Fantasy Dragons Reborn

Magnus Cain

"No that alright buddy just keep going,"he said . But as they kept going he was not sure on what he said. "If it looks like I'm getting behind just swoop me up so we don't lose any time."

@Salt Lord @Kazehana

Willow the Hydra

She was rather grateful that he dropped her down, and relieved he didn't realize what he had inadvertently done. She clung on tight, careful to secure herself so as to not fall off. Plus it was a good excuse to hug him perpetually with no one being the wiser. She wondered how long it would take to get to the town, but it might be weird if both her and Magnus were holding onto the same person. But she didn't really mind considering he looked like he was having a bit of a rough time. She thought he was doing fine personally, but there was always a chance he might fall behind.

@Salt Lord @Quinlan63

Forrest - Timeskip to TownForrest shrugged and looked ahead of him as he continued his run, ready to swipe Magnus off his feet if the time came.

...

The speed the three of them had been going at was enough to take them to the end of the forest in little over an hour, and as the bear-man peered over the line that separated wilderness from civilization, Forrest could only let out a "Woah" in awe. Everything was so differently colored compared to the blue of the lake and the green of the grass and trees... Taking in a deep breath of air, the energy-filled still-not-exhausted man swooped the probably-very-exhausted-Magnus off the ground and into an arm. "Sorry for making you run so long... I'll carry you the rest of the way. Now, where to go..."

...

Being the only one walking, Forrest himself decided where they'd go and where they wouldn't. Most of the small, tan houses didn't appeal to him, but there was one with a large wooden sign hanging over the entrance, which was closed by a door... "Uhh... how do I get in...?" the man asked the two hanging off of him for guidance, the concept of doors and door handles being a mystery to him.

Kylios - Alchemist Store

Kylios nodded. "All right, I'll get started on the potion then." With that, he grabbed his notebook and headed up the stairs towards his laboratory. All his recipes were stored in notebooks, arranged neatly into two large bookshelves. There were at least five other bookshelves in his laboratory, including the shelves storing his recipes. One bookshelf contained his research and experimentation notes, while the other bookshelves contained books related to alchemy, most of them instruction books or published journals from other, more experienced alchemists within the world, including some by his mentor. There was a whole wealth of knowledge in that room, and it was probably a little unsafe to store books in a place that commonly saw fire, but they had already been arranged that way by his mentor and he was loath to rearrange everything. It would take far too much work.

He had more or less memorized the recipe for strong pain-relief potions, but still he took down the notebook storing the recipe and placed it on the large stand in the center of the room. Then, he grabbed an empty bottle, as well as the necessary ingredients for the potion, and soon within the room rose a merry chopping, followed by some bubbling. About fifteen minutes later, he was done with the work, and now all that was needed was three hours of waiting before the potion would be considered finished. He pulled off his gloves, washed his hands, and headed back downstairs again, to the first floor. By now, it was time for lunch, and he was hungry. Now all he needed to do as to head to the tavern to buy his lunch, put up a job on the notice board and head back to his store to eat his lunch.

Unfortunately, as it turned out, by the time he returned, the customer was still within the shop, seemingly asleep in the corner. He sighed. There was no way he could leave the shop now. He was extremely loath to have customers in his shop without his presence in case it turned out that the customer was someone unscrupulous with an aim to take things without paying for them. So far, it was fortunate that he had yet to encounter such customers, but one could stand to be a little more cautious at times. if only to prevent such an occurrence.

He probably looked a little lost as he stared at the customer, before sighing and taking a seat at the counter, turning to his sister. Perhaps now would be a good time to catch up with his sister. Except... he was not sure what to say to her. She had changed so much, and so had he, and there was so much to cover that he did not even know where to start.

Magnus Cain

Magnus had been grateful for Forest swooping him up and carrying him the rest of the way. He didn't really pay attention to where they were going once they got inside the city. That would be until they had stop in front of the entrance to the Alchemy shop. He was not really sure why Forest had chosen to go in there but it did not really matter to Magnus much as long as he was having a good time. Forest had just asked for assistance with the door since he was not good with them so Magnus saw this as a good moment to be nice and helpful. "Sure buddy I got you just let me down and I'll get the door." Forest let him down and Magnus opened the door to let Forest and Willow inside.

@Salt Lord @Kazehana

Willow the Hydra

Willow had more or less dozed off during the long trek, still supported by linking her arms around Forrest's neck. She lifted her head off of the nape of his neck to look groggily at what was going on around them. "Where are we...?" she asked sleepily, blinking her eyes back awake. As it turns out, Forrest might just be a little
too comfortable and warm, depriving her of the alertness she so desired to have in unfamiliar territory. Adjusting to the city after the long expanses of trees, she found some sort of peace with being back within city walls. But she would need to get used to life without them if she was to stay with Forrest, which she fully intended to do. Society's rules were oft too much for her to handle anyway, especially when she had to hide herself from prying eyes. It was almost like she had been returned to the anxiety the city gave her. She never much noticed how stressed living among so many people could be until she experienced life outside of the constant fear and anxiety. This very much confirmed her decision to live in the forest, making her glad to have made the correct decision.

She wasn't sure, however, what Magnus would do, or if she even trusted him. If he stayed, he might create more anxiety for her, but if he left, she would still be anxious for other reasons. Either way, she couldn't trust him, not yet. Focusing on waking up, she rolled her neck and took a deep breath. She would have stretched, but that would have proved to be a bad idea considering she was so far off the ground. She felt like Forrest's little baby koala, always being held or clinging to him like the young of the helpless marsupial. It was nice to have someone looking out for her for a change, especially considering that she was usually the one people protected against in common societal circumstances.

Speaking of, what were they doing there anyway? She looked over Forrest's shoulder to look at what was going on. Wherever this was, it looked like they were going in. Super. And it wasn't a bar, so she figured it wouldn't be much fun for her. "Hey can I go find a tavern? It's starting to get dark and it would be such a shame to waste this opportunity," she asked, now getting to be actually awake. She would rather do something fun while she was in town if she had to be here at all. Besides, it had been a while since she loosened up and seduced some men for fun. Heck, maybe she'd get a lady tonight, who knows!

@Salt Lord @Quinlan63

Forrest the Lovable Bear PersonA look of pure excitement in his face, Forrest shook his fists with happiness as he looked around at all the pretty colors in the shop. What were these things? Of course, you had the occasional glowing willow of life or the shining flower of healing dotting the forest, but there had never been see-through things filled with pink water! Gently removing Willow from his back and setting her on her feet in front of him, the bear told her with a small hint of sternness in his deep, innocent voice, "I'll be waiting here. Please come back when you're finished at a tavern... whatever that is. See ya later!"

Upon discharging Willow to do whatever she wanted at whatever a tavern was, Forrest was already all over the alchemist's shop, placing his hands on the vials of exquisite liquids or looking down empty pots... things were surprisingly tidy here, a concept also completely unknown to the bear, and soon enough, he was grabbing glasses on display and pouring them into empty pots just as a child would play in the mud.

Giggling as a small, glowy bubble rose up from the pot, Forrest took joy in popping the result of the mixture and waiting for another, repeating the words, "Water bubble water bubble water bubble," over and over and over, popping each glowy ball of the solution with a small squeal. "Magnus, come look at this! It's a bubbllllllle," the man said with awe, his eyes shining with a new happiness.

Willow the Hydra

Willow sighed, as she was going to probably take quite a while. But he immediately started doing stuff she knew he shouldn't be doing, and she couldn't just leave him. Who knows how the shopkeeper would react to all this! She went over to Magnus before she left, making sure she was leaving him in good hands. "Please watch after him. He doesn't look like he'll be able to control himself without someone here to guide him. If I don't come back soon, track me down because I've hooked up with someone," she muttered, leaving with a nervous glance back. But this was her only night in town, probably for a while, so she was gonna live it up. Headed for the tavern, she tried to get Forrest out of her head. It was hard to compliment random strangers if he was going to be in her thoughts. Pushing her way through the doors, she scanned the bar and looked for potential victims to take advantage of. (Will go as fast as you guys do in the shop. That or if it goes too slow I will probs just meet you back at the shop with a trophy or two. If you go fast it will probably be funny, but you won't have time in the shop. Up to you lol)

Magnus had followed Forest into the shop with really no interest really there. Willow had just left off to go to a tavern to do who knows what and left him to watch Forest. He had gone to that shop a million times but with Forest might make this visit a bit different. Magnus thought he would see Kylios the owner but he must of been in the back or something. An then the unthinkable had just happened, Forest was messing with the pots used to mix ingredients. An whatever he put in it was making bubbles that were making him nervous. Magnus did not know much about alchemy but he knew enough that it was not looking good. "Hey Forest what you got going on over here," he said trying to stay calm. Worst comes to worst he might just have to leave some money for Kylios.

Forrest the Lovable Bear PersonForrest continued to look down at the solution of potions in the cauldron, waiting for another mysterious bubble to rise from it. "I'm popping bubbllles," he giggled, dragging out the 'l' the same way he did when he called Magnus over to sit by him. "Isn't it so pretty? Stuff like this never happens in the forest!" the bear exclaimed, poking at a newly formed bubble before it even had the chance to escape the cauldron, another small, exuberant laugh escaping his lips when an idea crossed his mind. Grabbing at the two vials which contained the solutions that made the bubbles when mixed, he let the last drops pour into his mouth, and sure enough, a tiny bubble would slowly rise from it.

Turning to Magnus with a wide grin stretched across his face and stars in his eyes, he asked a question which was bound to have a negative answer. "Where do they keep the rest of the bubbly water things?"

Magnus really had wished Forest was not messing with stuff in the shop. "Forest I'm going to be honest with you because I care about you. I'm not sure where he keeps them or what they really do. I do know that it is not a good thing just playing around with them without paying." He really Forest had known not to do what he did, but Magnus knew better then to get mad at Forest for not knowing something. If anything he was concerned about what he put in the cauldron. For all he knew any second the bubbles could turn into explosions.

Willow the Hydra

She managed to catch the attention of one rather average man, and flirted with him like no other. He bought them drinks, she casually touched him on the shoulder, he casually touched her on her upper thigh, she casually laughed at his dirty jokes, and he casually grinned with delight. They were about to leave for naughty activities when she suddenly didn't feel much up to it anymore. Her smile slowly faded into more of a neutral expression, and he looked at the door of the bar in contemplation. The man came back with his things to take her back, but she just told him she wasn't up for it anymore.

Obviously enraged by this, he got angry with her and slapped her hard, calling her quite a few things, but basically a bitch. It didn't much faze her, and she quietly got up and left. He grabbed her arm, claiming he wasn't done with her yet, and held it firm. He threatened her with more physical violence, something he was obviously good at giving, but Willow had had enough of that. She had somewhere she wanted to be far more than here with that guy. So she clawed him in the face, obviously startling the man enough to release his grip and stumble backwards. While he was stunned, she promptly made her exit, getting away from the threats he made to tell the authorities what just happened.

But she simply shrugged it off, assuming he was bluffing and didn't quite have the motive to do something like that. She headed back to the shop, rubbing her stinging wrist and her reddened face. Hopefully no questions would be asked. She pushed into the shop, seeing the two still there. It made her smile to know they were having innocent fun, though it looked like Forrest may have been having too much fun. She hoped they wouldn't have to pay for all this, but it was probable that they would have to do something in return.

She walked up to them casually, giving Forrest a faint smile for his antics. "Hey, that doesn't seem very safe. Don't put random things into your mouth," she teased, though a bit weakly. It turns out that the whole episode had drained her energy a bit, and she was just as tired as she was on his back earlier. She glanced at Magnus for a moment, happy that he had been looking out for Forrest on her behalf. She was relieved to be with these two again, even if she didn't really trust Magnus. At least he wasn't a tool. Though she wasn't doing too hot, and since she was in a safe and secure location now, she felt the wave of energy loss crash into her. So she slowly sat in a nearby chair, trying to recoup the energy she needed to properly deal with this.

Forrest the Lovable Bear PersonForrest dropped the empty vials on the ground with a frown, crossed his arms, and plopped onto the floor, not caring that the broken shards of glass would have cut into him had it not been for his durable toga. "I didn't wanna breathe bubbles anyway," he lied and looked away from Magnus. In truth, breathing bubbles was all that was on his mind right now, and if he didn't find some sort of... wait, paying? Wasn't that something like buying? Forrest turned his head back to the man, a hint of curiosity on his face. "Isn't buying stuff basically trading...? What do you think whoever owns all this stuff would give bubbles for?" Maybe the guy that owned the bubble water would hand some over for something in return...?

His thoughts of what to trade for bubbles were interrupted by the opening of a door, and as he heard from Willow that it isn't safe to put such things in your mouth, the bear prepared to protest before noticing red marks on the elf's arm and a face that looked like it could show bruises any moment... standing up quietly, the man stomped on the floor, prompting an aloe plant to sprout and break through whatever covered floors back then, and after breaking off a leaf and scraping the gel from it, he began to carefully wipe Willow's bruises and marks. "What happened?"

Willow was startled by the stomp, but did nothing to react aside from a small shudder. She winced sharply as he started applying it, as she felt like it was burning. But he seemed like he knew what he was doing, so she didn't object. "It's fine. Nothing happened," she said quietly, giving him a smile. It was nice to have a companion that cared so much, but now wasn't the time to burden him with her problems. Besides, it was her fault that it happened in the first place. Or at least, that's what society has told her. But she just accepted responsibility, assuming it was her fault. And she didn't want Forrest to know how bad of a person she was, so she shirked the thought for now. "Thank you," she said, closing her eyes for a moment and letting the gel do its thing. This is exactly where she wanted to be right now.

Forrest the Lovable Bear PersonSatisfied with his work, Forrest let his hands rest on his hips before looking at Willow with a concerned expression. "Are you sure nothing happened? Last time I checked, you don't get hurt just by walking around..." Well, maybe it was different here in a town? Was there just some sort of magical field that hurt people when it felt like it...?

No, that couldn't be. No one was mean enough to set up something like that with so many people. The only other reason he could come up with was that Willow had gotten into a fight... Wait, then that meant that she fought too!

Excitedly, the bear bounced a little before backing from the elf so as to not hurt her any more than she was. "Did you get into a fight?! What did you beat up? Was it fun?! Did you save any for us?!"

Magnus was about to tell Forest that could ask the shopkeeper for what he should trade for the use of his things in the shop when Willow had walk into the shop. She had proceeded with stating with that what Forest was doing did not seem safe. But quickly did Forest notice there was something wrong with Willow as she had a looked like someone had beaten her badly. This definitely was very concerning to Magnus because even though she wanted to leave them he feels responsible because he was the reason they were there in the first place. "Willow whatever you did please tell me the other guy is alive and if he is where is he right now." Some people need to be taught a lesson in manners.

She looked up and smiled as Forrest got excited. But it faded when Magnus followed up. "It's nothing. It was just an accident," she said, wanted to get off the subject. She stood up and stretched, trying to get herself limber and ready for travel. They weren't going to stay in this one shop all day, after all. "Did we get what we needed here? If so, might I suggest moving on? This shop is a little dangerous for some people," she said, obviously hinting at Forrest. Speaking of, she walked over to him and tried to hold him still so he might not knock any more bottles over. "Calm down, big guy."

Willow took over taking care of Forest so he had time of one place he really needed to go. "Yeah come on guy's I have to get something from the mages guild building." Magnus was actually hungry and had not eaten in a while but he really wanted to go get a different spell book to read. Ready was a relaxing way to spend any moment not doing anything for him. But before he started walking out he remembered that he was going to have to pay for what Forest had been doing. He wasn't sure how much to leave so he just left a note for Kylios explaining what had happened and a sack with 500 gold coins. Also in the note he wrote if he needed more money or anything else he can just ask for it whenever he got the chance.

Lilith Tennant - Alchemist Shop

Lilith watched her brother talk about viles and prices and all things related to what he did for a living that completely confused her to no end. She watched the girl (Sabrina) go into a corner of the room and fall asleep? Looking to her with a raised eyebrow. Kylios had disappeared upstairs to make the potion and Lilly was getting sweaty in this hot shop. So she slowly unhooked her gaunlets and put them on the bottom shelf of a cupboard in the corner of the room (she didn't want to put it higher incase it make break her brother's shelving). Then she unbuckled the large chest plate and tucked that away, followed by her leg guards and waist plate. Once all that was away she was left in nothing but a heavy set of boots, tights that were a thin barrier between her body and the armour which was now off, and a black singlet. Once her heavy set armour was off, it was obvious just how much the woman had 'grow' since Kylios has seen her, she had a surprisingly rounded hourglass shape with a figure that attested to working out frequently but not heavy set like a body builder. She still needed to be flexible in battle after all. When all this was done and the sweat started to dry on her inner clothes, she wandered to her giant sword and hoisted it up and over her shoulder, looking comical now the armour was off and showing just how small she was in comparison to the sword (when I say small she was still 6foot, the sword is simply as tall if not an inch or two taller that). She glanced around wondering where to store the sword and at that moment two more people entered, then a third putting a distainful look on her face. She wanted to go to the tavern for ale, she wanted to bring her brother, but she could do neither with customers waltzing in every two seconds. She let them do as they please, but as the giant bear, human, thing, started to open up some viles a small part of brain realised that may not be alright by her brother, so she strode over to him and swung out the huge sword in a threatening manner, letting the sharp tip rest right up against Forrest's chin. His size not intimidating her in the least, nor his two friends. "Alright, enough playing around, either buy it or leave...If you choose neither, welllll...I can always make up a 3rd option..." Here she grinned in a weirdly happy manner, hoping he might just test her.

She immediately stepped in front of Forrest, batting the sword away with a glare. "Wow great business. You must get
so many returning customers by threatening them all with violence," she replied coldly in his place. "If you so desire violence, perhaps you should visit the tavern. That's where all the uncivilized folk go. You'll fit in nicely," she retorted with an icy stare. "As for us, we were about to take our leave anyway. Not like we wanted to be around the likes of you. Boys," she prompted, dragging them towards the entrance. She was not about to have some random bimbo tell her or her companions what to do. Who did she think she was? Well regardless, they lost her business. It was a wonder they were still open to begin with.

@HuorSpinks

Lilith's eyes looked down as some elf decided to step in between her and the giant bear...thing...The fact she battered it away so easily surprised her. The elf's tone seemed arrogant and condensing, and only cemented the stereotype she had of most races as it was. The girl's eyes narrowed back. "This is my brother's shop, not mine, and if I had it my way I would already be at the tavern..." Taking a sharp breath inwards. Now normally the girl was the least perceptive person in the world, but Ale was her most favourite thing, and the stuck up elf seemed to be bathed in it. Here she grinned as she placed the sword on her shoulder casually. "And you'd know all about tavern's wouldn't you Missy? You're bathed in the smell of Ale so strong I'm surprised you don't live there yourself..." Grin only widening further. "Stuck up elf-blood." She added as a clear insult.

Magnus had just put the note and the money for all the stuff Forest had used up when he turn around to see that Willow was in a stare down with a women that said she was the sister of the owner. Well that had to be the famous Lilith who is known to be maybe the strongest human women. Pretty much Magnus did not know what to do with this. He knew Willow could handle herself and was on his way out until he heard Lilith say something that any elf would be insulted by. "Willow your not going to fall for that right. She only seems like she wants to fight you." He whispered to Willow under hushed tones.

@HuorSpinks

Willow the Hydra

She snorted, giving Magnus a look. "Well," she said, glaring at Lilith with disdain. "I wouldn't be one to talk about egotism if I were you. You have plenty more than the whole of every other race. Now if you'll
excuse us, we have somewhere to be." She gave a curt, solemn nod to Magnus, then proceeded to continue dragging Forrest. No way was she letting him near that woman. Who knows what might happen to him! And she made it her duty to keep the gentle bear safe from harm. And it looked like if she could avoid violence altogether, he wouldn't get excited like earlier. There was no reason for him to want to stay if there wasn't a fight, right? Either way, she wanted him intact and in top shape. Otherwise, who would entertain her with their antics? No one. Then she'd have to tend to him and comfort him and let him hold her some more to make him feel better and... What was she thinking about? Oh right. Ways to avoid violence. Anyway, now was not the time for all this thinking about nonsense. She had a bear to drag.

Kylios - Alchemist Shop

By the looks of things, by the time he came down from the laboratory, his sister had removed her armour and was dressed rather casually now. Without her armour, she looked significantly less intimidating, and dare he say it... more grown up. She still looked rather child-like last he remembered her, and now... she looked like a young woman. He knew that it was impolite to stare, yet he did, practically drinking in the sight of her in case he ended up loosing track of her later. She looked well, and he was extremely relieved to see that, and more than very pleased to have her back in his life again.

Kylios could only stare in stupefied disbelief. A few minutes ago, he had been staring at his sister, hoping that she would be the one to initiate their most necessary conversation (like she usually did most times; throughout his childhood he had always let her take the lead because she had been so... commanding) when once again, the door chimed, indicating yet another customer. He sighed. He had just been about to get lunch, and already he was starting to feel the throes of hunger. The moment he was done with this customer, he was going to flip the closed sign over his shop. He should have done that the moment he dealt with that last customer and look what his inattention got him. But of course, they were customers and he could not chase them away without a valid reason.

He immediately stood up from his seat, "Good afternoon," he said cheerfully, taking note of his new customers. It was a group of three, an Elf, and two men, one of whom seemed to have bear ears at the top of his head and a tail protruding from his behind. He blinked. He very rarely saw non-humans in his shop, and already these three were proving to be quite intriguing. What could they possibly want? The Elf was of no consequence, it seemed; she had barely stepped in before declaring that she was going to look for a tavern and then left. An irritated look crossed his face then, as the customers began to look through the various shelves, the bear-man looking quite excited. He could only assume that these people intended to browse, which did not quite guarantee that he was going to make a sale, and dammit, he wanted lunch!

His jaw dropped in disbelief as the bear-man immediately began opening bottles and pouring them into bowls. He groaned and burried his head in his hands. Troublemakers, and before lunch! "Excuse me," he called, stepping over, an angry frown on his face, and anger and annoyance lacing his tone of voice. "Please do not touch anything! If you're not buying anything please leave!" Fortunately for him, the other man seemed to have the same idea, because he had also headed over to try to prevent the bear-man from doing any further damage. The Elf came back then, and much to his relief, her presence stopped the bear-man from doing any further damage. He badly wanted to get them out his shop now; he needed to ascertain the chemicals that the bear-man had used to and if possible use some other chemicals to delay or prevent the damage. The Elf had apparently gotten into a fight, and she was quite insistent on leaving, which the man also backed. At least the man had the decency to leave money to cover the damage. He was just about to thank the man when his sister intervened, also intent on chasing the trouble-makers away.

Thankfully, his sister was a heck of a lot more intimidating than he was, and with that sword, the trouble-makers were sure to listen to her over him. Though he did have to wince as she placed her sword under the man-bear's chin. The man-bear seemed almost childlike in terms of mentality, and he did not dare to think what the man would do when faced with a sword under his chin. The way the Elf spoke to his sister though, raised his hackles. From his perspective, she sounded extremely stuck up, though well, his sister was threatening her companion. Either way, it was best that these people leave as soon as possible.

"Lilith," he said finally, "Please remove your sword from that man, I'm afraid that he may end up destroying my shop," even daring to place his hand on her sword in an attempt to gently edge it away from the bear-man. His tone grew a lot more cold as he turned towards the Elf. "If you're going to be this destructive and not even buy anything, I'd rather not have you as a customer anyway. In fact, I would be quite glad to loose your business if it means not having to see both of you in my shop ever again. Please leave, now." Seemed that the male companion was at least decent enough to leave cash to cover their damage. "Thank you," he told him. "I'll see how much damage this man has caused and return the balance to you if I should find you again. You alone are more than welcome to return but..." here he shot a distasteful look at his companions. "I'd understand if you rather not. There are other alchemist shops in this city anyway, to suit your needs."
