Fantasy Cursed Island

Jalin nodded and turned his cane's head, pulling the dagger from the handle, "May I take your arm?"

"Why don't you ask that damn book?", Turac replied, storming over, "Sinach!"

"You're gonna crease me!"

Shuffle nodded and lifted her arm, biting down on it herself to draw blood before holding it out to him. There was a thud as Roy fell back in his seat. He wasn't ready.

Emilia frowned. "Turac, calm down. He'll never come out if you keep yelling at him."

Jalin blinked under his blindfold. "That works too," he waved his hand over the bite mark and drew a measure of Shuffle's blood from it. "Oh...", he raised an eyebrow as he examined it, "You are a strange beast indeed!"

"I'd quit yelling at him if he'd stop harassing people!" Emilia, Turac thought, would be less forgiving than Nidia had been, especially since Nidia had been an accident whereas flipping Emilia's skirt to get to Sinach would be intentional. Seeming to sense this, Sinach wormed his way up, into the back of the dress.

Shuffle nodded as her wound healed up and vanished. "Niudisa used to take samples of my blood a lot, too."

"Well, yelling doesn't make it any be- ooh!" Emilia arched her back and glanced over her shoulder. "This is hardly the time to be getting fresh, Sinach."

Jalin smiled as he bottled the blood, using his magic to prevent the blood from drying. "I suspect I will do the same, if this proves half as interesting as it seems."

Turac crossed his arms as Sinach holed up, sitting still but still clinging against Emilia's back, under her shirt. "You were saying?"

Emilia huffed. "Yelling is still not the solution." Shameless as her mother, Emilia simply started pulling her dress off to remove Sinach's hiding place.

"Emilia!", Turac whirled around to face away from the arachne, "Have you no shame?"

"Don't hurt me!", Sinach barked.

"Not much, no." Emilia glanced at Sinach again. "I'm not going to hurt you. And I'm not going to let him hurt you either. Just come here to my hands. We have matters to discuss."

"Well then just talk from there. First off, why did Turac imply that what you told me earlier wasn't true? Or rather, he implied you played some part in it."

"Ahh, that's what happened. And I guess he was 'trying to kill' you because you lied to us about what we would have to fight."

"You said it was a single tree. It turned out to be five smaller creatures that could not be dealt with in the same manner as a tree. When we send you to scout ahead, we need to know exactly what we're about to deal with so we can prepare properly. If we don't prepare accordingly, it could cost us our lives."

"What? So you want me to stick around long enough to get the vellum kicked out of me by a bunch of plants so I can do an exact count and figure out what we're facing?"

"He's got a point," Jalin noted without looking up from poking and prodding Shuffle.

"No, we just need you to not exaggerate. Learn what you can without risking your own safety and tell that to us. Don't just make something up."

"I saw a big ass plant wrecking a village, what do you people want from me? If I stuck around long enough to figure out it wasn't a tree, I'd be dead!"

"It was a big freakin' plant! What else was I suppose to call it? A swollen green thing?" Sinach jerked his head to Siege on the bed, "She'd hear that and decide she wanted to poke it!"

"She heard tree and decided she wanted to chop it down." Emilia shook her head. "Next time, try to get a better idea of what it is."

"And get the vellum kicked out of me?!"

"Book, I'm going to rip it out of you if you don't behave!", Turac shot.

"You're small and you can fly. That means there's not much that can actually get you unless you let it."

"i'm not fast!"

"Oh, my gods!", Siege flung a pillow across the room, splatting Sinach against the wall behind Emilia. "Five minutes, damn!"

Emilia blinked as the pillow flew by before looking at Sinach.

Nidia walked in about that time. She found Emilia disrobed, Siege complaining, Roy unconscious, Sinach against the wall with a pillow, traces of blood, and Shuffle eating like nothing was happening. At least nothing unusual happened while she wasn't there.

Satisfied the group would quiet down for at least a few minutes, Siege laid back down, her armor disappearing into its bands of leather.

"Does anyone want to explain what just happened or am I free to make up whatever I want?", Jalin asked, confused as to what all that noise was.
