Fantasy Descendants of the Curse

"You're welcome stranger!" Willow waved him goodbye. Then turned back to face her brother and the two strangers again. She had missed whatever they had said, but it seemed to have aggravated Ezekiel.

"Brother! Why must you continue with this nonsense! Let's just head home, mother and father will be very worried if we aren't back soon." She frowned as she prodded him. "Whatever they said to you is not worth acting like an idiot over."

As soon as Marius collected all of the water he could carry he shifted into his wolf form again, slipped the yoke over his shoulders and began the slow trek through the woods back to his cabin. Oh how he wished that he could just take the short trip into town for this...or had been able to get the well dug already. It was difficult with only the help of Ben though and having to care for a child. Hopefully it would be done soon enough to finally avoid risky trips like this. And keep his back from killing him later as well.

Fae slipped out the doorway of the cabin and stepped lightly through the gardens, being outdoors was overwhelming and her body vibrated as all of her senses reached out. She could hear every bird and their chicks squawking caws. Smell every flower as it bloomed in the damp and dense forest. Her fingertips bristled with sensation after sensation after she touched her skirts and the rough fence post. Everything she saw was sharper, clearer... It was both terrific and terrifying... Surely Ben would understand after al-

"Umph!" Fae squeaked as she ran straight into Marius's chest. Where had he come from?

"Hot tea, hot bath, and then warm clothes and then off to bed. It was quite foolish of you to run off like you did. You'll surely be ill in the morning and your mother will have an absolute fit. Probably beat me for not finding you sooner..." Gaston sighed dramatically, hoping to stir a smile from Jamison,"Oh your poor poor father!"

( @Valjean24601 *cough* all powerful Jaques and Mary too *cough* )

"Fine..." Ezekiel said relaxing a bit, he was about to tell the man to scram then, but Willow came back, and interrupted him as she often did and he frowned at her annoyed. "Is it nonsense to defend your territory from strangers? I sure didn't think so and niether did father, so unless you want the entire pack wiped out cause you stupidly trusted some hunters, shut up and get off my back!" He snapped and slapped Willow's prodding hand away then turned to Luna. "You want to join a pack? We have one. Want to join follow me, if not follow the boy out of these woods and don't come back." His already short temper was smothered, and now with cletched teeth he stormed off headed home and so done with everyone.

Winston hurried through the woods, dread filling him. The wolves own the forest. His sisters.... He had to get back. His speedwalk turned into a run as Winston tore through the underbrush, reaching the house his sisters were in. Nothing outside...

Winston opens the door with one hand, holding the knife with the other. Zoe was standing at the other side of the room, leaning against the wall. "Are you ok?" she asks, walking towards Winston. "You look pale."

Valac looked at Sabella surprised then to his mother. "Are all the others outside too?" He asked Vivian wondering where everyone else was.

Ash looked to Sabella with the same look as Valac. "I'm only going to check on the pack, don't you have better things to do?" He asked wondering why she wanted to come with him. But then he noticed the way she was acting and how she was now carrying herself and smirked to himself as he left the den.

"Fae?" Marius stared down at her with an eyebrow raised. Even while heavily burdened with the yoke weighed down with water he barely budged. "What are you doing sweety? I thought I told you to stay inside tonight?" he put a gentle hand on her shoulder.

"Mmm. That sounds so nice." the slightest smiling graced his face. "You'll be fine if she freaks out...you're big and tough enough." he teased. "And we're all used to it by now, mom freaks out a loooot."

@Valjean24601

"Does she now?" Mary said her arms crossed as she came out on the path in front of them. She had managed to get Jacques to calm down and had Elizabeth set him up a bath and get him to bed as she went out following Gaston's aura to look for her son and husband. At first she was worried something happened but now she could see they were just fine, soaked from the now finished storm, but fine enough to make light of this incident.

"Well I guess if my mother freaked out sooo much I wouldn't say such terrible things to her then run off, now would I?" She said her usually smiling lips in a frown and the hurt from what her son sad clear in her voice, but then she sighed stepping forward to her son. "I'm sorry I blew up at you sweetheart. I know I probably scared you its just..." She sighed again then straightened up glancing toward her husband and giving him a grateful smile. "We'll finish talking about this when we get inside, any longer out here and you two will catch your death." She said concerned then ushered her two men down the path towards the house.

"Yes dear."

Gaston smiled gently, wearily. His whole body ached from the cold and where Jacques magic had licked his arms, causing small burns. They stung more than a fire's burn but he would have Mary look at them.

As soon as they arrived at the house Gaston ushered his family inside.

"Is Jacques in his room? I'd like to see him. If he's developed a fever like last time I'll have to take him to my parents."

Fae's breathing quickened as Marius lay a hand on her shoulder. It was shockingly warm and rough as she could feel his heat through her clothes more than ever now. Her hands gripped her skirts and she stepped away from him.

"I was only looking for Ben."

She gritted her teeth which ground together and she hissed in pain as she ran her tongue across them. They were so very sharp! Filed to a deadly sort of point that it drew blood from her tongue.

"Better things to do? Like what? Sit around the den and do absolutely nothing?"

Sabella snorted and itched the back of her head before tugging on her hair, it was nearly to her shoulders now, far longer than she usually kept it... She'd have to slice it off to it's regular chin length that evening.

"That's all I've been doing. Nothing. I wish you'd let me lead a hunt or something. I'd be good at it. You know I would."

Elizabeth hurriedly came to the door as her parents entered. "You found him!" She smiled seeing them all soaked. "Yes, but I think he is asleep, after mum absorbed most of his power he was exhausted, but on the good side at least the house is still intact!" Elizabeth smiled happy to still have a place to sleep unlike last time Jacques did this.

It was hard to notice outside but in the dimly lit cabin Mary's body was practically eminating a teal blue aura without her even trying, but she pretended not to notice it and so Elizabeth played along too. "Let's get you in some warm clothes. Elizabeth go start a pot of tea." She said putting her hand on Jamison's shoulder and ushered him to his room. "Gaston..." She said returning to her husband with worry striking her voice as she saw the condition of her husband. "What happened?" She asked holding his arm in her hands and looking at his burns.

Ash looked at Sabella curiously, but gave her a small smile. "I know you would, and I would love to let you, but that is Valac's responsibility. He needs to learn how to lead his own pack, but I'm sure when the time comes you'll make a great mate for a young alpha and you won't have any trouble keeping him or your pack in line." He smiled trying to get a laugh out of her.

"Ben is inside, sick as a dog. Remember?" He smiled softly. He hated it when she lied and would normally scold her. But after what had happened today he didn't have it in him at all. "We should get inside too, it's getting colder and darker out. Whatever you want to do can wait until tomorrow. Okay? I only want you to rest tonight..." He knew he was being an overbearing worrywart, but after all he had been through in the past he was terrified to lose her or anything else.

"I'm sorry too mom...I don't know what's gotten into me lately...I don't feel right..." He let out a deep sigh as he hid behind Gaston. Cheeks bright red from the cold and most likely fever. Pushing away from his dad's side he followed Elizabeth into the kitchen. He needed to sit down for a moment before getting hopping into a nice hot bath and some dry clothes.

(@Beowulf , maybe your character could happen upon a certain family of witch's cabin?)

Sabella glowered at her father. Was he trying to get a rise out of her? Because it was working.

"Listen, Ash."

She hissed through her teeth as she continued to stride beside him.

"Valac could care less. He doesn't care what the pack has to eat, he doesn't care about who has to hunt or where to hunt or what to hunt. Entrust me with some of his responsibilities. I can show you what a mistake you're making with him."

"I- but-"

Fae sighed and pouted, poking her full, pink lip out beneath her top one and batted her big amber eyes up at Marius. She touched his cheeks with soft fingers then wiped her thumbs across his stubbled jaw.

"Please, let me go. I feel fine."

The girl pleaded and pouted some more.

Gaston drew his arms away slowly from his wife.

"I don't seem to react all that well to Jacques aura when he... Snaps. Never mind that though. I'll go check for a fever and if he's hot I'll take him to my family immediately. Mother always has some kind of remedy."

Gaston coughed into his arm a few times before hauling his tired body up the stairs rigid youngest son's bedroom.

Elizabeth was setting the tea pot on the stove having to bit her lip to keep from straight up asking him why he ran off like a human girl in heat (PMS-ing), so instead grabbed some of their tea jars and looked them over. "What kind do you want?" She asked avoiding eye contact as she sniffed some chamomile tea but to her nose it didn't smell like anything.

"Is that so?" Ash asked turning to her and raising a brow at her challenge. "And what happens if I do that but you can't handle it? He is a man after all, and you know how women often have a hard time keeping up with us men." He said grinning, now completely messing with her. If she really wanted this he would let her, he just wouldn't make it easy for her.

D@mn those eyes...he could hardly resist them. Combined with her soft touch on his cheek it was impossible to say no. "Weeell...." He bit his lip and shifted his stance as he thought about it. "Fine, but don't go too far from the house and be back by a most, the time the moon breaks the tree line. Okay?" He bent over to look her in the eye to make sure she knew he was serious.

"I'll have the peppermint tea...my throat is kinda sore." His voice cracked more than usual as he spoke. It really didn't help that he had been screaming at the top of his lungs earlier. He laid his head down on the table to cool his cheeks down on the surface of it. "Maybe have little honey in it?" It was going to kill his insides later on, but it would help greatly right now.

Sabella growled and stuck out her index finger, jabbing her father's chest as she stepped closer to him and squared herself up. Her eyebrows lowered and she looked so strangely like him with the face she had on now.

"Valac is no man. He's nothing but a pup. If you need a man to get things done around here you aren't gonna find one, Pops. There's a place for me in this pack and it's at the top, Ash. I know it."

She couldn't believe he was grinning the way he was. It was atrocious! She was serious about being an alpha and would not let her petty brother get in the way.

Fae's lip popped back into place as she put on a pretty smile for Marius's pleasure. Although her eyes wandered to his lip as he drew closer and she couldn't help but feel... Disgusted with herself! Marius was basically a father to her! Strange thoughts had invaded her head from time to time about him but... It was nothing. She'd never really been around other boys her age and it was just getting to her head.

"I'll be home soon."

She replied quickly before hurrying off into the tree line.

"Right of course..." Mary said softly stepping back as he pulled away. Why do you keep going back to her? She wanted to ask as she watched Gaston go upstairs and she sank down into their living room chair. "I can heal you, and I can remedy our son." She muttered almost pouting to herself slightly annoyed. Damn it Gaston! I am powerful enough to take care of us all, why keep going back to a witch that now so much weaker than me. She wondered feeling useless as even with all her power her husband didn't seem to recognize it. Hell! She could heal everyone in the village and she would still have extra power. She took care of their son, and she would take care of him and Jamison too. She just needed Gaston to see that she could.
