[Custom] Charms, Artifacts, Manses... whatever... [Walking with the Darkness]

Can I assume I have an Exquisite Undead Aide (BT, pg. 40), with Occult 2, Craft [Necrotech] 3, Lore 2 and Craft [Fire] 3 with me?
Hmmm yes you can, but you won't be able to use it (for the first chapter) unless you find some mean to keep it away from you... you'll be traveling in the land of the living, and your face is already enough to scare people... no need to attract more attention :D

You have 4 points of Liege, so 2 go to the HS bracers, 1 to the Smashfist and 1 to the breastplate, I have to eliminate 1 point to give you a HS level 1.

Choose which one.

Dots in this Background provide benefits as if an
Abyssal had Backing, Mentor and Resources ratings each

equal to her Liege rating. The character can also request

the temporary use of Abyssal Command, Allies, Artifact,

Manse, Mentor or Spies. She just asks her Deathlord and

hopes that he finds her request reasonable for the mission.

The higher a character’s Liege rating is, however, the

closer her master watches her actions and the more time

she must spend on the Deathlord’s missions.
I took this to mean that Mentor, Resources, Backing were set to 4 while the others were only as high as the Liege deemed appropriate for the mission? I could just be misreading your logic behind what the liege finds reasonable as supposed crunch though.

I am not trying to be picky, just trying to clarify what I put my points into.

edit: clarifying elsewhere

Would you say that the Smashfists my Liege lent me are of the Cestus uber rare leathers and Soulsteel plates variety rather than the gauntlet style and that the spikey protrusions of the above charm would come through the gloves? Would you think that the use of a glove would count as a weapon use for that last part if you rule in favor of the charm and glove working together? If not that is still cool, the -3 internal wouldn't be so bad if the other benefits were still allowed.
The image is just a design. Yet, not knowing what this charm is (I suppose it comes from the DMS), I can't really say if it works well with the use of weapon.
It is called Five Knife fist, MoEP Abbysals p126

My view on this:

Liege grants you automatically certain advantages to a rating equivalent to your Liege rating: Backing, Mentor, Ressources.

Having Liege 4 means you have Backing 4, Mentor 4, Ressources 4... for free. If your Liege rating raises during the game, so will the other ratings.

What's more ?

Liege allow you to purchase temporarily a number of "Liege BP" in one or various of the following backgrounds: Abyssal Command, Allies, Artifact,

Manse, Mentor or Spies.

Means when you have Liege 4, you have 4 "Liege BP" to dispatch between the above mentioned backgrounds. I, as your ST, will judge your request and give you the appropriate award I think Walker would give you.

Therefore, when you ask weapons, armor, HS bracers, and a manse... I have only 4 points to distribute, 2 go to the bracers (I could have taken an amulet, but you requested bracers, figured there was a reason), that only leave me with 2 points to get you: armor, manse, weapon, which is unfortunately... not enough.

Non magical armor/weapon can be bought with your Ressources background granted by Liege.

Was I clear ?

Five Knife Fist do not work with weapons, as it grows natural weapons, only perfect weapon, or specially made for the character (ie... real Artifact background, instead of Liege) would allow them to work together.

This is again really a stupid charm design. I grow spikes on my back... coooool... it's so cool that I'm going for the permanent version... yeah, I'm spiky baby !

... errr how can I take of my armor off now ?

Well, when you have an Appearance of zero, you really don't want to take the armor off. At least, the people around you don't want you to take your armor off.

Gemstone of Murder
Manse ••

Trigger: Killing.

This multifaceted carmine gem is slick to the touch, and reeks with the coppery smell of freshly-spilled blood. When attuned, it allows its bearer to feed on the Essence released by violent death. Every time he kills any living creature of mouse size or larger with his bare hands, he regains a number of motes equal to its permanent Essence score. If he kills an intelligent being, he doubles the number of motes regained.

No motes are gained for "killing" spirits unless they are permanently destroyed.
Sauce

Considering the feeding process is not necessary anymore, and extras (who normally give 3 motes when fed on) are considered sentient beings... I'd say it's an abyssal manse with a rating of 3-4.

Okay... I can see it at Manse 3, and it leaves me with enough experience for Cult 1. Does that sound alright?

Well... I've looked what the Manse 3 did, it's clearly a Manse 4.

Forget about the Cult, you're serving Walker in the Darkness... he won't tolerate it.

Manse 4 is fine, but just as a note-
The Cult wasn't going to be a "IA! IA! WE GO TO WORSHIP OUR DARK LORD WITH THE LONG NAME!" kind of thing, it was going to be more of a "Oh gods, oh gods, oh gods he killed my supervisor with his paycheck" - he's used Eloquent Example Inspiration often enough to horribly scar a few clerks here and there to where they pray with their little quivering mortal hearts that they don't see him again. It's fairly embarrassing, but killing the worshipers and telling everyone to stop praying to him in fear has failed to work every time - it just makes the survivors pray harder.

He can't effectively suppress the cult, and it's embarrassing as all hell.

I would definitely grant you a Cult 1 background in game for such a display of power in front of clerks

Clarifying, I wasn't being greedy or anything, just wanted elaboration.

Should be done sometime tomorrow and will post both versions of my character sheet.

No problem at all, communication is the answer :)

ILLUSTRATIVE OVERKILL TECHNIQUE
Cost:  (3m, 1wp); Mins: Martial Arts 5, Essence 3;

Type: Permanent

Keywords: Emotion, Obvious

Duration: Instant

Prerequisite Charms: Grievous Agony Attack

Just killing an enemy is boring. Killing an enemy so

brutally that every witness finds her heart and limbs numbed

with terror… now that’s satisfying. An Abyssal may invoke

this Charm reflexively in Step Ten of attack resolution by

spending three motes and one Willpower whenever he kills

or mortally wounds an opponent with an unarmed attack.

As a base effect, the Charm enables the deathknight to kill

his victim in whatever horrific manner the player finds appropriate,

whether tearing the foe in half, punching into her

abdomen and pulling out handfuls of viscera or worse.
Looking at that, do you think it counts as a charm use? Emphasis mine.

See that is what I thought. First it seemed like it was a charm use, but then I looked at it and thought maybe they were trying to make it not a charm use but made a mistake.

Seeking approval on this and a Skin Mount Amulet

Gem of Crystalclear Spruceness
Manse: •

Trigger: Getting dirty

Light blue and crystalline in color, this Octaeder feels soft on touch, but is a little slippery, too. However, it has a aura of purity, which makes one feel comfortable around it.

People who wear the Gem of Crystalclear Spruceness simply can't get dirty in any way. If they fall in a puddle of mud, the dirt simply doesn't find any grip on the person carrying the gem around. Even sweat has no effect on the person; she is always perfectly clean. The gem's power also affects clothes or armor, but nothing else, that is not worn directly on the body.

Granted for both, Skin Mount Amulet is an artefact 1 though... trick question: where are you going to place it ?

Really? My Wonders of the Lost Age book tells me that it's Artifact 2, unless I'm hallucinating. I'll check it when I can find my book.

And I'm putting it at the small of my back, duh.

My WotLA is mysteriously absent from my immediate surroundings. Could someone tell me how many bonus motes you get for mounting a Hearthstone in a Skin Mount Amulet? I can't remember if it's (Hearthstone Rating) motes or (Hearthstone Rating x 2) motes.

Way back on page one I posted a Glorious Solar Saber fix. Can I use that one or need I use the one in the book? (Well, Abyssal version, but.)

That's Ok with me :)

I'll add the following, no bonus can be higher than Essence x 2 (except damage who can be raised up to Essence x 2 + Melee).

I don't like the idea of a second speed 5 blade with def + 15...
