Conundrum: The Question Without An Answer (Season One)

Once the Soul Stealer had left from sight the pirate was able to relax a little more allowing the delayed shock that he had most likely been minutes from death to slowly begin creeping up on him, but he was able to the suppress the emotions enough to regain his composure fairly quickly.

He felt bad that he had contributed to the destruction of the lobby but once he weighed the physical damages of the building with the possible emotional damages the the Soul Stealer could have caused the new graduates he did not feel so bad. Walls could be rebuilt. He spared a glance at Wes as the assistant surveyed the lobby and Darious offered his exact thoughts on the matter "Walls can be rebuilt healer. Glass can be replaced. A life however can not. Given your field of expertise, you of all people should understand that I would think. At least we were able to protect the graduates."

"I can confirm that the Hiringu and her assistant have shown up just in time to diffuse a terrible situation with one thick headed and very pissed off pirate. The Soul Stealer has also left the premises." Came Rico's confirmation through the Messenger's communications lines. His voice had a slight slur and wobble to it because he was just getting the feeling back enough to talk since Hiringu Mazu had reversed the effects of the Soul Stealer's konsido.

"We are moving to your locations now"

Darious ignored everyone for a moment as he probed for the other Soul Essences around the facility. There were some that were strong and others that were weak and almost non existent. The weaker ones would be those of the graduates. They were scattered around the area some on the lobby level and others were above them. he pointed to the elevators "Some are on the second floor" without another word, the pirate left the lobby.

"What's your location Nicky" Rico asked over the communications link before adding "All Messengers respond with their current locations so that the Hiringu can respond quickly." he cursed out loud as Darious left the building, before retrieving a back up communication device from his pocket and handing it to Hiringu Mazu so she could hear the other messengers responses and keep in communication with them "I'm sorry, I have to go after him" he added apologetically.

"Damn it Darious, where the hell are you going? the Soul Stealer might still be around" he called as he ran after the pirate.

The pirate spun on his heals "He already got what he wanted Rico, why do you think he left so quietly? Do you think that Hiringu and her assistant scared him off? I have a ship to prepare and also"he paused for a moment and looked around speaking a little more quietly as he waited for the messenger to catch up

"I have a prototype that I need to get back on to the ship." He let out a sigh and held up a hand to stop Rico before he even spoke "I have to return my fallen comrade's ship to her family back home before I can do anything else. I wasn't chosen to be a hunter Rico. Why they didn't choose me I have yet to find out. So as much as I would like to hang around, until I'm told otherwise, I need to be on the seas heading home. I've got work to finish. A contract with the council."

"But you have so much potential as a hunter" Rico interjected

"Yes but I also have potential as an engineer. Look maybe by the time I get this ship home word will spread and I might be sent back into the field but the fact remains that I have a commitment to uphold and that is getting this ship back to its family."

With that he flashed step away leaving the messenger where he stood.

"Damn it" He switched his device to the Knights secure frequency.

"Messenger Rico reporting in, I've lost contact with Darious Vaunbane for the time being. He mentioned something about a prototype and returning to the fallen pirate's ship then vanished. The Hiringu has made it to the infirmary and is tending to the graduates. The Soul Stealer has retreated and the Omada will be following soon. Please advise"

Darious reappeared near to the prototype with his soul essence masked, and surveyed the ruined city blocks below once more with a sigh. He could not help wondering if things would have been different should he have been the one fighting along side the other graduates. Perhaps fate would have had it the same way and he would have been the one getting creamated. Who really knew?

Nicky headed towards the lobby with Anuli, Kehinde and Kimirou when Alf suddenly appeared out of nowhere. When he confirmed that a Hiringu was indeed in the building now, she sighed in relief, closing her eyes and thinking "thank god, talk about 'Just in the nick of time'...' A slight grin formed on her lips at Alf's comment about said Hiringu being drunk on the job. "Yep, that sounds like Tempest for sure... I still don't know how that woman saves so many lives wasted out of her mind." Shaking her head a little, she received double-confirmation from Rico. "Roger, Messenger Nicky reporting in. I'm nearing the lobby with Graduates Kehinde and Kimirou, as well as Messenger Anuli. Graduate Vienna should be in recovery room four two zero and now that I know the situation is under control, I will return to her and stand by until she is able to receive healing."

With that formality out of the way, Nicky began to head back to Vienna's room without another word. Knocking on the door and stepping inside, she noticed Vienna sitting on her bed reading a book, before sitting down herself in the chair next to the door. Vienna looked over her book towards Nicky after a while, slowly closing it whilst slipping a bookmark neatly between the book's pages, setting it just as meticulously on the bedside table, then speaking. "I assume the Omada have left? What were they doing here?" Nicky nodded, rubbing her temples in frustration at the whole ordeal. At least it was mostly over now. "They wanted to question you and the other injured graduates, about yesterday's incident no doubt." She sighed and began to sit back in the chair, crossing her legs. "Problem is, if they knew the reason why the Terastios showed up in the first place, it'd be bad news for the Knights and everyone else under them, including us. Don't tell anyone I said this, but I suspect they're the ones who tampered with the jar of Rudai. If anyone on the inside would do something like that, for any reason, it'd be Ilari." Vienna blinked confusedly a few times. "Ilari? Should I know this name?' Nicky stopped in her tracks for a second, and sighed. "No... no you shouldn't. I meant The Soulstealer." Vienna nodded, staying silent and going back to reading. Nicky blinked confusedly at her rather odd response, but was rather relieved she decided not to pry. Now all there was left to do was wait, and this nightmare of an assignment would finally be over.

A bit later came a sharp rapping at the door, followed by the entrance of a woman in Hiringu uniform, whom Nicky recognized as tempest. "Damn, back on the job already? I still don't know how you do it," Came the messenger's teasing greeting, as she stood up to give the Hiringu a hug. "Takes practice." Tempest nonchalantly replied, eliciting a giggle from Nicky. The two had been going to the same bar together for years since Nicky was demoted to messenger and happened to run into Tempest whilst trying to drown her regrets in alcohol. It always ended up with Nicky feeling like she was going to die the next morning, but they bonded rather closely through it nonetheless. Vienna watched silently with curius eyes, and eventually Nicky headed out of the room to report back to the council.

Tempest sighed, flipping through the papers she had on a clipboard while mumbling to herself. "Let's see,... hmmmmm... Alright, should be simple enough. Vienna, right?" Vienna nodded, to which tempest nodded herself. "good. Now, stay still and do what i say and you'll be walking out of here in no time sound good?" Another nod. "Not much of a talker, huh? I'm glad. I had heard you were one of the most well-behaved of the bunch, and I can see why." She put the clipboard down and began to kneel in front of Vienna, checking her heartbeat and Soul Essence Vitals. Vienna crinkled her nose as Tempest's alcohol-tainted breath but seemed not to be much bothered by it anyway. "Alright, I should be able to restore your soul energy and mend the rib, the other wounds have already healed well enough from the looks of it." Tempest began, "Let's get those clothes off." Tempest pulled the top of the hospital gown up over Vienna's head, and Vienna stood without even a slight change in her demeanor, slipping out of the bottoms. "Huh, usually you kids are at least a little embarrassed by this," Tempest mused, to which Vienna simply shrugged. Tempest then decided to get right down to business, she had other Graduates to heal anyhow. She Began removing the bandage just under the left side of Vienna's bra, revealing stitches from the surgery in which her ribcage was mended. Tempest then began chanting "Ryu Uta", steching both hands towards the wound and causing Vienna to let out a short, sharp gasp and a slight wince in pain. 'Just relax, the pain will subside," tempest chided, before concentrating as her hands began to radiate with soul energy. Vienna began to fell less and less pain, gradually being replaced with a strange, yet very pleasurable sensation, until finally the pain was gone, almost as if it where never there. This took a few minutes, and afterwards as tempest stood up, Vienna also felt revitalized and refreshed. This meant her soul energy had been restored as well. She looked up towards Tempest. "This means i can leave, correct?" Tempest laughed a little. "That eager, are we? I'm afraid you have to wait a few hours first, to ensure your soul essence is fully restored. You may feel better now, but too much physical activity until both body and soul are fully healed is especially dangerous for hunters. Speaking of, I've got a lot more work ahead of me so I'll be going now. Apparently most of the other graduates took some really stuid risks in thier conditions... I'm really gonna need a drink after all this." Tempest then promptly left, and Vienna let out a sigh. I just want to be out of here... being stuck in a whitewashed quiet room like this... not being allowed to leave... brings back too many memories I wish I could forget." Images of herself, hands bound, sitting solemnly in a padded cell flashed through her mind. She found herself clenching her fists, looking downward, waiting impatiently to be out of this place.

Lucas smiled at the man as he bent down next to him making his Idle threats. He looked up at Recluse with her whip still taught on him like a leash. "I like this guy." Recluse looked down at the man and gave him a look of discut when he winked at her. She pushed down on Venom's chest a bit more after his little comment and then stiffened when she heard the mans threat against the medic's. "Stop! The medics are just doing their jobs. It seems that's what A LOT of people are doing today." She took a deep breathe and then looked back at the Omada with her intense gaze.

"You think anyone would have told us anything about that monster or where it came from? Let alone a bunch of Graduates? The Graduates where the first to respond to the situation and many of them where badly injured. As for where the damn thing came from or why we are here, I can only answer the latter. We were given orders to get them here and keep an eye on them. Then you and the damned Soul Stealer show up and get all our feathers in a ruffle and up in our face and that's why we are so hostile."
The more Recluse talked the more and more flustered she got. Subsequently this also caused her to pull harder and harder on the whip causing it to pull tighter and tighter around Venom's throat.

He tried slapping her leg but she was so engrossed in her rant that he simply slid a finger in between his neck and the whip and sliced the whip. Gasping for air he grabbed Recluse's ankle and raised her heel out of his chest and pushed it to the side. He rubbed his neck as he stood back up and gave Recluse an agitated look. Recluse looked down at her whip and sighed.
"Damn it Mr. Lefluer, that was one of my best whips." Venom rubbed his neck a bit more before answering her a little more horse "That's what happens when we do not not establish a safe word Mon Cher."

The Omada

Tobias smiled listening to the messenger tell him to stop. This amused him because he actually could relate to what she was saying. Was he beginning to enjoy this? As Recluse was beginning to go into her second explanation, he could hear one of the medics go on about some Calvary. He already knew the Hiringu arrived but since one of the messengers were being compliant there was no need to depart at that moment. He kept trying to hear her, but the medic kept talk and he was beginning to get aggravated. Whenever he gets agitated, he becomes a total different person. He politely smiled at Recluse, "Could you hold that thought?" He remarked spinning around on his heel.

He brought his hand in about midsection then on the last spin flung it out in the direction of the medic, "Can't you see I'm having a conversation?!" He barked using the same breath. When he said that, he hurled a wave of flames toward the medic. His soul essence beginning to raise.

The attack was so quick that the medic didn't have time to react. He only did the first thing that came to mind. Duck. He tried to as quickly as he could but time had ran out. "Cliiiiiing" The wave sounded as it split passed him. The medic began to feel on himself to see if he had been hit. The medic was an older gentleman he looked like he was in his late 50s or early 60s. Stood about 5'7 and had aging pale skin color. When he realized, he wasn't hit, he looked up to see what happened and to his surprise two of his fellow medics were in front of him shielding him from the attack. The two looked over their shoulder at the medic, "We've got you covered sir! We will try our best to protect you." The medic smiled just after hearing them speak. He was overjoyed that someone would jumped to his aid considering the circumstances. He slowly rose to his feet, "So...." The medic placed his right hand on his knee, "You insist on starting a fight huh?" He slowly erected himself, "Very well...if that's gonna get you out of here then so be it." He finished pulling on the two in front of him and looking behind at the others. Tobias squinted his eyes, "I apologize," He calmly sighed, "Its just a pet peeve of mine when someone talks over something I'm trying to hear. I don't wish to fight you sir." He finished turning around back toward Recluse. *Press Play* Once the medic had formulated a strategy, he then put it in action. "Not wise to turn your back on your opponent Omada. Of all people I would think you know that." The old man's brittle sounding voice echoed.

Tobias eye twitched upon hearing him. He was starting to grow angry. When he went to turn around, a medic was already there blade to his throat, "Surprise..." He mumbled. Tobias looked down and pretended to be shocked, "Oh that means you have a partner huh?" Tobias vanished then reappeared on the other side of the medic. The medic swiftly spun around and lounged at Tobias. Tobias caught the blow and burned the man's fist, "Try again." He then took the man and flung him back to the others. After that, he rared back a little and began to spew out gasoline. The older medic's eyes grew upon seeing this.

Smashing through Leandra's room window was Dye, another Omada. He gracefully landed with his uniform slowly following. He rose to his feet, looked over his shoulders at the messenger and graduate, smiled, then dashed into the hallway moments before Tobias spoke, "Now Burn. Mouth of the Serpent!" Flames spewed from his mouth engulfing the trail of gasoline following his words. Dye shook his head and used Kinsi to get in front of the flames. With the medics now to his back, Dye rapidly uncapped the hilt of his sword and pushed down causing it to poor a shiny metallic liquid. Dye then took the liquid and mixed it with his soul essence directing it to his front. The liquid quickly solidified into a metal shield absorbing the heat.

When the flames subsided he looked around the shield deflating it, "Tobias...you must have missed the transmission it's time to go. You know how you get when your irritated." He then looked back at the medics. "Dye.." The older medic spoke. "Old man." Dye responded. "I had this under control you know. Your old man...." He was interrupted by Dye, "My old man needs to be grateful that I saved him from being incinerated. Don't talk to me right now. You aren't even supposed to know who I am." He frowned. The old man looked up at him, "You act like you have to come save me all the time." Dye slowly turned his head, "You're a medic old man. You're retired. I protect you. No matter the circumstances. You understand?" He coldly replied. The old man chuckled and looked at his comrades, "That's my boy."

Looking at the damage from the attack Dye shook his head. The floor they were on was almost unrecognizable. Surprisingly, the fire alarms didn't go off. "Alright Tobias that's enough of this were leaving." Tobias smiled sinisterly and looked over at Recluse, "Come on. I'm getting valuable information Dye. Wouldn't want to get in the way of that now would you?" Dye poured some of the liquid on the ground discreetly and allowed it to travel toward him, "Come on the Hiringu is here and Ilari is gone our superi...." Tobias cut him off, "Dye you're pissing me off." Tobias' soul essence began to rise by the second. Dye knew that Tobias was cracking. "Tobias did you med up prior to this mission?" Tobias cackled, "Oh shoot." He snapped his fingers, "Must have forgot." Dye grit his teeth. He knew when Tobias wasn't on his meds his cracks are nothing pretty. He looked over his shoulder to his old man, luckily for him the old man already knew what he was looking for. He and the medics slid back slowly. Dye then started to distract him while still directing the liquefied metal. He tried to signal the Messenger for assistance. Hopefully she would assistance being their mutual circumstances of Dye trying to get Tobias out of the infirmary and Hers wanting the Omada to leave. @Lioness075 @zCrookedz

Anuli waited for Nicky before they made their way down the hall. When she got her graduate in her room she closed her door. Anuli was about to start down the hall but was stopped by Nicky requesting for him to keep quiet about her knowing the Omada. Anuli showed no expression and just nodded in agreement to her request. He knew all along something was up with her. From the time she first came to the Elder Council Messenger Division she was a bit different, but he could never really pinpoint it. Hearing her confirm his suspicions, cause his mind to wonder about some of the unanswered questions that had been asked, the strange circumstances she came under, and the fact she knew high-level konsidos for her rank. Anuli decided to keep his thoughts to himself and continued on to the lobby. @DergTheDergon

On the walk over they ran into Alf. He looked over at Kimirou with a bit of an annoying look. He clearly wasn’t happy about this whole ordeal. He looked a little worn out from what Anuli could tell. By the looks of his clothing, things must have gotten bad down in the lobby. In his ear, he could hear Rico reporting his failure to keep up with his assignment. In a time like this, they honestly could afford to lose anyone. “Well find him, Rico.” He responded. Anuli looked over his shoulder at the now pissed off Kehinde and was about to offer his absence, but Nicky beat him to it. She left their company and without a trace was gone. Anuli couldn't figure out whether to be upset or not caring about her secret. The thing that was bothering him was the fact they trained together, ate together, went on missions together, and in the past worked alongside the Omada. Why not say anything then? Gripping his fist, he looked over at Alf, “Hey, let me get him to his room for the Hiringu. I’ll catch up with you later ok?” He spoke departing from Alf. @babyjoker36610 @DergTheDergon @Affili

As he walked down the hall, Anuli felt a strange sensation come over his body. It was an unsettling one that made stop a second right in front of the elevator. His gut then began to deter him from taking the elevator so he decided to take the stairs. “That weird. That wasn’t a good feeling at all.” After walking for what seemed like days, Anuli made it to the fourth floor. He placed his hand on the wall to catch his breath a moment. He looked at Kehinde and shook his head, “Crap it like I’m carrying a pack of cement.” Kehinde lifted his head then responded, “Nobody told you to carry me.” Anuli bobbed his head knowing that Kehinde had a point, but he knew if he put him down Kehinde might would try something. @OwlOne

Anuli reached out and pulled on the door handle opening it for him to walk in. When he stepped through the door he looked both ways to see if anyone was on the floor. It was pretty vacant considering what was going on. “Your healer just went into someone’s room,” A very intelligent gruff sounding voice sounded. Anuli stopped a second recognizing the sound of the voice, “I assume yours have arrived as well?” He responded to the man who was now standing next to him. The man nodded, “You have assumed correctly. Take my son to his room where they await him.” He replied looking at him. Anuli looked at the man and to his surprise Kehinde was standing next to the man. Anuli looked back over his shoulder and realized Kehinde was no longer there. He slowly turned his head back toward the man, “How the hell?” The man places his hands behind his back and started for Kehinde’s room. “Time is off the essence. Come along.” Kehinde looked at Anuli, “That’s my father.” Then continued down the hallway. Anuli shook his head rapidly and followed suit.

Upon arriving at the room just past Vienna’s he could feel the foreign vibe coming from Kehinde’s room. He looked at Kehinde and noticed he seemed comfortable and actually willing to go in. He put his hand out, “Wait…we should see if the Hiringu approves of this?” Kehinde slowly removed Anuli’s hand and responded, “She couldn’t do anything for me anyhow.” He walked in the room. Anuli sighed and was about to enter himself when one of the people in the room stopped him, The person that walked out was pretty good sized he had wierd markings on his face, weird garments on, and a look that could kill. “This is as far as you go. This ritual is sacred to the Egyptians and is only to be seen by the eyes of an Egyptian.” Anuli smiled and shook his head, “Well too bad I’m going…” The person didn’t seem to look amused, “Lord Ishmerai has requested for you to stay outside until the process is complete.” Anuli’s grin began to slowly slid off his face, “Look…” The person interrupted him, “If you so much as have an issue with this decision, I will see to it that your superiors know about you disrespect of you assignment’s heritage.” Anuli met the person’s gaze and immediately knew he meant business. He didn’t want that kind of heat so he stepped back and with a smiled replied, “Will see what the Hiringu has to say about this.

Not too long after the Hiringu was exiting the room. Anuli quickly signaled for her to come over, “Hey Tempest!” He waved, “Got one in here for you.” He smiled slowly looking at the so called body guard. After a few minute, the Hiringu arrived at Kehinde’s room. Without looking, she walked right into the person guarding the door. “Oh I’m sorry didn’t see you standing there. Excuse me I have to get in there,” She reached. The person lightly blocked her hand. Anuli folded his arms awaiting to see what’s was to follow, “Idiot.” He thought about the bodyguard. The person then spoke, “No ma’am not at this time. We will inform you when he is ready to be seen.” Tempest placed her hand on her head from a growing headache she was getting. She began to rub it in a circular motion before she rejoined. Anuli sat watching, “Oh he’s done it now.” He smiled. “Tch…I don’t have time for you to play games,” She met the person’s gaze, “Either move out the way or I’ll force you.” The person looked passed her catching a whiff of her breath, “It seems you have been cursed with the burden of Alcohol. Should you need any additional issues, I’ll be glad to cast a curse to suit your being.” Anuli’s eyes widened and his smile grew, he was actually beginning to enjoy this. "A curse who does this guy think he is?" The Hiringu visibly growing aggravated retorted, “A cur…are you kidding? Get out of my way!” She yelled.

Before she could try anything Kehinde’s father stepped out of the door from behind the person. He bowed to her, “You must be the healer.” Tempest not amused met the deep violet colored eyed man’s gaze, “Who the hell are you?” The man lightly chuckled, “My apologies ma’am I am Ishmerai Akachi. I am the Father of Kehinde Akachi. I assure you there is no need to raise an alarm. My Medjai was just doing as was told.” Tempest tried to interject, but just looking into the man’s eyes kept causing her to lose her train of thought, “You see my son has a unique injury. One that isn’t able to be healed by your rituals. As I explained to your comrade earlier, my son’s ability is like that of my Grandfather. When he overuses his ability his mind begins to work against his body and cast an illusion making his body perceive it’s okay when it actually not. All the while eating away at his mental state bit by bit.” Tempest seemingly getting lost in the man’s eyes replied, “I’m a trained heal….” Ishmerai politely interrupted her talking in a way to hypnotize her, “I’m not saying you’re incapable of doing your job. I’m saying….your services aren’t needed here. You understand right?” Anuli began to recognize that same tone of voice. Like before, he was falling victim to the same thing. It was just so convincing that you didn’t need to doubt what he said. Tempest unknowingly agreed against her own will. Kehinde’s father smiled, “I’m glad you see it my way. Please return when you have finished up the others.

Without objection, Tempest departed their company and went down the hall toward Kimirou’s room. Anuli followed her with his eyes in shock. He looked back at Kehinde’s father who met his gaze with a wink and a smile. Anuli then saw him pat his bodyguard on the shoulder and return into Kehinde’s room. “Damn. Just who the hell are these people?” He questioned himself. @babyjoker36610 @OwlOne

Rico paused clinging to the side of a wall as the transmission came from Anuli suggesting he find Darious as if he hadn't been looking all this time. He double checked the radio frequency he was on thinking he had switched over to the Knight's secure channel when he informed them of losing contact with his hunter and cursed once he realized he was on the messenger's channel still.

'I am looking for him Anuli! Did you think I was sitting down someplace drinking coffee?' he questioned irritably into his earpiece before adding 'This guy's smarter than an average hunter. Maybe too smart.' he finished with a sigh. He darted to a nearby roof top then spoke into his earpiece once more 'How are things back at the infirmary? I assume the Hiringu has started with the other graduates?'

Where ever Darious had disappeared to, he had left no traces of his passing. It would probably take a blood hound or something to track him down "Damn it Darious, worse time to go incognito man." he commenetd out loud as he reached out with his senses trying to find any trace of the Pirate.

As Darious stood at the edge of the building, a thin beam of light bolted from the shadows on the other side of the roof. The beam hit the soul essence propelled prototype, causing it to overcharge and explode into little bits and pieces.

*Character Intro*

*Press Play* A feminine yet not quite female voice resonated from the shadows. "Running home to mommy I see." Following the voice, a man standing about 6 feet with pink hair and a seemingly overabundance of jewelry walked slowly. The reason he was seemingly so tall was due to the pink and black knee high boots the man was wearing. The heel of the boots made him about 6 inches taller. Obviously this man liked the idea of feminine type clothing although besides the boots and jewelry everything else he was wearing was kind of unisex. He wore a pair of black skinny jeans accompanied with a pink wifebeater style tank top. The most notable piece of jewelry was a charm bracelet draping from his left wrist. The thing had a total of four charms; A V followed by three I's, depicting VIII, meaning eight.

Once fully revealed the man once again spoke. "Awwww, what a shame? It seemed to me as though you weren't the type to run from an even better future." The man then delicately placed his hand in front of himself, holding up a single finger as if he was telling Darious to hold on a sec. He then lifted his other hand to his ear and peered down at his left heel, tilting it slightly as if inspecting it for damage or as if something was on it. He then began to speak. "Rico I have your charge with me. It seems as though he was trying to escape. Oh yeah and don't let me forget, later you are to be punished. All of you know when a mission is given to you of this caliber, you better not fail." Removing his hand from his ear and straightening his garments, the man walked closer to Darious with more ease than that of an actual female in those type of boots. Once close enough he reached out his hand. "Names Nereus. The Eighth and most coordinated Knight of the Round." @Newtype @Affili @DergTheDergon @babyjoker36610 @FrontLine

Darious instinctively drew both his pistols as his eye caught the glint of light manifest from the shadows. He shielded his eyes as a million pieces of his hard work suddenly surrounded him like confetti. So much for the council's prototype. He cocked his head to the side at first sight of the one responsible for the destruction. The pirate felt as though he was in the middle of a rock concert of sorts as he watched the abundance of jewelry the man was wearing reflect everything around it. He was itching to watch this guy topple over and face plant into the hard rooftop due to the height of the heels attached the knee high boots the pink haired new comer was sporting but alas, it never happened.

Darious holstered his pistols once he saw the charm bracelet draped off the man's wrist. Seems he was one of the Knights. This notion was confirmed when he sent a transmission to Rico informing him that he had located the pirate.

He took the man's hand firmly and nodded as he shook it trying with great effort to ignore the clinking of Nereus's jewelry "I'm Darious Vaunbane. Please don't be too hard on Rico he's had a rough few hours being stuck with me, and for the record, I wasn't running away, I just figured I was no longer needed. But, given the fact that you made a personal trip to come see me...heels And all" he added with an elegant sweep of his hand. "Seems to suggest that I was wrong."

Darious flicked some debris from the Knight's extravagant garments and watched as it drifted in the wind before excusing himself to move over to the pile of rubble that was once his prototype. With a grand circular sweep of his arm the wind forced the debris to spiral into a cyclone. One final sweep and it all flew off of the roof top and scattered in the breeze to fall amidst the rubble below. The council would not be happy.

A few days later

The entire ship smelled of savory bacon and pancakes. The coffee was brewed and set out in the galley for everyone. Darious sat at a table drooling over the breakfast spread the cooks had prepared absently rubbing the tender spot of his jaw where Rico had landed a heavy right handed hook the previous night. He hadn't seen the messenger in two days and was expecting such a reaction, so he just took it hoping that Rico would be able to get it out of his system. Darious was unsure of the messenger's punishment and didn't care to pry as he was certain it was not pleasant.

Many things had been cleared up over the past few days. The pirate had been reassigned to the field as his punishment for losing the prototype. "We don't need a reckless engineer working on our projects" one had said, another had stated that he was not trustworthy. There had been a ton of blah blahs and hoopla during his meeting before the council. Darious had been intoxicated for the majority of his hearing really. He had found a stash of potent booze aboard Danielle's ship, which was currently his ship until the schedule permitted him leave for the journey to return it.

Darious had happily relocated the vessel to a more serine alcove and offered the remaining graduates their own personal quarters aboard the ship if they were interested. It was secure and easily fortified as well as mobile so the vessel was suitable for everything the graduates would need for their recovery. The pirate was also using the ship as his own living quarters as he awaited further orders from the powers that be.

Rico had shown up there the night before to inform Darious his presence was required for some meeting with the council and that's when the messenger had exacted his own justice, throwing several punches the pirates way which he had taken without resistance. The two of them had gotten drunk afterwards and they were on good terms for now.

Vienna had been nervously pacing in her room for hours as she waited for tempest. Minutes almost seemed like hours as her thoughts spun downward filling with images of her past stuck in a room not unlike this one as experiments were done on her... painful, horrible experiments. She had no idea who those lab coat wearing sadists were, only that they took her there at an early age, and wanted to harness the power of her Koumpi for themselves. The night she escaped was not much more than a blur of a memory. Shadows controlled by someone else ripped the scientists apart, and then a cloaked man stepped into the room, and asked a question as a greeting, in a calm, even tone. "Do you want out of here?" She nodded almost without hesitation, for as much as she felt she couldn't trust this mysterious man, let alone anyone... he gave her a small flicker of hope, and that was enough to trust him at that moment. She doesn't remember much more, until she woke up in the back seat of a car in front of the Shadow Headquarters. It took her a while to not feel like running away, to fully accept entry into the group of Hunters, but she eventually did so after realizing she felt accepted there. Understood. As if she had a purpose in life. All things she'd never felt before.

As the hours ticked by, Vienna almost wished a Hirudo would just pop into this room, just to have something to do that could clear her head. Thankfully, Tempest knocked on the door and came in just when Vienna began staring out the window, contemplating if she should just Shadow step to the shadow the building was casting outside and go anywhere but here. Pretty impressive timing by the Drunken Hiringu. "Hey, you gonna stop staring out the window anytime soon? Cause you're free to leave. You need to give your Koumpi a few more days to fully recover, so till then you'll be free to kick back and do what you want." Vienna silently nodded, still looking outside so all Tempest saw as she stood in the doorway to the small recovery room was the back of her head bobbing forward slightly, tresses of her long black hair shifting with the motion..Wordlessly, she stood, headed over to the wall by he door where her cloak and Scythe sat, strapped the weapon to her back, donned the cloak and raised the hood. While she was doing this, Tempest turned to her and spoke. "I should tell you, the Council wants a word with you once you've fully recovered. Messenger Nicole-Or Nicky, I should say, is required to brief you on how to act and everything. Knowing her, she'll probably show up at your place without warning to explain it all, so keep that in mind." Vienna paused for a second after getting her gear squared away, then made eye contact with Tempest, uttered a barely audible "I see. Thank you for the healing" And brushed past Tempest into the hall without another word. Tempest turned around and called after her, slightly startled by her behavior. "Don't mention it, it's my job. I probably shouldn't be giving out this kind of advice to kids, but you should take up drinking. It helps a lot with stress." Vienna paused for a moment, and with her back still to Tempest, said "I already have... I just try to drink sparingly. After all this, I'm not sure I'll be able to keep it up anymore." Tempest broke into laughter for a bit, calling after the cloaked girl down the hallway. "Heh, I feel you... have a good one." With that, Tempest headed to the next graduate's room and Vienna went straight to her apartment. Opening the door, she looked down to find a piece of paper had been slid underneath her door. It was from the pirates, they were offering solace to the graduates in one of thier ships. Part of her didn't really feel like going. Too many people, too much noise... but it was a change a pace, and she wouldn't be stuck in a room alone until this meeting with the council she's apparently supposed to have. In the end, she agreed to go, and she met up with Nicky there. The Messenger and former Omada had been notified of Vienna's transfer to the ship, and set off there as soon as she received the message on her device.

Three Days Later

Nicky and Vienna were sitting across from each other in a small cabin on Darious' ship,Vienna sitting on the side of the bed while Nicky sat across from her in a chair. On a small table next Nicky was a now half-empty bottle of liquor, her favorite kind. She figured the young Shadow needed a drink, and she was of age so she decided to add a bit a spice to this otherwise boring and formal necessity, the explanation of Council etiquette expectations and blah blah blah. Nicky had learned to appreciate getting kicked out of the Omada over the years... there was still a lot of red tape and double standards among the messengers, but no where near the Omada. Besides, Nicky needed a drink even more after hearing through the grapevine that Ilari was getting a promotion... not to mention that two Graduates died at the hands of one of the other Omada. Things like this were why she told no one about her past... she never wanted to be associated with them, in any way, ever again. But she'd have to spill the beans sooner or later after one of the colleagues saw her run-in with Dye. She decided Anuli would be the first to know, next time she ran into him... if she wasn't forced to tell everyone in front of the council, which she had a sneaking suspicion she would be.

@OwlOne @FrontLine

"So just be respectful, show gratitude and all that, and most importantly don't question the word of the council. In your case i doubt they'll rule anything you won't like, hell you'll probably get promoted. But just keep all that in mind and you'll do fine." Nicky sat back, finally having gone through everything the young Shadow needed to know. "Alright, sounds easy enough. Though sometimes I wish the council wasn't so... formal all the time.", Vienna replied, taking the last sip from her glass and held it up to Nicky to pour some more. " Ha! I hear you.... Damn, never seen a girl your size drink so much without passing out. Last one, alright? I Don't want to be held accountable for this." To Nicky's surprise, Vienna smiled, very visibly and genuinely, whilst nodding.. "Oh don't worry... I can hold my -hic-... hold my liquor." Nicky burst out laughing before handing her another glass. Ha, try telling that to someone who's dealt with a lot less drunks in her life," she said, finding herself smiling. 'She certainly is a lot livelier with a bit of liquor in her... I'll have to keep that in mind.'

Sora got the much needed rest on the first day aboard the Mobile Pirate Ship. He accepted the Pirate's offer to relax aboard the ship. Taking and using an ovida had clearly taken its toll on his soul essence but since that day he has had some strange dreams invovling conversations with a wingless dragon with a long serpentine body. He had taken some time to inquire about this from Josef his messenger who said it could be Sora's koumpi. Sora had also been asking about konsidoes as well. He was really only interested in learning the two finger beam konsido though, this was even more so once Josef explained that he can grow in his powers or become a konsido specialist. Though Josef dashed his hopes of using the Chreosi Iota being it has too !many repurcussions to focus on learning, so this left Sora with one option try to improve his awakening and to do that he needs to converse more with his Koumpi.

In hopes of conversing with his Koumpi more, Sora slept often and most of the day. Today was arguably different as he actually climbed out of bed with one phrase on his lips. "In ancient times there was a warrior that defeated many dragons because he was the strongest one of them all." Sora intepreted this as the ancient warrior must have been a shape shifter. This story was told to him by his koumpi, right before it scolding him saying it can't say the warrior's name because Sora never learned it. This means someone said the phrase to him and he can't remember who said it. As Sora did his morning hygene routine he pondered where he could have heard this. As he finished up it was taken off his mind by the smell of breakfast.

"Run boy!" The voice yelled. "Run like your life depended on it!" Kehinde ran. He was panting with each step. "Turn!" The voice directed. Kehinde did as was told. Meeting him at the turn was a figure that thrust him back to the floor. "Not good enough!" The figure spoke lunging at Kehinde. He froze covering his face.

Once he felt the threat subside he uncovered his face. He was no longer in a hallway. He was back in his old bedroom back home. He looked around and saw everything was in place just how he left it. He was about to go and sit on his bed, but his brother came in, "You ready? Dad is waiting." Kehinde looked at him confused. "No time to play Kachi. We've got to get you out of here." His brother then grabbed him and ran out the room rapidly. Kehinde tried to pull away, but his brother was too strong.

As they walked down the hallway Kehinde could see some men talking to his father. His brother stopped just before the corner. Kehinde could faintly hear what was being said, "Ishmerai." The person spoke, "Pharaoh has taken quite an interest in what your son can do." His father responded something, but he was too far away to hear. “Think of it as a compliment for his upbringing.” The person once again spoke. Kehinde then heard his father slam his fist down on the table, “I’m not giving you my son!” The person laughed, “It’s not about what you aren’t going to do. The boy is coming with us.” A screeching sound revealed the chair being pushed back, “We figured you’d have a hard time with this. So we took the liberty of easing your pain.” Kehinde then looked into the shadow and saw a second person creep up from behind his father. He tried to scream, but his brother held his hand over his mouth. Tears began to fall from his eyes as he witnessed the scene unfold before him. The person then laughed once again, “Tried using that worthless technique on me? I give my gratitude to Mrs. Akachi. Her services really come in handy.” His father layed there out cold. Kehinde's brother then began to walk from behind the corner with himself in tow. “I have retrieved my brother sir.” He remarked. Kehinde looked at his brother with shock as the words left his mouth. He couldn’t believe what he was hearing. He bit the inside of his brother’s hand forcing him to remove it from his mouth. “What have you done?!” He yelled, “Stop this nonsense right now! Pharaoh…..

A sharp pain shot to the forefront of his head causing his eyes to shoot open. He sat up panting. He looked around the room quickly still not realizing where he was. Anuli, Kehinde’s father, and the Hiringu watched trying to figure out what going on. “Where the hell is he?” Kehinde yelled. “Where’s who?” Anuli replied. “He was just here! I saw him.” Kehinde continued. “Who are you talking about son?” Ishmerai responded. “That bastard Heru!” Kehinde retorted. Ishmerai stared at Kehinde a moment then grew silent. Anuli and Tempest slowly turned their heads toward Ishmerai awaiting an answer. Ishmerai shrugged, “You were dreaming son.” Anuli and Tempest quickly shifted their heads toward Kehinde, “Where is he…” Kehinde pestered. Anuli and Tempest looked back at Ishmerai, “He died a long time ago.” Ishmerai returned. Anuli and Tempest slowly turned their heads back toward Kehinde, “You’re so full of….” Ishmerai quickly interrupted him, Anuli and Tempest quickly turning their head toward him, “Forget about it Kehinde. It was a dream.” He firmly avowed.

The two fiercely stared at one another as if they were going to kill each other. Anuli and Tempest looked back and forth at the two and finally interjected hoping to calm the tension, “If I may, Kehinde your charts came back ok and everything looks fine. You are free to go.” She nudged Anuli hoping he’d say something, “Oh…Oh…yes the Council is requesting to meet with you. So we must go ahead and get you dressed and out of here.” Kehinde didn’t take his eyes off his father for one second. He nodded letting Anuli and Tempest know he heard them. He threw the covers off, threw his feet around and stepped down. “To be continued.” He murmured to his father walking past him.

After awhile, Kehinde was dressed and ready to go. His father went on ahead and departed the Infirmary as soon as he saw Kehinde was up and on his feet. Kehinde neatly made his bed, grabbed the last of his things, and then exited the room. Meeting him was Anuli and Tempest. “You look good.” She smiled, “Well I must be going. I’ve got other patients to tend to. Be careful out there.” She waved departing the two. As soon as she was out of view, Anuli handed Kehinde a piece of paper. “It’s from the pirates. They are offering you lodging for the time being.” Kehinde without looking at it handed the piece of paper back to Anuli, “Ok then lets go.” Anuli nodded and then they were off.

Later that evening Kehinde woke up in what seemed to be a cabin. His head was thumping. Kehinde looked around the cabin only to see Anuli staring out of the window. Kehinde cleared his throat, “You’ve been acting strange since the fight with that Omada everything ok?” He questioned. Anuli glanced at Kehinde then returned to his stare out of the window, “It’s nothing.” He sighed stepping back from the window, “Meanwhile you’ll be meeting with the council soon. I should have to explain what you need to do or say around them. You have common sense put them to good use. I don’t have a clue as to what it’s pertaining to so don’t bother asking.” Kehinde nodded, “Wow some explanation you gave.” Anuli rolled his eyes, “Just don't embarrass me. Get cleaned up so we can locate the others.” Kehinde once again nodded, “Ok, if I don’t return in fifteen minutes come looking for me. I don’t trust this ship let alone the pirates.” With that Kehinde departed. Anuli placed his hand to his ear, “This is Anuli. Anyone else on board?” He radioed. Although this was a nice gesture, just like Kehinde Anuli has his doubts. @Newtype

The massive ballroom was full of people, all dressed in delicate marvelous gowns and sophisticated tuxedos. The room decorated with the themes of fall, covered in the earth tones of nature. The crowd being scattered everywhere, from along the emaculate dual staircase to the dining area surrounding the most important factor of the ball. The dance floor filled with several couples dancing in an organized routine like dance to the pristine orchestra. All eyes were on the dance floor, even the king himself was thoroughly amused. Suddenly the orchestra stopped playing and a silence blanketed the room like the eye of a storm.

All attention turned towards the culprit of the distraction. Her @Newtype

A few hours later, the rather sizeable bottle of booze Nicky had brought aboard the ship was sitting empty, between two twenty-something women with low alcohol tolerance. As a result, they both were out cold... until Nicky was woken by Anuli's voice in her earpiece. Fluttering her eyelids open, she barely understood his message, and managed to croak out a reply. "Nicky here...Vienna and I are onboard." Considering this wasn't the first time Nicky had been intoxicated on the job, Anuli and Alf could probably infer why her voice sounded so hoarse and weak during her transmission. Thankfully, that sort of thing wasn't a common reason to be demoted or discharged among Hunters. Since having an awakened Koumpi is so rare, it seems the Council was forced to let such things slide a lot of the time.

Nicky glanced over to Vienna, who sprawled out on the small cabin bed, out cold. Looking more closely, her eyes were shut tight, and the girl was tossing and turning every now and then. Nicky grimaced at this, as she had a feeling she knew what was going on. After a Hunter's first awakening, especially after the Koumpi has recovered from it, extremely vivid and disturbing dreams are often the norm, usually accompanied by strange power-related phenomenon. Sure enough, Nicky felt a strange fluctuation in Soul Essence as the shadows cast through the small window began visually bending themselves towards Vienna in her sleep, the room seeming to darken simultaneously. From Nicky's understanding, it is extremely dangerous to wake anyone in such a state. So she simply observed, on the edge of her seat, as Vienna's fevered dream played out in her mind...

Vienna found herself in a painfully familiar white room, laying bare on a cold metal table. She'd been laying there for hours, in excruciating pain from whatever was forcibly injected into her right arm. A man and a woman in white labcoats stood on either side of her, observing. This was far too real... she'd take anything over being here again. She screamed out in pain, shadows in the room warping and twisting. "Looks like it's working," the female scientist spoke. "I'm not so sure," the male interjected, "At this rate she'll fall unconscious. Unless it can bring her soul essence to a steady increase, we'll have to adjust the serum." Vienna gulped in fear. 'Adjusting the Serum' entailed yet another excruciatingly painful substance flooding her veins. She couldn't take it anymore, she wished to die, for the suffering to stop. Suddenly, she began to hear a strangely familiar voice, raspy, deep and baritone, seeming to echo from every direction. "No. Death is not the answer for you, Whisper," the voice stated, its tone harsh, but also inspiring, echoing with wisdom and purpose. "This isn't who you are, not anymore.... Remember, Whisper." It commanded. "Remember me." looking around the room frantically, Vienna's gaze rested upon a sight that seemed out of place in this memory, yet strangely familiar...

*Press Play* Standing before her was a tall, imposing figure, cloaked in tattered robes seemingly made of pure blackness. Beneath it's hooded visage, there seemed to be nothing... an infinite, soulless void. She felt compelled by it, drawn in. She sat up, and noticed she was no longer bound to the table, no syringe in her arm. Slowly and cautiously, she stood and stepped towards the shadowy figure, spurred on by the prospect of wrapping herself in the darkness, hiding from the fear she felt. But as she reached out for it, she froze in her tracks. "No, you've been hiding for far too long," the voice chided. A bony hand reached inside the cloak a pulled out a Scythe, motioning for her to grasp the hilt of it. It was her own weapon, no doubt about it. Hesitantly, she reached out and took it. "Face your fears with courage and conviction! This past is the enemy! Vanquish it! Leave it behind... and let go." Vienna gripped the Scythe purposefully, and turned back around. The scientists were revealed to be hideous, soulless monsters, not unlike Hirudo. Her fear was replaced with purpose and conviction. She finally knew what to do, how to leave all this behind. She charged at the enemy, and out of the corner of her eye saw two glowing red eyes, watching her intently. These belonged to a lithe, muscular Panther, its fur darker than anything she's seen. Seeing this beast filled Vienna with courage, slashing at her enemy with all her might and fury. Suddenly, this vivid scene faded, and Vienna felt her consciousness returning. *Press Stop*

Sitting bolt upright, Vienna's gaze darted around the room before settling on a concerned-looking Nicky. Taking a shaky deep breath, Vienna let out a sigh.
"Just a dream..." she muttered, her face rife with confusion as she came to terms with the vision. After a breif silence, Nicky spoke. "You saw your Koumpi, didn't you?" Vienna's eyes sudddenly wided with realization. "I... believe so, yes..." "Good... These episodes sure aren't fun, but they're a sign you're becoming stronger." Vienna looked downwards, deep in thought, contemplating. Eventually she lifted her head. "Yes,it would seem that way. I feel strange... but more aware somehow... my head feels clouded and heavy as well, but I don't think that's due to the vision.." Her eyes wondered towards the empty bottle in front of her, and Nicky let out a chuckle. "Yeah, that'd be the hangover. Some exercise and a good meal are the best remedies for that. If you feel up to it... the others are congregating on the next Deck down. Staying cooped up in here won't do you any good." Vienna looked down in thought again, before nodding. "Go on ahead. I'll be there shortly." Nicky nodded, stretching and standing, and tossing the bottle in the bin nearby. Alright kiddo, you need anything, come find me." With that, Nicky exited the room and started heading towards where Anuli said he was, going through what she'd say if and when the topic of the Omada came up. Vienna sat on the edge of the bed for a short while, before getting up and dressing, examining herself in the mirror with baggy eyes, and taming her disheveled black hair. Satisfied, she reached for her Scythe, images of that pitch black, red-eyed Panther running through her mind as she strapped it to her back, donning her cloak. 'You're My Koumpi, aren't you?' Her internal question was answered by a vivid mental image of those red eyes staring intently, accompanied by the word "Yes." Vienna stepped out of the room and proceeded down the hall at a slow and even pace, feeling reassured by the creature's response.. She was closer to unlocking her true potential now, she knew it with her entire being.

Rico had shown up with a cup of coffee and a plate of food just as Darious was finishing breakfast. The pirate sighed "I guess this means rest at relaxation is over huh!"

"You hardly did anything to need so much downtime Darious" Rico replied over the rim of his mug

"How would you know, you were paralyzed remember. anyway I guess the meeting is coming up right? Are they having it on the ship or have the higher ups failed to get their sea legs during their pristine careers?"

Rico merely shrugged in response.

"I've felt some odd soul spikes since I've been sitting here this morning Rico. Spikes from our scarcely seen guests." he added sipping from his own cup of coffee. It was an ale mug really, but who was Rico to question the captain's preferences on his ship.

"It's one of the side effects during the awakening of a hunter's Koumpi. After the initial recovery from their first awakening, the hunters tend to have vivid dreams and sometimes powers leak here and there while they become acquainted with their respective Koumpi." Rico narrowed his eyes at the pirate "Tell me Darious, have you ever felt another presence around you, while training or even back in the infirmary when you faced off with the Soul Stealer?" The pirate thought about this for a few moments before nonchalantly shrugging his shoulders

"I don't know. My talents just seem to come when beckoned. There's never any resistance, no delay, no maniacal

laughter echoing in my mind or anything. It's always instantaneous. Is that normal?"

"Well it's hard to grade 'normal' when your talking about Hunters and their Koumpi really" Rico air quoted normal as he spoke "Every hunter interacts with their Koumpi differently. Some of them have grand conversations with them, some say little, some of them dislike each other but still have to work together. There are rare cases where a hunter's Koumpi is so powerful or chaotic that they are unknowingly supressed by their hunters."

"I don't know man. Seems like there should be records or an archive of research on this topic" Darious responded before moving to the coffee to refill his cup. When he returned Rico had a serious expression plastered on his face and the pirate's face lit up with delight.

"There is an archive isn't there" Darious insinuated with a smile.

"Of course there is you idiot! But you'd never get the chance to read through them, so just drop that idea from your mind right now."

"Yeah yeah" he responded waving the comment aside "So where are these archives? "

Rico began to tell the pirate but quickly cut himself off. "No, I'm not going to tell you...Besides, I have no idea where they keep them anyway."

"Oh you're such a bore" the pirate sighed interrupting the messenger.

"Why don't you touch base with your messengers, get them and their charges here to have a bite to eat before this meeting kicks off? I'm relatively sure it'll drag on for hours."

A few minutes later Rico spoke into his earpiece.

"Attention all messengers. The meeting will be commencing shortly, though I'm still not sure where. Our host has invited you all to join him for breakfast before the meeting starts." he finished while chomping on some bacon. The food was delighful really but unable to resist, Rico spared the pirate a sideways glance then added "I'm eating it and I'm not dead yet, so I doubt it's poisoned or anything and the bacon tastes real enough...What's that you little shit!! Insult my food will you? Why I ought to tear you in half!" A voice roared over the earpiece. He was a bear of a man, and was just sitting down for his meal. Darious knew he was more than capable of living up to the threat, and although he was tempted to watch the events unfold he held his hand up to the chef with a laugh.

"Don't kill him just yet, he isn't even finished talking. It's impolite to interrupt people Chef you know that!

Rico was just about to tell the others how delicious the food is weren't you?"

The messenger swallowed a lump in his throat then spoke into his earpiece again "Like I was saying. The food is really delicious."

The chef grunted at that before storming off back to his seat.

The messenger leaned close and whispered "You could have told me that guy was the chef man"

"Now where would the fun be in that Rico?" the pirate responded with a laugh then winked at the messenger.

"You're such an asshole" Rico finished before leaving to refill his coffee.

Anuli looked around the cabin for a bit to take in the environment. He was still replaying the scene from the infirmary over and over. Kehinde was right he was acting strangely. He just couldn't grasp the fact that this huge fact was missed. Why were they left in the dark?

As he got lost in his thoughts, someone responded to his previous transmission. Speaking of the devil it was Nicky, "Sounds like you're having a little too much fun. You know secrets will do that to you..." He responded. His eyes widened in shock from hearing himself speak. "Did I just say that? Did she hear that?" He thought. His palms began to sweat. If he gets nervous this is what usually happens and he is easily startled. He was about to apologize to her when Kimirou startled him. He jumped almost out the window. He then collected himself the in responded, "Y...yeah he uhh ran to get cleaned up." He chuckled nervously. "Come on Noodle keep it together." He thought looking at Kimirou and Alf. @DergTheDergon @babyjoker36610

After Kehinde cleaned himself up, he looked at himself in the mirror to check himself out. Once he was satisfied he sprayed himself with a hint of lavender, opened the door, and walked out just missing Vienna. He was going to speak, but he saw that her mind was elsewhere. Closing the door behind him, he began to walk back toward his cabin. It was a bit breezy so he had him a coat on to keep him warm. As he walked down the hall he could hear some people talking. The same person then alerted everyone that dinner was ready. Luckily Kehinde was close by because he left his earpiece in his bag. "Should I eat?" He questioned himself. "How else are you going to regain energy you fool." A familiar voice responded from within his head. Kehinde rolled his eyes, "I wasn't asking you." He retorted. "Technically you were. You asked a question, I heard it, and so I answered it. Still want to be a smartass?" The voice returned. Kehinde shook his head and proceeded toward the sounds of talking.

As he got closer he could hear someone being blasted through an earpiece followed by someone being called an asshole. Kehinde chuckled then proceeded in, "I agree. I would have at least told you who made the food." He joked walking over to take a seat. He watched the two men trying to size them up. Kehinde was pretty good at concealing his expressions so to them they would think he was just genuinely smiling. Once he got to the table he pulled out his chair and took a seat. He pulled up in his chair and look to everyone else. "Kehinde...Kehinde Akachi pleasure to meet your company." He then looked at the spread that was displayed on the table, "Looks good." He smirked, "I assume the others will be joining us soon. That way if there is something in this we'd all pay for it hmm?" He joked once again. @Affili

Kehinde may have been joking on the outside, but on the inside he was serious. Back in the academy, the instructor always spoke about being aware, alert, and observant. It was almost as if he could still hear him, "Never let your guard down to the enemy. You never know when they might turn on you. Hospitality is an enemy's strongest weapon." "Hmph, I hear ya," He thought.

Darious raised his hand to stay the massive chef to which the chef retorted with a grunt and mumbled some choice words under his breath before finishing his meal and then disappearing to his quarters.

"Poor Butch, it seems eveyrone's taking cracks at his food this morning. You'll have to forgive him Kehinde Akachi, Butcher there has little for a sense of humor. Rough childhood I suppose, who knows?" He said with a dismissing gesture "All I know is that I've been eating his food for about a week now and as you can see, I'm just fit as a fiddle." he added sipping from his ale mug. "But where are my manners this morning, I've yet do introduce myself to you. Names Darious, and this is my ship for now. My ship is your ship till they decide what to do with the lot of us." hi finished pointing at Rico "That's his people's call"

"I'm sure everything will be sorted out shortly." Rico replied around a mouth full of food. "You really should have something to eat. You guys have been resting for so long a good hearty meal will do you well. Awakenings can take a heavy toll on a hunter's body if they don't take care of themselves."

Darious gestured to the food table at the front of the dining hall behind Kehinde before withdrawing a piece of rolled parchment from the inside of his jacket. There were a few rough sketches on the parchment with some hastily scribbled notes beside them. Rough plans for a device better suited at tracking Hirudo Esence but in order for the device to be tested, Darious had to find some means of extracting a sample from a hirudo. the pirate considreed his plans quietly as he sipped at his coffee and waited for the others.

"I don't care what it is as long as its edible and won't produce any bad effects." Sora said emerging from the shadows. He had been observing the kitchen for a little bit unnoticed with the use of True Concealment. "Nice to meet you Kehinde Akachi, you can call me Sora Kuromaru known as the Apocalypse." Sora said introducing himself. "I volunteer to test the food that way at least I can survive it. You guys never saw much of me except when I shoved an ovida into a Terastios's face. But trust me I got this food tasting game on lock."

Then Sora began hearing his Koumpi in his head. "You know ever wonder about those times when you thought you were arguing with yourself but in truth it was just me and you not noticing me. Now I say this ship could use some atrractive women and an attractive female chef though more likely to poison the food everyone would know because they'd be looking at her 24/7 heh heh." It said. Sora replied in his mind "Well then you're as annoying as ever. Somehow strangely making sense as ever. It's actually kind of scary."

Once Anuli finished expressing where Kehinde was, Kimirou was finished with the conversation and turned to Alf. Alf's eyes were wide and discomforting. Kimirou was going to ask what was wrong, but Alf began to speak. "Anuli! Dude, I can't believe you just said that. Your lucky if she doesn't kill you. You better hope she doesn't torture you behind what you just said." Kimirou stood silence for a few moments and then turned around walking away from the irritating infidels that were supposed to be watching them. Then a transmission came across the earpieces once again. This time it was discussing the food that had been prepared apparently. Alf turned around and noticed Kimirou was gone. He shrugged his shoulders. "Hm. He might have smelled the food." He then turned around and continued his conversation with Anuli. "The dreams are getting worse and even more intense. This morning he almost froze our cabin completely shut. I don't know what to do Anuli. I didn't realize we were actually going to be babysitters." Alf then sat on a nearby chair and laid back. "Any idea yet on how this meeting is going to go down? Also has there been any word of the knights?" @Newtype @FrontLine @DergTheDergon

As Nicky headed down the stairs after hearing Alf's transmission about breakfast, she started to hear chatter coming from the next room. It seems like most of this dysfunctional band of misfits had already arrived. She stopped and hesitated, clenching her fists as she thought of what Anuli had said over the intercom just moments ago. She barely noticed someone walk past but paid them little mind as she desperately tried to calm herself before she made a scene in front of her colleagues, thinking to herself. 'I can't believe he said that for the whole goddamn division to hear! Is he nuts?!' She took a shaky deep breath, bracing herself against the wall with one hand, rubbing her temples with the other. 'Got to admit he's right though... hit the nail on the goddamn head. That's why it pisses me off...' While admitting this to herself hurt, it put things into perspective. 'Since everyone's here, this'd be the perfect time to clear all this bullshit up.... so that's what I'm going to do.'

Coming to this decision, she finally collected herself and began walking down the stairs, and Vienna coincidentally caught up with her that very moment. Nicky looked towards her, a bit surprised.
"Oh, hi Vienna. The others are waiting, let's join 'em." Nicky continued down the stairs without a word, and Vienna could tell something was weighing on the messenger... she did have a feeling she'd find out what sooner rather than later, somehow, so she let it be and silently followed. It seems they were just in time for introductions as the two entered the dining hall. They both silently walked in until eyes inevitably fell on them. Vienna stepped up firt, sensing Nicky's apperent nervousness, and introduced herself. "It looks like we're just in time. I am Vienna Moors of the Shadows, Though I'm most known by my alias, Whisper." She then wordlessly sat down at the table, not touching the food just yet.

Nicky then stepped up, glancing over everyone as nonchalantly as she could in her nervous state.
"For those of you that might not know, I'm Nicky from the messenger Division. Since we're all here, I'd like to clear up something that some of you seem pretty damn concerned about," she began, casting a narrowed sideways glance at Anuli before continuing. You may or may not have noticed I was acting pretty strange during the whole mess at Council Medical a few days ago... I'd like to explain myself since the cat's already half out of the bag by now." Taking one last deep breath and waiting till at least most of the others seemed to be paying attention, she spoke up once more. "I'm going to keep this short, 'cause there are a few things the council forbids me telling anyone, but the gist of it is this: I used to be an Omada." Looking around for everyone's reaction to that bombshell, although it may not be a surprise to some, she then continued. "I went by Anja, meaning Indigo. Reason I'm a Messenger now is that... well, I was demoted. Let's just say my superiors didn't really agree with how I handled a crucial mission, and leave it at that. I had part of my soul essence drained, but the sharper among you seemed to have caught on to my knowledge of Konsido not normally known by messengers, maybe sensed a difference in my soul. The reason it's been kept secret by now is... really fuckin' complicated, to say the least. Suffice to say it comes from the top, so I'm not sure how much I can rightly say here, but I wanted to at least clear up a few things before the Knights have a chance to shut me up some way or another.... I know it probably just leaves more questions then answers, but like I said I'm already pushing my luck." Nicky sat down, waiting for the inevitable heavy atmosphere she most likely caused to settle, before looking to Anuli a bit hesitantly. "Hey. I really needed to get that off my chest, and you gave me the push i needed. So i won't fry your damn brains out for what you said earlier." She then turned away from him and grabbed a plate, while Vienna did the same, the young Shadow remaining silent and observing the others for now while periodically picking at her food.

Anuli took a moment to regain his composure. Saying things like that could spill bad blood between people. Anuli knew first hand of this because he was once tied up in a web of lies once before. To this day, Anuli has a deep-seated hatred toward the person. Once he finally came around, he noticed Alf was just as shocked as he was. “I know I shouldn’t have said such a thing. Don’t even know what I was thinking.” He responded walking over to unpack his things. “Wonder where the Egyptian primadonna went. It’s been more than fifteen minutes.” He thought checking his bags to make sure he’s set.

While he set some clothes out for the evening a transmission came through informing them that the repast is ready. Anuli sighed knowing Nicky was going to be there. So he figured he apologize to her and everyone else of his childish move. He looked over his shoulder and saw Kimirou leaving, “Hey! You see Kehinde tell him I’m loo…” Before he knew it Kimirou was gone. “Damn…he walks too fast.” Anuli then returned to his preparation for the evening. “Yeah, that pri…..I mean Kehinde had a bad spell this morning. Woke up demanding the location of his brother or something,” Anuli zipped up his bag, “I don’t know the whole family has problems.” He shook his head. Anuli waltzed over to check the bathroom for Kehinde, but there was no sign of him, “Must have gone on ahead to the dining area.” He mumbled. He then returned to the room hearing Alf as about any information. “I’m not sure. Lady Temp told me they just wanted to meet with them. We’re on orders for the knights so we don’t get to hear the gossip from the council right now,” He proceeded to the door opening it, “As far as the knights go, I know just as much as you do.” He finished proceeding out of the door, “I’ll see ya at the dining table.” He waved. @Newtype @babyjoker36610

Nicky was wholly expecting his outburst, and for most of it she stared straight down at the table, clenching her fists and trying not to make this situation any worse. Anuli had every right to be pissed, but the parts about the Council itself working to keep it a secret all this time seemed to go in one ear and out the other. You don't "Damn all that other stuff" without serious repercussions. It would take hours to explain everything, anyway... and she'd pretty much be signing her death warrant at that point. But again, he didn't know that. As the situation escalated around her, she at first stayed sitting there, fists clenched, staring at the table, hoping she could just have never said these things... and have never done the things that made them truth. But life didn't work like that. Hearing Kehnde and Anuli nearly coming to blows, she looked up at them finally, looking Anuli in the eyes. She spoke as calmly and clearly as she could, though er voice and body were shaking

"Anuli, listen to me. Please. I would've told you much, much sooner, if it weren't for this: I had to sign a contract, in blood, when I joined. I must never reveal any sensitive information I know. The more I say, the more chance I have of digging my own damn grave. That's how the Omada keep themselves so goddamn mysterious. You're right, you didn't deserve to be left in the dark... So I can explain everything right now, but don't be surprised if I just disappear one day without a trace. Go ahead and hit me if you want. I'm sorry.. but I just can't say any more..." She went silent sat there, looking down, on the verge of tears now, waiting for a response of any kind.

Vienna looked at her, eyes widening with realization, but she remained silent, not wanting to get involved. "I see... what she said to me at the hospital makes some sense now... but I wonder why she said such things now, if such consequences abound... secrets are necessary." Her Koumpi answered her without warning. "To you as a shadow, yes... In learning your techniques, you understood this... but some cannot handle the truth, and so they cannot hide it for long."

Kimirou sat silently still as the girls entered the room. Vienna introduced herself and Kimirou nodded in greeting. He then raced back to the dream he kept having. 'Who was that woman? Why am I dreaming of her? Where is the voice from the infirmary? What's that language? Why can I understand it?' So many thoughts ran through Kimirou's head.

He came back to reality just in time to hear Nicky confessing her secret. Kimirou smiled and kind of chuckled a little. The reason he laughed was that with his ability to sense soul essence so well, he noticed the first time he met Nicky something was holding her soul essence back. Kimirou finally finished his breakfast and the cigarette simultaneously. He flicked the cigarette and washed his dishes. Before returning to the table, he grabbed another cup of coffee.

When he sat back down with the group he lit another cigarette and sipped his coffee. He looked around the room a couple of times to make sure no one was trying to figure out what he was thinking. "It's typical what you are going through. Don't worry so much. Most of them are going through the exact same thing." Alf expressed to Kimirou as he noticed Kimirou's icy eyes wandering the room. "Where have you been? And when did you get here?" Kimirou quietly retorted. "Anuli and I had a small conversation." Before Alf could continue to speak Kimirou interrupted him. "Your worried about my dreams and the fact that my powers are leaking out during them didn't you? Worried are we?"

Right as Alf was about to answer, Kimirou's new question he was interrupted once again but this time by the turmoil in the room. They apparently missed Anuli's initial outburst but looked up just in time to see Kehinde and Anuli at odds. He was going to try and diffuse the situation, but things seemed to be deteriorating fast. Nicky tried pleading with Anuli. Seeing that her efforts may be falling on deaf ears, Alf spoke up, "Anuli! Kehinde! Calm yourselves. You two are acting as if you don't have secrets of your own. We all have secrets. Just be happy she told us that much. Even that much could possibly have Nicky in a lot of trouble with the council. I'm sure all is messengers know to what lengths the council will go to in order to keep secrets." Kimirou looked over to Alf. "You shouldn't intervene in situations that don't involve you. They are more troublesome than what its worth."

After Kimirou's comment, Alf's eyes shot over to him with anger. "Let me tell you something. I'm tired of your I don't give a shit attitude. You see we are messengers. You graduates are our charges. We are your superiors. You are to listen to our orders as if they are coming from a Knight himself." Kimirou stood slamming his hands on the table out of anger towards Alf's most recent statement. "Our superiors? Listen to your order like they are coming from a Knight? I think not. If anything the Knights find us so important that put you messengers on guard duty. Guarding us graduates to make sure we don't get tired from useless battles that are beneath us. If anything that means we are royalty and you are our guards. Meaning you make sure you get us whatever we ask for like the common servant you actually act like. You egotistical underachieving worthless waste of soul essence. By the way, that means you aren't even worth being a waste of space."

Alf's anger could be seen growing is his eyes and the vein bulging from his neck. The tension in the air could literally be cut by a knife at this point. Kimirou looked over to Kehinde and cut his eyes giving him the sign it was them against the messengers at this point. Kimirou's eyes still iced over as if it was normal.

"Oh this?, It's nothing but an idea right now, but when I get my hands on some materials, we'll see what it becomes" he replied with a smile "I've been thinking Kehinde. Every hunter can track Hirudo essence if they focus long enough. But my issue is this! All that time focusing could be better spent on other tasks. So, This little device here, takes the need to focus from the hunter. I'm not sure how it will be represented just yet but it seems the easiest method would be a series of beeps and lights that will indicate the presence of a Hirudo, its location,et cetera" he explained while rolling his hand. "From the moment a Hirudo starts to manifest this device will be able to track it. All of these features will be wrapped up into an extremely stylish fashion accessory of course!" he finished, rolling the parchment back up and tucking it away just as Nicky spilled the beans about her past experiences as an Omada.

None of their histories or past deeds really bothered the pirate much though. Despite the fact that he new little about the Omada, he understood they had their roll to play in all things and he also understood the necessity of the Soul Stealer as well. It seemed a few of the other messenger's didn't take to kindly to Nicky's past affairs.

He spared Rico a glance but all Rico would offer him was a shrug of his shoulders mouthing 'past is past' to which the pirate nodded in agreement before returning his attention tot he escalating situation between Kehinde and Alf.

“What’s it gonna be?” Alf questioned Kehinde angrily and then after Kimirou's comments the situation escalated further. Messengers against graduates it seemed. All of the messenger's aid to the graduates in the infirmary, all of the teamwork demonstrated by both parties while holding the Omada in check suddenly lost to the wind.

"There will be nothing on this ship" the pirate interjected firmly.

"If you guys have issues to settle take them to the beach and kill each other for all I care! The Omada is a necessary organization. As are the Knights, as well as the messengers and the hunters. Each of us have our own roles to play and all of us have our own secrets and history. But the one thing we all have in common is that we all answer to somebody. What matters now is precisely that alone. The Now. Not the then. If you will kindly tone it down a bit it would be much appreciated by everyone. All this tension is starting to give me a headache!"

Harbinger Niclaus

Precisely,” A feminine yet not quite female voice resonated within the room. *Press Play* Clicking of heels could be heard coming from the hallway growing closer and closer, “You’re acting like a bunch of hormonal women, The thing is as a hunter you are to learn how to control your emotions. Can’t let things from the past get to you. That will most likely getcha killed.” The voice chuckled.

Turning the corner was none other than Harbinger number eight Nereus Niclaus. He stood in the doorway looking at each of the hunters. He then leaned on the door seal bringing his free hand up looking at his nails. “I need a manicure after this,” He observed. Nereus had changed up his @Newtype

As usual the eighth's entrance was dramatic and demanding. As if some invisible spot lights followed him around everywhere. The Pirate was quite happy to let the knight diffuse the situation. It was no suprise to Darious that the council was being decieved yet again. It seemed the way of things. The council had their noses in everything, yet were often oblivious to what was actually going on.

'Oh we're getting a new alias' He thought to himself. 'David, Donald...whatever' He withdrew the rolled parchment from his jacket once more and laid it on the table in front of him.

"As I said, It's fairly simple really. The indicators are eye catching enough to be read in a single glance" he began pointing to the various dials and indicators." It's just a rough sketch, but it'll be a small device that can be set into a watch wristband, pendants something that will be easy to wear as an accessory." He went over all the indicators explaining what they were all for. Distance, estimated number of Hirudo, their strength, location. It only took a few minutes. "The only thing left to do now, is capture the Hirudo Essence. Each device will have to capture its own essence in order to work. This is hard to explain so bare with me." he paused in thought for a moment.

"Hirudo Essence! If you all will recall, when you destroy a Hirudo, it fades to that horrible sulfuric smelling mist before dissipating entirely. These interchangeable cartridges are kind of like a battery for the device." he described, pointing to the circular cartridge on the sketch as he ran his gaze over the other hunters. "Once the Hirudo essence that is contained within the cartridge is finished, you'll have to change it. It'll probably be best to use one Hirudo to charge several cartridges. either that, or recharge the same cartridge from another Hirudo. They act like sniffers for Hirudo essence really. Sucking in that acrid mist to the cartridge then circulating it within the device to activate all the gizmos. I think I might have just enough materials left in my stash to fabricate enough devices for us." he finished with a sigh, sipping his coffee once more.

His gaze fell on The Eighth Knight.

"Now if we are to be assigned an alias for this next mission, Mine will be Donald I presume? So let me introduce myself . I inherited this horrible namesake from my late father Donald Senior, along with his extensive Vineyard and a modest fleet of merchant ships." He tapped his chin with a finger then continued "Running the vineyard was too repetitive and boring for me so I decided to travel around on my ship in search for exotic new products. Exotic coffee, cocoa, herbs, spices new kinds of grapes, things of that nature. I hate being called Donald so people will know me as Junior and quite frequently people will hire my ship for transport. For the right price of course. Pleasure to meet you all! There, how's that sound Mister Eighth?"
