Divergent - Erudite, Dauntless, Candor (Claims Dauntless)
Appearance:
Cassie stands at an average height, a little on the short side for a Dauntless girl but still fitting in fine with most people. She has a thin but lean frame, packing a lot more muscles into her body than one might imagine, standing straight, tall and proud and commanding a presence about her that shows she is comfortable in her own skin. She has tan skin but not so dark as one who works outside. Her face is angular and sharp, and her eyes pierce deeply when they look at you, she has pouty lips and a small, straight nose. Her eyebrows are angled and thick, giving her face even more noticeable features, and her skin is free of freckles, scars, or marks of any kind. Though she does have two dark freckles on her neck. She has gorgeous dark brown eyes, so dark they look as black as her hair. Her hair is cut short so that it just reaches to her neck, and if she doesn't keep cutting it, it grows fast enough to tickle her shoulders. She likes to keep it short however and often gets it cut. She does not have any tattoos as of yet, and seems to have a body free of scarring. However one would be able to notice if she were to ever remove her shirt that her torso does have marks that appear to be from some kind of whip or weapon. These are seldom noticed however as they lie on her lower back and upper thighs, and she is careful to wear clothing that does not reveal this; She also has one more scar on her side that she claims is from an emergency appendicitis, but is from a surgery for another reason. One thing one might notice is that Cas is terribly flexible, her body is hyper mobile and tends to be able to bend and conform more than the average body. This also means she dislocates joints and often over extends her body, but on the whole she has found it a boon rather than a curse.
Cas likes to wear a number of things, in Erudite she often wore glasses although she doesn't need them, and would wear clothes in the standard blue color. She would often wear a form fitting dress that revealed the small yet entrancing curves of her body, and enhanced her elegant features. She also liked to wear dress pants and flowing blouses as well, paired with a fresh jacket. Now that she is in Dauntless she does stick to wearing black and red, and often goes with an all black look, with a popping red nail polish and lip stick to stand out nicely. She enjoys wearing clothing that is either very form fitting, or flowy, and can often be seen in tights and a long flowing shirt. She enjoys wearing boots that rise up her calves, and isn't against wearing heels.
For jewelry she has never much had the chance to wear much, as it wasn't something she wore in Erudite. However she has always worn a necklace with a simple small pearl, however she keeps this under her clothes or in a pocket.

Physical Disabilities:
Chronic Migraines, Hyper Mobility, Mild-Moderate Hyperalgesia/Allodynia
Faceclaim:
Daniella Pineda
Personality:
Cas has the unique ability to adapt incredibly to her surroundings. She is very intelligent and can figure out the mood of a crowd, the general personality archetypes and fit in with who she is with (if she desires to). Her intelligence is by far her most treasured personality trait, she is very observant, a quick learner, quick study, determined and as stated before, adaptive. She can generally keep out of trouble if she desires to, and can usually talk her way out of difficult situations when trouble does end up arising. Cas has a smart mouth, a tendency to be very witty and yet chooses not to use that too much in most situations, she likes to watch and observe before butting in, and likes to keep other people happy, or rather, complacent. She enjoys attention when it isn't overwhelming and non-consensual, she is not against having many friends, but nor is she fearful of being alone. Cas is generally honest and reliable, she is unlikely to go against her word and will take secrets and things said in confidence to her grave. She believes in loyalty though she struggles to deeply trust people, although she is happy to have people in her life, she often steels herself to try and mask the pain of losing them (to death, or a broken friendship), though it does hurt her deeply. She seeks to please those whom she respects, and especially tries to do well in the eyes of her mentors, yet she doesn't like to overshadow people, and has enough self-confidence to remain just "good enough" so that nobody feels anything against her. She is incredibly brave and seems to fear nothing, though that is not the case at all, Cas is just very good at hiding her fear and overcoming it through quick problem-solving. Although Cas got Candor in her aptitude test (as well as Dauntless and Erudite), she is surprisingly good at lying and manipulation, though those are not things that used to come naturally to her, and she doesn't tend to use them in her day to day life. She tries to not lie or deceive as much as possible, generally having the brains to maneuver her way through conversations in such a way as to not need to lie in the first place.
Cas has a general outgoing spirit and enjoyment of people's time and presence, she enjoys talking to people about pretty much anything, although if it isn't very stimulating to the mind she tends to turn on autopilot and is usually not really listening but rather thinking through something in her head. She is terribly good at multi-tasking but often does struggle to listen to a full sentence if it is very long. She tries to stay away from intense romance simply to keep herself and others from being hurt, but that's not to say she's against it, she's just wary of the pain that a broken relationship can bring. She is not one to hold grudges unless you have done something unforgiveable, and even then she could probably forgive you after time and effort of repentance and hard work. She is protective but also believes in people sticking up for themselves, and she tries to simply encourage than step in to do anything. Although she is good with people, loves people and loves to learn about people, she does struggle to be terribly empathetic or to grasp the feelings people have. She can sympathize but will likely leave her brother to do the part of helping people through problems. In the end Cas has a brain that seeks knowledge and desires information, she will often forgo many of her better qualities to seek out information and often has gone for days without talking or seeing people just to find something, or read a book, or learn something new. She is addicted to knowledge and information, science and mathematics, physics and classics... She's in love with it all.
The only thing odd about Cas is when she lapses into moments of silence and almost goes numb to the world, often this comes along with her chronic migraines, and she generally goes off to be alone, or with her brother. Not only do the migraines cause Cas to struggle through pain, dizziness, nausea and even fainting, but it causes her to struggle with socializing, and she can't think as well as she usually does. Although she is still very intelligent and still witty as anything through her migraines, they are terribly exhausting and she usually requires huge recovery from them, though one might not be able to tell unless you know her well.
Positive Traits:
Smart, adaptive, encouraging, outgoing, honest, reliable, loyal, content, hard-working, respectful, fun, charming, charismatic, useful, fashionable, friendly, confident, secure, forgiving
Negative Traits:
Manipulative, over-analyzes, judgmental (inwardly), over-confident, people-pleaser, intimidating, snobby, a bit selfish, can be hard to know deeply

Backstory:
Cassie has a long and complicated history. Cassie was born to Brennon and Lorelei Garner, two factionless criminals who had been kicked out of Dauntless and Erudite respectively. Both had committed crimes worthy of death or true exile, but had done such inspired works for their faction that they had been made factionless instead. The two found each other when they were both trying to rob the same store and bumped into each other quite by accident. They found that together they worked remarkably well however, and soon banded together both as criminal partners and as sexual partners as well, eventually marrying in a small factionless wedding. It wasn't long before Lorelei became pregnant with their firstborn, a son, whom they named Griffon. Soon after Griffon was born however Lorelei became pregnant again, and almost a year after Griffon was born, Cassandra was born as well. Now both children were prodigy in their own right, but both came with their own set of weaknesses and flaws as well. Due to the areas in which they lived, the fact that neither Brennon nor Lorelei put much care into her pregnancy nor into their upbringing, both children developed some interesting disorders. Griffon was unable to feel much pain and struggled to sweat, meaning he was often injured, infectious and sick with fever. Cassie on the other hand was cursed with the opposite, developing an over sensitive feeling towards pain, though at first that wasn't so noticeable as it would end up being much later in life. She also was hyper mobile, but her parents saw that as quite the boon, rather than a bad thing.
Griffon and Cassie were both very smart and very athletic. Lorelei took great measures and stealing the best books and teaching her children things that most children would never learn until their highschool years. While Brennon would spend hours a day training the two in martial arts and hand to hand combat, eventually also teaching them how to use a variety of weapons. At first it was clear that Griffon excelled far more than Cassie, and it didn't help that when Cassie failed, she was beaten, leaving her in too much pain to do very well the next day. Griffon would then learn to blame Cassie's mistakes on himself, as even when he was beaten severely, he was unable to feel the pain. This turned into quite the boon for both of them, Cassie quickly became much better at all that she had been failing at, and in turn she would tend to Griffon's wounds as he was unable to tell how severe they truly were. In time, both children were both well read and very adept at fighting. They also were taken along on the heists, mugging and even murderous rampages that their parents would take them.
However, when Cassie was 5 and Griffon 6, their mother became pregnant again, having a baby boy whom they named Luke. Now Luke was born blind, and also was given the same hereditary disease that Griffon had, the inability to feel pain and the inability to sweat. However Lorelei and Brennon just thought of their child as a biological failure, and failed to look after him. Griffon and Cassandra then became Luke's surrogate parents, at such a young age they weren't sure what to do, but they fed him, looked after him and nursed him when he was sick, just enough that he was surviving each day, even if it was only barely. They were both smart enough not to speak against their parents, having done so before and received a beating far worse than failing their studies, so they simply suffered in silence, and dreamed of escape.
When they were about 10 years old, their parents took them all on a huge heist. Instead of leaving Cassie or Griffon behind to look after Luke, they forced the two to come along, and therefore Luke was forced to stay locked at home by himself. The heist in question took far longer than either parent had thought, and ended up getting a lot of people killed. Cassie herself ended up having to shoot someone in order to protect herself, and shot him in both feet. However, her father ended up shooting them severely, and she watched the person die in front of her. Eventually they finished their heist and got home, only to find that Luke had died while they were out. Cassie and Griffon were upset but knew they couldn't do anything against their parents, so they made an escape. They thought it was better to go immediately rather than to prepare and allow their parents time to figure out what they were doing, so they took no belongings with them, and just ran from the house. They got very far, aiming to go to Erudite to stay with their Aunt whom Cassie had previously come across in a family album. But that was not to be. As the two ran, it began to pour with rain, so heavy that they hardly were able to see. But they were too scared to stop, so they kept running. Eventually they ran over a bridge, and that was when the car hit. Although the car tried to skid to a stop, it was too late. Griffon was only able to react fast enough to shove Cassie to the side, and she was only skimmed by the car, and she was flown off the bridge. Her body hit the raging river underneath and she was barely able to swim to the edge before she blacked out from the pain.
When she woke up she was in an Erudite hospital, Griffon was nowhere in sight, and she was strapped to a hospital bed. She began to struggle and scream for someone to let her go, only for her to be sedated when she broke free of her bindings, and had stumbled off of the bed, opening the wound in her side that had been previously stitched shut. She woke some time later and this time she was in the presence of doctors and nurses. They asked her her name, and she simply stated that her mom's name was Genevieve Wickham (who was, in reality, her Aunt). When Genevieve came, she thought that her other daughter had come to hospital, Henrietta, only to find Cassandra there. But Cassandra spoke quickly and quietly to Genevieve, alerting her to the truth of the situation, and begging her to take her in as a daughter. Genevieve was surprisingly quick to go with Cassie's idea, and therefore Cassandra was no more, and Cassidy became her new identity. Before they left, they searched the hospital high and low for Griffon, but to no avail, Cassie believing that her brother had died, they left. Genevieve was good to her word, and Cassidy was quickly able to adapt to Erudite, being quick and smart, she and Genevieve (along with Henrietta) were able to come up with a lie that she had been a sickly child and had therefore been homeschooled, only being well enough now to go to school. She became the twin sister of Henrietta, who was actually her cousin.
That was when she found Griffon. Cassidy was at school one day when she was about 11, when she saw her brother. She rushed over, her heart bursting from thinking he had been dead for about a year. Griffon recognized her, but it was clear he struggled to remember who she was. After talking with him, she realized that he had suffered much worse than she had, and had little to no memory of their history. She painfully told him only the basics, and even used as much evidence as she could find, to give him visual stimulation to help his memory improve. She researched Amnesia in her spare time, and worked hard to know as much as she could about that, and everything else she could get her hands on. After someone asked too many questions about them, seeing as they spent so much time together, Cassie would just act as if Griffon were her boyfriend, and people soon stopped asking so many questions, and were quick to leave them alone. When they were nearing the age of 16, Cassie tried convincing Griffon to come to Erudite, but he seemed insistent that it wasn't the right place for him, and he didn't think he would make it through initiation with his memory loss and forgetfulness. Cassie still wished he would, but relented to going somewhere else. Not wanting Candor as she knew she would have to be honest about her history, and not wanting Amity for fear of their "peaceful serum", that left Abnegation and Dauntless. But Griffon seemed to not want to stay in Abnegation, something about his home life in the adopted family he was in causing him to want somewhere else. Therefore they chose Dauntless, as coincidently, did Fable, Griffon's adopted sister.
During initiation, both of them, though mostly Cassie who had kept up her martial training, and had started much more in Erudite, had to do worse than they naturally could, as they didn't want to stand out from the crowd. Slowly Cassie has helped Griffon remember more and more, while tending to his wounds from fights, and Griffon has helped Cassie with her pain intolerance and her chronic migraines. So far they have fit into Dauntless well, but Cassie has a secret fear that her father and mother will be able to find them here, and is constantly on the lookout.

Appearance:
Griffon is a good looking well dressed and well kept boy. He stands as tall as most Dauntless boys but with significantly less muscle and breadth in his shoulders. He has a lean frame much like his sisters, and much like her he does hide a lot of muscle inside that lean body. He has a long torso with a smooth mostly hairless torso and arms. He has skin that is paler than his sister's but has a rosy and cheery look to it, and much like hers it doesn't appear to have any freckles or noticeable scarring. He has a kind yet serious face, with medium length brown hair that falls to about the same height as Cas's does, yet his has a lot more volume and is a rustic brown color, rather than his sister's raven black hair. While in Abnegation it was generally a little shorter but it was fast growing and often got to the same long length before they had time to cut it again. To match his hair he has warm brown eyes, and severe, intense eyebrows above them. His nose points out a bit more than his sister's, and his lips are not quite as pouty, but he has much more in terms of jaw and chin. He likes to dress himself in good looking clothes, nothing fancy or fashionable, but to a point that he looks well kept and smart. In Abnegation this meant wearing a nice button up shirt with a woolen grey vest and some grey dress pants. In Dauntless he enjoys to wear black jeans or pants, and will often wear a black shirt with a red vest or vice versa. He generally keeps his body covered and doesn't enjoy showing lots of skin. He has hearing aids in both his ears, and yet they are often not seen under his heavy lock of hair. He keeps himself clean and tidy, and likes to fix his own clothes when they wear and tear.
In the terms of scars, he does have a number of scars upon his body. All along his back there are numerous scars that appear to be whip scars, though he doesn't actually know what they are from. His chest, although free of hair, has a number of gnarly looking scars upon it, along with his forearms. He has a large yet unnoticeable cut right along his hairline that one wouldn't notice unless very close to him. He does not have any tattoos or piercings, nor does he plan on getting any.

Personality:
Griffon is an interesting person, he could easily be mistaken as a Divergent due to the complex way his personality plays out in most cases. Griffon is abnegation to the core, he is selfless and genuine, he looks out for others and thinks very little for himself; Griffon also likes to, and does, obey almost every rule given to him, there are times when he breaks rules, usually at the behest of someone else, but he desires to obey the rules. He never does this in a self-despising way, but on the contrary he feels most himself when doing selfless acts and when being a "good Abnegation". He is very observant and kind, one could almost mistake him for Amity through his kindness, but it is almost always out of a type of selflessness. He likes to think the best of most everyone, he doesn't judge people and simply wishes to understand those whom it is difficult to understand. He sides with those who are being picked on or hurt, and won't hesitate to lend a physical hand to help, but would rather jump in and take a punishment than to fight the oppressor. Yet he will fight if he has to. He has a hugely empathetical heart, he feels the emotions of those around him in a very spiritual way and seeks to help people through whatever they're going through, or to rejoice in their accomplishments. He tries to be funny but it generally just comes off as cute or awkward, but most people laugh anyway because he does it out of pure genuine nature. He will often look for areas in which he can help people, but is satisfied if there is nothing to do in that manner, and will just be in the moment to enjoy his time with his family or friends.
Griffon doesn't remember his history almost at all, suffering from a severe retrograde amnesia after a car crash, a head trauma and surgery to his head. He only has clear memories from the age of 10 or 11, and he has what feel like clips or fuzzy memories from the time before then. Because of this he has trouble remembering things in general, though in no way does this make him stupid or forgetful. Griffon is very smart, not as much as his sister but he is well read and very intuitive, to help him with his amnesia he often has a notebook that he carries around with him at all times, and he jots down all important information in there. He has a whole stack of notebooks, one for every year since the car crash, and will often go back through them when he is worried his memory is slipping again. He loves to write and not only does he have diaries full of memories and information, but he likes to write songs, poems and short stories, though mostly songs. He is talented with the guitar and often likes to improvise songs in the moment, and will write them down as soon as possible as to help him not forget them. He is not shy with his playing, but he is a little shy about his singing, though he has been told that he has a lovely singing voice. He loves to have long walks and pleasant atmospheres, not being very comfortable in a club, or a bar even. He may enter one of the two, but would prefer it during the day when it is less rowdy, noisy and rambunctious. One more area that Griffon is terribly shy in, is with romance. He is someone who likes to think he would be friends with everyone, but when it comes to people making advances towards him he gets all tongue tied, red faced and terribly awkward. He isn't against relationships, love or romance in anyway, in fact he thinks the idea is very desirable, but when it comes to himself, he freezes like a deer in headlights.
Griffon is a little obsessed with being clean, neat and tidy, but tries not to force others to clean or tidy themselves or their things, instead he generally takes it upon himself to keep an area clean or tidy, even if someone didn't necessarily want him to do so. Griffon is a sweetheart, and has a huge heart, therefore, it is easy to hurt said heart. He won't hold it against people, in fact he will hold it to himself and try to act accordingly. But most words (unless he forgets) hit deeply to this selfless boy. Eventually Griffon tends to get overwhelmed by his choice to help others and his inability to not let words affect him, therefore there are moments where he just needs to get away from most people and calm down, either through writing, guitar or just a long walk. It is difficult to make Griffon angry or upset, but all that is needed to do that is to hurt someone. Griffon will let you have your secrets, your desires, opinions, wishes, personal feelings and actions to yourself without judgement, but if you hurt someone he will step in to stop it. Although he doesn't look like a match for most of the brawny dauntless boys, it is surprising how good Griffon is at taking people down.

Backstory:
The beginning of this story is the same as Cassidy's. But I will differ from the perspective of the car crash.
Griffon and Cassidy had agreed to run away after the awful happening of their younger brother's death. After running for what seemed like forever and through torrential rain, that was when the car appeared out of nowhere, breaks squealing and slipping on the wet bridge. Griffon only had time to shove Cass to the side, and hoped for dear life that she had been missed, but he wouldn't know, as his body was hit by the car and he blacked out.
Griffon didn't wake up for a long time, having suffered severe cuts to his torso and arms, as well as a severe head trauma, he had been taken to a specialist hospital and had been under many surgeries and operations. Only waking drowsily from time to time. He managed to wake for a while, and seemed to be getting better, when a doctor noticed that his head (which had been healing, or so they thought) was bleeding and looked infectious. It was then that they realized his surgery had not gone to plan, and their was an infection in his brain, and he had not notified them because he couldn't feel the pain, and had no idea his head had even been in pain. Thus, he was sedated and was out for many more days. When he finally awoke they were also able to realize that he had lost most of his hearing from the impact and was in dire need of hearing aids, he was given very cheap ones to bide him by. However, he had no memory of who he was, and could only remember his name, and even that he was unsure about. The doctors and nurses at the hospital therefore sent him to an orphanage in Abnegation. Those at the orphanage tried to ask him his age, but he was unable to tell them, therefore they aged him as 10, when he was actually 11. He spent about a year in the orphanage, eventually having to learn sign language as the cheap hearing aids he had been given had died early on. After a year of being in the orphanage, he was adopted by the Morvo family.
Now Griffon liked Abnegation, he had no idea what his life had been like beforehand, but he loved this new one. Well... He loved the idea of it. He fit in well and seemed to be praised (in a selfless way) for his selfless behaviour. When he was adopted he was happy to have a family, having dearly missed his own, though not knowing who they might be. He was - they thought - the same age as their daughter Fable, and the two got along well. Griffon liked Fable a lot, and he would get very upset when Diana would beat her simply for her beautiful looks. Griffon was very much into justice and he would tell them to stop, eventually stepping in, as much as a 11-12 year old could, to stop them. He was punished for this insubordination, and they continued to berate their daughter, but Griffon would stop stepping in, to take beatings and to stop (in a peaceful way) their parents. Soon enough they stopped, though Griffon would find out later that they merely began to do this when he was gone, something that would make him very angry afterwards. But he could do nothing to them without going against his own principles and breaking every rule in the book, so instead he would try to comfort and look after Fable as much as possible, and would stick by her as much as he could so that their parents would have no time to beat her while he was gone. One good thing was that they did buy him better hearing aids.
However, when he went to school, he was stopped by a familiar looking girl. All at once a few memories opened in his head that he hadn't remembered in years. Cassandra, his sister. Or Cassidy, as she introduced herself to him now. They spent hours and days together, as Griffon sought all the information he had been missing, and eagerly soaked up everything that Cassidy told him. He didn't remember everything she said, but certain memories did come back to him like fuzzy dreams, and she gave him certain memorabilia, photographs and journals that she had found. It was during these times especially that Fable's parents were able to beat her in secret, and Griffon would always feel responsible for his irresponsibility to her. So he tried to have the three of them hang out as much as they could, Griffon needed his real sister, but he loved his adopted one just as much, and thankfully Fable and Cas seemed to get on well. At first they didn't tell Fable about them, but neither one of them keen to lie to her, it eventually became something that Fable understood, whether or not they talked about it. However, Cassie tried to convince Griffon to choose Erudite at the choosing ceremony, but he denied, saying that he would end up factionless because his memory couldn't keep up with the Erudite initiation. Cassie refused to go to Candor or Amity, and both Fable and Griffon didn't want to stay in Abnegation, even though he loved the faction. So they chose Dauntless.
Griffon enjoyed Dauntless initiation unless there was unnecessary pain and injustice. But otherwise his training from childhood has come back to him easily. Both he and Cass came out just above average for the physical training, and have been suffering like everyone else through the fear simulation.
