Dice D&D: The City of Shaldra~Zin

You are at the base of a ruined temple. The Pelor temple of Shaldra~Zin found at the north end of town. It resembled an Aztec temple before it was blown up by a high priests spell. Now pillars of stone, large rectangular stones and rubble shatter from large stones lay around. All that is left of the temples structure is its broken stair case.

There are about 100 busted up NPCs. All of them are Monks, Clerics and Priests. Most of them are too damaged to do anything. Some are helping us. The others are continueing to heal their wounded. Kelter is the only Paladin.

The temple is the north most point of the town. There are many small walk ways and roads leading between buildings to get to the temple, but only one main road. The central street. At the southern most point of this street is the Dizzy Dwarves Tavern. Along this straight wide road you can find random carts and creats of goods from the traveling market. Because its night time none of the carts present are vending and not many are even present.

Most of the towns people have locks themselves into their homes. If you listen really really hard maybe you would be able to hear some people fighting.

Does this information help? Is there anything more specific you would like to know?

Thanks, it's fine. I'll work up a reply

EDIT:

I just realized that I brought a bow without arrows O.o

Thats a bold choice Yesman, lets see how it works out for Jaks. Lol. You can either work that into the post for a laugh or say that you managed to steal some off a corpse back at the Troddin Court.

@Redsirrah you have saved a character that would otherwise die. Gain a point of inspiration. It can be used to gain advantage on any roll or to add an additional 1d6 healing to a healing spell.

You will also get free drinks at the tavern if it reopens and some reputation with the dwarves of Shaldra~Zin. Keep up the success and you may get a reward for your troubles.

@Redsirrah Hey my last post was a little hand holdy at the end so I edited it.

One of the NPCs can join you if you choose to leave the tavern. Dont feel pressured to leave. Thats up to you. If you want to leave you can request any of the 3 dwarves to help you through town.

I consider sheathing or unsheathing a minor action. Which in 5e i believe is called a bonus action. So you can move, attack and unsheather 1 weapon. If you wanted to unsheath both weapons at once. I would consider that a bonus action and move action leaving you with an attack.

You may unsheath, move and attack in one turn.

@Redsirrah it looks like you opted to go without any of the three dwarves? If this isn't the case let me know. If you are going this path alone you may want to consider stealth checks or outrunning the enemy.

You will have to choose just one. 2 will need to stay behind to guard the bar. If you request all three I will send you with Entfeller. He will be enough to make the battles fair.

Here is a picture of Adrik the barkeep in case you were wondering what he looked like.

Daniel Lach on Instagram: “Finally colored Adrik Tack owner of The Dizzy Dwarves tavern in Shaldra~Zin. One of my current D&D campaigns #art #artist #dwarf #dnd…”

Great turn @Redsirrah . I gave you some extra damage because you crit that d6 damage roll. It ended up being another +6 damage. Hope you can make it up to Kelter and Jaks in time. Their battle is taking a turn for the worse.

@Yesman That was a rough turn for Jaks. If you want your character to remove the sword from his body give me a DC 10 Will save. It takes a bit of courage and grit to pull a greatsword out of your own spine. This will count as your bonus action. If you do this you will still have a full move action and an attack action.

BUT! do not feel like this is your only option. If you leave the sword in you I will let you attack with advantage. (Roll 2 d20s and take the higher roll to decide if you hit or miss) The down side to this option is that you do not get a move action. instead I will let you use your move action to unsheathe your other weapon again. This way you can attack with both weapons this turn.

I hope this makes sense....sometimes it is hard to convey DM information when it is not in person.

Option 1: Roll 1d20+Will Mod to remove sword. (Your total must be higher than 10 in order to succeed) Then you may attack. If you succeeded at your Will save, you will be able to move.

Option 2: Roll 2d20+Dex Mod + Proficiency to attack with advantage. Unsheathe weapon as your move action. 2d20+Dex Mod without Proficiency to attack with offhand.

@Yesman I hope my last post didnt discourage you. You may uave taken a lot of damage, but you are doing great! Dice just roll what they roll. Keeps you on your toes.

Soon we can wrap up this fight and get some level ups before we move on.

Oh, I'm sorry. For some reason rpn didn't notify me that you had posted. I'll get my own post up asap

@Yesman and @Redsirrah a post IC has been made, just in case the site doesn't send you an alert.

Adrik and Jameak can make their journey all the way to Jaks and the armored enemies at the temple within the beginning of your post. When ever you post we will just slide you into the initiative order there.

I think it'll be better if I waited for @Redsirrah to arrive first. I am not confident with my ability to survive before then.

That sounds like a good plan. We will wait on their post.

Posting order will then be

Redsirrah

Adrik

Yesman

Enemy

All the other enemies will hold their position this turn. @Redsirrah you can make an attack of opportunity towards the greatswordsman who attacked you if youd like.

@Yesman the healer still cant find you among the rubble, but while Jameak has the enemys attention you can run over to that healer. He is about 30ft to your left on the other side a broken pullar. If you choose to go over there he can heal you for 8hp.

You also have the option to attack any enemy with advantage.

@Redsirrah it is already your turn again. That rotation went a bit fast. Your distraction basically stopped the enemy in their tracks so there wasn't much to right. Next rotation may have a bit more action from the bad guys. The enemy will go after Redsirrah and then @Yesman can go after that.

While we finish out this major fight you both might want to work on leveling up your character sheets. The XP from all of this will put you both up to LEVEL 3. You will be able to pick a path within your characters class that better defines how they will play. We will work these choices into the story for some fun flavor. :-) hope you are still having fun!

The badguys still havent gone. My last post was just a description of them making the dex saving throw to dodge that attack. When @Yesman does or doesnt make that attack of opportunity then I will go again with all bad guys Adrik and Kelter involved.
