Lilly eventually finished her homework and was ready for the first game but things were awkward here. She didn't like the tension between her and Riley and Lilly told her mom she was going to the park when in reality, she went to go see Jace. Today was Thursday, his mother worked late and she was taking this chance to see him. When she walked in, she walked in with a little bear and smiled at him. "You aren't missing much at school." Lilly told him as she placed the bear next to him. "I am still sorry about all of this. Knowing your mother we can't be friends anymore after this." she whispered with a sigh.

When Jace saw her he shook his head. "What are you doing here? You know your dad will catch you." Her friend whispers softly. "Don't worry about here it's not your fault."

"But I'm Riley's brother. It makes sense Jace." She whispered as she sighed then looked at the bear and felt the tears run. "Jace, I can't be your best friend anymore. I want you to find someone else. This is where it all ends." She whispered as she sighed and stood up.

Jace couldn't help but burst out laughing. "Lilly, you're fine, really mom will be okay. I told her I started it, she doesn't blame you." At that her father walked in and looked at his daughter confused. "What are you doing here?"

Lilly sighed as Jace laughed at her. She looked at her father and smiled a wide smile. "Hello there." She said and laughed again. "I kinda walked over here." She added.

Jayden looked at her in shock but just shook his head at her. "Don't do it again, you'll give your mom a heart attack." He says before he turned to Jace and went to check his monitors.

Lilly laughed softly but smiled as she looked at her father and watched him with interest. "Oh so Jace, my coach wants me to tryout for captain."

Jayden smiled but didn't intrude on their conversation. Jace smiled "I'm not surprised, I think you should do it."


Her friend says with a smile. She was an extremely talented girl who often times underestimated herself, she deserved this.

"But I'm scared. What if I screw up." Lilly said as she sighed and laid her head on the side of Jaces bed. "Schools boring without you." She whispered as she slowly began to close her eyes. Her face facing Jace. She looked so peaceful for once as she slept.

Jaden laughed softly at his own daughter and watched the two fall asleep together. As much as he didn't want to disturb Lilly he couldn't leave her here. "Come on honey." He whispers nudging her gently. He smiled at her when she woke. "Time to go home."

Lilly opened her eyes slowly as her father budged her awake. She sighed and nodded as she slowly stood up but when her father walked out, she looked at Jace and smiled. She leaned down and kissed his forehead then whispered, "I love you. You're my hero." And walked out after her father, exhausted. Today was a long day and tomorrow would be a long day too. Everyday would be a long day.

Jace hear his best friend and smiled but didn't open his eyes. After she was long gone and he was alone he whispered. "I love you too." To him that was obvious for how he was not hesitant in the slightest to get into a physical fight with her own brother. Anyone who disrespected her, it didn't matter who it was wasn't going to get away with it.

When Lilly got home, she went straight to shower then went straight to bed where she immediately fell asleep. She was exhausted and was ready to just sleep. Tomorrow was going to be a big day if she decided to try out for captain, although she was scared for what the other girls would do if she did get the position.

The next morning there was a text from Jace awaiting Lilly when she woke. It read, "Good luck! I have no doubts." He knew she would do well and that she deserves this position and she should let no one stop her from getting it,

When Lilly woke up, she looked at her phone and smiled at the text. She put her music on and began to sing along and dance along as she got dressed and made sure everything was in her bag for after school. When she finally finished, she went downstairs and took an apple as she smiled at her dad then texted Jace. It read, "Thanks! Fingers crossed!" She decided to go through with this.

"Well good morning," her father greets teasingly at her excitement. Of course he couldn't help but smile at her excitement. Seeing the kids happy always made him feel good, that at least they had some things they deserved.

"Morning." Lilly said as she went to take all her bags to the car and waited for her dad. She wanted to get a couple minutes of practice in before school started at the studio. She just hoped today went well.

Jayden didn't want to keep her waiting so he finished his coffee quickly before kissing Aly goodbye. He knew leaving Riley with her was the right thing to do because even though she was the more docile of the two there was a side of her the kids rarely saw, she would whip him into shape real quick.

When Lilly got to school, the bullying started like it had been but she didn't care because when it ended, she tried out for captain and hoped she got it. She wanted to prove to everyone she was better then they were and she would be okay.

Landen was in his room grading assignments when Lily walked through the door. Looking up at her he smiled. "How did everything go?" He asks stopping what he was found to wait for a response.

"It went well. Fingers crossed I made it." Lilly said as she smiled and then yawned. She was bruised on her arm however because of Riley's "girlfriend". "What's for dinner?" She asked Landen with a laugh.

Her brother shrugged. "I'm not sure but Ebony wanted to come along this time, it's been awhile since you tow have seen each other. " Ebony was close to Landen's sisters and that was always a good thing.
