Warren is very close to the spitting image of what most people think a Dauntless man should be. He's lanky, standing at 6'1, and toned with muscles that ripple with every movement. His upper body is tatted to the nines, with an assortment of tattoos that seem to be miscellaneous and meaningless, though all done in the same style(likely by the same artist). The most notable of these is the words "Super Star" scrawled across his abdomen. However, unlike the traditional Dauntless beefcake, he's thinner and more gaunt in his appearance. His skinniness is very apparent in his face, giving him a skeletal-like depth to his cheeks that highlight his high cheekbones and square jawline.
His hair balances somewhere between dirty blonde and a light brunette in color, falling in a layered shaggy cut to his neck. He's cut bangs into it occasionally, but they've grown out to about mid ear length. It can be fluffy and quite messy, and although he attempts to pull it back for training and combat, his grown-out bangs frequently fall out of place and into his eyes. His eyes are brown, deep-set, and framed by his square nose and straight brows. He has a couple of small beauty marks/moles along his jaw line.
Typically, War will dress in a mix of grunge and utilitarian fashion styles, often wearing a few layered necklaces, rings, a watch, and bracelets, usually gold.

Much like his appearance, Warren is stereotypical in his outward persona. He's always been an ambitious young man, with dreams of conquering the faction from the inside. He's boisterous, excitable, with a bit of a gruff side and a huge attitude problem. He walks and talks like he's top dog— as he's usually finding himself to be so— though has deep seeded insecurity from his home life. While he likes to solve his problems head-on, and often physically, he's not a total meathead. He's smart, and takes to using those brains in strategy-driven combat. Despite being reckless, his conniving spirit and cunning mind get him out of the same trouble he makes.
While being a loud person, seemingly light-mannered, sarcastic, just with a trigger-happy finger for violence, he is not friendly. He's blunt, often taking the things in his life far too seriously, and allowing his competitive nature to get ahead of him. He's an extraverted loner, having a relatively small circle of friends(zero), but finding the presence of people to be energizing. He's hardworking, with an iron spine, unlikely to roll over to anyone. Stubborn as a mule. He can be quite charming, almost dog-like(in the best way possible) in his demeanor once you're able to crack his tough exterior and slip into his protective radar.

Warren Duke Summerhill was born as the second child to Cain and Aphra Summerhill, with his elder sister(born as Bennett "Ben" Summerhill, but later changed it to Chloe as she underwent a gender-reaffirming transition) being born about three years before him. Not long after Warren came his younger sister, Dakota Summerhill. With Chloe's desire to become a woman, and the birth of another girl, this left Warren as the only potential man in a household that would have considered itself traditional. As a result, his good-for-nothing father projected a hefty amount of expectations onto his only son. Warren was expected to be tough, do well in everything, and look after his family. He wasn't allowed the emotional range his sisters were, and was instead punished for emotional vulnerability.
The family lived on the South Side of the compound, where more crime and poverty resided. They were just this side of being factionless. The Summerhill family was a family of power among the Dauntless, they're a Dauntless legacy family. But instead of coming from wealth or holding a position of public office, like most notable legacies do, the Summerhills were famed for their knack for crime and brutality. Thieves, all of them, from petty pickpocketing to long cons to armed robbery and grand theft auto, if you can think it they probably stole it in some fashion. They often responded to their problems with violence, and it wasn't uncommon to see any of the family members with scrapes, bruises, broken appendages, or black eyes. Their home was small. Two small bedrooms for a family of five. His parents shared one room while the kids shared one room, which was essentially wall to wall beds with hardly any floor space to navigate. He and Dakota shared a bed as the youngest of the three, and although they were all relatively close in age, they all wore hand-me-downs.
Cain and Aphra were both addicts. Alcohol and narcotics, namely. Cain was more prone to abusing the former and Aphra the latter. It made them unpredictable parents, who at times would disappear for days or weeks at a time. Most of the money that the family got was mishandled and was spent on all the wrong things. It wouldn't be long before the reckless actions of Warren's parents caught up to them. When Warren was 7, Aphra suffered from an overdosed and died, leaving behind her three children and her husband.
Growing up without a mom & choosing the future: TW! abuse
After the passing of Aphra, Cain's temper and abuse of substances worsened. His violent nature was turned upon his own children and instead of his usual emotional abuse and manipulation, he became very physical with the three of them. His anger and mistreatment was mostly directed at his daughters, as he was displeased by Chloe's straying of what he considered to be traditional norms and Dakota's striking similarity to his passed on wife. Compared to the other two, Warren got off easy, but he wasn't completely safe from his father's fury. Standing up for his siblings, speaking out of turn, and trying to get his dad to kick the alcohol bug often resulted in a hard hit or two... or seven.
All of the children attended public school, where they all barely passed and scraped by. Attending was more of a formality, and Warren would often skip for more interesting endeavors: arms dealing, drug dealing, theft, and general unruliness. He was a bit of a bully. He found himself to be top dog, in charge. People generally feared him and his sisters and however they might retaliate. His short temper meant that he often responded to problems the same way his father did, with violence. He was competitive and often fought to win, especially in athletics. Despite being a bit of a bully, he stood up for the things he believed in, like his family, and was stubborn and a coward to nothing— except for his home life. He was always smart, and while he never applied himself, he scraped by in his classes by doing well on high-stakes assignments.
When the time came for his aptitude test, the results were clear from the get go: he belonged where he was born, in Dauntless. Chloe had already chosen to stay in Dauntless, and although his blood was important to him, so was his faction.
Initiation, Two Years Ago: TW! Violence
Warren was built for Dauntless. He excelled in nearly every facet of his initiation, his competitive nature giving him a strong edge over other initiates. He spent majority of his initiation at top of the class, finding the combat to come naturally to him. With a slight struggle through the fear landscapes at the end, he finished initiation as top dog. He did spend some time terrorizing other initiates, intimidating them and bullying them into dropping out. He frequently fought with many outside of training, finding something they did as an excuse to put a fist to their face.
He had a few flings while going through initiation, turning to sex as a way to cope with his home life, excusing it as a better addiction than drugs or alcohol. He still impulsively engages in these types of relationships, especially when he finds himself struggling.
Initiation, Revisited
Having finished top of his class when he went through initiation, he was approached and asked to take the open position for the instructor position. Having turned back to his life of crime post-graduation in order to try and help support his family, he took it gladly as a better way to make money.
