Fantasy Cursed Island

Niudisa shook shook her head. “Just looking at Shuffle and all she can do, I can tell her maker was a skilled necromancer. Close to my own level, no doubt, and that’s not something I would readily admit.”

"Definitely a master of her craft," Jerry agreed. "At least she wasn't one of those pointlessly 'dark' ones wearing spines as belts."

“Ugh, that’s just tacky. And a waste of a spine. Honestly, the skull is really the only thing good for decor, and only in moderation.”

"Good prop, too," Jerry nodded, "Got myself into asylums talking to a bloody skull. Come out rich. They take everything from patients, even teeth if they're gold or silver." She shook her head, "This place is getting to me, I'm talking to a fairy about good uses for dead people."

Niudisa snickered. “You shouldn’t be worried ‘till you’re talking to a corpse. Especially if it talks back.”

Jerry just gestured to the partially assembled flesh golem in front of her. "Many corpses will be talking."

"So's the other me," Jerry shrugged, "But the one I actually want to talk to I can't communicate with. Stupid dragon fragment."

“Dead men tell no tales and all that. But this dead man knows what we need to know, so we’ll get him talking. How are those bones coming?”

"He's not gonna fall apart immediately," Jerry shrugged, "Some of these sockets aren't directly attached, we'll have to get Veo to stitch it together before you put the muscles and nerves together." Picking up her flask to wash the blood off her hands, Jerry added more mess to the refuse bucket that was to be tossed down the toilet hole once everything was taken care of. "I'll go get her." Jerry left the tent and went next door to Veo and Emil's, "Whoa." The two had changed things a bit, having moved the beds to the same side of the room next to each other and the table on the other. "You two have been busy."

Emil looked over. “Just a bit of redecorating.”

As Jerry left, Niudisa fluttered down to the creature-in-progress and started moving its mouth with her hands, as if it were talking.

"You're not a very good liar," Jerry chided, rolling her eyes. "Veo, if you're not busy, Niudisa and I have something we need your putting-people-back-together skills for."

"What do you need?"

"We're putting Urodor back together, I can't stitch and Niudisa's too small."

"Oh, he's not gonna be able to hurt any of us unless he gets incredibly unlucky," Jerry shook her head, "You know how small Asta is when I shrink him down, bit bigger than that."

"Well, take me to the pieces," Veo grabbed her bag to follow Jerry out and back to the abomination she was creating.

"Something's wrong with you," Jerry shook her head at Niudisa playing with the construct's head.

Emil waved them off, opting to stay behind.

Niudisa looked over, still moving the mouth in time with her talking. “Really? What was your first clue?” She snickered before fluttering off to let them work.

"I..." Veo looked the thing over, "What do you want me to do, here?"

"Stitch the skin together so it holds while Niudisa fuses muscle." Jerry glanced at Niudisa for confirmation of that as Veo threaded a stitch needle.

"I see," Veo sat down to start stitching the pieces to the pieces they were attached to.

Niudisa nodded as she looked at Jerry. “I’ll need some blood to start the fusing. Yours should work quiet well, if it taken on draconic properties like the rest of you.”

“I’ll be able to tell when I start manipulating it. But I would guess it is, since so much of you is following the same theme.”

"Of course," Jerry muttered, sitting down on the bed and extending her arm for the fairy. "Go ahead."

Niudisa fluttered over as she drew her knife. Poli pulled back from Jerry’s arm, allowing the fairy to make a small cut and draw a bit of blood. She channeled what she needed, heading back to the body as the blood swirled around her.

Jerry shuddered as she felt Niudisa pull the blood out. Why did that feel so weird? "How's the stitching coming, Veo?"

"I've only been working for two minutes, this thing is tiny," Veo shook her head, "I can do this quickly and tear it apart in the process, or I can do it right and it take a bit."

Niudisa fluttered about, staying out of Veo’s way as she fused the meat when necessary, absorbing a bit of blood each time.

Putting the golem together took some time, and when it was finished the whole thing looked a bit off, what with the huge cavity in its back where the soul gem was to go. "Alrighty, according to the Maker's notes, when I put this in and do this," Jerry put the fist-sized soul gem into the cavity and marked around it with her stylus, "It's about to get real, you're gonna want to back up." The golem latched onto the gem, trying to fit it completely into the cavity to protect it, but that was part of the plan, Jerry had the pieces arranged such that it specifically could not completely hide the gem, so she could draw on it for mana and there was an easy way to kill it if they had to.

"Welcome back, Urodor," Jerry crossed her arms as the golem looked around extremely confused. It chittered something, but that didn't quite work out. "Don't bother, you don't have a voicebox capable of speech at the moment." Jerry's turn to intentionally bleed and forcefeed some down the thing's mouth. "Shuffle can do this because her maker used a kind of amoeba the size of a rat to give her adaptability. You, well, you won't have it for longer than it takes to get your speech back on."

"You are vile, woman!", Urodor barked after choking and gagging like Shuffle did whenever she was gaining a new mutation in her throat. His voice was much squeakier than before. "What have you done to me?"
