Fantasy Descendants of the Curse

"Darling..." Mary muttered as she finally reached where Gaston and Jaques were. "How is he?" She asked hugging Her husband and seeing he looked to be at least a wee bit better than when he left. Disapointed yet glad she went to her son's side gently reaching out and stroking his pale cheek. "My poor baby." She coed leaning down and kissing her youngest's forehead.

"No, Marius."

Fae's voice trembled. She didn't know why she had done it, bit him that is. It had been instinct and a first impulse to do so and the taste of his blood... Oh, it had tasted richer and sweeter than any sort of cake yet also had the coppery and metallic taste of metal and salt. Her lower lip quivered, still stained red with blood. What had she become?

"There is time, always time. We don't have to decide tonight."

Thea said to Valac gently. The last thing she wanted to do was pressure him into anything especially leaving his mother behind.

"Take your time."

Again she reassured him and then pressed a quick kiss to his cheek, her cheeks burning red.

"Good. Let's get you inside now. You're trembling horribly." He wrapped his arm around her more in a snug hug. He instinctively new she was feeling a mixed bag of emotions from what had happened. Unsure of what had happened or what she even was. None of them were at the moment but he was determined to help her no matter what.

"Beeen, we're home. Fae is perfectly fine, not a single scratch."

"Speak when spoken to mutt." The packs alpha said coldly to Apollo, then handed a small pouch of gold coins to Fredric and patted him off. Fredric didn't notice it at first as he was too busy staring at Apollo. Why was Apollo of all people here?! And if Apollo was here did that mean maybe just maybe Amber was here too?! He thought sudden exicitmemt coming over him at the thought of seeing her again, then thoughts of their daughter coming into play. He had never even seen her, but knew if she was anything like her mother she would be a beautiful strong young woman by now. With a cough he left sad at the thought that he missed his daughter growing up just to keep the wolf in front of him from killing Amber, their baby and him. God he hated Apollo, but as he walked past Amber's mate he said nothing.

"I would mind your tongue pup, as I'll let you know. We have your pack surrounded." He smiled darkly. "And I'm sure you remember what happened last time." He said crossing his arms and looking down at Apollo. "So before you loose more than just a few bastsrd pups, I recomend you remember who you are speaking to.

Valac nodded staring at her his face was burning red from her kiss and it felt like his heart was about to beat out of his chest. "I-..." He started awkwardly swallowing down his nervousness around her to try speaking normally. "Is there anything I can do to change your mind?" He asked looking back at her and catching her hand in his before she pulled away. He didn't know why he grabbed her hand, for now he just knew he wanted to see just how set she was on going, as he was surprised that as soon as she knew Sabella was going she was practically ready to pack up and leave.

"He's better."

Gaston assured her in a quiet voice, careful not to wake his sleeping son, who so often would have fits in his already restless sleep.

"I don't know how he stays awake so long. Always up, staring at a wall, the roof. Always wringing his hands."

Gaston spoke feverishly. He was worried more and more everyday for his son and the boy only acted stranger and stranger as the days past.

Apollo swallowed a large lump in his throat at the foreboding words of the other Alpha. He gnawed on his lip for a mere moment, opening his mouth and then closing it again.

Again his pack and pups were in danger. Amber, Romulus, Remus... Memories of the pups before his twin sons haunted to him and his hair stood on end.

"If it's only territory you want I am willing to negotiate. We can expand into the north if we must, take villages. The south lands are wanted by many and as we occupy nearly the entirety of them I would be willing to give up from the foothills to the tree line, nothing more."

"...good..." Ben wheezed barely able to breathe let along muster the strentghing h to make himself a cup of tea so he just sat there his head laying on the table as he trying to fight his high fever and cough just long enough to live.

Mary nodded holding her son's hand as she looked back at her husband. "What has Belladonna and Malcolm said about it?" She asked pausing as she heard her other childern squealing happily. Clearly Belladonna showed them Gaston's parents' new puppy.

"Maybe we should get you something from the Coven or elder wolves tonight..." Marius looked at him with concern. The poor man was dying from his fever and cough. "Fae, you have a little friend in the Coven don't you? Maybe we could ask them for assistance? I'd have to escort you though. Keep Ben from worrying anymore."

Theodosia's pulse leapt at the touch of his hand to hers. Instantly she ducked her head, shy now that he looked at her so intensely, without shame... And he almost seem to be pleading with her... Oh she was just a love sick pup! They hadn't even shared a kiss, whispered vows, they weren't even mates how was she to say that she would leave everything behind for him or stay?

But all the same she felt in her heart she would.

"I-I... We all have hard decisions to make Valac...-"

She sputtered, flustered with herself and her thoughts.

They had said plenty about it. Gaston sighed and closed his eyes. His parents were wise and dutiful people and the coven house was the safest place on earth as far as he knew...

"Mary, don't take this all the wrong way but, I think- my parents and I- Jacques should stay here at the coven house and train with my mother and the other elders. Belladonna has honed children's powers since I can remember, mine, yours, all of us children and our son couldn't have a better teacher. He needs someone better than us, safer than our home."

Fae, however was distracted at the moment standing in front of the hall mirror, licking her thumb again and again and pressing the saliva to her wounds. Just like that, with a sizzling snap she was healed!

Ben watched Fae confused, his tired eyes looking up at Marius then turning white, as he decided to use what little magic he had left to speak through Marius. "Fae what are you doing?" He made Marius say then while he was at it he made Marius finish making him some tea.

At her words Valac's hopes dropped. "Oh... I understand..." He said quietly nodding, disappointment clear in his voice. He could tell she wasn't going to give him the information he desired. Sighing his silvery eyes glanced back at her one last time then he frowned slightly, no longer in need of the book on his lap he set it on the table and stood up. "I suppose I shall see you tomorrow then." He said softly standing there for a moment unsure of what to do. He certainly wanted to give her a goodbye kiss, especially with how beautiful she was in her nightgown, but he knew much like hugging her or kissing her hand goodbye it would be a bit much.

After all not including the fact that he now knew she liked him, nothing between them had really changed, yet it felt like everything had. "Good night Thea." He said softly giving her hand a small squeeze good-bye then turned for the door.

At this the alpha laughed out loud. "You would be willing would you?!" He barked with laughter slowly making his way down to Apollo. "Well that sounds like a lovely offer but I'm afraid I'll have to say.....NO." His tone suddenly became colder. "You think you can prance about this world marking your territory like some dog with a bladder infection?! Hell No! This is my territory and I'm not interested in your pathetic bargaining. No leave this land, or I will make you leave this plan of existence." He promised his words soaked in venom, and a promise of the pack's death.

Beowulf said:
"Smaller towns are often the better ones, I've figured out." Connor said to her. "And how I got here is simple. Boat. Don't ask me why, I simply came here by boat. Don't question my madness." He got rather defensive about that. Perhaps he realized that he should have taken a road in like any other sane person would.

A frown immediately crossed Mary's lips. "No! We've been through this before Gaston. He is our child, not your mother's and certainly not Marius's. Doesn't that mean anything to you?" She asked standing up and staring at her husband hurt and betrayal so clear in her eyes, you'd think he offered to see other people. "Your brother has had pure witch five children and was able to raise them all without Belladonna's help. Yet we have but one and you want him to live here?" Desperately she took Gaston's hands. "We are stronger than both your parents combined and you know that. All we need is their book of magic and we would be set, we can take care of our son Gaston, you know we can." she pleaded still stubbornly defending her believes.

"Grandpa. Do you have anything neat to show us? Any new spells or somethin?" Jamison asked eagerly. He always loved seeing what his grandparents were up to. Especially with magic. Maybe if he learned enough from them he could find a cure for himself!

"I have strong allies to the north."

Apollo snarled, he would not be giving up everything he worked so hard for, everything he and Amber had created.

"I call on them and you are beat. The father of my mate is a legend, the first of our kind and I don't doubt that he would be quick to his daughter's aid. If I were you I'd hold your tongue and your call to war."

"Valac! Valac wait..."

She stopped him. Her hands clasping his in hers tightly.

"Valac? What would you like me to say, to do? I'll do it... Just tell me."

Thea took a deep, deep breath and then took another step closer to her.

"Valac, I like you. A lot. And not in the... In the puppy and playmates way."

Bashfully Theodosia leaned forward and pressed the lightest, purest and most innocent of kisses to his lips, her lower lip trembling nervously as she pulled away.

"Ben? Ben! Watch!"

She hurried down the hall to Ben and sat on the edge of the bed, bringing the lamp light closer to the edge of the table.

Again she swiped a saliva slicked finger across her wound. She didn't care if Ben knew she was hurt she just wanted him to see what she could do to it.

"What do you think it is?"

( Ash is waiting on Artemis, has been for a while. Willow walked away from Ash so there is nothing I can do, and I was waiting on Valjean, for grandpa Malcolm to answer his grandson.)

The alpha laughed cruelly. "Stupid wolf the original werewolf has been dead for hundreds of years. Everyone wolf knows that." He laughed knowing even if that old wolf was still alive he was probably nothing but a bag of bones too senile to even feed himself. Little did he know just terribly terribly wrong he was.
