Okay everyone as the GM is unable to run this RP due to work , they asked

and myself to Gm in their stead so we have put our heads together and come up with a mystery for everyone, or at least the events that will draw us together. All over the world crime has spiked, people have gone missing, strange creatures have been seen prowling the back allies and computer systems all over the world are crashing and not functioning properly causing massive damage. Still that is not the most worrying thing, as several heroes and organizations have detected strange signals originating on earth and being broadcast into space, they question now is who is doing this, why, and what are they planning.

Abin Sur, Sinestro's best friend and the Green Lantern of Sector 2814 (the sector Earth is in), has gone missing while investigating disturbances on Earth. The Guardians of the Universe have dispatched their greatest Lantern, Thaal Sinestro of Sector 1417, to learn what is happening on Earth and find Abin Sur.

I'll let you GMs work out the details on what specifically happened to Abin for me/us to uncover and how it relates to the overall mystery. The fact that his ring hasn't returned to Oa or transferred to a new Lantern implies that Abin Sur is alive somewhere, so if it turns out that he isn't alive that probably means someone (or something) is keeping the ring contained somehow. But if he is alive that doesn't matter. It depends on what works best with whatever is specifically going on.
If you mention somewhere in the OP post of the IC thread that the Green Lantern Abin Sur has gone missing on Earth and the Guardians of the Universe sent Sinestro to investigate, I can probably start Sinestro off arriving on Earth in the general area most people are.

Is there an example of what you're trying to do in another RP? I've never heard of something quite like that.
Granted, this is the third roleplay I've applied for on this particular website and the first two didn't really get off the ground.

I'm thinking of submitting an app as either The Phantom Stranger or The Spectre. Which would fit in better and should I be their true counterparts or make an OC to fill the title since it's not necessarily limited to the two holders if the titles currently (those being Judas Iscariot and Jim Corrigan respectively)

As long as you keep his power to a reasonable level, I think it wouldn't hurt for you to post a character sheet. If Karcen or myself feel as if you're getting a bit too powerful, we will ask that you nerf him.

You'd think that and this is actually a super interesting point that most fans, including myself, still can't come to a satisfactory conclusion on. Why does The Spectre let The Joker run free? The best answer I can come up with is that it's still part of The Presence's plan and will. Also if reality warping is the issue PS would also be an issue as he is equal to The Spectre (new 52. Not doing old Spectre. That's actually way too messy)
