Dice D&D: The City of Shaldra~Zin

@Naxtaroth I need a Con saving through against a DC 15. If you fail the saving through you will take damage from the wraith spirit. But, if you take this damage you will be able to chose from your current Campaign Boon or replace it with the new Wraith boon.

Ooooooh fancy, really hoping I can fail this tbh xD the Reckless thingy is nice since it's full damage on a nat 20, but I'm intrigued by this Wraith Boon lol

[dice]24366[/dice] haha yes! show me that new boon! lol (yes I understand it replaces, I'm just excited to see what it is xD )

@Quillicious

Every turn, you only get one movement, one action, and one bonus action. Attacking once/one slash of your short sword is one action so you've actually done two action by slicing again. If you had a knife in your other hand, you could make an offhand attack with your bonus action. Also, by moving back after your attack, you used movement twice. Basically, if you ran up to the wraith and slashed him once, that is a legal turn. If you ran up to the wraith, slashed him twice, and then retreated, that is an illegal turn. Here's a link that might help:D&D 5e quick reference

For every attack, you must make a roll to check if it hits. The roll is a 1d20 (1 20-faced die) plus whatever modifier your weapon takes. For the shortsword, since it is a finesse weapon it can take either the DEX or the STR modifier. You also add your proficiency bonus. I'm not sure what level 5 proficiency is but as of level 3, it is +2.

For damage, if your shortsword is a normal sword, roll a 1d6.

It depends on how much movement he used, if he still had movement left, he could, in theory, move back, though the wraith would get an attack of opportunity.

EDIT: Common misconception that you can only move once. What it means is that you may only use your full movement once in a round, meaning once that's all used up, you cannot use any more. If you use the Dash action you can use twice your movement, of course, and in that case you'd most likely do it all in one motion, but if you take the attack action, you may split up your movement. The PHB even says that if you have multiple attacks, you may even move between each attack, though I'm not sure if this applies to offhand, I think offhand is meant to go directly after, though I could be wrong.

I knew I was gonna mess up, and I even reminded myself to roll before! I'll edit it, alright? I probably should've specified the exact distance as well, so...I'll do that.

The only real problem with your post was my fault. I told you that rogues attack 2 times at 5th level. Turns out that is just with Fighter class and Barbarian class. Sorry for the misinformation. You should have a different benefit like sneak attack or something like that. I usually post from work where I don't have my Player Handbook.

As a rogue you can use your full movement to get to the creature. Then attack the creature. Then use your bonus action 'Cunning Action' ability to disengage to be sure you are not hit while getting away.

Or like Naxtaroth said. You can move part of your movement. Then attack. Then move the rest of your movement, but this will allow the enemy to attack you.

You're totally fine, Grim. Everybody makes mistakes.

How about move 10 ft to the Wraith, attack once, add sneak attack mod, disengage, and move 20 ft to group up with the others?

That works for me. If you are moving 10ft to get to the enemy then you would be approaching them from the large tree in the middle of the room.

This room is a massive circular room made of steel. In the center of the room is a single large tree baring fruit that sits on a patch of soil in a small pond of water. The enemy is between this tree and the group.

You could have your character hiding behind the tree or in the tree. Then they could move 10ft from this tree and make their sneak attack.

Sorry everyone, it has been a baby intense weekend. Just got some time to hope on the site while she and my wife are down for a nap.

@Naxtaroth The Wraith Boon

You may chose to move half your movement speed using the Wraith Step ability. During this movement you are intangible. You will not suffer opportunity attacks and any enemies you pass through will receive 1d4 damage.

@Quillicious I like your first post. I will post an IC reply when I get back from the store. You severely injured the wraith, but did not kill it.

Everything's cool, man. Babies are a big deal. Take all the time you need. I can wait, at least.

It's time to reap.

It's time to peep.

It's time to *bleep*.

It's time to weep.

It's time to creep.

It's time to leap.

It's time to keep.

It's time to sleep.

*Bows*

I havent played overwatch so had to watch a video. Not quit. That characters skill looks more like a teleport. This would be more like the albino twins from the Matrix freeway fight.

Because you waited until after Naxtaroth to post, this is the current posting order

@Naxtaroth

@Quillicious

Me - Princess and Wraiths

@Yesman

Me - Spiders and NPCs

That means that it is currently Yesman's turn.

Then I will reply as the spiders and NPCs. Then we will begin again at the top of this listing.

I was referring to his Wraith Form, not Shadow Step. Though Reaper can't attack while in Wraith Form and this Wraith Step does 1d4 damage to anyone I pass through, but yeah. :P

and post is up! I have a much easier time hitting things with my bow than with my fire bolt.

So the dice shows damage wrong. Or it's not meant to rather have two separate rolls thrown at once.
