Definitely did not stay in Vegas. Just about 300 years ago, a man was shot in the head outside of a small town near Vegas called Goodsprings. This man was shot because of a valuable item he was transporting. He was a courier, one of six to be exact. He was carrying what looked like an over-sized poker chip completely composed of platinum. Now, it must have been some miracle, but the doctor there in Goodsprings, named Doc Mitchell, revived this courier. Surprisingly, the courier hadn't lost most of what was important within his head, in fact, some even said the shot too the head even did him good. So the courier took his trip to retrieve this platinum chip and kill the people that took it from him. He made a lasing impression on the people of many towns in the Mojave, allying himself with the New California Republic pretty close from the start. Learning, fighting and prevailing was his nature. Eventually, he made it to New Vegas. He was already famous by the time he had made it there, and was even more highly esteemed when he was given permission to enter the Lucky 48 Casino, which had been uninhabited by any truly alive being for years. There, he had met Mr. House.
Mr. House told him of his attacker, Benny, and his whereabouts. In anger, the courier busted into the Tops Casino and singlehandedly destroyed all of the workers and thugs in his way, then killed Benny and took the platinum chip. There he also met Yes Man, in which he ignored: he had made up his mind, and he was loyal too the N.C.R. He then, armed with platinum chip in hand, recruited the Mojave's remaining Great Khans, the Mojave sector of the Brotherhood of Steel and the Boomers into the N.C.R.'s roster for what was to become the second battle of the Hoover Dam. But then, he was given his hardest task yet: he had to kill Mr. House, the founder of New Vegas. He had infiltrated the Lucky 38 and walked into Mr. House's chamber, then apologized before removing him from his chamber. "It had to be done." he told the mangled, yelling body of Mr. house.
The courier then went on to protect the President, along with his partner Boone, and was commended for his fast thinking and ability to act under pressure. The courier then traveled about the Mojave for just about three months, solving people's problems, destroying every single Powder Ganger and even curing Schizophrenia for the nightkin, eventually leading him to fame with all super mutants. Finally, the day came for the second battle of the Hoover dam. Armed too the teeth and accompanied by the Brotherhood of Steel, the Great Khans, the N.C.R. and his companions, Boone and ED-E, the courier gained swift victory for the N.C.R. and even convinced Ceasar's Legion to keep to their regions to the east.
The courier, now idolized in the Mojave traveled for about 30 more years helping everyone he could and seeking justice for all. He disappeared and could not be found, even by his closest companions, who had no clues as to his whereabouts.. His partner, Boone died 10 years later back in the town of Novac, in the Mojave. ED-E, the courier's robot companion, settled in the eventual N.C.R. territory of Hawaii.
After the N.C.R. had gained Vegas, they had began mass producing weapons and gaining more soldiers. They then conquered some lands too the north, held by the Cascadian Empire and the Great Khans, Arizona from Ceasar's Legion and some other more eastern territories, as well as Hawaii in the Pacific, then brought all of their troops home, in order to rebuild. After 200 years of rebuilding and finding an ally in the New Alaskan Republic, the N.C.R. has become a thriving democratic republic.
As the rest of North America healed and rebuilt, old cities were once again thriving and new trade routes and territories were explored, conquered and taken. Eventually, the Brotherhood of Steel became nothing more than a small but powerful cult with many small bases, and the enclave was mainly destroyed, save a few facilities. Then again, as the continent may have been healing, problems still always arise, and there is always disposition, grudges, and just plain and simple problems, such as the whole continent still mostly being a lawless wasteland. Welcome to the Big Empty.
