Fantasy Everything Is Not As It Seems...

Aurora smiled as Sapphira played. "Haven't you heard that I'm the new cancer? I've never looked better, and you can't stand it," she sang proudly afterwards.

"Haven't you heard that I'm the new cancer? I've never looked better and you can't stand it. And I know, and I know, it just doesn't feel like a night out with no one sizing you up. I've never been so surreptitious so of course you'll be distracted when I spike the punch." It was hard for Sapphira to wrap her tongue around such a large word while playing her violin simultaneously, but she had had lots of practice with that one in particular.

Aurora smiled and repeated her, "And I know, and I know, it just doesn't feel like a night out with no one sizing you up, I've never been so surreptitious, so of course you'll be distracted when I spike the punch."

"And I know, and I know, it just doesn't feel like a night out with no one sizing you up. I've never been so surreptitious, so of course you'll be distracted when I spike the punch!" The lines were quiet and low, suddenly escalating on the last two words. Sapphira's violin faded as the song ended. Now that the fun was over, her cheeks burned.

Aurora smiled and stopped playing as she looked at Sapphira. "You're amazing," she said with a wide smile.

"No, you're amazing. I'm not all the great..." Sapphira reached behind her, rubbing her neck with one hand. "I'm pretty much useless with guitar. My piano's ok, I guess."

I smiled sweetly at her, "You're too modest. It sounded amazing." Aurora tried to cheer up her friend. Sapphira was good, and she planned on making her realize that.

"I'm gonna go find Lake so I can get this over with. Care to join? I could use the support," Aurora said as she stood up, putting her guitar down.

Sapphira nodded. "But remember, I'm not taking sides. I'm going to keep the peace. Got it?" she asked hopefully. She was not getting in between these two, or their significant others.

"No problem," she said smiling as she walked out. Aurora walked down the hallway looking around. She went down the stairs and looked around before heading outside. She spotted Lake playing with the guys. "Hey, Lake. Can I talk to you for a few minutes? Please," she asked a bit nervously.

The ball soared over to Lloyd, a great pass in truthm but it was no use, time was up and th kid with the broken arm who was the ref for the game blew his whistle just before it got to his foot. Our team cheered, the match ended 2-1 to my team. "Better luck next time" I called to Lake and Lloyd with a grin. I walked over to Aurora and said quietly "Good luck" before walking towards my dorm room. Not that I didn't want to be there to support her, but if things turned a little ugly then I would become to bias towards Aurora, and I didn't want Lake to feel like she was being ganged up on.

Lake heard Aurora call her and she looked up. She fought with herself wether to talk with the other or not. Eventually she just picked up her cap and walk into the opposite direction. She could not do it, she couldn't except Aurora as "easily" as Oliver. She didn't WANT to!

Aurora had said too much shit in the car that she was not willing to forgive, so she would sure as hell not talk to some princess because the royal highness wanted too.

"Of course the bitch had to ruin my mood." She snarled to herself as she crossed the field.

I sighed shaking my head a bit before running to catch up with her. "Lake, just wait. Please. I just wanna talk. I'd rather not die just because of some petty arguments with you," I admitted as I caught up to her. "Look, I'm sorry about what I said earlier in the car."

"What do you want, huh?" Lake snapped. "You just keep snapping at me for no fucking reason and you believe that I'm gonna talk to you? You think that I'm gonna believe a fucking word that's going to leave you mouth?!" She wanted to punch Aurora in the face, but gritted her teeth in stead. "You wanted me to ignore you! I did as you asked, okay?! But NO! Miss princess, still wants to get in my face! And where are you now? STILL IN MY FACE!" She pushed the other girl away. "What right do you have to talk to me, to think that I would listen to you?! That I would EVER give you another chance?!"

"Because you know well all die if you don't, and we'd be responsible for the destruction of our planet. Besides if I didn't mean what I'm saying, do you really think I would give you the time of day?" I said calmly. Sure I was getting irritated with her immaturity, but I hid it for the sake of living.

Lake gritted her teeth and snarled. "If you think you deserve another chance then you have to fucking prove it. I have more trust in plankton then you!" She growled. "I don't care if you were sorry, I have my borders and you went far over them." Lake as still angry, but she still got herself to talk like a normal person.. More or less. "I don't know what Tobias is up to, but he should find someone else because there is no way that this-" she pointed between the two of them. "Is going to work. He'll need to think of a whole new kind of training because we are not friends. We're a freaking time bomb! All of us!"

"Then talk to me like a mature female and establish those boundaries with me because I have mine too. You've crossed mine too," I said as civil as I could. "Like I said before, I wouldn't give you the time of day if I wasn't being completely serious," I added sincerely. "I'm not saying we have to be friends, but I do want us to be able to be within 20 feet of each other without going at it and nearly killing each other."

"Mature, you say?" Lake asked. "I believe I was being mature enough by staying out of your way. You were the one snapping at me for no reason! You want to be serious, fine, but you'll have to fucking prove it."

"I will if you would give me a chance. I've tried to be nice to you multiple times, but you've never given me a chance," I said looking into Lake's eyes. "But if you're willing to give me a chance and try to work this out with me, I'll be in my dorm. It's number 14," I said before turning and walking back the way I came. I went into the school and straight to my dorm.

Lake didn't know what to do. Why did she have to go to Aurora's room? She didn't want to! After walking for a while, she headed back to the school and dorms. Hers was exactly on the opposite side of Aurora's dorm. Doubting what to do in the hall, she eventually raised her fist to knock on Aurora's door, but stopped. Everything she knew was shouting at her not to do it. Lake broke down crying and slammed her dorm's door shut. She dropped herself on her bed and cried into the pillow.

Why couldn't she just do it?

Why was it so hard?!

Cursing herself, Lake just cried louder. She was strong enough to ruin everything for herself, that was all she was good at. She could give Aurora another chance if she wanted, but give another chance to herself seemed impossible...

As I was walking to my dorm, I noticed Lake slam her dorm room door. "I take it their little encounter didn't go particularly well then" I muttered to myself as I walked up to Aurora's door to check if she was okay. I knocked lightly and said "Hey, its me, can I come in?"

I jumped a bit, hearing Lake slam her door. I frowned and sighed slackly when I heard a knock on the door. I got up and opened the door and gave a small smile seeing Oliver on the other side.

"Hey" I said not stepping inside just yet "I saw...well she didn't look very happy. I take it your discussion didn't really go so well" I gave her a sympathetic smile.

"I just told her I'd rather not die because of petty arguments nor do I want to be responsible for the destruction of the planet. I said if she was willing to give me a chance to fix it, she could come here, but I'm not letting it go that easily," I said looking at her door.
