Fantasy Cursed Island

Nidia glanced over. "She's fine, just unconscious. The helmet kept her from getting any head damage."

"That's good," Turac nodded, "Emilia! can you come get Siege into the inn before she wakes up and tries to murder something?"

Emilia looked over before walking to the wagon. "Indeed I can." With a bit of help, Emilia managed to get Siege onto her back and headed for the village. "Can someone show me to the tavern?"

"Of course! This way." One of the villagers turned to lead the way. Roy opted to go with them, and Shuffle started following.

With Siege and Emilia moved out of the cart, Turac asked for directions and another villager helped him and Nidia find the barn to put their wagon away. "Where's Book?", Turac asked, looking around.

"You'll crease me!", came the squeak of the paper drake from within their supplies.

"I gathered that." Turac sighed. "Book, you can come to me or I can go digging for you."

"Nope!", Sinach called, "You'll never find me!"

"And Jalin won't be gentle," Turac added, "And Shuffle doesn't know what that word means." After a few moments of no response, Turac sighed, "Looks like we're ggetting Shuffle."

There was a blur before Sinach darted to and wormed his way down the back of Nidia's dress, taking refuge between the shirt and back of the woman he at least knew wasn't one of the ones that stuffed him in a box for three days.

Nidia squeaked and stepped back as she glanced down. "Hey, at least ask first." She started trying to get him out from wherever she felt him hiding.

Turac groaned, "Why is everyone in this group a perv or an idiot?" He shook his head as a villager put the mare up. "Sinach, get out of the dress!"

"No, you'll crease me!"

"I'm gonna do a lot more than that if you don't quit harassing people!"

Nidia couldn't quite reach where Sinach was, so she turned her back towards Turac. "Pull him out, please?"

Turac sighed, "Alright, hold still," he carefully put his hand down the back of Nidia's shirt to get to the paper dragon, but he migrated around in there, the paper dragon's little paper claws tickling like the legs of a spider before you realized there was a spider on your arm, and not thinking ahead, Turac followed, trying to move around Nidia and chase the book at the same time until he made a critical error of judgement and found his hand on Nidia's chest, under her shirt. "Ah, crap."

Sinach took the opportunity to jump out of the collar and shoot for the inn to go seek shelter with Emilia.

Nidia arched her back a bit as she felt his hand, and couldn’t help blushing as he searched. She was certainly glad she had that heat medication. There’s no telling what she might have done had she been feeling it. ...especially when he grabbed there. Nidia blinked as she felt his hand before she simply glanced back at him. “Turac?” There was no anger in her voice or her expression. Truth be told, some part of hoped that wasn’t an accident.

"It wasn't on purpose, I was reaching for the book," Turac said cautiously, carefully pulling his hand out and backing away. He'd seen Siege and his mother have enough malfunctions to have it instilled that he'd probably get smacked back across the ocean.

Sinach made his way to the inn, searching for Emilia and climbing onto her shoulders when he found her.

Nidia blinked as he pulled back, rubbing her chest a moment before turning to him. "It's alright. I know you wouldn't do anything like that on purpose." She smiled at him.

Emilia glanced over as Sinach rejoined her. "Ah, there you are." She looked back to her work on Siege's undergarments.

Turac wasn't sure what was scarier, the smile or that she didn't look upset. "You're not mad?"

"Turac's feeling Nidia up in the barn," Sinach spoke up, hoping spinning another story might help him stay out of trouble when those two came back.

Nidia shook her head. “Nope. I mean, if it was anyone else, I would be, but...” She glanced away, holding her arms behind her back.

Emilia stopped her work and glanced at him. “Really? I didn’t think he’d noticed her advances.”

Nidia blinked and looked at him again. “Wha- No, really, I’m not mad. I promise.”

“Oh my. I want to go and watch, but I really should finish this.”

Turac, unconvinced, turned and backed away out of the barn, only turning to face where he was going then so he could find his way to the inn.

Nidia watched him go before putting her ears down a bit.

Back at the tavern, Roy was keeping Shuffle out of trouble with food.

"What manner of creature is she made from?", Jalin asked, watching through sound and smell and trying to figure out what the hells Shuffle was.

"All of them," Sinach shook his head.

Roy nodded. "According to the stories my parents told of when they met her, she's a flesh golem, built from different body parts and reanimated with a soul gem. But consuming blood makes her mutate and grow new body parts or gain new abilities."

Shuffle nodded between eating. "At first I didn't have my wings. Or my fins. Or the vines and flowers in my hair. Or my salamander marks, or any of my breath powers."

Jalin looked very interested at the mention of blood powers, "Oh? May I have a sample of your blood, Shuffle?"

"Where's the book?", Turac asked as he entered the room. Sinach darted to hide under the portion of Emilia's skirt that fell onto her carapace.
