Fantasy Cursed Island

"Only a pillow?" Knowing Siege, Jalin would have thought she'd thrown the entire bed.

Turac tossed Emilia's dress back at her, "Put clothes on!"

"Oh, fine. No one else was complaining..." Emilia mumbled as she got her dress back on.

Nidia went ahead and sat down with the group.

"Thank you," Turac sighed and moved a chair, "We need a plan, here."

"I'll revive Roy," Jalin sighed and went to try and bring Roy back to the land of the living. "Hey, time to wake up!", he said, as he tapped on Roy's forehead with his cane.

Roy groaned as he came to. “Ugh...” He sat up and glanced around before looking at Shuffle. “Warn me next time... What did I miss?”

"Sinach's an idiot, Emilia's a nudist, Turac caused a wardrobe malfunction, and Siege threw a bed." Jalin nodded, "That's it, really."

"I threw a pillow!", Siege barked.

Roy sighed. "Nothing new then..."

Emilia spoke up. "I'm not a nudist because I enjoy fashion. I'm just not ashamed of my body."

"If you say so," Jalin waved it off, "I can't see, so I don't care as long as you behave."

"We need to make a plan," Turac gestured to the beds and chairs in the room, "Take a seat."

"Alright," Turac looked between members of the group, "We're in Woodvale, right?"

"That's what the map says," Siege nodded.

"Well, it's also pretty central on this continent." Turac nodded at the map on the table, "So, I'm thinking we need to set up shop in Woodvale and run our missions from this country, that way we can get to everything in pretty much the same time."

Roy gave a nod. "That sounds like a good plan."

Emilia spoke up. "Why not here? It's not big or fancy, but we've got a whole village who are eternally indebted to us."

Jalin nodded, "I imagine, if we were to offer our services a bit further, we should be able to negotiate for some things." he looked to Katsuo, "I'm sure we each have different requirements from a base location?" Jalin and Katsuo would need a sealed off cellar where they could work away from prying eyes, Jalin being a black magician and Katsuo a product of it.

Nidia nodded. "I'd like to have an alchemy setup so I can make sure we're well-stocked on potions."

Roy glanced towards the door. "They did say they lost people. That could leave some homes empty. Though they might not take kindly to such a suggestion from us."

"Well," Turac shrugged, "That's empty land and empty homes, and if this is an area that may begin to suffer monster attacks..." He looked down and shook his head, "I was worried about this, but Elyon's king didn't listen, now we're living it!"

"Perhaps we can find what this village lacks, first," Jalin offered. "At the end of the day, really we only need one home with rooms." He nodded around the group, "Nidia and I have need of a lab space, ideally underground. I am sure Turac will need a boy of water. Roy, I am sure, will need a space where he can pursue leads."

"Well, we can't do anything about that," Jalin replied, "Unless someone wants to try and figure out portals."

"That would be time consuming. I can't guess how long it took Niudisa to make that spell for the mirrors."

Jalin counted on his fingers, "She did not practice or use it in the first six months I was under her care."

"Either way," Siege put her hands up, "We've got a village we can swing in our favor in a good spot on the map, and I'd rather have a bed to come back to than be stabbed in the ass by ghosts all night every night for the next however long we're chasing dragon balls."

"Dragonstone," Jalin corrected.

“Right. We’ll offer our help in the town’s recovery, then see about having a permanent residence. Or, semi-permanent.”

Jalin nodded, "i believe that will be suitable."

"Hmm," Turac nodded his affirmation, "All that leaves is to help with repairs and find what homes may be available for us to occupy..."

Roy stood up. "Let's get to it then. We've still got half the day left."

Shuffle jumped up, not entirely sure what they'd be doing. "Yeah!"

"Shuffle, you need to be supervised."

"Oh, right! I buried it nearby. Lemme go get it." Shuffle hurried out the door to go fetch her things.

Turac sighed, "Well, nothing to it, but to do it."

"Let's at least hope the sawmill still works," Siege sighed as she got up, taking off her bracelets and putting them away before walking with the others to go see how they could help the townsfolk.

Roy, Nidia, and Emilia headed out as well to lend their respective talents where they could. Outside, it was easy to tell which way Shuffle had gone by the number of villages all looking the same direction with concern.
