "And, master, speaking of - You are scanning the city, correct? I am not sure how your magic works, but I hope we weren't just sitting here and talking needlessly, exposed upon the bridge like this."

"Of course I am." Aura says, looking around. "Essentially my magic enhances my eyes and lets me see almost as far as a sniper rifle's scope. It lets me watch for signs of anything suspicious... though i admit against invisible servants it woun't be much help." She says "Besides, YOU were the one to select this spot. I assumed it was for the two sided sighline." She says. "I trust you, of course, especially to keep me safe..." She says, steadying her breath as she hunts for anything suspicious

--

"An injured master, is it?" Nimue says. "While normally I would allow you santurary, this could easily be a trick, so I'll decline." she says/ She holds one of her hands up,. "Fight back, you say?" She asked. " I don't think you can do that while protecting your master, can you?" She says. Water begins to rise from the grond around them, shapening. "You have exactly two seconds to leave befor eI consider you as a hostile prescence." She said, smiling. She doubted Isaveil wanted to help hm anyway... they were enemies with this people, and she wan't about to fall for any trick.

"Hmph, fine." Assassin said as she tugged her hood back on. She slowly stepped back and picked up her Master before slinging him on her shoulder once more. "I shall remember this and this isn't a trick." She said before backing away with her Master. 'Welp, that was a massive waste of time.' She thought as she started to back away with her Master. She started to quickly run away and start looking for a safe spot and took to the tops of buildings, searching for any place for her Master.

Following as an invisible guardian, Hope moved through the area with Theta. She silently observed the various objects and persons as they passed by, but did little else. The removal of the facade was equally uneventful. To a Heroic Spirit such as she, it was easy to tell there was magecraft at work. This wasn't a slight at Theta though, from the knowledge she'd been granted by the grail, most modern magi were like this. With a slight incline of her head, she said, "As you wish. I'll give my suggestions upon hearing your strategy, Master." She remained by his side as he drove off, easily keeping up as the motorcycle sped off towards their destination. Where exact that was, she had little idea, but she was somewhat relieved to see her Master had taken some steps to prepare for the war. Why he'd chosen to summon her outside of the base was a mystery she didn't feel like solving. At least not at the moment.

"I am a bodyguard first, and a soldier second. You would not suffer any harm even if all six servants were to attack us now." Tomoe said with confidence. "And I did. I chose the bridge, hoping that one of our enemies would show, at least. But... it's almost futile."

She glanced down towards her master. "If only we could just take the grail. They wouldn't likely notice, undoubtedly hidden in their holes and fortresses as they are. Cowards."

As Robyn took to the buildings to search for a safe place for her master, Yukiteru's eyes slowly opened. He noticed that he was being carried over his worried servant's shoulder and was confused at first as to what was happening, but after a few seconds he was able to piece together his memories of what happened before he passed out. "Assassin..." He muttered weakly. "Put me down." He poked her in case she didn't hear him.

Assassin felt her Master move and heard what her Master said. She landed atop of a building and set him down on his feet, allowing him to stand by himself. "I'm sorry Master." She said as she knelt before him. "I didn't know what to do when you fainted so suddenly that I went to look for help." She continued. "I however did manage to find the base of another Master, it's over yonder." She said as she pointed to the castle's general direction.

After being set down on his feet by his servant, the male began to stretch like a man who has just woke up from a long nap. "Aw." Yuki smiled. "Someone cares about me!" He childishly teased. "By the way, you don't have to keep calling me Master. I'd prefer if you called me by my name, Yuki. It gives a sense of familiarity between the two of us, don't you agree?" He gave an unusually relaxed smile despite all that had happened. "Anyway, great job with finding that base. That will certainly come in handy for later! But there's something else we need to talk about, Assassin."

"If that's what you want." Assassin replied indignantly, the hood hiding a very slight blush, a tinge of pink that stained her cheeks. "Very well then Ma-I mean Yuki, what is it that we have to talk about?" She asked, catching herself for her verbal blunder. She looked at him intently, waiting for what he has to say. 'Who knows, it could be very important for this war...' She vaguely thought. "Why did you even faint anyways?" She added before she could continue letting him talk. "That worried me very much you know? Not even one night into the war and my Master might be dying already?"

Theta glanced to his right and took the exit he saw. In order to reach the base they had to travel across the bridge and into the edge of the forest. However, he sensed a presence of some sort currently on the bridge. The beings energy was higher than those of normal humans. They had to be a strong mage to put out such mana. If they were a part of the Grail War they would have to be on their guard. Theta believed he would at the very least be able to escape without Hope's aid. He didn't intend to reveal his servant just yet. "Alright Hope, we may end up in a battle soon. Don't appear unless it's absolutely necessary. I want to gauge the scale of our opponents." Theta turned down the street of the bridge and slowly appraiched the figure.

Yukiteru smiled at his Servant's concern for him. "I was just getting to that." His voice became more uneasy as he retold what he had saw. "It was nothing fatal, really. I just got a bad vision, that's all. I don't remember all of the details that happened, but I witnessed my own death at the hands of someone who isn't supposed to be a part of the war." He turned around and looked over the horizon. "I think it would be best if we lay low for a while and see what happens. I happen to have a few relatives here who're willing to give me a place to stay." He turned his head to look at Assassin. "By the way, you said you found the base of another Master... did you meet him? Did anything happen?" He asked her.

"I did not meet the Master, only the Servant." Assassin said. "I couldn't find anything about her that I can use to discern her identity." She added. "I was forced to flee but I am sure of one thing. I don't like her." She concluded, "I will be able to put that dislike aside should you choose to ally with them." She added quickly. "Now, let's go to those relatives if yours and establish a base!"
