Fantasy Cursed Island

Jerry grumbled at that, not too keen at being stared at.

Adran nodded, "This is going to be a complicated web of enchantments."

Niudisa nodded. “Yep. And if it works right, we’re going to use it, regardless of if it’s actually more efficient. Because that’s a lot of work to end up not using it.”

The group seemed to agree. "At the very least it will be able to work while we do other things," Joanne added.

'We could make it fold into a box, with some planning," Adran offered, "Shouldn't be any heavy than Erina's loom."

“Alright. It would be extra great if we could figure out how that card furniture works. And we could replicate it.”

"I don't think we can, not without the right press, anyway," Jerry shook her head, "The company that makes them, they have a special construct that stamps the runes in and folds them down. I've taken their strongbox a few times, they make good money." After a moment, "Probably should have stuck with thievery, I wouldn't be here."

“You also wouldn’t be able to fly.” Niudisa took another bite of food, looking at her like she just made a really good point.

"There's that." Jerry glanced away. The fairy did have a point, she'd have to experiment with what she could do with her new wings at some point.

Shuffle looked over. “And I’d probably still be strapped to a table. Unless Joanne would’ve let me go.”

"I would have dismembered you and offered a prayer to those whose parts you are composed of," Joanne replied.

Nalla had been relatively quiet up to this point, but she felt that was important. "It would seem that your chieftain is the reason you are all still together."

"Again, I am not the chieftain," Jerry corrected. "I'm not the boss, I'm not the leader, I'm just the strategist."

“And so we follow your lead.” Shuffle smiled. “Because that’s usually the best thing to do.”

Jerry's eyelid twitched, but she didn't say anything. Dinner wrapped up as everyone finished eating, Jerry passed over the deck og workshop tools, "You're gonna need this to put the thing together."

Niudisa nodded. “Yeah, that’s Adran’s part. I got the magic stuff. Speaking of magic stuff, who gets the first two rings?”

"If one of them's acid resistant, Shuffle, otherwise, whoever's benefit the most." Jerry shrugged, "Joanne's got her armor and you know how Emfa is."

Jerry shrugged, "You know where to find them." She glanced around, "Can I get your help with something, when you're not busy?"

Niudisa nodded. “Yeah, let me just give out these rings.” She fluttered off the table before heading for her tent.

Jerry nodded and leaned against the table while she waited for Niudisa. She was having trouble putting pieces of Urodor 2.0 together. She knew, more or less, what she was after, the trouble was assembling the pieces, and Jerry didn't have whatever ability Shuffle's maker had used to fuse Shuffle's parts together. She didn't trust her hands to be able to stitch them together either. Picking a lock or fiddling with an item was one thing, but working a needle and thread made Jerry's eyes hurt.

Niudisa fetched the rings, taking one to Shuffle and the other to Emfa and making sure they both knew what the ring did. Shuffle gave a nod put the ring on, taking a moment to look at it. Shiny on finger made Shuffle happy.

With that done, Niudisa headed back to Jerry.

Emfa looked the ring over and dropped it onto her remaining horn. No place for a ring on her gauntlets, but it fit snugly at a certain point on her horn. That kind of jewelry wasn't uncommon in the village she was from, anyway.

Leading Niudisa back to her tent, Jerry gestured to the vaguely-aligned parts of a creature on the table. It looked like an imitation of a pseudodrake, but larger, and in pieces. "I've got the organs in place and the cavity for the gem ready, I just can't put the pieces together," she explained.

Niudisa nodded as she fluttered over to check her choice of parts. “Mmhm... Well, for the limbs, you’ll want to socket the bones first. That’ll help keep in place while the rest is attached. The muscle will need magic fusion, and the skin will have to be stitched. I’m too small for the socketing and I don’t know how to sew, but I can fuse the muscle with a bit of blood magic.”

"Hmm," to socket the bones she'd have to move some muscles around and stick sockets in. "We could probably get Veo for the stitching skin together." She sat down at the chair and took a knife to the rejected animal pieces for the parts of the sockets so limbs could be put in place. "Shuffle's maker had to figure this out from scratch, you know." Crazy woman, how'd she pull that off?
