I am going to spend a Action Point to try and shoot the Wargoth off of Toph's mecha. Wish me luck.

Total of a 28 to hit before any negative modifiers, doing 40 MDC damage. I hope that is enough to take out the thing on the Ajax.

Oh! As for that Strike roll total of 28, didn't I tell you? The wargoth has arm-shields of his own (O.K., just one really, but it reflects energy) and your EU-11 bounced off of it (I rolled a natural 20 for his kung fu parry) and unfortunately into Elinor's already-damaged Valkyrie (poor thing never saw it coming) which just launched all of her remaining missiles straight into Mario's VHT's backside (thereby setting off the nuclear device in the back seat there) with a really big BOOM - so while all the baddies are dead, so are you! For shame...

So... what did you want to roll up next?

So... Toph's Ajax doesn't take the 140 Mega-damage I just rolled, but instead, half of that - 70 M.D.. =)

No. As in Pathfinder, saving throws do not take actions to perform. Good question! =)
