Bisket couldn't believe it, his attack seemed to have actually helped Raditz. For some reason when the newcomer grabbed his tail Raditz didn't throw him off but instead escaped because Bisket's Dodon Ray pushed him, both of which struck him as odd. Anyway Bisket didn't have time to think about it as even with Ramune holding him down with more succes than any of them so far it was clearly only a matter of time until Raditz broke free again.

Time which Brisket wasn't planning to give him. As he charged towards Raditz Bisket dumped as much of his weights as he could without stopping while Ramune somehow managed to supplex the alien after the Carthu delivered a huge punch to his chest. Not wanting to give Raditz even a change to get out of that no doubt uncomfortable position Bisket grabbed onto his tail with both hands and hoped he was right about what happened earlier.

Orlock's eyes burned with fury as his Sousamen missed its mark. Raditz had avoided the deadly beams, but only barely, the chaotic movements on the battlefield throwing off Orlock’s aim at the last second. He cursed under his breath, the taste of his own failure bitter on his tongue. His anger only deepened as he saw the others struggling against the Saiyan, desperately trying to subdue him before he could do more damage.

Orlock’s lip curled in disdain as he watched Carthu’s reckless charge and Ramune’s stubborn refusal to let go, her feral grip keeping Raditz pinned just long enough for the others to act. Even now, Bisket moved in, grabbing the Saiyan’s tail again in a desperate attempt to keep him weakened. The sight filled Orlock with a mixture of contempt and grudging respect. They were fools, all of them, throwing themselves into a battle they barely understood—but they were buying him time, and that was all he needed.

The vampire gathered his energy once more, his aura swirling with dark power. Raditz had shown his strength, but he was beginning to falter. Orlock could sense the strain, the growing desperation in the Saiyan’s movements as he struggled to free himself from Ramune’s chokehold. It was almost poetic, in a way, to see such raw power being brought low by the tenacity of these earthlings. But Orlock was not here for poetry. He was here to end this.

As Carthu’s Super Dragon Fist connected with Raditz’s stomach, the force of the blow rippling through the Saiyan's body, Orlock seized the moment. His eyes glowed a deep, malevolent red as he focused all his rage, all his contempt into a single point. He had missed once; he would not miss again. "You’re finished," Orlock hissed through clenched teeth, his voice dripping with venom.

In an instant, twin beams of crimson light erupted from his eyes, cutting through the air with deadly precision. This time, there would be no hesitation, no room for error. Orlock aimed directly for Raditz’s head, intent on blasting a hole straight through his skull. The beams blazed forward, searing a path toward their target, aiming to strike while Raditz was still reeling from Carthu’s and Ramune’s combined assault. As the beams tore through the battlefield, Orlock watched with cold, calculating eyes, ready to see his enemy fall.

Raditz struggled against Ramune, before losing all his strength as once again, his tail was grabbed. "Get off me! You... weaklings! Get off!" Unable to muster any strength, Raditz watched as two red beams of light approached his eyes. As he watched them approach, time seemed to slow down for him, as his life flashed before him. Regret could be seen on his face, along with anger and frustration at the fact he was about to die.

His only consolation might have been the knowledge that Ramune would die with him, but he would never know, as the moment those two beams of light pierced his eyes, his world went dark. As for Ramune, not second after the beams pierced Raditz's eyes, did it penetrate through the back of his skull and continue right on through to Ramune's. Her hardened body, coupled with it having already gone through Radtiz, prevented it from completely penetrating all the way through her skull, but it was enough to kill her.

The group of fighters won, but at what cost? Both Mia and Ramune were dead, and who knew if more of them would come once they realized Raditz hadn't returned, or perhaps they were already on their way as they stood their, slowly taking in the fact the fight was over.

----------------------------------------------------------------

Mia and Ramune were both currently standing in front of a desk the size of house, being told that they were going to be heading off to train under King Kai, as apparently more Saiyans were on the way. Both already knew about the dragon balls, so they didn't ask what training while dead would do to help them. Well, Ramune might have forgotten for a second, but if she did, everyone ignored it.

"Not a chance! Sparky he seems to want to try and see...."
*Pop*
"Eye to Eye with....What the HFIL?," Ramune would look around the gigantic office she found herself in next to Mia as her brain slowly tried to process what just happened.

"Oh that knuckle-dragging, blood-scrounging, grub-(beep), oafish beep beep-munching, mangy beep-nugget beep...I am so having words with him once they get the Dragon Balls together" Crossing her arms and blowing the hair out of her face she nods with a smile to Mia, her demeanour flipping like a switch.

"Oh Hey Cherry...at least that pain in your neck monkey got what was coming to him. Plus the whole Will Life Insurance into LLC investment into Capsule Corp should be nice once we get back...nice Halo by the way" She leans over to poke at it slightly while (Not-Kami?) seemed to be explaining something about training and speaking with who she could only describe as Ox-Kings big brother with serious sunburn.

Carthu would back on his butt, breathing heavily as the energy finally stopped flowing through him in waves. “Finally that’s over, we can introduce ourselves!” He’d look over at raditz and see his corpse and… He’d kick it over to see ramunes dead corpse looking at the sky, glassed over eyes. He’d turn around, vomiting on the ground. “W-What? How did she die. But she wasn’t there, right? Or…” He looked over at her again. He had just killed someone. Sure he didn’t know her maybe she had been just as bad, but she had helped them take down raditz. And he had killed an innocent woman. He didn’t feel so good. Would he go to hell now? He plopped onto the grass below him, his arm getting a yelp out of him as it was still sensitive from all the ki released.

Orlock stood still as the twin beams of light seared through Raditz’s skull, piercing straight through and continuing their deadly course. His eyes glowed a moment longer, the power of his Sousamen finally spent as Raditz slumped lifelessly in Ramune’s grip. For a brief, fleeting second, Orlock allowed himself a moment of satisfaction. The arrogant Saiyan had fallen, brought low by his hand, as it should have been from the start.

But that satisfaction was short-lived.

As Raditz’s corpse crumpled to the ground, Orlock's sharp eyes caught sight of Ramune's lifeless form, her body lying still where Raditz’s had been. The beams, he realized, had done more than just claim Raditz. They had torn through Ramune as well, ripping through her skull and snuffing out her life in an instant.

For a moment, Orlock simply stared, his mind struggling to reconcile the sudden turn of events. Ramune was dead. The woman who had been a constant thorn in his side, who had humiliated him in the past and fought with such relentless ferocity, was gone. He should have felt triumphant. After all, she had been a source of deep frustration for him, her very presence a reminder of his past failures.

But as he stood there, the battlefield eerily quiet in the wake of Raditz's and Ramune's deaths, Orlock felt... nothing. No rush of victory. No satisfaction. Just a cold, empty void.

He took a step forward, his boots crunching against the shattered ground, his eyes narrowing as he looked down at Ramune’s glassy, lifeless eyes staring up at the sky. He had intended to kill Raditz, to make him pay for his arrogance. But Ramune... her death had not been part of his plan. It was an unintended consequence, an unfortunate casualty.

Unfortunate?

The thought barely registered before Orlock forced it away. He had no use for sentiment. She had chosen to put herself in harm’s way. She had been reckless, charging into battle without thinking of the consequences. And now, she had paid the price. That was the reality of power, of conflict. Weakness, even momentary, was fatal.

Still, Orlock felt a strange heaviness in the air, an oppressive sense of finality that hung over the scene like a shroud. The others—Mia, Ramune—had fought alongside him, not as allies, but as tools to achieve a common goal. And now, they were dead, their lives extinguished in the blink of an eye.

As Carthu’s anguished voice broke through the silence, Orlock barely spared him a glance. The boy’s grief, his horror at what had transpired, was of little concern to him. Orlock had seen death countless times, had caused it more times than he could remember. This was no different.

But as Carthu vomited and collapsed in shock, Orlock’s expression hardened. He turned his gaze away from the bodies, his thoughts already shifting to what came next. Raditz was dead, but the battle was far from over. Others would come—stronger, more ruthless—and they would not care about the deaths of these fighters. They would only care about one thing: conquest. Orlock turned his attention to Carthu and spoke, "You. Boy, what is your name?"

Mia, who had been dead for a few minutes longer than Ramune, had already heard enough of the conversation between Kami and the big guy to know what was going on, just rolled her eyes as Ramune appeared and started yapping away. "Cringey jokes, Mune. Very cringey. Also, none of those life insurance guys will know we're dead anyway." Mia shoos Ramune's hand away. "Stop that. Poke your own." Kami, meanwhile, had finished up with his chat with Yama. After letting Mia and Ramune know what was going on, he left for Earth, leaving the two to make their way down snake way themselves. "Well, could've at least given us some food first..." Sighing, Mia stretched her body to warm it up. "Whatever, shall we get moving, Mune?"

At Mias mention she finally looked up to see the edge of her halo, poking it as well with the same curiosity "Heh, Think mines bigger, must be because i was such a pure maiden" chuckling a little as she joined in the stretches, lifting each leg to touch her nose with the shin before leaning forward almost ninety degrees and doing so in the opposite direction.

"Also, part of my cunning plan was to make sure they found out. Ero-Sensei makes the call, the body confirms it, the lawyer follows the instructions, LLC thing gets done and Roshi gets his cut once they wish us back with the Dragon Balls. Kinda expected this to happen eventually so its why i set my twin sister Sangaria's bank account and subscriptions up years ago." There was a wide smirk on her lips before she sticks her tongue out at her and started running ahead of her. "Anyway, last one there is a frumpy frog!"

"Carthu" He continued looking up at the sky with a forlorn expression. "How are you so calm? We just killed someone!" He stood up to look at orlock with a funny expression on his face as he judged the man. He was taller than him and carthu had to look up to face him, but he gripped his fist anyways. "And what would yours be?"

Orlock turned his head slowly, his red eyes locking onto Carthu with a cold, piercing gaze. The boy’s grief was palpable, his confusion and moral struggle practically radiating off him like heat from a flame. Orlock almost found it amusing, this display of innocence, of naiveté in the face of death. To him, it was all so tiresome.

“Calm?” Orlock’s voice dripped with icy detachment. He took a deliberate step forward, his posture imposing as he towered over Carthu, casting a shadow over him. The grip of the boy’s fist didn’t escape him, but Orlock made no move to acknowledge it. He merely observed, cold and calculating.

“We just killed someone,” Carthu had said, as if that were some grand revelation.

Orlock’s lips curled into a subtle, contemptuous smile. “Is that what you think this is?” His voice was as smooth as velvet, but laced with an undercurrent of disdain. “You’re still clinging to the idea that life and death have some inherent value, some... weight.”

He circled around Carthu slowly, like a predator sizing up its prey. “That Saiyan was an enemy. A threat. And now, he’s dead. That’s all that matters.” His gaze flickered toward Ramune’s lifeless body, and for a brief moment, there was the faintest trace of something unreadable in his expression. Then it vanished, replaced by his usual cold indifference.

“As for the others...” Orlock gestured toward the fallen bodies with a dismissive wave of his hand. “They were weak. They died because they lacked the power ...Or the brains to survive. It’s the way of the universe. To deny it, is to deny fate.”

He stopped in front of Carthu, looking down at him, his crimson eyes narrowing ever so slightly. “You ask how I’m calm? It’s simple, really. Death is an inevitability. To fear it, to mourn it, is to waste energy on something you cannot control.”

Orlock’s gaze sharpened, his voice lowering to a dangerous whisper. “And what would my name be, you ask?”

He let the question hang in the air for a moment, letting the tension build. Then, with a smirk that didn’t quite reach his eyes, Orlock leaned in just slightly, his voice barely audible but filled with dark promise.

"I am Orlock, the Demon King... Or atleast I was some years ago before those corpses over there changed all that... My purpose is power, boy. Nothing more. Nothing less. I am beyond such trivialities as regret or remorse."

Mia scoffs at Ramune's comment about being a pure maiden. "Sure, Let's pretend that's the reason, and that it's not because your just bigger than me to begin with. On a more important note, did you listen to a word that was being said by Kami? Seems like more of those guys are on the way here, and they're stronger than the last guy."

Mia rolls her eyes at Ramune cheating the system. "Okay, sound plan... But he does have to first realize you're dead, which could take awhile. It's not like you are at his house all the time... Or are you? Do you live there or something?" Mia commented as they ran. "I could never. It was bad enough when I trained under him." Mia shuddered a bit at the thought of living under the same roof as Roshi again. She decided to switch topics. "How are the others? Seeing as only you and me are here, I assume they at least aren't dead? Though I guess Orlock would probably be in Hell if he died."

She lets out a laugh back at Mia at her scoff "Nah I'm not big, Yama's big, your just fun-sized! Also since when is some new stronger guys showing up ever something new? Pilaf, Blue, Tao, Red, Piccolo, The Monkey...so we have 2 more right? just means we need to train and get stronger than them or die trying!" she pauses considering her words for a moment "I mean can we die again? Would that get a double Halo?"

She lets out another chuckle as Mia dissects her plan "Ero-senin can sense energy. Hes not going to miss his favourite students going out, and yeah i do kinda crash there a lot...no rent, private beach, great taste in movies...and he's not so bad once you get past his hobbies, he takes the whole master student thing seriously, respects our choices...and he knows i don't swing for his team anyway" she shrugs a little "Plus likely still hoping i bring a girlfriend back one day. As for the others? Well Fluffy and New Guy were fine, Sparkles fine as well...for now, Little upset with him and when the other Monkeys are dealt with I'm decking him in the snozz for sending me up here"

Small Time Skip New
Arriving at the end of Snake Way, Mia and Ramune find themselves in a small pickle as to how to make the jump to the planet.

After both fallling into hell and having to restart from the beginning, something that Mia still berated Ramune about, the two encountered someone calling themselves Princess Snake or something. She offered them food and a bath, and a place to rest for a bit; something they both needed and wanted. Everything would have been all good, if she didn't try and eat them both after attempting to drug them.

At Kami's Lookout, the air was still. A heavy sense of loss hung in the atmosphere after the battle that had taken place on Earth below. Kami stood at the edge, gazing down with sad, ancient eyes. His arms were crossed inside his robes, and his expression was deeply thoughtful. As he feared, Raditz was dead, but so were Earth’s defenders.

Beside him, Mr. Popo stood quietly, his expression hard to read. The silence between them stretched on, broken only by the wind.

“Kami,” Mr. Popo eventually asked in a soft, serious voice, “What happens now?”

Kami didn’t respond immediately. He kept staring at the horizon, feeling the weight of his responsibility. Raditz’s arrival had disrupted the world’s balance, but what worried Kami more was what it meant—stronger beings would soon arrive. He had sensed this. And now, with Earth’s protectors gone, there was no one left to defend it from future threats.

No one, except Orlock.

Kami’s expression darkened. Orlock had survived the battle, but he wasn’t a protector. He was driven by ambition and power, which Kami knew too well. He had once tried to guide Orlock, but it didn’t work—Orlock’s heart was too corrupt. Relying on him was like holding a flame to dry wood—it was only a matter of time before disaster struck.

And yet, Orlock was still there.

“I watched them all fall, Popo,” Kami finally spoke, his voice full of regret. “Mia, Ramune… they’re gone. The ones meant to protect this world are no more.” He sighed. “I knew this day would come, but I didn’t expect it so soon. I hoped we had more time.”

Popo stayed quiet, watching Kami closely.

“Orlock…” Kami said, his voice heavy with disappointment. “He’s the only one left, but he can’t be trusted. He fought today, but only for himself, not for this world.”

Popo nodded. “What will you do, Kami? Can you guide him again?”

Kami shook his head. “No. Orlock has chosen his own path. I tried before, and I failed. But... there is someone else.”

Popo looked curious. “Someone else?”

Kami turned away from the edge and walked slowly to the center of the Lookout. “There’s one more with potential. They haven’t awakened to their destiny yet, but with the others gone, we can’t wait any longer.”

Popo followed. “You mean the one you sensed some time ago?”

“Yes,” Kami said, more confident now. “They’re not ready yet, but they show promise. If we can train and guide them, they might have a chance against what’s coming.”

Popo nodded in agreement. “They need to be brought here.”

Kami stopped in front of the ancient pillars, narrowing his eyes as he focused. “Yes. I’ll call them. But they won’t face this alone. The spirits of those who died today will go to King Kai for training. When they return, they’ll be stronger.”

Popo smiled gently. “King Kai is wise. He’ll help them reach their potential.”

Kami nodded. “Yes. They’ll keep fighting. But for now, we need to prepare Earth’s next protector. The threats ahead are far greater than Raditz.”

Kami closed his eyes, raised his hand, and began to channel his energy. He turned to Popo with a serious look. “Send word to King Kai. Tell him the defenders are coming. We may have lost today, but the fight is far from over.”

Popo bowed. “As you wish, Kami.”

Kami lowered his hand, and the energy disappeared. He stood quietly, deep in thought about what was coming. The future was uncertain, but one thing was clear: Earth’s new defenders would rise, even after today’s terrible loss.

And maybe, just maybe, the darkness within Orlock could be held back.

Kami stood in the center of the Lookout, his ancient eyes closed as he reached deep into his divine power. The wind whispered around him as he extended his thoughts beyond his body, searching the Earth for a spark—someone with the potential to stand in place of those who had fallen.

He sensed countless lives, each with its own path, but Kami was searching for something specific. Someone not just strong, but with the spirit to carry the burden of protecting Earth.

For a while, it seemed like no one fit. But Kami was patient, and finally, he felt it—a faint pulse, but undeniable.

A young man, far away. His power was dormant, hidden deep, but it was there, waiting to grow. It wasn’t raw strength that caught Kami’s attention, but potential—a quiet fire waiting to be ignited.

“Juno,” Kami whispered, sensing the young man’s presence clearly. This was the one.

Juno

Juno had been sitting at a lab in Capsule Corp, surrounded by a couple fellow interns who he was competing with. Sitting at his desk, he sparked and typed away with dilligence. He was approaching the end of his final project, the project that's used as a sort of "final exam" by capsule corp for new hires. He was given very limited information, then asked to make a capsule for a moderately sized and weighted item. For Juno, thinking of his village, had picked a snowmobile.

He was focused and completely in the zone, which made the strange voice in his head all the more startling. Falling back and off his chair, he looks around him, only seeing his fellow interns, who looked back at him in concern.

"I might need a break"
he says, giving a facade of a chuckle, standing up, and walking outside to a courtyard, splashing water from a fountain on his face.

Ugh, I can't afford to stop right now... So strange, I've never had auditory illusions, even when I've been too tired to stand. Maybe it's the stress. Still, what a strange voice, I've never heard one like it, at least not that I can remember.

"Hello?" he says to himself, almost smirking at his own craziness.

What am I doing?

"Do not be afraid." The voice was soothing now, almost gentle, but filled with an ancient wisdom. "I am Kami, the Guardian of Earth. I have reached out to you because you possess a great potential, one that you are not yet aware of."

Juno

The voice reverberated through his head, giving him a strange but relieved sensation. Was he relieved that it wasn't a malicious voice, or because he wasn't crazy? He wasn't sure, but he payed attention as he stared at his reflection in the water.

"Okay, I believe you."

At least for now...

"What would you have me do? Enlist me as a new guardian?"

Why now of all times? Did something happen? WILL something happen?

Juno found himself racing in thought as he wondered what the correct course of action was. He knew he was committed to Capsule Corp. and that by staying here he could help the world in his own way, but still. A part of him felt compelled to rise to the occasion. After all, if he really was chosen for his potential, surely they have a plan for him. Maybe there's a way he could have it both ways. He knew he'd be training hellishly, but a part of him was excited to be taking two steps forward in his life at the same time. Enough that he'd even call it a leap forward.

She offered them food and a bath, and a place to rest for a bit; something they both needed and wanted. Everything would have been all good, if she didn't try and eat them both after attempting to drug them.
Crossing her arms Ramune walked a few small circles at the end of the road, waving a hand over the edge before straining her eyes up at the planet like island in the air, then kicking the ground a little. "Hmm there isn't an invisible road, and not like we have a power pole or anything...Flying is ou..." she stops and tilts her head again, looking between the planet and Mia.

"It is weird that it looks like there is a road up there but still, I think i have an idea...." a grin forming on her face that may give the smaller girl a foreboding sensation "You know i trust you right Cherry? And id like to think you trust me, at least about as far as i could throw you." Reaching over to take the girls hands and beginning to spin at increasing speed. With a sudden release, she lets go to launch them at the planet in the air. Worst comes to worst they will need to go through HFIL again and get some rope or something, but they had to try something in the moment.

After watching her friend fly up, she began to gather energy in her hands, compressing it down into her marbles before letting them detonate at short range right after she jumped herself, repeating the process in the air with random explosions of Ki launching her along the way....right until she crashes straight into the planet not anticipating the sudden pull of the increased gravity.

"Eh? Why would flying be out? We flew plenty while running from that weird snake woma-" She stops as Ramune grabs her and begins spinning around to build up momentum. "Oi! Don't ignore meeeeee...." Mia huffed and steadied herself in the air so she wasn't spinning only to realize she wasn't slowing down, and in fact was speeding up as she got closer to the planet. "Aw fuck." Just before landing, she rights herself and lands on her feet. "Ouch, my legs will feel that tomorrow; could've been worse though, I guess." She watches as Ramune basically belly flops into the ground a few feet from her. "10 out of 10 for the comedic effect, 0 of 10 for the landing style." Mia grins a bit and goe to help Ramune up.

Not far away, on the other side of the planet, 4 individuals had stopped what they were doing after hearing two thuds - the second one louder than the first; they glanced at each other and began walking towards the sounds. One of the individuals stops for a second, the antennae on their head twitching a bit before they continued walking. "Seems like you'll be getting some new training partners, Mary."

Coughing out from the impact and slowly straining herself to her feet with Mia's while dusting herself off Ramune gave the area a bit of a closer look. "Dont worry, I have natural shock absorbers" rubbing her chest a little "Still stung like a.....Huh? Oh is that a Cat Fish man?...and whats up with the Gravity? I thought smaller things had less gravity not more?"

"No, I would not." Kami responded earnestly to Juno's simple question "Asking you to be Earth's defender is already a great task to bear. Being it's guardian is a far greater task I couldn't put on your shoulders. But within you lies the power to protect this world all the same. Though it has not yet awakened, I sense it deep within you. You have the strength, the heart, and the will to become more than you are now. To become a defender of Earth. You may not understand it now, but fate has a way of finding those who are destined for more."

"You have been chosen, Juno, because you are needed. An invader named Raditz, a warrior from a race called the Saiyans, arrived on Earth only recently. He came in search of his brother—someone who had once been sent to this planet to conquer it. But Raditz discovered that his brother had been lost, and in his frustration, he sought to destroy everything. The defenders of Earth,"
Kami continued, his voice tinged with sorrow, "faced Raditz in battle. Brave souls, strong in both spirit and will. But they were no match for the Saiyan’s power. Raditz was defeated, but at a terrible cost."

Juno

Though a selfish emotion, Juno felt rather relieved he wasn't a guardian. Not that he wouldn't defend Earth, but he had plans for life and becoming a guardian looking over Earth would have stopped it in it's tracks. However, a defender? He could agree with that, especially if there's a true threat coming to Earth.

Hearing about Raditz' invasion, Juno can't help but anger. His frustration wasn't just in the existance of an invading entity, but also at the fact he was not part of the fight. Could he have made a difference in the fight? From the sounds of it, he may have been more of a niusance than help. What was alarming is the fact everyone had seemngly died in the battle. Does this mean he was expected to handle whatever the next threat is on his own.

"Very well, if you believe in my potential then I will listen. What can I do? Do you have some kind of training regimen?" he says, now flying up and above capsule corp.

Now what I think about it, where could this guardian be? Do they have a device that lets them see all around the world?

"Where can we meet?"

Mary Onetta, a girl who died saving her friend Ramune from a large destructive mech being driven by Staff Officer Black of the Red Ribbon Army. From the afterlife, she watched Ramune defeat Black, and go on to help their friend Upa revive his dad with the dragon balls. Lady Baba had let her give one last message to her friend. “Don’t worry about me Ramune! I’ll train my hardest here! The next time you see me, I’ll be even stronger than you! I guarantee it!” And ever since, she indeed trained. Once she heard about King Kai, she used her ‘charms’ to convince King Yama to let her run across Snake Way. *cut to an image of Mary clinging to Yamas’ arm and begging.* It took her 7 whole years to make it to King Kais’ planet (mostly cause she kept falling) by then she had watched Ramune take on King Orlock, twice even. But she finally made it, and spent the next few years training under King Kai.

Upon seeing the new arrivals, Mary shouted “Ramune!!!!” And ran to her to grab her in a big hug. Her hugs were just as bone crushing as when she was a kid. She had always been strong for a girl.

As Juno hovered above Capsule Corp, Kami’s voice returned, steady and patient, as if he’d anticipated Juno’s question. "Your determination is strong, Juno, and that is admirable. But before you can train with me, there is someone else you must learn from." Kami’s voice took on a more serious tone, laced with a touch of caution. "There is a reason for this, Juno. The one I am sending you to is not an ordinary teacher. He is powerful, but he is also ruthless, with a heart hardened by darkness. His name is Orlock."

Kami continued, his voice calm but direct. "Orlock is a vampire—one who has existed for centuries, honing his strength and skills over time. He was once meant to become a guardian himself, but that path was denied him when his heart grew cold, drawn more to the allure of power than to the duty of protecting others. I tried to guide him down a path of light, but I failed. Orlock’s motives are his own."
