Fantasy Dragons Reborn

Forrest the Lovable Bear PersonClutching the wooden grip of the copper spear, Forrest suddenly pointed it into the sky heroically. "Let's kill them before they can reach the town! No questions asked!" he shouted before jumping an amazing height into the air, the spear pointed downward at the leader of the cultists. It wasn't the town or the people in it he was worried about, but it was the life force of the forest itself. The man could sense even from here that the large group of necromancers has killed off a lot of the trees and animals in order to summon their dragon, and that was something that couldn't be left unpunished. While Forrest was no stranger to killing humans or animals alike, the reason he did it was for survival, and survival was a part of nature itself.

But when you were doing it to cheat nature completely to bring a dragon's soul straight back from hell solely because you wanted to kill something because you believed you were destined to be on top, that was where you crossed the line.

Forrest landed on the lead necromancer spear-first, stapling the poor guy to the ground with a satisfying sound before pulling the weapon out and slashing the chests of a few other cultists. Soon enough, small pine trees would begin bursting from the ground, stabbing some of the group and sending a few others to the ground. Of course, with his magical prowess not being so great, not many were killed by the trees, but the spear and shield combo was more than enough on its own.

Willow the Hydra

She was a bit surprised that Forrest just went for it like that, not sure if she should copy his actions. Deciding it might be best to hang around for just in case purposes, she moved to a secluded location of the forest, trying to get out of their way. She was so intent on watching Forrest to make sure that he was okay that she hadn't even considered that there might have been other cultists apart from the small group that Forrest was dealing with. Before she know it, she was being encased within a sturdy chainmail sac, one she could not scratch or bite her was out of. She tried her elemental breaths, but the necromancers were ready for a magical attack, and seemed to be able to pull together to prevent her magic from reaching them. After all, there was strength in numbers. She wasn't the lightest dragon, but she was rather small in this state, so a few were able to lift her and the encasement up for transport. She tried desperately to grow in size to rid herself of these fools, but since she had just woken up, she was far too tired and could not muster the strength. She let out a warning growl to warn them that they were making the wrong decision, but they just smiled and laughed it off. Instead of letting her go, they decided to take her away to god knows where. She tried to think of her options, but fear was starting to set in and she was having a hard time concentrating on what was important.

Magnus Cain

Magnus was not really surprised Forest jump at the chance to fight them now. He was amazingly fast and strong and his nature magic amazing that gave him an idea. Magnus reached into his pocket and pulled out one of his leather gloves and wrote the symbol for speed on his hand. With that he was able to be almost as fast as Forest, he pulled out his sword and quickly cut down two that got past Forest. After those two where down for the count it just dawned on him that there numbers were becoming increasingly greater. Magnus was pushing his own skills to the limit by switching between cutting someone in half and writing the symbol for paralyze as fast as his hand would go. There were so many that he lost sight of Forest, that was when he could hear a screech coming from where Willow was. He turned to look and she was getting stuffed into as sack made of chain mail. Magnus was faced with a big decision, stay and fight with Forest or run after the guys who took Willow. He didn't want to think to hard about it, so he ran after Willow. At best Forest can finish off the rest off the cultist and would just follow when he finish. "Hey Forest they are taking Willow I'm go after them. Follow me when you are done with them."

@Salt Lord @Kazehana

Forrest the Lovable Bear PersonForrest, angrily fighting off the cultists, looked behind him as Magnus mentioned something about taking Willow... yep, they were taking Willow, and as soon as he saw the hydra wrapped up in a sack of heavy chains, his face had twisted into one of pure rage. He was already sprinting through the crowds of necromancers, leaving poor Magnus to fend for himself and ignoring the dragon that had been making its way toward the city. The spear clashed with the link with sparks and a loud ring, and Forrest gave it another hit for good measures.

Forest took off so fast that he ran off in front of Magnus. The cultist seemed to forget about them and continued on there way to the city. So he had no one to stop him from following Forest in his charge to save Willow.

Kylios - Alchemist Store

"Uh... Kylios stuttered, "In that case, I would have to come in, then. All my spare clothes are within the bedroom, in my wardrobe." He had never been with a woman in a close state of nakedness, and it felt extremely awkward starting with Lilith. Especially since she was his sister! "I won't look or anything," he added quickly, steeling himself to push open the door to his own bedroom. "I'm coming in now," he said finally, eyes averted to the floor as he quickly pushed the door open. Eyes still on the floor, he hurried to his wardrobe, pulling out a spare shirt, some pants, and it was with some hesitation that he pulled out a pair of underwear as well. Just in case.

"Here you go," he said quickly, placing the clothing on the bed, eyes still averted onto the floor. "I'll head back out now, to let you change. Let me known when you're ready," he said, and immediately made his way out of the room, closing the door behind him with a sigh, leaning his entire weight against the door as he sighed with relief, so glad that his eyes had not captured anything he was not supposed to look at. Especially after that story she related to him... he did not want to disrespect her in any way. His mood dropped somewhat and his eyes darkened, and once again he hated how useless he was in a fight. He did not even have any weapons. All he could do was cause explosions which could hopefully take out enemies or distract and trap them.

Perhaps it was not too late to learn some sword-fighting skills.

Lilith Tennant - Alchemist Shop

Lilly continued to sit at the edge of the bed, one leg crossed over another. She could feel his uncomfortableness even before she could see him, it dripped from every word that slipped his lips. As he opened the door and stepped in, eyes glued to the floor like there was candy, she started to giggle almost hysterically. One he had discovered some clothes for her and placed them on the bed, she watched him scuttle away, but not before she said a word or two.

"Why are you so embarrassed? You know we used to bathe together as kids remember? I know it's been a long time but there isn't anything on you I haven't already seen." Of course even as she was saying it, he was out the door. Once she heard it click into place she rolled her eyes and reached over to his clothing. She lifted up his shirt with an odd expression. Really it was small and she could already see the problems with putting it on. It was only for one night though, right? She stood up and let the towel drop before hoisting it up and over her head. That was the easy bit, but unfortunately Lilly had a very large chest compared to him and thus the shirt strained with the effort to stretch over her front. Plus her height causing it to ride up similar to a tank top, exposing her belly and rounded hips. She glanced at his underwear, throwing that away and deciding to just Commando it before grasping his pants and hopping around the room trying to get it up and over her wide thighs and hips. Well wider then his. His pants only just came past her knees from her height and rested like hipster jeans. Finally she stood up tall. "You can come in now..." She said, though even as she spoke she was pulling, stretching and moving the shirt and pants around to fit her more comfortably. In all honesty the towel probably left more to the imagination.

Willow the Hydra

Willow tried her best to see what was going on, but it was hard since all the holes were so tiny. Plus the heavy chains were taking a toll on her already depleted energy. It weighed her down and kept her from retaliating as she would have liked. She heard something loud, but couldn't quite differentiate what it was. It wasn't like she could have done anything about it anyway. Many of the surrounding cultists were collectively either draining Forrest's energy or warding the two off with a barrier. It was easy for them to achieve both of these results, as they were chanting as a group rather than as individuals. With a jolt, she realized that she was already being taken away from the chanting and presumably into the woods. She wasn't sure what they wanted with her, but they were people, so it probably had something to do with wanting the power of the dragons in general. But it wasn't like she was that powerful of a dragon, so these efforts seemed a little wasted. Nevertheless, the fact remained that it was happening, and she wasn't sure there was anything she could do about it.

@Salt Lord @Quinlan63

Forrest the Lovable Bear PersonForrest had found that he was pushed quite a few feet away from the chains Willow was being whisked away in, and even worse, he couldn't do much about it. His life energy was being drained rapidly, making it rather difficult for him to lift his spear and hit the invisible wall in front of him. Not even his great amounts of (uncontrollable) magical energy or his high adrenaline could help him push forward, and he was completely sure Magnus could do no more than he with how things were going. Dropping to his hands and knees weakly, the man attempted a few more feeble punches at the barrier. The use of energy was in vain, however, as the magical wall wouldn't show even a single sign of wear or tear. But he wouldn't give up, not as long as Willow was in that mess of giant chains...

Forrest collapsed completely, the blades of grass under him snapping completely with his weight. The spear at his side and the shield on his other arm emitted a bright light before breaking into particles, the man not even having enough power to keep them in this reality...

@Quinlan63

Magnus Cain

Magnus had finally caught up to Forest only to find him laying on ground with a barrier in front of him. It only took him a second to realize Forest was running dangerously low on energy. He quickly started drawing a chain of healing and life replenishing symbols in a circle around Forest. It was exactly what the doctor ordered for the situation, but it was not going to work fast enough for them both to go and leave to save Willow together. Once Magnus was certain that Forest would be ok he got to work on making a perm-init hole in the barrier so when Forest was ok enough he can come after them. To make this hole Magnus had to used an advanced method of symbol magic, doing so will allow him to inscribe the spell on the barrier that way it would directly effect it and make it harder for anyone to come behind him and de-spell it. Once the hole opened up he quickly looked around to see forest would be ok (everything was ok as far as he could tell). "Good, don't worry Willow I'm coming to save you." As he ran after her all he could think was if this doesn't prove he could be trusted nothing will. Also he really hopes Forest gets better soon.

@Salt Lord @Kazehana

Forrest the Lovable Bear PersonForrest could feel himself get stronger quickly... too quickly, and the sudden surge of life energy and magical power was enough to send shivers down his body. After a few seconds of shuddering, he jumped to his feet, a grin spreading across his face as he realized he now had the power to save Willow. The man dashed through the hole in the necromancers' barrier quickly, lunging through a curved line of the cultists and breaking a few bones even without the use of his shield or spear. That would weaken their magical influence on both the field and the chain Willow was trapped in, and as soon as he could, Forrest gripped some of the links with nothing but his bare hands and... vines? He didn't quite know where those came from, seeing as how he wasn't focusing on using his magic, but he could use all the help he could get to crush the chains keeping him from his friend.

And that's when it occurred to him: wasn't Magnus supposed to destroy the chains while Forrest himself fought the other necromancers off...? With a gulp, the bear man realized that his impulsive nature had gotten in the way of a perfect plan, resulting in quite a lot of loss of hope for the future. Had he just doomed his friends...?

@Kazehana

@Quinlan63

Willow the Hydra

By this point there weren't many of the cult left, but there was enough to muster up a final plan to salvage their plot. The three carrying Willow kept chanting to keep her barrier up, as that was all they were able to do. But the remaining four were able to take some action. Each summoned a demon to fight on their behalf, mainly because they could do nothing physical on their own. The demons immediately took action and lunged at Forrest in an attempt to rid themselves of him. But by this point, the chains guarding Willow were beginning to break, so Forrest had a very big decision to make here. To keep going and risk his own life or to defend himself and risk them being able to get away. Willow was just scared the entire time, as she had no idea what was going on. The noises alone were enough to scar her, but now some of the battle had apparently made its way to her. She wouldn't mind if she could, you know, actually do something. But alas, here she was, unable to do anything of importance.

@Salt Lord @Quinlan63

Magnus Cain

Lucky for everyone Magnus with his head start took it upon himself to set a trap for the cultist who had Willow. Forest had actually come close to stopping the plan from working but got distracted with fighting some demons that were summoned by the other four that had been protecting the ones who had Willow. From what Magnus could see Forest helped a little in his haste by breaking the chains a little, so Magnus had to do was wait. An he did not have to wait long because the cultist had step on trap paralyzing them in place. Magnus rushed out of the bushes, killed the cultist holding Willow hostage. Once they were dead the chains binding Willow dispersed in a puff of smoke leaving nothing but a small little dragon Willow. "Thank goodness your safe." Magnus scream to Forest, "Forest Willow is safe."

@Salt Lord @Kazehana

Forrest the Lovable Bear PersonForrest completely ignored the large demons scratching harshly at his back, putting all his energy in crushing the chains...? The sack of large, enchanted links poofed into smoke in his hands leaving him puzzled even when he had no need to focus his full attention on them anymore. With a shrug, the bear man spun around and swatted the demons to the ground and body slammed one of them, rolling on the others with all his weight, and when they had vanished of death, Forrest picked himself up off the grass.

"That was awesome, Magnus! I thought we were gonna get ourselves killed to...
them!" he shouted back happily, but not before sprinting to Willow, hugging the poor dragon without restraint. She'd lose a lot of air, but being a hyrda, she wouldn't get crushed like the demons had... hopefully.

@Kazehana

@Quinlan63

Willow the Hydra

No sooner had the chains disappeared had she transformed back into hybrid form. It was nice to be able to have space and be a little less claustrophobic for once. Just as soon as she recovered a little, she found herself immediately being crushed by Forrest's concern. She was very surprised by his suddenness and his overwhelming concern for her in the first place that she hadn't the means to react to him. "Forrest.." she said in a small voice, unable to say anything more. He was very strong, so much so that she had a hard time breathing at all with him using his unrestrained strength. But it wasn't like she wasn't going to enjoy his warmth and cushiness after the cold, hard embrace of chains. She would much rather die in his arms than enshrouded in metal any day.

@Salt Lord @Quinlan63

Forrest the Lovable Bear Person"Yeah?" Forrest pulled his head away and looked Willow in the eyes before realizing his arms were clamped around the girl. Putting all of his focus into relaxing his muscles and letting go of the poor hybrid, the man looked at his own hands. "Sorry about that... hugging's just natural for me. I, uhh..." Forrest paused, looking behind Willow at a looming oak. "I hug trees a lot to build strength... and I've ended up snapping a few... heh... I'll try to kill things less..."

Well, that was rather embarrassing for him to admit. Not the hugging part or even the tree part, but the fact that he squeezed so hard in the first place. Willow clearly wasn't a tree, so why did he clamp onto her every chance he got...? Would she be even better than a tree for gaining strength? No, her body might snap even easier than a tree... Maybe he should move onto redwoods and stop destroying the poor oaks. If he had continued the path he was on, there'd be no more oaks in the forest.

Not even realizing that his mind was drifting, Forrest had remembered that he still hadn't gotten his bubbles yet. "Hey guys, before we go on adventuring, can we go trade something for that guy's bubbles?"

@Kazehana

@Quinlan63

Willow the Hydra

Well that was unexpected. Who built their strength by hugging trees?? It was bizarre, but it was adorable as sin! She smiled and shook her head, immediately reciprocating the gesture by squeezing her arms around him, though obviously with much less force than he could put out. For a moment, she closed her eyes, considering his proposal. "I have nothing against it, but he made it pretty clear that we shouldn't go back there," she replied before letting go. She looked around the forest, trying to see if there was any way for them to make bubbles of their own. But it wasn't like they had anything like soap around to make it with, so perhaps they really did need to go back into town. And just when she was enjoying their time in the forest! Well, save for the whole kidnapping episode. "Let's go buy some soap from a general store instead. And maybe a small hoop or something. Then we can make our own without bothering the poor man," she offered, pleased with her suggestion. Then they wouldn't have to deal with that witch from earlier, and they might get to leisurely play with bubbles in the forest. Relaxation would be nice after such an eventful day!

@Salt Lord @Quinlan63

Magnus Cain

After Willow had suggested for them to go buy some soap Magnus was thinking about where the rest of the cultist had gone with that bone dragon. But if they went go to the city they might encounter them while trying to get the soap for Forest. Of course if they were lucky they would just get there and everything would be just ok and nothing to worry about. "Alright you two lets go get us some bubbles." It took them no time at all to make it back to the city. It did not take Magnus long to realize he did not have anymore money. "Hey Willow do you have any money on you because I spent everything that I had on me earlier? If not we can just go get some from my house here in the city."

@Salt Lord @Kazehana

Willow the Hydra

"I do, but it's not much and I would prefer to have some on me at all times for emergencies, if that's okay with you," she said, glancing at him as they walked. She did appreciate his hand in helping save her from the cult from earlier, but for some reason she was still highly reluctant to trust him. Must be an elf thing. Regardless, she did feel in his debt, so she figured she would need to repay that sometime. She just wasn't sure how or when, or even if he needed anything of her at all. Perhaps when the time was right, she would just know. Looking back to Forrest, she smiled for what felt like no reason and looked at his rather large hand before taking it to grasp in her own. She wasn't sure if it was the right thing to do, but it felt pretty right to her. There as nothing wrong with it, right? Regardless, she smiled even more as she looked back forward, almost ready for anything that came their way.

Forrest the Lovable Bear PersonAs he let the two talk about a concept he didn't understand, Forrest thought he could see moving flecks of white and purple into the sky... the flecks would get larger and larger until he thought he could make out a dragon...? Uh-oh. "Uh, guys," he pointed at the ominous, bony dragon which had been diving headfirst into the heart of the city, "I think we forgot something!"

The thought of the dragon killing so many people and the fact that it would be his fault sent a wave of fear and regret through his body, and as tears began to form at the ends of his eyes, Forrest clamped onto Willow's arm in need of something, anything to find comfort in hugging.

...

Meanwhile, the dragon had its own plans. He was gifted with life once more and was given a task, and being so grateful for his masters to bring him back into the mortal world, Merasmus was completely intent on destroying this city of idiots... Opening his skeletal mouth, a blindingly dark ball of an unsettling mix of black, red, and violet formed, ready to obliterate anything in its path.

Willow looked up as he pointed, then almost jumped as he grabbed her so suddenly. She wasn't particularly afraid because as far as she knew, dragons hated bipedal races, not other dragons. So she would most likely be fine if she styed in her dragon form. But her priorities currently laid with Forrest's comfort, something she couldn't stand to ignore at a time like this. So she jumped on his chest and hugged him as tightly as she could so that he might feel a little better and have a means of hugging something for himself. She wasn't about to complain about it; it was the easiest and perhaps the best job she could ask for in this situation. She did, however, keep an eye out for the dragon in case she needed to defend Forrest. She might be safe from its rage, but Forrest and Magnus certainly would not. But then again, Magnus seemed to be very self reliant and able to take care of himself. Forrest was obviously in need of social contact, which begged the question: how in the world did he survive all those years in the forest by himself? He was perhaps the most social creature she knew!

Magnus was starting to get used to see Forest grab Willow for a hug, but this hug seemed different. In clear sight in-front of them was the skeletal dragon they saw flying on there way to the city. Now Magnus actually loved the thought of dragons, which is rare for a human. He was always fascinated by what they are and what they could do, but this was not how he wanted to see his first real dragon. With Forest not looking so brave for the moment and Willow focused on making him feel good, Magnus could not afford to start being scared. "Guy's what are we going to do I haven't learned any spells yet that could stop that." The truth was he did have a spell but it was in the book they got earlier, but he had not learned how to use it yet.

Alicia Red

Alicia sighed, still unable to find and inn that had rooms left she could afford. Roaming around didn't exactly provide a lot of money, so she didn't really have much to spend. There was one place left to check, hopefully it'd have one affordable room left. Sighing to herself she was about to open the door, or rather lack of door since the door was non-exsistant, when she heard screaming. That..was odd. Quickly running to the location of the scream she saw the skeleton of a dragon ready to wipe out the entire town. Her eyes grew wide and she immediately turned and ran in the other direction. There was no feasible way she could win unless she ascended, it'd stomp her into the ground. Sure she'd live unless it destroyed her Gem, but she quite liked her current vessel. All she needed was a bit more emotion to ascend, question was from where?

Forrest the Lovable Bear PersonForrest's arms slowly enclosed around Willow's back, her presence being the most comforting now than it ever has been. Closing his eyes shut as the sky became darker as the dragon's breath attack charged up, he ignored Magnus' question and tried his best to focus on the hybrid on his chest. There was nothing they could do about the dragon now. Its very existence shook him to the core and yet paralyzed his body with fear, the only light in the darkness being Willow, and even then, he couldn't find the strength or courage to jump up and fight it let alone answer his friend.

There had to be someone brave enough in the city to ward off the dragon, right? Surely neither he nor Willow nor the Magnus were the only ones able to defend humanity, right? That was another thought Forrest was able to find solace in, but it wasn't enough...

Merasmus, hovering over the city and replacing light with an unsettling darkness, grinned demonically as his attack was finally charged up. Opening his mouth with a deafening roar, a blindingly black beam of devilish power tore through the heart of the town, leaving nothing but death and destruction in its terrifyingly large wake.

@HuorSpinks

Willow the Hydra

She looked over towards the destruction immediately, ever alert. "Screw this! There's no way we can do anything about that! Time to bail!" she suggested in an exasperated voice. She would, quite obviously, be completely fine despite all that was happening, but she couldn't guarantee the same for the other two. And it was better to get the heck out of there than to risk them being murdered for an easily avoidable situation. Someone else would take care of it, she was sure. She cringed as she felt the aftermath of he attack hit her like a wave, squeezing him tighter and burying her face into his chest. It was so bizarre to be on the other side of this situation, and it was much more scary than she anticipated. Besides, she couldn't do anything to help since it was another dragon. That wouldn't be cool at all to attack another dragon like that. It would be rather uncharacteristic for her to just randomly defend a city for no apparent reason since they had almost no respect for humans at all. Not that she had any herself; the two men seemed like they wanted to help them though. You know, for whatever reason. Willow was just focused on getting them back to the forest alive, with or without soap for bubbles.
