Realistic or Modern Don’t Tell Me to Calm Down

She frowned and just stayed running her fingers through his hair to soothe him. “I don’t think he’s all there just yet. Might take him a day or so.” She mumbled, smiling when he just pointed at the door. “No honey we aren’t going anywhere… your dad is worried about you just like I am… you want some water? Or a snack?” She asked him quietly. There was no way she would be able to explain everything to him right now and him understand.

He smiled and smacked her ass as he walked through to their bedroom to get dressed. “Not with our nugget in the house in the morning.” He chuckled.

Eddie watched as Lucas gave her a small nod but still stayed quiet "Is he always this out of it after?" He asked her genuinely wanting to know so he could learn better for himself.

Max laughed lightly and kissed him again "Mmm I know." She murmured before nipping at his bottom lip "But soon....my hands and toys aren't much help these days." She whispered in his ear before leaving the room to get Lilah ready.

He groaned in frustration, shaking his head. “That was mean!” He called after her and chuckled while he sprayed some cologne on and went downstairs to wait for them

Carmen nodded and frowned. “It’s why I won’t let him stay over his friends places. I don’t worry about the seizure I worry about the after.” She mumbled “can you go get a selection of snacks from the little shop downstairs? And i could do with a red bull.” She mumbled, watching Lucas carefully.

Max laughed a bit when she heard him. She got their daughter ready and gave a sigh of relief, thankful that her hair wasn't a curly mess today. She gave a small smile when Clay came back into the room ready for today "You ready?"

Eddie frowned softly as he listened to her but gave a small nod "Alright I'll get some things." He said before leaving the room. He came back with his arms full of different snacks and drinks for the three of them "Alright here, I got a little bit of everything."

She nodded and picked up three different ones, holding them in his line of sight. “Which one do you want baby?” She asked him slowly, smiling when he picked the animal crackers, “you have always loved these ones.” She murmured, sitting back down and helping him eat them until he fell asleep, finally letting a few tears fall, leaning into Eddie a little. “I hate this bit. The worry that he’s gonna have more while he’s still recovering… you remember his very first one? He was only five and you were visiting and thank god you were cause the kids were all freaking out and god it was just a mess.” She mumbled.

He nodded and lifted Likah up, carrying her out to the car. “What kinda party do you want this year kiddo?” He asked her smiling. “I can’t believe you’re gonna be five.” He smiled as he buckled her in.

Eddie gave a nod as he remembered back to that day "One of the scariest moments of my life." He said truthfully as he watched Lucas "He looks a lot like me." He told her with a small laugh "Poor kid."

Lilah giggled and hugged her dad tightly "Can I have a Bluey party Daddy? That my favorite show." She said happily "Daddy? Can I have a baby brother or sister for my birthday?"

She smiled and shook her head. “Don’t tell him that he gets so pissed off about it.” She mumbled, wrapping her arms around Eddie gently. It felt like she’d never kicked him out. Like it was yesterday that they were still together and she was enjoying every moment of it.

He chuckled quietly, shaking his head. “I can do a blurry party but baby girl if mommy has another baby it won’t be by your birthday. It would take a lot longer than that. Babies take nine months to grow before they can be born.” He told her, getting her buckled in and got in the drivers side.

Lilah pouted some but gave a small pout "But...but could the baby be in Mommy's tummy? That could still be a present." She said watching him some

Eddie gave a small frown, he wouldn't lie that it stung to hear that, but he couldn't blame his son either. He relaxed as she wrapped her arms around him.and gave a small smile.

He chuckled and shook his heqd. “Babies aren’t presents pumpkin.” He told her, getting the car started and headed out of the drive.

Carmen sighed quietly and just yawned a bit, trying to reach the snacks without moving but failed, “long as he doesn’t have anymore we can take him home this afternoon.” She told Eddie quietly

Max came in with a bag of things for Lilah just in case she had an accident. She gave a small smile to the two of them before buckling up "You figure out her birthday party? She said she wants Bluey to me."

Eddie gave a small nod and helped her gave a snack "Thats good to hear, maybe we should call the kids and give them an update on him?"

He nodded. “I got the same from her.” He smiled a little. “We’ll work something out.”

She shrugged a little. “I don’t think they’ll be worried. They’ve seen it so many times.” She mumbled. They spent the rest of the time mostly in silence until they were being allowed to take Lucas home seeing as he’d woken up a little more with it now, Carmen walking him out to the car and sat in the back with him

Max gave a small nod and stayed in a peaceful silence for the rest of the ride. When they arrived at the park she got out and let Lilah run off to play once she saw where her and Clay would be sitting at. She leaned into him a bit as they watched her from the bench giving a small smile "I've missed our times like this."

Eddie helped get them to the car after getting Lucas discharged. He drove them home once Lucas was situated and gave a small sigh "You want some take out for dinner?" He asked Carmen as he held her hand while he drove.

She nodded and sighed a little. “That would be nice. We should check what good we got in the house first though. I got given so much stuff yesterday.” She mumbled, giving his hand a squeeze and watching the road, glancing back to see Lucas asleep. “You remember the drive home when we got to bring Jack home? The only time I’ve ever seen you drive slow.” She smiled tiredly as they pulled down her road.

He sighed quietly and just kept her close to him, not taking his eyes off of lilah. “I know but the work is good right now and the money is there to be made. I’m not gonna waste this time and then be stuck when it’s all dried up…. I want her to have the life we never got to.” He mumbled.

Eddie gave a small nod and frowned at the mention of the day prior "Right...maybe left overs then." He said quietly giving a small smile at the memory of bringing Jack home "Had to make sure my boy was safe."

Max frowned deeply and gave a small nod "I know, but she needs her father to be there for her as well. Not once a week." She mumbled

She smiled tiredly, glancing back at Lucas when he groaned and just saw he was still asleep, having to wake him up when they got home but got him settled on the couch with blankets and a drink and snacks, letting him go back to sleep.

Clay sighed and rubbed at his face. “I’m not having this argument again max. Every time you pick the same damn one and I’m tucking tired of it alright?!” He muttered, getting up and going to lilah when she asked for help on the swings.

Eddie helped them inside once they got home and smiled widely seeing the girls come rushing down to hug Carmen "Hey keep it quiet, your brother is still out of it." He told them gently.

Max frowned deeply as he got up shaking her head some "And everytime you've told me that you'll come back to us.." she muttered quietly to herself.

Carmen smiled and held them both close, taking them to the other room to let Lucas rest some more, getting them both a drink. “Is Jack upstairs?” She asked them yawning a little and getting herself a glass of wine, getting Eddie a soda.

He pushed her on the swings until she claimed she was getting hungry and then picked her up, carrying her in his shoulders back to max. “You think it’s getting close to lunch time babe?” He asked her.

Max watched the two of them and smiled widely. This was what she wanted, her daughter having both parents there with everyone. She gave him a small nod as they came over "Oh yeah I think so." She said happily.

Eddie thanked Carmen as when she gave him a soda letting the girls go tell Jack they were back home. He sat with her and kissed her cheek gently smiling a bit.

She curled up against him, resting her head on his shoulder, watching Jack come down with the others and they went off doing their different stuff downstairs, just watching all of them. “We make great kids.” She mumbled tiredly, trying ti keep her eyes open but from the lack of sleep the past week or two she was exhausted, not noticing the way Jack kept eyeballing them.

He nodded and kept Lilah there, taking maxs hand even if they were arguing. It wasn’t fair on lilah to have to deal with that especially when it was meant to be a nice day.

Eddie put his arm on the back of the couch behind her and gave a small nod "Yeah we do." He said quietly as he watched them as well. He placed her wine on the table as she started to drift off. He noticed Jack watching them a bit and smiled some "Whats up?" He asked him.

Max held his hand as they walked knowing that even though they were arguing, Lilah didn't need to know that. As they got through lunch and later into the day, she was hating the fact that he would be leaving so soon. She walked into their room once Lilah was down for a nap watching as he layed on their bed "When do you head out?"

He shrugged. “Half an hour. Don’t wait up tonight. I feel like it’s gonna be really late. Charlie got me doing shit for him as well.” He muttered, rubbing at his face.

Jack frowned and shook his head. “What is this?” He questioned gesturing between them “You have a massive row, leave mom crying, miss the funeral then come back as if nothing happened and you’re both cuddling on the couch?” He muttered.

Max frowned and moved to lay with him tracing patterns on his torso as she curled up next to him. "Be careful then." She said quietly before giving a small sigh.

Eddie gave a small sigh and looked down at Carmen "We had a very long talk, we want to try things again." He explained quietly watching him a bit "You okay with this? Please tell me if you aren't." He said seriously.

He shrugged. “I don’t care. It’s moms choice… Lucas might be pissed about it though.” He muttered.

He nodded and kissed her head. “I really think we should try for another kid soon though. Cause if we wait too long there’s gonna be too big a gap between them…. She asked for a baby brother or sister for her birthday by the way.”

Eddie gave a heavy sigh and nodded "Yeah....I'll have to talk with him." He murmured smiling some when the girls asked for dinner "Well lets fo see what we have." He said before getting up slowly and placing a pillow under Carmen's head.

Max frowned deeply and shook her head some "I know....she has asked me as well. I wamt to give her one Clay...but I can't keep doing this alone. She is a handful enough, put a newborn into that? No...I...I can't do it." She admitted.

He sighed quietly and kissed her temple. “I know but she’s gonna be in school by the time a baby gets here. And I can move to doing full nights. So I’m around til they go to bed.” He pointed out. “I’m telling you that now is the best time for it.” He coaxed.

Carmen slept through til the kids had gone to bed, only waking up with Eddie nudging her and she let him help her up to go up to bed. “I’m gonna go down to the salon tomorrow. Talk to them bout going back to work.” She mumbled still half asleep, rubbing at her face. “Stay with me tonight puppy.” She mumbled. She hadn’t called him that one since before Tilly was born.
