The only thing I know about magic resistance is that knight classes tend to have higher magic resistance. I imagine magic resistance would negate magic to a certain degree depending on the magic resistance the Servant possesses...but how much depends on the Servant *shrug*.

Casters are generally considered a weaker class because most Servants have some degree of Magic Resistance (from what I read in the wiki)

Magic Resistance completely negates magical abilities, but only of spells of equal or lower rank to its own. It's an all or nothing sort of thing. B Rank will block all B Rank magic totally, but won't block A Rank magic at all.

I remember now. Gas's Archer completely blocked my Master's magic in White's Fate/Rising <.<
