You collect scars because you want proof that you are paying for the sins you've committed.
Appearance: Everything about Raven is as honey warm as her personality. Her golden shaded beige skin is complimented by voluminous caramel colored waves that tumble past her shoulder blades. Her face is extremely expressive of her emotions, she couldn't hide them even if she tried. Sharp, coffee colored eyes are accentuated by thick lashes, angular rosy cheeks, a sharp nose, and full lips. Growing up well off, Raven has a full figure and toned muscles indicative of her status, never missing a meal and getting proper training.
Scent: Amber, vanilla, and cinnamon.
Height & Weight: 5'5, 137 lbs.
Body Modifications: The first thing Raven did upon entering Dauntless was rack up artwork from the tattoo parlor. Shoulder, thigh, forearm, hip, and wrist.
Physical Disabilities: None.
Faceclaim: Lindsey Marie Morgan
There is bravery in being soft.
Personality: Just like the moon, there are two sides to Raven. The face that Raven shows to the world is warm and friendly, she can start up a conversation with just about anyone and talk for hours on end. A loyal friend through and through, Raven is always willing to lend a shoulder to cry on or an ear to listen. Cracking jokes is her favorite way to lighten the mood or deflect a serious conversation, using humor as an impenetrable defense.
She is fiercely protective of those she cares about, and if you dare cross her or someone she cares about she will rain fury on you without hesitation. Beneath the bubbly exterior, there is a darker side to her that lurks under the serene surface. She is soft and kind, but can switch up on a dime and become a rather intimidating presence when angry. Both as scorching as hellfire and sweet as honey, the flavor you taste depends on how you treat her and those she cares for. Everything Raven does, she does whole-heartedly and is known for being a little overly emotional. When she rages the world shakes, when she cries she fills rivers with her tears, and when she smiles the heavens shine down on her.
It’s impossible to imagine that someone so friendly, can feel so lonely as well. Raven often shoves down her own emotions, not wanting to be a burden to those around her. A martyr through and through, Raven takes care of everyone but herself. Though she exudes warmth during the day, she is much more solemn and quiet at night when sleep evades her, always alone with nothing but her thoughts and nightmares. Raven doesn't believe she's worthy of love or forgiveness, the only way she feels she can atone for her past and justify her existence is by helping others and dying for a worthy cause.
Positive Traits: Playful, energetic, outgoing, passionate, kind, nurturing, thoughtful, intuitive, empathetic, determined, selfless, charming, strong-willed.
Negative Traits: Self-sacrificing, blunt, overly emotional, unsure, repressive, holds grudges, stubborn, easily overwhelmed, impulsive, self-doubting.
Hogwarts House: Hufflepuff (but Huffletuff like Nymphadora).
MBTI Type: ESFJ.
Moral Alignment: Chaotic good.
Temperament: Sanguine.
The horror you have seen is not who you are.
Likes: Ginger root, warm tea with honey, comfort food, physical affection, listening to others talk, friendly competition
Dislikes: Silence, being alone, sleeping/nightmares, failing those she cares about, sudden loud noises, disrespect.
Habits: Chewing her nails, tapping her fingers anxiously, pacing, twirling her hair.
Fears: Not being enough to save those she cares about, never getting over her sister's death, failing to honor her sister's memory, her nightmares, storms, thunder, hawks, harming innocents, Viktor getting revenge, herself, drowning.
Hobbies: Cooking, sketching, exercising.
Mental Disorders: PTSD, Anxiety.
Family: Zelenia - Mother, Malachi - Father, Raina - Sister (Deceased).
Backstory: Born the youngest daughter of a high ranking member of Candor, Raven's life should have been privileged and uneventful. For the first few years of her life, it was. Ever present nannies weren't the same as having her parents around, but having her older sister around was more than enough for Raven to have a happy childhood. The two girls were inseparable, Raina acting as a second mother that her younger sister adored and idolized. The oldest Salazar daughter was mature and well-mannered, loved by everyone who met her, whereas the younger was a bit more of a handful, not as sweet and well-behaved as Rania.
When Raina turned sixteen, Raven was unsurprised to learn that her sister had an aptitude for Amity. The younger girl couldn't understand then, why Raina had decided to stay in Candor due to her familial obligations. To uphold appearances and form powerful connections, the Salazar's more or less arranged a marriage for their oldest daughter upon turning eighteen. Raven was upset that she'd be losing her sister a man she didn't even love, acting out in hopes that her parents would see their mistake. The only result was more punishment for acting in ways that were unbefitting of their family status, isolating Raven even more from her distant parents now that her lifelong companion was gone.
Raven resigned herself to get over it, until she noticed the bruises appearing on Rania's slender frame. Unable to let anything go, Raven interrogated her sister until she admitted that her new husband, Viktor, could get a little too physical sometimes. Entrusting her parents to do the right thing, Raven immediately told them what Raina had admitted. Instead of protecting his daughter, Malachi told them to never mention it ever again, or else they would bring shame upon the family name. Quite hypocritical of an honest Candor man.
Almost a year passed this way, with Raven rarely seeing her sister, and when her controlling husband did let them visit, Raina was always making excuse for another injury. Then, Raina became pregnant with their first child. A naive fifteen year old, Raven thought that a child might make Viktor behave. How wrong she'd been.
The final straw came on a rainy night when Raven was home alone, startled to find her sister at the front door with the signs of an obvious struggle. Between her sobs, Raina told her that Viktor had beaten her yet again, but this time he'd finally broken his wife by taking something immeasurably precious to her, their unborn child. Raven couldn't sit idly by anymore, rifling through drawers until she found the gun kept in her father's office.
Thankfully, the raging storm and thunder muffled Raina's protests as she ran after her sister on the war path she'd set to their home. If no one would do anything to help Raina, then Raven would simply do it herself. Only meaning to scare some sense into her brother-in-law, Raven confronted him with the gun, her sister screaming behind her as she did. Arrogant laughter was the only response as Viktor tried to grab the weapon from Raven, resulting in the two vying for a handle on the weapon, ignorant to the pleading of Raina for them to stop.
A split second and the gun was in Raina's control again, her body moving faster than her brain and a clap of thunder had her squeezing the trigger. Always the saint, Raina took the single step to throw herself in front of her husband, taking the bullet meant for him. Both Raven and Viktor were stunned, the rain pattering against the house the only sound until Raven registered her own screaming. Like a film reel, Raven has relived that night over and over again. By the time Malachi made it over, Raven's voice was raw from wailing, her hands and clothing soaked through with blood, and Viktor was gone.
In one night, Raven lost her sister and her sanity, as well as any hope of getting a good nights sleep ever again.
Their family name could only get them so much leniency, and with the choosing ceremony only a month away, the Salazar's decided it was best to send Raven into hiding for the time being. The Candor court would use the unavoidable truth serum on her, and there was almost no doubt that Viktor would seek revenge on her. A month of constantly looking over her shoulder and waking up screaming every time she succumbed to exhaustion, Raven knew she couldn't stay in Candor. Anywhere was safer than her current predicament, so Raven made an appearance for the first time since Raina's death only long enough to take her aptitude test and choose her naturally inclined faction.

Full Name: Anne Taylor
Name Meaning: Anne - Hebrew, "God has favored me" | Taylor - French, "cutter"
Nicknames: She was called Little by her "family", though has not expressed that to anyone in Dauntless. While she has no other nicknames, good luck getting her to respond to Anne as is.
Gender: Cisgendered female
Age: Presumably around the age of sixteen, is believed to be about sixteen.
Birthdate: Unclear, assumed to be in the late fall.
Rank: Initiate
Previous Faction: Factionless / Abnegation
Aptitude Test Result: Dauntless
Appearance: Anne could be considered to look quite plain and look rather young for a sixteen year old. She has a round face with full, round cheeks that are covered in many, many pale but visible freckles. Her skin is quite pale but smooth, possessing a warm undertone that allows it to darken slightly and still look good under some time under the sun. She has very straight, dark brown hair with thick, face framing bangs cut to sit just above her chin. She has large, downturned eyes with centralized heterochromia. While each iris is not two different colors, each iris contains two colors within it. The ring around the pupil is a deep brown and the outer color is a dark, peacock blue that in darker lighting might appear more like a dark gray than blue. She's a small girl for sixteen, a bit short and very thin. She has practically no curve to her with a very rectangular build. She's not very muscular either, and usually fights by fighting dirty and doing whatever she can to win, ignoring courtesy rules of no biting, scratching, hairpulling, etc. Typically dresses in rather plain outfits, usually a tank top/t-shirt and some sort of light overcoat, usually a zip up.
Scent: Generic soap and clean laundry.
Height & Weight: 4'11, 91 lbs.
Body Modifications: N/a
Physical Disabilities: None that she's aware of
Faceclaim: Isabelle Fuhrman
Personality: Anne can be a bit of an... intense character. One thing that's significantly obvious from the get go is that she lacks social skills. She has no understanding of social cues or the intricacies of social relationships and expectations. She's quiet but not reserved, which causes many to be rather unnerved as she makes frequent eye contact that she doesn't break and exists in your space with a lot of internalized intensity. However, despite being socially inept, she makes up for it for being extremely intuitive emotionally. While outright spoken nuances aren't caught, she picks up on nonverbal cues quickly. She is very observant and picks up on small, unspoken details that people don't always express or catch. She lacks manners and is still very unfamiliar with what it takes to be civilized— no, she does not eat with her mouth closed 90% of the time. Since she spent most of her life in an environment where she was alone and was not taught how to "grow up", Anne is also a rather immature and childish teen. She doesn't know how to or doesn't like to share anything that she deems as hers. She can be incredibly jealous and fussy. However, she does maintain the playfulness and curiosity that most children have as well, viewing her world with a sense of wonderment. Even if she does not speak, she asks questions with her eyes. She can behave in a very primal way, often showing her teeth to ward of threats. She's unused to the civilized world and frequently behaves outside the norm.
While her unorthodox behavior makes seem standoffish and unfriendly, that's not necessarily the real case. Her time with the factionless has caused her to really enjoy the company of others, often picking favorites and clinging to them like a small child does to their caregivers. Despite her primal instincts, she also has a strong will not to hurt others and exhibits feelings of guilt and remorse when she feels she has done something wrong. She can be quite empathetic, and her mood often reflects the moods of those around her. She wears her emotions on her sleeves, and even if she can't always articulate what she's feeling you'll very likely see it written all over her face. She lacks a filter that blocks her face from making the wrong faces at the wrong time.
She's a bit behind intellectually, as she cannot read or write very well along with her difficulty with verbal language. She often time lacks social fear, and often asks boldly though maybe rashly. Since she was taught to steal for a living, she has a bit of kleptomania and habitual sticky fingers.
Positive Traits: Intuitive, intense, observant, childish, curious, playful, friendly, empathetic, sympathetic, emotional, lacks social fear, bold, anarchist, independent.
Negative Traits: Quiet, lacks social skills, intense, ill mannered, immature, childish, jealous, doesn't share, primal, uncivilized, fussy, empathetic, emotional, rash, anarchist, kleptomaniac.
Hogwarts House: Feel like she's an odd breed of Gryffinpuff?
MBTI Type: ENTP, maybe?
Moral Alignment: Chaotic neutral-ish
Temperament: Sanguine
Likes: Hot food, sweets, large and comfy beds, has a pillow obsession, loud noises, storms, dogs, people, television, movies, warm blankets, games, milk, drinking out of wine or champagne glasses, found family, the outdoors, the factionless, Harvey, classical music.
Dislikes: Reading, writing, sharing, sour foods, showers, shaving, daylight savings time, winter, math, mean people, alcohol, the faction system, Abnegation, videogames, pop music, swimming.
Habits: Chews with her mouth open, bares her teeth if you try to take something from her, picking at scabs when she's bored, chews on her hair when nervous, "claiming" people, stealing from others.
Fears: Her found family with the factionless getting killed, being alone again, hurting someone she cares about, drowning.
Hobbies: answer
Mental Disorders: Extreme trouble with language acquisition and has a limited verbal vocabulary, uses some sign language to try and fill in the gaps of her communication. Has limited knowledge.
Family: On paper, Widow Taylor, the woman who ran the orphanage she stayed at in the last year is the only family she officially has. However, among the factionless she had quite a large "found" family of her own, with several people filling the role of caregiver. It's unknown to her and others where her birth family is and who they are.
Backstory: Anne doesn't really know or understand most of her past. She was born to parents who were less than thrilled by her existence. She would never remember who her mother or father was. She was already unwanted and was quite a colicky baby, so while her birth mother still mostly provided for her most basic needs of food and shelter, she practically kept her in isolation in an attempt to mostly ignore her child's existence. There was a lot she'd never know about the life she almost had. She'd never know why she was abandoned and unwanted. She'd never know her birth name. She'd never know her birthday, or how old she really was. Though her birth mother "cared" for her(if you could call it that) for quite some time, eventually Anne's presence in the home was too much for her to bear. She dropped off Anne in Factionless territory and left her there for dead, hoping to cleanse her hands of the trouble and never have to deal with a child again. The little girl miraculously survived on her own for quite some time. For a small child who had never truly been taught to walk or talk, she found some sort of survival instinct deep inside that kept her alive for quite a few years. Rainwater, scraps of food in dumpsters, roots and berries. It wasn't a good life on her own, she was barely surviving but had no way of asking for help. It was hard for her to know any better when she was just barely developing. For years, she somehow managed lived this way.
When the girl was about ten, she was finally found by a troop of factionless who had lived on the far outskirts of the city for many years, away from the public eye. By then, she could already be considered a feral child. They took her in and while they allowed her to remain somewhat wild in nature, they also took some time to teach her some basic communication and how to properly take care of herself. Since she struggled with speech, she s taught sign language as procedural memories were easier for her to make and she had a hard time with many vocalizations and concepts. She liked her life with the factionless. They became her family, especially a boy who was a few years older than her, Harvey. Harvey was like an older brother to her. He took the most care of her out of everyone, and he was very bright. He somehow understood her, even with her severely limited communication skills. She certainly loved Harvey the most and was quickly bonded to him, despite her initially lacking a sense of self. She had been called "the little one", since she was the only child in the group with the exception of a few teenagers who had failed the initiation for their chosen factions. That eventually evolved into her being called "Little".
By taking her in, the factionless group also expected her to take on their way of life. Not knowing the life of someone who lived among the factions, Little didn't mind at all. This specific group of factionless had a much larger goal than just feeding and clothing their tent city. They wanted to overthrow the faction system. The factionless group was indeed a group of anarchists, focused on making sure the faction system collapsed and people might one day be free to make their own decisions, not encouraged or based off of a stupid test and a stupid caste-like system. The group, simply deemed "The Council" was behind many acts of political terrorism as well as basic crimes such as robbery and theft. Though, most actions were motivated to out some form of hypocrisy in the faction system or to pressure leaders into acknowledging their existence or possibly join their side. The Council was responsible for the Jacobi murders/fires, and similar events, wanting to out the Jacobis for their illegal fortune. They fancied themselves justice makers and were making a statement about the corruptness of the elite. Money only helped you so much, so Little was also taught to steal to help aid her community continue to meet all of their basic needs in the midst of their political uprisings.
About a year ago, Little was found by a member of Abnegation not far from the tent city, foraging for food and water for the evening with Harvey. Realizing she was young and had not gone through initiation yet, they decided to "rescue" her and assimilate her into the faction life. She was kidnapped and forced into the custody of an orphanage, where she was treated as a second-class citizen for being factionless. They cleaned her up, named her Anne, and the lady who ran it(Old Widow Taylor) tried to slap some discipline into her. She was forced to learn how to "act like a lady" and was forced to learn some manners(though rather unsuccessfully). Anne had tried to run away several times, until Widow Taylor told her if she ever did escape she'd be killed along with whoever she was trying to run to. She stopped trying to run away, but had desperately tried to get into contact with the Council. Eventually, on a day she was trusted to go out, she got to Harvey. She tried to explain what happened, to the best of her abilities. He told her to stay in the factions, and that he'd come find her.
Anne took the aptitude test(though she didn't really understand it's meaning) and while she did test into Dauntless, her choosing Dauntless at the Choosing Ceremony was a bit of a fluke as she had jerked her hand back in quite a large reaction to having her had sliced open and her blood happened to spill over the hot coals. Initiation has been a bit of a wild ride. She performed well with hand-to-hand combat and with knives, but was extremely haphazard and dangerous to be in the training room with whenever a gun was put in her hands. She's done well in the fear sims, as having such a strong survival instinct and spending so much of her life on her own has adjusted her stress response to lower very quickly, similar to a wild chicken or zebra. Her stress response is also activated less often for psychological reasons, unlike most of her peers in initiation. Since joining Dauntless, she's found a little more footing in equality there as it's not clear that she came from the factionless. She's been trying to learn to read and write as well as expand her ability to speak, though struggles greatly.
