Fantasy False World (MAIN)

You all finally make it to the end of the light, leaving you in a relatively long, cobblestone tunnel. Behind you appears to be more dirt road for miles. In front of you all is a winding road, which leads to a farm house in the distance. There are fields of cut crops for as far as you all can see, but no real activity other than leaves falling from the trees above the tunnel can be seen or heard.

Roya looked ahead at the rural house trying to find out if it was familiar. "Maybe if we go there we can find someone to guide us about this land. I know the one who guided us through the first stage was the manipulator's doll... but at least we move on and found out about part of this world. This is the way that dread has shown us so we might meet someone who he wants us to visit." She explained her choice to Lamming before approaching the farm house but before getting too close, she stopped and tried to see what was going to happen if she went closer and knocked the door.

"What, you part of his fan club now?" Lemming groveled. He still was NOT a fan of whatever 'dread' was, and upon reflection, he supposed he might have liked whoever else was pulling the strings even more. Though, again, he almost killed Zee. Eh, neither of them fell amongst his favorite people to meet anyhow. Lemming stopped with her, starring complacently at the farm house. "Wonder where Zee's gone..." He glanced around the area, letting out a sigh of both relief, and general distaste for whatever was going to happen next.
(I'm sorry I stalled this for another... too long.)

After a few moments, the sound of footsteps on hardwood floor can be heard. The door opens and on the other side of it, a man stands. It is obvious that the man is Ned. “Morning.” He says, breaking the silence. “Can I help you with something?” He adds, opening the door more so he can lean against the doorway.

It was Ned for sure, but he was dressed differently. He acting just about the same, but didnt seem to recognize any of you.

Roya couldn't blame the young man for his disdain toward everything related to this awkward fantasy they had been caught in, but they had no way but to proceed and see what happenes. The door cracked open and the resident appeared. She was frozen at first as Ned's face greeted them. Many thought crossed her mind like; is it really Ned? Is it a Ned before he met us? Is it another puppet that only looks like Ned? On fact was clear for her; they were not back into their own world. At first she wanted to turn her back and leave without a word but they had come for clues, therefor she decided to ask a few questions first. "Sorry... we're lost... I'm Roya and... may I ask your name?" She said but felt like she might have sounded odd.

"Ok... I definitely shot you." Lemming pulled his gun once more, not as quick to fire, but likely still not ready to trust whatever this 'Ned' was. He turned to Roya. "You- I mean, we shouldn't..." He broke off, shaking his head. He let an annoyed sigh accompany his holstering of his piece. "Yeah. your name. Give it."

(I think I pretty entirely lost where Zee was. Also sorry for using 'sighed' every other sentence. I ought to maybe work on that a touch.)

The man, who was assumably Ned, backed away into his house as Lemming pulled out his gun and pointed it towards the man at the doorway. His eyes lit up for a moment with surprise, but he soon regained a plain look on his face. After Lemming put away his gun, the man began to speak.

“I don’t know who you shot, or for whatever reason... but I’m not a stranger to dark dealings...” the man said. Suddenly, the arm he had extended beyond the inside of the house reemerged with a rifle in hand. He quickly pulled it up, pointing it towards Lemming.

“But if you’re with that bastard, Leon Falic, you can tell your boss I’m out and will never be coming back, no matter how many of his cronies I have to kill!” Ned exclaimed as his grip on the rifle tightened. “Otherwise... you take off whatever weapons you have and toss them over there...” Ned added, nodding his head to the right, giving attention to a small dirt pile. “And after that, come on in and we can talk inside.”

Ned looked around outside, as if scanning for movement in the distance. A noise came from inside, almost too muffled and low to hear. But it was obviously a child. Ned looked away from the group outside for just a moment, shooing the kid inside away.

( 11254man 11254man , oh, Zee was with you guys. XP I thought he was following you all. XD either way, he’s with you guys. And don’t worry, your posts are still good either way.)

Ned moved aside to make room for the three people to walk past, revealing a relatively open area. The kitchen and living room were connected and a staircase could be seen nearbye. There are three doors, not including another screen door that led to the back.

Roya couldn't be happy with what she saw. She assumed that it was just another puppet in another story set. How many games did they need to play before going back to their homes? She had no idea. She took Lamming's hand and pulled him away from the house. "This is not our story. Let's go and find a way to get out of this." She whispered then looked up at Ned. "Sorry... we mistook you for someone else. This not our destination, so we're going find another way. Goodbye." She spoke casually then looked at the other guy waiting for his idea.

Seeing the man turn away, Lemming set his gun behind his back, pulling his shirt over it. He glanced back himself, making sure whatever was back in the building wasn't following them through.
Zee was not focused at all on Ned's reappearance (As he never truly DID see him die. He was, however, seemingly enamored by the landscape as a whole. There was still an air of uncertainty about it, like something was still poised to kill them. While not entirely sure what that something was, the forest -- along with the death-skyscraper -- had given him a decent clue as to its power. Both Zee and Lemming pushed through the front door. Lemming stuffed his hands in his pockets, Zee doing the same in a rather awkward gesture of emulation. "Nice place," Lemming muttered.

Seeing the two men leave the woman alone, the man, presumably called Ned, waited for her to follow. He looked out towards the horizon beside the house and noticed a disturbing site. Black clouds covered the sky. They were blacker than night, as if it was an absence of space more than it was cloud. No sound came from it either.

“Looks like a bad storm is on the way... might as well come inside...”

Ned looked back at the two men and watched them as they walked through his home. “Make yourself comfortable. Probably won’t be able to leave until the storm clears up either way...” He said.

The small figure of a young boy peeked out from the staircase. His face was no doubt the same as Anad’s before what was thought to be his death. But his face was innocent and curious. If he was still the same man as before, he was doing a good job at hiding it. He did not speak and only watched, obviously both nervous and curious by the new people.

“Andy, go up stairs to your room. You can come down when dinner is ready.” Ned said while looking over at the boy. The boy slowly disappeared back up the stairs as his footsteps quickly faded away.

“So what brings all of you up here anyway?” Ned asked as he sat in a chair in the living room. There were several other chairs nearby, signifying the area to be the living room.

"Guys... seriously? After all that happened?" Roya asked in confusion then looked at the second Ned hesitantly. He was inviting her inside which was too kindly to be true; inviting two men and a woman into his home despite of the fact that one of them had threatened him by a gun. Also, she suspected how he had suddenly gotten a pistol ready in his hand to defend himself.

“Looks like a bad storm is on the way... might as well come inside...”
Said the Ned. Roya traced his looking direction and saw the clouds approaching. "No wind, lightening or sound... are they too far away or... are they just darkness like the dark place we passed through a few minutes ago?" She asked but Ned had already said that they were clouds and Laming and Zee couldn't know more than her. Seemingly, she had no way but to stick with the other two lost people so entered the house uttering “Thank you…” as she passed by Ned #2. She joined Lamming and Zee wondering if they could find a chance to sit and talk about what they had to do. Before she could take a seat, she felt being watched and looked behind then up the staircase. There was a little face looking down on them curiously. Her heart sank and she pulled on Lamming’s sleeve speechlessly. There was no way that she could have forgotten that face so soon; face of Anad when he was dying or rather reversing in age. He had tried to torture them before but now that face was gazing at them innocently. She wasn’t able to take her eyes off the child until he left her sight and went back to his room. “Was he… your son? He was a sweet boy…” She asked Ned#2.

Lemming didn't pay much mind to the kid. He continued to suspiciously eye Ned, even through Roya tugging on his shoulder. "Storm, right..." He said, eyes still glued to Ned.
Zee attempted to break the tension which obviously permeated the room. "So," he said, falling into a living room chair, "it's a, uh... it's a nice place you have. Did you come here after the guys took you away?" He stuffed his hands in the pockets, turning his gaze out the window.
Lemming was silent after, deciding to let the situation unfold as it would, and shoot when it got to be too dangerous.

Ned looked over at Zee, trying to ignore Lemming’s glare. “Thanks... and I built this place up myself. Haven’t seen a person since...” Ned hesitated, as though he remembered a painful memory. “Anyway, you all will sleep down here. I’ll get you some blankets and such to sleep on.” Ned continued.

Roya spoke up suddenly, speaking of Ned’s son. Ned looked at her, a slight look of surprise. “Y-yes... that was my boy, Andy...” Ned mumbled, looking over at the staircase again. “Anyway, the name’s Ned. I don’t have much here, just my boy and my farm... I’ve lived here a good three years and haven’t needed anyone since then.” Ned said. “So, now that I’ve explained myself, let’s here about you all...”

A howl came from outside. Distant but loud; it was a wolf howl obviously. Ned looked towards the back door, as though to see that it was locked. “Wolves usually aren’t so bold this time of year... must be the storm.” Ned said, taking a breath.

"If this is a story made up by a prankster, then we might have lost our way in its timelines." Roya whispered to her two companions when Ned was checking the door to make sure it was locked. If he was a real person she would try to avoid hurting his mind our feelings by speaking the truth but that guy was nothing more than a puppet and probably his master was watching the show at the time. "Storm? Maybe... or maybe the wolves are restless because something abnormal is going on. For example... that storm; was it really a normal storm? What I saw wasn't darkness and shadow of puffy clouds but proceeding void." She said and watched Ned's reaction before mentioning Anad. She had decided to talk about similarity between Andy later.

"Me?" Lemming chuckled, leaning back further into his chair. "I don't mean to be rud-" he broke off, correcting himself "too rude, but all you probably need to know about me is that I snore. And as far as sleeping goes, trust me: I'm already on it." Lemming didn't really care about whatever the storm meant. It was a long day- hell, probably more than a day. In fact, it felt like the culmination of months (on and off, at least.) He just needed a bit of shut eye, and now was pretty much the only time he had to do it.

Zee, on the other hand, was much more attentive to the storm. He couldn't quite pin any storm-like sound, though the wolf seemed... far. He didn't say anything except for, "I'm Zee. I do music," in response to Ned's query; though -- to his credit -- it was a great deal more enlightening than anything Lemming had said, even since they'd approached the house.

“Well, Miss, I’m not exactly a meteorologist, but I can safely say that I’ve never seen the sky turn into darkness...” Ned said materoffactly. He stood there for a moment before walking to the kitchen. “Dinner should be ready by now. Hope none of you have a problem with stew...” Ned said as he grabbed some bowls and filled them with stew, which appeared to conprise mainy of meat and various vegitables. “Andy! Dinners ready!” Ned called out. Small, quick footsteps echoed from the stairs and Andy appeared. He stared at the company in the living room for a moment before rushing into the kitchen next to his father.

It looked as though Andy had said something, but what he said was too low to be heard. Zee didn’t hear everything, but he could tell there was a worried expression in Andy’s voice. He didn’t feel safe around the strangers in the house.

“You’ll be nice to these people, they’re staying the night with us and won’t be bothering anyone. So be nice...” Ned mumbled, barely loud enough to be heard.

Ned and Andy set the table and they both sat down, Ned taking the front of the table and Andy taking the right side, closest to Ned. “Come on and join, it isn’t often we have guests so we might as well make light of it.” Ned said, motioning for everyone to sit down. A howl outside made Andy turn his head suddenly. Ned looked at the boy and put a hand on his shoulder until Andy turned back towards his plate again. “They can’t get in you know...” Ned mumbled to Andy.

"He refuses to let his ordinary world give birth to nightmares. Is he another Ned made of smoke?" Roya asked her companions. She waited for them to make a move then went to the kitchen to join the table. "Thanks for the meal... it looks good..." She said as received a bowl of stew but didn't have enough appetite to eat. She felt like her throat was stuck and wouldn't be well again unless she is back to her normal world. Outside of the house howlings grew louder and frightened the little boy who could turn to a sadistic murderer someday. "It's just a nightmare..." She thought loudly enough for everyone to hear then felt embarrassed as noticed it. "I'm sorry... I just don't feel well right now..." She said as put her spoon down on the table.

Zee’s breathing became heavy. He felt claustrophobic in the tight confines of the house, and the duo inside — the ones speaking of horrors just through the thin walls — gave him no excess comfort. Roya was right, this a nightmare without parallel. The comment of another Ned continued to gnaw at him, though he didn’t dare bring it up in front of the man himself.

Lemming was himself unwitting or at least less interested regarding whatever the storm might bring. He was far more focused on the foreboding whispers of the child and his father. Upon Roya’s comment, he chuckled. “None of us are feelin’ great.”

Despite the caution both began to exercise, they took seats next to one another at the table.

“If you’d like-“ Ned stopped suddenly as he was interrupted by the sound of howling once again, obviously much louder this time. After a short pause, Ned finished his sentence. “If you’d like to head on to bed, I’ll go fetch you all some blankets and pillows if you’d like...” Ned said, sitting up from the table before walking up the stairs.

Andy sat at the table, sliding down so his head was barely visible to the rest of the people at the table. A sudden noise came at the back door. Like a scratching at the wooden door. The scratching soon turned into banging, which sent Andy curling under the table. Soon, the door began to splinter until it finally broke from it’s hinges.

In the doorway stood a large creature. Covered in black fur with glowing eyes and razor claws, the creature resembled a werewolf covered in constant shadow. The creature howled a deafening howl, which was followed by several more howls outside.

The creature walked into the house, growling as he began walking towards the people at the table.

Roya felt that Ned was nervous. He probably was afraid of sound of howling growing stronger since if he was nervous about them, he wouldn't have let them in in first place. "Thanks... you're so kind..." She agreed with going to bed although knew that non of them was able to sleep. She just needed to reorganize her mind but the scratching on the door sent fright to her heart. She was almost frozen in place when the beast banged the door and broke in. The girl had literally panicked. As soon as meeting the black monster, she screamed like a banshee. But part of her brain was still working properly and had her pick a hair and point it at the werewolf for protection even though it seemed to be useless.

Lemming rubbed his palm over his left ear, cocking his head down then to the side in obvious annoyance. "What in the-" he broke off upon seeing the large creature before them. On any other day he'd have probably frozen up or screamed, but today was a day of exceptions.
Zee, on the other hand, didn't dare move. He had absolutely no clue what this beast was, and the fact that it hadn't been detectable, and that there were likely more of whatever they were on the horizon... Well, it was certainly enough to freeze him in place.
Lemming almost chuckled as he wheeled around to face the beast. Zee was a good kid, by Lemming's admission, but he knew Zee would freeze up at a time like this. With both his companions not being too keen on moving, Lemming reached for the back of his pants, the click of the gun's hammer not easily audible over the aftermath of the wolf-person's howl.
