No requirements, I do prefer some for of realism however. Doesn't really matter too much though.

Well, back to business, I'd like to reserve a slot as the team's sniper. I'd request a sitrep of what everyone else is confirmed as playing before I make it absolute, though.

Additionally, I'm not sure what kind of person he should be. I'd like everyone else's input on this matter. I'm currently thinking a simple minded savant who's obsessed with hunting and his equipment. Strange, but good at what he does. Obviously the sniper, with a possible stealthy, or hunter-killer style specialization. Knows a lot about ancient history, especially ancient militaries so he can make references to our modern day without it sounding too dumb. I think it'd enhance the futuristic aspect. But, I'd like input from the people I'm going to be playing with and what they'd like the sniper character to be like. I'm still not sure about anything.

Snipers do not participate in regular teams; they are deployed in two-man spotter teams.

The closest normal squads get to snipers are designated marksmen, of which there is already one person reserved. If enough people show avid interest for this roleplay to include an entire squad, as opposed to a fireteam, then more spots will be available for different designations.

As stated, this roleplay will follow a realistic setting, so a 5-man sniper team won't be something we'll be doing.

Hey, guys, are you still around? You might want to check out the lore now since Mal's been busy updating it this entire time. It's long and detailed, so you gotta start preparing at least now. We'd also like to know what are your thoughts about this story as we're all in this together. We just want to know what you expect out of this story and what impact you'd have on it.

For me, I'd like to create an American character with old 21st century conservative values. He'd have German ancestry and so feel a sort of kinship with the people of his race, and it might lead to a personal interest on the Teutonic Templars. This guy is a safe zone for me, since I've been reading a lot of conservative writers and so I know how they tick. He'll be a good starter character, since he gives me a lot of breathing space. With him around, I'll be able to get used to the military here and explore this world's history. I said before that I wanted to explore the Middle East, Eastern Europe, and Asia, since I wanted to know more about their grievances, and use that knowledge to bring all our peoples closer together. But I'm not confident I can handle such an endeavor yet, as I just don't know what's going on their heads yet. I need more time.

Just so everyone is aware, I may be implementing time limits for the IC, considering people have a tendency to leave during the IC-stage. Whilst I've tried my best to keep the requirements low, I am also aware that people not posting for any significant period of time is a real problem when the IC is concerned. I am considering having a post gap of 2-3 days, considering my loose requirements. If you fail to write in that time, then I'll take over, and if you're in any form of absence then I'll take over control of your character also. If no word is heard for any significant period of time, I am considering offing the character at most convenient time.

If anyone is uninterested, then I suggest telling me so now. I don't really like being in the dark zone, so to speak. I am also somewhat impatient at times, just like I am incredibly patient in other aspects. I generally like having as much information available to me as possible, so bear with me if I inquire as to everyone's interests every now and then.

I understand, I've also had notification problems, seems like it is a site-wide issue. I suggest marking this page in your bookmarks or going to it regularly. I try and keep my presence here daily, at the least, though I always appreciate conversations with those interested.

I am considering making a Discord server. Historical Storyteller would it be okay if we used yours, or should I make a private one? If we make one on your discord, I recommend locking the conversation areas via roles.

My reasoning: The site seems to be rather choosy with whom it gives notifications, and notifications from different pages and their relevance is completely out of the questions, since it seems like the "Watch" function is all but nonfunctional.

Argument: It is easier to gauge activity and interest via discord due to its ease of access.

Windsock I've decided that instead of having a Fireteam as a default, I'm gonna risk the default being a Squad. Therefore I decided to reserve you the Designated Marksman role. Therefore all slots of DMs are now filled. All roles within the unit will be filled also, be it by me, or through participation.

I updated the Character Section to include all available roles, minus the Specialist (as it is a sort of unlimited role so long as it makes sense and I give it the go-ahead).
