Conundrum: The Question Without An Answer (Season One)

Resigning on his search for information, Darious had returned to the waiting room adjacent to where the hospital was holding his comrade and slid into a chair with a heavy sigh. Teristos, Awakenings, mass casualties and an unexplained turn of events as to how this supposedly organized test ended up. As the pirate mulled the information over in his chair, a solemn faced nurse approached him slowly, pulling him from his brooding

"I'm sorry to say this, but your friend's injuries were too extensive for us to treat. We did all we could but in the end, she was given sedatives to ease her suffering and slipped from this world." She continued after a moment to compose herself. "I'm so sorry... If the Hiringu had been here, there may have been a chance..." her voice wavered then trailed off into silence."

"I understand, and thank you for all of your efforts. Don't look so glum, I have no doubts that you have helped to save many lives this day. Can't save them all." he finished with a sigh.

The nurse nodded then quietly slipped away.

He visited her room once more to say farewell and give the doctors instructions as to what they should do with the body.

Darious produced a small ornate vial from his pocket and handed it to the nearest doctor leveling him with a steady gaze. "Sprinkle the contents of this vial over her body then cremate her along with spiced wood and the empty vial then send the ashes to the Pirate Faction in a jar that they may scatter them across the seas. A burial fit for a captain." he finished with a slight bow of his head.

The doctor nodded as he took the vial and set it aside. The vial consisted of a blend of scented oils which were extracted from some of the lush plant life native to The Isles. It was ancient tradition, one that had been carried through the Pirate bloodlines over the centuries and was common practice to those families that had captains amidst them.

One last thing to do, Darious needed to check in with his faction. For this he slipped up to the roof of the hospital. The pirate whistled a haunting melody that echoed from the roof top, and a few minutes later he spotted the parrot that would carry his update back to the faction. It chirped curiously from his shoulder, cocking its head as if it sensed something terrible had happened. Darious paused from his writing and looked at the bird from the corner of his eye.

"Yeah, I'm afraid it's bad news old friend" he offered before returning to the parchment.

He conveyed his findings and the news of a great captain's death in battle on a piece of the Pirate Faction's traditional parchment; also indicating that her ship was still in a nearby harbor and he would take possession of it and what was left of the crew until they could return it to her family. His final notes stated his intentions and after one last read through, he signed the message, and rolled it up tightly so it would fit in the tube strapped to the parrots leg.

Darious held up his arm and the bird hopped down from his shoulder. He offered the messenger bird a food pellet that it accepted happily then speaking softly as he stroked the parrots head said "This pellet will give you the strength and energy you need for a direct flight back home. Fly with haste old friend!"

The bird nudged the side of Darious' cheek in response before he threw his arm up sending it on its voyage home.

He had been aware of the messenger's presence ever since he conveyed the instructions to the doctors about Danielle's cremation. They had also followed him to the roof. Darious called over his shoulder as he watched the bird slip from sight.

"Thank you for respecting my privacy while I've been handling my affairs sir messenger! As for the bird? Just some notes on my findings since I've been here. i have been given instructions to cooperate with your people but I'm sure that my findings are nothing you and you're people are not already aware of I ensure you. Now tell me. What information are you authorized to give me, that I am unaware of? It seems some unforeseen circumstances have emerged that were never factored into this organized test for the graduates."

Venom smiled at the girl when she held out her hand for the flask. Venom chuckled a bit as he held the flask out to her. "The bastards. Keeping a woman in such pain from the sweet release of her inebriated comfort." Before she could grab the flask however, he pulled it back the flask with his wrist. His special concoction of drink was not something many would swig down so quickly. Oddly enough, Venom was surprised an assassin was so trusting of a complete strangers drink.

He looked her dead in the eye, waiting before he lowered the flask back down to her. "Quid pro quo, Madame Tueur. The flask for a name."

@Lioness075

Leandra remained deadpanned while Venom spoke, waiting for him to offer her the flask. Yet, the moment he had done so and finished speaking, he had already pulled it back before Leandra could even grab it, which was near impossible for her to do in her current state. Scowling at Venom, Leandra's eye met his gaze, clearly depicting the frustration and anger she felt even if she wasn't showing all of it through her facial expression. Then again, her facial expression clearly showed her frustration regardless. It wasn't like she was asking him to lay down his life for her or anything. She was just desperate for a drink after everything she'd been through.

When Venom then met her gaze though, Leandra felt her heart speed up slightly. What was he about to say or do? Yet, when he next spoke, Leandra was at first confused since he spoke in a language that she didn't recognize at all. Though, she understood the last part. Narrowing her eye at Venom, LEandra then said, "First off, I don't speak whatever language you keep speaking so you can stop speaking with it. Second of all, if you won't give me your flask then just get one from my gear. All of my gear is on a table over there." She then pointed across the room to a small table, which sported her folded-up uniform along with several flasks and numerous decks of cards. Underneath her folded uniform was her pistol, as such a weapon wasn't exactly allowed in the infirmary area.

Lucas's expression soured a bit at the Assassins reluctance and stubbornness. It wasn't like he was asking much of her, he simply wanted to know a name. However, the soured expression didn't last for very long as he stood and took another draft of his own flask. Venom was typically a good mood sort of guy, weather it was a natural good mood or something a little more "chemical". The current good mood was a bit of both with the pain meds swimming around in his stomach full of alcohol. He looked back at the woman in the bed as he made his way over to the place she indicated and he held his flask up to her. "Probably for the best Mon Cherri, I doubt your used to Absinthe laced with rattlesnake venom. It might not sit well with you."

Lucas reached the table and picked up one of the flasks and gave it a little shake. The liquid inside sloshed around letting him know the contents of the flask where indeed inside. As he eye'd her effects, Venom noticed the decks of playing cards and picked up one flipping it over in his hands. They seemed like normal cards, but from what he saw on the battlefield, their purpose was beyond normal. He set the deck down and turned back to the woman. He walked over to the edge of the bed, his smile never leaving his face as he flipped the flask over in his hands a few times. before he set the flask down slowly in her right hand. As he did, he spoke to her, in a bit more hushed and eerie tone "And the language is French, which I will proudly speak whenever I feel Mrs. Sinciato." His eyes flashed to her as he spoke her name, his smile seeming to widen the slightest bit.

@Lioness075

Leandra smirked when she saw Venom's expression drop ever so slightly after hearing her response. That was fine by her, she wanted him gone anyways. Why was he still here with her anyways? What did he want? Watching him take another swig of his own alcohol, Leandra narrowed her eye. Was he going to help her or continue to make a mockery of her? Once Venom got up and moved over to her belongings, Leandra listened to him explain what his drink was composed of and raised her eyebrow as she silently wondered why he'd lace his alcohol with something so dangerous to begin with. Leandra's alcohol was simply alcohol and she enjoyed it because it kept her mind off of what she'd normally be thinking of. Suddenly remembering her dream before she'd woken up, Leandra winced and moved her right hand up to the side of her head while Venom was looking over her belongings.

By the time Venom had turned around and was facing Leandra once more, her hand was in her lap once more and expressionless so as to avoid showing the pain she felt in her head at the moment. What was taking the Thief so long to get one of her flasks? Warily watching Venom while he walked back over to her bed, creepily smiling the whole way, Leandra's eye never left Venom's face until the flask was in her right hand. She then shakily unscrewed the top while holding the flask between her legs due to the fact that her left hand was wrapped like a cocoon. She'd lost a few fingers and broken several bones in it after all. Eventually though, Leandra had the flask open, but before she could move to pick it up and drink from it, Venom spoke once more. What he said froze Leandra in place, her face even paling slightly. Yet, the moment was quick to pass, as she swiftly clenched her right palm into a fist and in a blur was quickly swinging it at Venom's face, intent on breaking his nose. Anger was evident on her face, as she asked sharply with the action, "How the hell do you know my name, Thief?!"

If the Thief knew her name, then he could know her past. Leandra had worked very hard her whole life to keep her past nothing but a past and a shadow to fall behind her. She never wanted to revisit it, nor did she want anyone to know it. How had Venom learned her name? Of course, lacking better judgement in the moment and being irrational, Leandra's punch had enough force behind it that she'd probably end up breaking a knuckle or two if her punch was successful in striking Venom's face.

@zCrookedz

Venom's head was nearly caught in the cross fire of the Assassins surprise attack after learning that Venom actually knew her name. He swung his head backwards just as her fist came across, the tip of his nose dragged across her knuckles. He had to admit, even badly damaged she was an extremely capable sort. Venom took a comfortable step back from the bed and slid his hand into pocket to put his flask away. However when he pulled his hand back out, it was not empty. In it was a folded piece of paper that he held between his pointer and index finger. He continued to smile at her as he spoke "Please do try to relax Miss Sinciato, we would not want you to tear your stitches...or worse. Now then, as for how I acquired the information, A theif does not typically reveal his, connaissance. BUT since I have nothing better to do until someone comes looking for me, I might as well shed a bit of light on this." Venom continued to walk the other side of the bed and returned to his seat. He began unfolding the paper, which was revealed to have the hospital insignia on it. "THIS is a list of the names of all of us who were admitted last night after we killed the Terastios. They took our names, affiliations, and our age. Everything else was either blacked out, or was.......inaccessible." Venom didn't want to mention that when he had tried to get into the file drawers with more information in them, he snapped his last lock pick in half.

He began to read off the names and the affiliations of each of the people who had been brought in with them the night before. Venoms snooping had proved to be a bit beneficial to learning a bit more about those he had fought with, but what had him more than a little intrigued was how panicky Leandra seemed to be that he had found out even the slightest bit of information. He folded the paper back up and slipped it back into the pocket of his robe. He placed his fingers together in front of him and smiled to Leandra
"I do apologize for the charade of not actually knowing your name. It is so much easier to learn about someone when you watch their reaction to situations such as these."

Rico watched in silence as the hunter handled the final loose ends for the late Ms. Bombastic. He was in awe seeing that he was going through great lengths to ensure she has a proper homegoing. Guess the saying is true, once a family always a family. This hunter exemplified this concept time after time for his faction mate and it was utterly impressive to the likes of Rico. Rico was taken aback when the hunter acknowledged his presence. Rico thought he was doing a good job of keeping quiet, but wasn’t good enough. Was it his soul essence? Maybe. Rico was never good at controlling his soul essence, so anyone would sense him a mile away. That will be something he will have to work on at the next all council training day. “Bravo. You sensed me even when I didn’t say a word.” Rico smiled walking out of the shadow.

As he got closer, he began to size up the hunter to see if all the hype was just that hype. Rico was very critical when it came to these sort of things, “Not bad.” He thought to himself, “I wonder if we were to fight who would come out on top.” He continued oddly smiling at the hunter. This was a bad habit of Rico. He was always known as the creeper because he did strange things when talking to people. “Perfect I expect a full report by tomorrow.” He insisted. Rico then walked over to the ledge and sat on it. It was a good thing the rain had slacked off for a little while because any more would ruin the efforts of the clean up. He then shot a look over to the hunter, “So it would seem.” He responded, “I’m not at liberty to give someone of your rank any more information regarding the matter. It above you pay grade.” He finished looking at his watch. “But what I can tell you is that we have the Omada poking around trying to get answers. Their efforts have been unsuccessful, but that doesn’t mean they won’t keep trying. I was sent here to ensure one of them doesn’t get to you.” @Newtype @Lioness075 @zCrookedz

In Vienna's room within the recovery ward, only the ticking of the clock and Nicky's foot nervously tapping on the floor could be heard. Eventually, Vienna spoke up. "Are the Omada the only threat here, or is there something beyond that you haven't told me? You seem extremely restless." Nicky shook her head and sighed. "As far as i'm aware, yeah, the Omada are the only present danger to us. Right now, it's in thier best interest not to start a fight over a few uncooperative interrogation victims, but I have a feeling they're gonna use every trick in the book to get what they want." Vienna seemed to silently think over Nicky's words for a moment, before speaking up again. "You... really aren't fond of the Omada, are you?" "No, not a fan of thier type one bit. Nosy, self-entitled busybodies are all they are. Maybe I'm biased though. I dated a private investigator once. He's pretty good at exposing other people's quote-on quote 'secret' affairs, but he's the biggest damn hypocrite I've ever met, if you get what I mean..." She shook her head, and Vienna frowned seeming to sympathize with her although it was a bit difficult to tell. "I apologize... that must have been hard for you to deal with." Nicky waved dismissively in response. "Ah, it's no big deal. Shit happens, people are assholes, life isn't fair. Sooner someone learns to deal with those facts, sooner they can stop moping and move on." A single word, spoken after a short pause with a thoughtful frown framing Vienna's face, was her only response. "...Indeed."

All of a sudden, Nicky heard static from her earpiece, reflexively putting her hand to her ear as Rico's message came through. "Understood. Remaining Vigilant. Agent Nicky out." She put her hand back down, letting out a heavy sigh, muttering under her breath. "Dammit! That's the last thing we need..." Vienna gave Nicky a quizzical look. 'What's going on?" Nicky sighed and stood up. quickly going over to the window and peeking out, trying to see if she could keep track of the impending threat herself. "The Omada's leader is En Route. The Soulstealer, they call him... one of those types you hope you never come face-to-face with." "I'd imagine so, given the name," Vienna replied nonchalantly. "Yep... let's just hope one of the Hiringu get here really damn fast... the fact that they're all out on a mission right now seems like pretty convenient for the Omada, if you ask me..." Vienna silently stood up, a little shakily but successfully, and picked up her Scythe which was until now resting against the wall. Nicky turned sharply towards her, giving her a confused look. "..You aren't planning on fighting him, are you?" Vienna shook her head. "No. I am planning on taking action if it seems absolutely necessary. Being prepared for everything is The Shadows' prerogative... and I intend to follow it more closely than I did with the Terastios." Nicky simply nodded, thinking it better not to question or press the issue. Vienna didn't seem like the type to act before thinking, most of the time anyway... though she did seem to go pretty haywire when encountering the Terastios, somehow. Nicky shook her head, thinking it better not to dwell on such things right now.

Leandra wasn't too pleased when her attack missed for the most part, though her knuckles did manage to barely scrape against Venom's nose. Yet, when Leandra settled back against her bedrest and brought her arm back to her side, her eyes immediately widened, as she indeed felt some of the stitches in her chest possibly tear while sharp pain laced her chest. Gasping at this, Leandra scowled at Venom's attempt to tell her to calm down. In response to this, she used her right hand to pick up her flask and take a swig of it. After putting the flask back down between her legs so as to balance it and prevent it from spilling anywhere, Leandra shifted her stoic gaze back to Venom just as he flashed the paper he'd found, i.e. stolen, and claimed to be a list of all of the Hunters' names, affiliations, and their ages. When he mentioned his inability to access everything else, Leandra merely raised an eyebrow, as his hesitance to finish his sentence suggested otherwise.

Listening to all of the information that Venom read off, Leandra mentally stored it away for possible use later on. Especially if she still had to work with everyone after everyone recovered from their injuries and were released from the hospital. Still, Leandra ultimately wanted nothing to do with any of the other Hunters and despite knowing something about all of them, she would still do her best to avoid all contact with them. Watching Venom folding up the paper and putting it away, Leandra immediately felt her heart skip a beat, more so when he folded his fingers together and smiled at her. So now he was gong to reveal the real reason why he was here. Sure enough, Venom's words suggested that he was trying to learn more about her. But why? To what means? What purpose? Scowling at Venom, Leandra decided against answering him, as she instead merely picked her flask up again and took another swig. She didn't owe any answer to Venom, especially not to any Thief.

Outside of Leandra's room, the Omada stood guard stoically, so focused on seeing the Messenger's reaction upon seeing him that he never once noticed anything amiss in Leandra's room. Even when he heard some quiet talking. Perhaps the Hunter's head had been messed with upon being injured in the fight. Either way, right now the Omada's concern was keeping the Messenger from getting back inside unless she allowed the Omada to ask the Hunter some questions. Sure enough, the sound of boots striking a tile floor could be heard briskly approaching Leandra's room and soon Iskra rounded a corner with another coffee in hand. She immediately came to an abrupt halt upon seeing the Omada standing in her way though. Narrowing her eyes and clearly expressing anger, Iskra stomped right up to the Omada and said in an even and clearly pissed tone, "What do you think you're doing? Step aside." The Omada simply smiled in return, as he calmly replied, "I'd love to see you make me, sweetheart."

Enraged by the Omada's response, Iskra took another step closer to him, inches from him now, as she glared up at him, he was a few inches taller than her after all, and said quietly, "You're going to move within three seconds or I will in fact make you move. Your choice."

Kimirou, not realizing his soul essence hadn't returned to normal yet, tried to sense the soul essences around the infirmary. Unfortunately, he was unsuccessful. He swung his legs off of the left edge of the bed to inspect himself. Noticing his physical injuries were minor, he smiled. 'What am I even in here for if my injuries weren't that bad.' Kimirou proceeded to his feet and quietly walk over to the door. He placed his back to the door and crossed his arms. Keeping his feet placed firmly on the floor he lowered his head and closed is eyes.

Kimirou chuckled a bit and then spoke. "So how long are you guys expecting to keep me in here?" On the other side of the door, Alf stood with his back leaning against the door. His arms were crossed as well and his eyes were closed. However, his head was tilted up exposing his neck and one of his legs was bent at the knee with his foot against the door. "Your conditions call for an unknown recovery time," Alf's mumbling returned to Kimirou.

The nurse at the station across from Alf looked up and wondered if Alf was talking to himself. Kimirou smirked. "How long do you think I will listen to these lies? My injuries are minor and nothing a bandage wouldn't cure." Alf chuckled at the words he just heard. "Oh, really you think your injuries are minor. Well, let me shock you. You have amnesia of anything that happened after the incident where you were apparently flung into snow, your soul essence was zero when I brought you in and hasn't returned to normal, your body is still below 70 degrees internally, and to top that all off your optic nerves are completely frozen. It's in awe of how not only your are able to see but the fact that you are alive altogether."

Kimirou's eyes shot open at the disturbing news although no other part of his body moved. Alf continued from the other side of the door. "Those factors alone are the reasons why your brother decided no one else would be your doctor. He wanted to make sure your would live. He wanted to make sure you were safe." As these words entered Kimirou's ears, his head moved to the roof and his eyes were locked on the ceiling. *Press Play* "That's actually funny. My brother has always been there for me. Watching from the shadows, healing me while I was passed out from training, even leaving notes and things for me to find. He did all of this while we were forced to hate each other." When Kimirou paused Alf had no choice but to intervene. "What do you mean forced to hate each other?" Kimirou continued. "It's simple actually. You see my brother is 10 years older than I am. I was only the age of 5 at the time and that was two years before Torii was born." Kimirou looked over to Torii as he continued. "I remember it like it was yesterday. I was taking a nap and this huge commotion caused me to wake up. I could hear screaming from downstairs. I walked to the staircase and sat on the top step. I looked down to find my father and mother in a heated conversation with Talsin. My mother was crying and trying to keep my father separated while simultaneously begging my brother to stay. My father was furious and ready to attack. However, the words that stuck with me from that entire ordeal was my brother's monologue to my parents."

Kimirou paused for a minute as a tear ran from his face. "There is no reason to cry nor a reason to be angered. Neither of you can help me in what I must do. Neither of you is fit to be parents. I am going to join the scout faction. You see, like me, they pride on intelligence. In order for me to succeed on my path to becoming a medical specialist, they are the ones I need to follow. Father, I understand your frustration bit you are the main blame for this. I also wouldn't recommend balling your fist unless you are prepared to die. Mother, you are not to be blamed totally, but you are a factor, seeing as you could have prevented this by just leaving the bastard." Kimirou sighed before continuing. "And with one final warning in an instant, the door slammed and he was gone." Alf lowered his head and his eyes opened slowly with sadness. "Do you know what the warning was." Kimirou returned an answer to Alf's question. "Around a year later my mother sat me down. I had been waiting on my father to come home from his mission, but he had yet to arrive. My mother pulled a note from her pocket and told me a messenger falcon flew in earlier with this, not on its foot. Her voice was unpleasant, almost as if she had been crying all day. As she unfolded the note, tears began to run down her face." Alf interrupted Kimirou. "Wait where is the warning?" Kimirou continued.

"She began to read the note. 'Mother I do apologize as I know you are grieving. I warned you both that this will happen. I warned you that if father did anything to harm Miru I would kill him. I warned you I would be watch over my brother. Father did not heed my warning and therefore he had to pay. Of course, I was praised for this by my fellow faction mates due to that being one less gambler to get in our way. However, ultimately I am filled with sadness for you and my brother."

Kimirou paused to take a breath and whip his tears. "By that time tears were down my face as I remembered only two days before. My father was training me. He had the ability to manipulate solid matter. He already figured that I would follow in his footsteps since most of my toys had to be thrown away due to being covered in ice. Well, I was tired and could not train anymore. I fell to my knees in exhaustion. My father became angry and walked over to me. He demanded I get up and continue with training but all I could do was expressed my being tired. In result my father slapped me, causing me to fall to the ground unconscious. I awoke still outside about 20 minutes later with no injuries and fully rejuvenated. When I sat up I noticed a box next to me with a bow around it." Alf once again interjected. "What was in the box?"

Kimirou smiled tears still running from his eyes. "A board game that I loved playing with my brother. It utilized dice. I realized that the night when my brother left that even though he was with another faction he would always take care of me. That is also the reason I have no problem with fighting along side another faction. However, I have always held a grudge against my brother. He left me and he joined another faction. Until last night when I woke up, I hadn't seen my brother in about 16 years."

During that conversation, Kimirou didn't notice that Torii had awakened. She was staring out of the window as Kimirou finished the story. She interrupted. "I see that you aren't the only one awake and moving around considering the thief just entered the room next to us through the window." After hearing her voice Alf quickly opened the door, eyes big and sparkling. "Torii aren't you a breeze of fresh air?" Alf let go of the doorknob and began to walk towards here with his eyes closed and his arms out. Alf ran into the window and turned around to find Torii looking into the hallway. "Where did Kimirou go?" She asked. "He was just behind the door...." He answered. Torri gasped as she gazed at the door that was flat against the wall. As she pulled it away she angrily spoke. "Did you just smash him between the door and the wall?" Before he could react to Torii's comment a message came across Alf's earpiece. It was Rico speaking about the soul stealer's arrival. He then noticed Kimirou was missing once the wall behind the door was fully revealed. "We have to find him," Alf demanded. "Right" Torii agreed. With that they vanished, both roaming the halls of the infirmary in different directions.

Venom watched as Leandra sated her thirst with her flask. Her hostility was textbook definition of keeping others at arms length so they weren't getting to close. Venom now wished more than anything that he had been able to break into the personnel files and seen what the hospital had on her history. He had seen a few of the other candidates at the Thieves faction act similarly. Most of them kept the other students away and brooded to themselves, a lot of thieves weren't quite as lucky as Lucas and his upbringing.

Venom simply shrugged and took another draft from his own flask. Leandra didn't seem to be the type to ask questions, a huge difference between Assassins and the Thieves. Assassins didn't like to ask questions, learn about who it was they were killing. Get in, kill the target, get out. At least that is what he had always been taught while in school. Though he had never actually met an Assassin before now, Leandra was not proving what he had always heard false. Venom looked from his flask to the Assassin in the silence and sighed. "Allez, Je commence à m'ennuyer. This place is so boring.'' Not seconds after Venom finished speaking something outside perked his ears and Venom walking over to the door a bit slower. He reached the door and put an ear to the door. He smiled as he turned back to Leandra, "Dieu merci, it sounds as if we have something interesting going on outside." He placed his ear back to the door and continued to listen to the voices outside.

Darious shot him a sideways glance and chuckled “Dear messenger, I did not sense you per say, at least not up here anyway. The wind has betrayed your presence to me; nothing more."

“Oh that’s right, You’re specialty is wind combat is it not?” It was more a statement then a question really.

Darious’ eyes narrowed slightly at the smugness of the messenger before replying

“I See you’ve taken the liberty of pulling my file. I don’t know if I should be excited, or dismayed.”

They were silent for a moment. Each one observing the other. Darious had no idea what Rico was thinking. during that silence but Rico was the first to break it. “Perfect I expect a full report by tomorrow.” He insisted before moving towards the edge for the roof and sitting down.

“A report?” queried Darious. “Since when do I report to you? It’ll never work out you know, I’m terrible with paperwork. I may just forget everything I have learned by tomorrow who knows?” he threw his arms up into a shrug.

“So it would seem.” He responded, “I’m not at liberty to give someone of your rank any more information regarding the matter. It’s above your pay grade.” He finished looking at his watch. “But what I can tell you is that we have the Omada poking around trying to get answers. Their efforts have been unsuccessful, but that doesn’t mean they won’t keep trying. I was sent here to ensure one of them doesn’t get to you.”

Darious waved his hand in dismissal “I don’t really care about the Harbingers or their plans for that matter. To be honest with you. I am more concerned with the here...and the now messenger. All this talk of harbingers and their hum drum hoopla gives me a terrible headache.” he finished with a sigh.

But Rico had stopped listening and was now on his feet once more, looking over the edge of the roof curiously.

The pirate watched irritably for a moment but once he saw the color leave Rico’s face, he moved to the ledge himself just as the messenger relayed a message to whoever via his earpiece. It took several moments for the messenger to compose himself forcing Darious to wait impatiently. Finally he spoke

“Say how good are you at creating diversions?Things are about to get real interesting around here and between the two of us we may be the only ones able to bide time until a Hiringu squad mate gets here.”

“A distraction you say? I take it your people have issues with the likes of that blonde haired creepy looking guy down there? My fortunes this guy has no taste! Where’s his style, where’s the panache? Such a bland looking individual!”

“He is after the graduates, I am certain that he has been sent to extract whatever information they have gained from this battle. They will not stand a chance in their weakened conditions”

The pirate’s sword was a whisper as it slid from its scabbard. The world around him seem to blur away until all he could see, all he could focus on was this man. this Soul Stealer Rico had so named him over the radio.

“You have no idea who that man is you fool! he is not to be trifled with!” Rico spat through clenched teeth, but Darious had not heard him clearly through his focus. The words were muffled and quiet as though a thousand miles away as opposed to right beside him.

The wind around them stirred as Darious’ tapped his soul essence It was a fluid dance of circular movements and as his soul essence rose so did the wind a sif the two were merging into one. Rico was forced to cover his face in the moments prior to the execution of the pirates attack and he felt the violent winds leave the rooftop as Darious redirected them down the tip of his blade. Three consecutive strikes amidst the pirate’s circular dance. They all struck the ground surrounding the Soul Eater forcing lighter debris and stones to rise in a thick cloud dust. But Darious was not finished yet. He sheathed his blade and drew both pistols from their holsters taking aim and firing two shots into the ground a few feet in front of the Soul Stealer

“Are You fucking nuts man?” Rico shouted. “That’s the damn Soul Stealer down there“ he blabbered pointing toward the ground in a frantic stabbing motion. A sheen of sweat covering his face. “He’s going to kill us both thanks to you”

“You said make a distraction”

“I didn’t mean like that you psycho!”

“Well you should have been more specific you dumb ass!”

“Gods where did they find you? a lunatic asylum?”

“Yeah! they walked in on me porking your sister during visiting hours, didn’t you hear?”

“You bastard!”

Darious didn’t even have time to react before Rico slammed into him. The two men barreled towards the edge of the roof.

“We’re on a roof you idiot” was all the pirate could manage before they slipped over the ledge and tumbled ass over head towards the ground with a scream.

The hunter managed to untangle himself from Rico mid flight and with a grunt he drew his sword watching the ground leaping up towards them at an alarming rate.

“You’re absolutely hopeless Rico!” he roared over the deafening winds. A violent spike of soul essence and an equally violent upwards arch of the sword then the two men were met with a forceful gust of wind. Once it struck them they scattered with the impact. Rico managed to land in a smelly dumpster full of soggy garbage and who knew what else, while Darious ungracefully bounced off the hood of a parked car and slammed into the ground with a thud.

Darious flopped onto his back with a groan then rolled his head from side to side several times to catch himself while managing a satisfied grin at the sound of Rico retching from inside the dumpster. A few moments later the messenger emerged from the garbage. He was out of breath and bleeding a bit, but at least he was alive. He turned from the two men and retched once more before recovering. With much effort, the pirate dragged himself to his feet and levelled his gaze on the Soul Stealer, then casually began dusting himself off as if every muscle in his body were not screaming in pain with every movement he made.

The Soul Stealer

A strange man materialized out of the light that surrounded the area. He had long blonde hair that ran about mid level of his back. A well-carved mask on the right side of his face. Delicate pale colored skin and sterling gray colored eyes that seem to look right through the soul. He looked around his surroundings a bit to get a good feel of the terrain he was on. This guy was the strategic mind of the group. They called him the soul stealer and is also known as Omada Vishuddi (Blue). He didn't play any games, waste any time, or play with his prey. This guy meant business. He usually doesn't get sent on these types of mission often, but what the Omada found warranted for them to send a hunter of his caliber to get the job done.

*Press Play* Another clap of thunder rang out in the sky lightning flashing behind him. He looked up to see the clouds were rolling back in as the time rolled just after 12 pm. He chuckled then smiled little, "This is gonna be fun." He mumbled returning his gaze to the entrance. He took note of activity of the front entrance. He noticed it was less active than any other time. This signaled precious cargo was inside and they have rerouted any incoming emergencies to the Infirmaries in other locations. Secret of course. Another detail he paid attention to was the fact that the infirmary looked as if it were secured. This could only mean the staff personnel was unavailable leaving the medics to tend to the wounded. "How unfortunate." He thought to himself. He then brought his hands about chest level. Following that, he took his index and middle finger on both hands then crossed them, folding down the remaining fingers. Finally, he brought the crossed finger together creating a cross. He then extended the cross out a few centimeters and then chillingly uttered the phrase, "Noi̱mosýni̱ Base, aktíno̱n ch. (Act-tee-non. He.)" His hoarse voice sounded. At that moment, his vision instantly switched to an x-ray like vision causing him to see through the walls of the infirmary. While in this vision, he could see the light registers of soul essence and koumpi in the infirmary with the Koumpi of the graduates and messengers being distinctive. This was a great advantage for him because that way he didn't have to waste time looking for the graduates, he could just go right for them. The only downfall to this ability was that he could only see as far as two walls ahead of him.

One strange thing he saw was that puzzled him was an essence that belonged to a few Hirudo. This was odd because being that this was a council owned hospital and not a regular one, it should have a barrier that wards off Hirudo from even accessing this place. After he gathered the information he needed he closed his eyes for a moment and reopened them gaining his regular vision. He smiled, disbanded the cross, and placed his hand to a device around his neck. He pressed the button on the device and spoke, "Well...well, seems like an easy task. A few code violations that were unsettling. You guys should have even taken this long." He radioed to the other Omada in the building. Dye heard the transmission whilst he was with the nurse. His eyes widened with excitement, "Oh so you finally decided to show up. Believe it or not those messengers are quite persistent." He responded sounding as if he were out of breath. The man chuckled ominously, "That won't be a problem any longer. Gnats die by the clap of a hand." He began to proceed for the entrance, "We'll be home by sundown." He finished. @babyjoker36610 @FrontLine @DergTheDergon

While he was walking toward the door, he felt a spike in soul essence which instinctively made him unsheathed his sword by the ring connected to the hilt. Then came an attack that annoyingly kicked up debris and rocks. Following the attack, the man began to spin the sword with no effort causing the cloud of debris to clear. He walked through it as if he never stopped walking. Well, this was short lived because another attack came his way in the form of bullets that hit the ground. In the ground, one could see the soul essence residue emanating from the holes they created upon impact. He kindly walked around the hole swinging his sword over it to resheathed it. When he did that the blade pulled whatever residue was left. As if nothing happened, he continued toward the entrance listening to the bickering between the two hunters. He rolled his eyes in irritation as they sounded like a married couple, "Childish." He mumbled passing the fountain just before the foyer entrance. He didn't come to fight just was trying to get information. Although if the conditions are met he will have to resort to alternative methods. @Affili

Tobias heard the transmission whilst he was dealing with the messenger who had just returned. He also heard Dye's response and how it sounded. He already knew what he was doing. Dye always called it getting information. After listening to the last transmission, Tobias' eyes pitifully fell upon the young messenger and his whole demeanor changed as if someone flipped a light switch. Hearing her remark, he snickered, "Want me to count or will you? You must have forgotten your place messenger," His voice becoming more serious, "Orders are orders I get that, but The Omada can override any orders given to anyone besides the Knight whores, the Hiringu, and the Council." He leaned in a little, "As Omada Manipura (Yellow) and Slayer rank I am respectively asking you to stand down Messenger." He finished with complete seriousness radiating off his voice. @Lioness075 @zCrookedz

As Sora hid planning his next move he felt a sudden spike in soul essence, sounded like some heavy business was going down. Sora began to creep along the shadows of the hallway using True Concealment to hide from all perception. Sora found Josef in the waiting room holding Sora's gear, must've been insuring Sora would come find him but at least he sat in the darkest corner of the room. Sora sat down and released his concealment and quickly rested his gear from Josef's hands. Josef jump right to business "Okay the Hiringu squad is taking longer then we expected. We have a Soul Stealer likely upon us and the Omada may be growing impatient. We have to take action. Can you move?"

Sora looked at Josef like he had ten heads. "Well my regenerative healing only goes this slow when I am low on soul essence. Unless that stuff is replenished I won't be able to fight very well. But I heard each hospital has at least one Hiringu stationed at them all the time. Maybe if we could find that one Hiringu I could get my Soul Essence replenished and then go aid the others. " Josef activated his messenger device and spoke over it to the Unit Leader. "Sir do have any idea where the single stationed Hiringu may be sir?"

Leandra was more than pleased when Venom didn't push it and try to ask her more questions. Taking note of this, Leandra wondered if she should just permanently give him the silent treatment. If it kept him away, then so be it. Granted, Leandra was actually getting increasingly lonely and depressed as time passed, but she refused to let anyone in. She'd tried that once before. Never again. She wouldn't make the same mistake twice.

As Leandra and Venom sat there in silence, Leandra decided to shakily take another swig of her flask before letting out a subtle sigh, mostly due to the pain she was now feeling in her chest from her attempt to punch Venom moments ago. Maybe not one of her best ideas and now she was suffering for it. Hearing Venom's French again, Leandra rolled her eyes and couldn't think of anything to say in response when he complained about this place being boring. It was a hospital, what was he expecting? When voices could be heard just beyond the door to Leandra's room, she watched as Venom crept over and placed his ear against the door. Being physically incapable of moving over to listen as well, Leandra annoyingly had to rely on whatever information Venom conveyed to her. Gritting her teeth for a moment, Leandra then evenly asked Venom, "What do you hear?"

Just outside Leandra's room, Iskra found her patience dropping to ground zero. Listening to everything the Omada said, Iskra promptly replied while also casually shrugging, "Well, I did say you only had three seconds. Not my fault that you wasted them talking about nothing I care about." That being said, Iskra then took the lid off of her coffee and promptly took one step towards the Omada, bringing her just close enough, as she then quickly lurched forward to let the coffee splash all over the chest of the Omada. The moment she did this, Iskra, thanks to her small figure, immediately weaved around the Omada and quickly moved to the door to open it. Except when she tried to the door handle...it didn't open. Flabbergasted by this, Iskra's eyes widened and she couldn't help herself, as she exclaimed, "The door is locked!" The moment these words left her mouth, Iskra whipped around, as she now had to face the no doubt angered Omada thanks to whoever had locked the door to Leandra's room. Was her Hunter in danger? Glaring at the Omada, Iskra then said angrily, "What did you do to my Hunter? Why can't I get in there!"

Venom sat there for a moment as he listened to the two outside go back and forth. He did not like the sound of what this Omada character was saying outside. He wondered if this person was some how connected with the other he had overheard talking to the nurse earlier, or even possibly the soul stealer. He turned back to Leandra when he heard her speak he placed a finger to his lips smiling "It would seem your messenger has returned and there is a very unpleasant man outside."

As he sat there listening to the commotion, there were some very peculiar sounds that he couldn't quite place, a scuffling sound, then the door handle began to shake violently. Venom placed a hand on the door and bent over in silent laughter. He turned back to Leandra, wiping a tear from his eye. He put a finger up and cleared his throat. His face became very stern and serious all of the sudden. He wanted Leandra to be able to see the face he was going to give the Omada since she couldn't move.

Venom turned back to the door and with a quick motion he unlocked the door and flew it open. He looked from the Messenger to the Omada, his face stern and serious. He placed a hand on the messengers shoulder and without a single change to his expression he looked at the Omada and said
"Bonjour.." Before the Omada had time to react to anything, Venom yanked the messenger backwards into the room, pulling the door shut with incredible speed and swiftly replacing the lock.

As soon as the door was secured, Venom began to die of laughter. Gasping for air through his laughter Venom muttered "
Ça, c’est marrant! Did you see the look on his face?"

@Lioness075 @OwlOne

Leandra's curiosity was piqued when Venom mentioned her messenger, Iskra, being just outside her room along with someone else. Who was out there with Iskra? Was Iskra in danger? Frowning, Leandra tried to push herself up into more of a sitting position than she already was, but instead let out a quiet gasp, as she realized the stitches in her chest were indeed a bit torn and messed up Especially as more pain spiked through her chest. Sighing, Leandra settled back down with her back slumped against the bedrest. Glancing down at her shirt, Leandra furrowed her brow, as blood was beginning to slightly stain her T-shirt. Great.

Hearing the doorknob shaking harshly, Leandra swiftly shifted her gaze to the door and Venom, narrowing her eyes, as she wondered who exactly was trying to get inside right now. Was it Iskra? Seeing Venom laughing quietly and wiping a tear from his eye, Leandra scowled and was about to say something when Venom put a finger to his lips. Rolling her eye when Venom changed his composure to a more serious one, Leandra then asked him quietly, "Do you ever take anything seriously?" Based on what Leandra was hearing, this was hardly the time to be messing around and having fun. Not that Leandra had really had much fun for a while now. In fact, her humor had basically died off over the years. She often made a mockery of people and was smartass, but she didn't usually do it with the intention of being humorous.

Watching Venom carefully, Leandra's eye widened when he suddenly unlocked and yanked the door open just in time to pull Iskra inside and lock it once again after making his actions into more of a performance than anything else. Iskra had not at all been expecting for another Hunter to be in the room with Leandra, so when Mr. Lefluer suddenly opened the door and pulled her inside without much of an explanation, she whipped around angrily only to find Lucas laughing over his own antics and the Omada's angry expression that he'd seen. Furrowing her brows at the Hunter while Leandra silently glared at Venom for his antics, Iskra then said,
"Mr. Lefluer, what in the world are you doing in Ms. Sinciato's room? Where is your messenger?" Feeling exasperated now, Iskra then threw her arms in the air and exclaimed, "We were both looking for you!" Rolling her eye, Leandra then muttered from her bed, "Something tells me he's not good at following anyone's orders or any rules for that matter."

Anuli was almost on the floor where the intruder was when he heard Rico call out on the earpiece of his findings. Anuli stopped about on the fourth to the last step up to take in what he just heard. "What the hell is Rico doing here," He thought to himself. He contemplated rather to go on ahead being that Kehinde was being guarded by his fellow faction mates or go see about the intruder. Anuli shook his head realizing it was a silly thought. Instead of running back, he dispersed into a cloud of smoke reappearing just down the hall.

He ran over to the room to bring Kehinde and his faction mates the news and to his surprise Kehinde met him at the door. Anuli's eyes widened seeing the guy posted up on the wall reading. "
Y...you're moving? Get back in bed! What do you th...." Kehinde pulled a red silk like string from another page and brought it over to the other, "Did you know that in order to still have offspring from their deceased husband, Egyptian women would," He interrupted chuckled closing the book, "Ahh I don't want to bore you with my heritage," He remarked, placing the book back on the neatly made bed, "I come from a lineage of Kings and Queens, Gods and Goddesses. They've had worse ailments than that of mine and were still able to run the like of their Kingdom. Well, right now my Kingdom is myself. The only way to heal my Kingdom is by working hard not to allow it to go under again. I don't have time to sit around and do nothing. That's the heart of an Akachi." He avowed with conviction. Anuli stood there a moment and shook his head, "I blame your father. Hell, I've only met the guy briefly and can tell you have the guys blood surging through your veins."

Anuli walked over and looked out the window to see if he could locate the soul stealer, "
Where are your faction mates?" He asked. Kehinde walked from the bed over to the door still wincing from lingering pain from his cuts and bruises, "Out securing exits for my escape route." He nonchalantly observed. Anuli shot his head over in shock, "Say what?! You can't just leave." He returned. "Oh but I can my dear messenger." He opened the door gesturing for Anuli, "If I'm not mistaken, the Omada are poking around and you are supposed to ward them off. Well why go through all that trouble when we can just get out of here and not have to deal with them." He spoke honeying up his voice. Little did Anuli know, Kehinde was actually trying to manipulate him into going along with what he was doing. A simple illusion he would call it, but very complex in nature his mother would argue. Anuli mindlessly listened to the hypnotizing sound of his voice. It seemed as if his plans were being pushed back to the dark crevices of his mind and being replaced by new ones. He never felt this strange before but all of a sudden he felt the need to assist in the efforts of the graduates plan.

Before Anuli could react, Kehinde was lightly pulling on him, "
Good glad you see it my way." It took Anuli about a whole 20 minutes to realize Kehinde just made an ass out of him. As the two were making their way down the hall, they ran past the room of another graduate. Anuli recognized it as his fellow messenger Nicky and was going to stop in for a small chat, but didn't have the time. Kehinde then stopped Anuli with his arm when he noticed one of the hunters from the gambler faction was roaming the hallway. "What the hell is he doing in the freaking hallway like that." He whispered looking over his shoulder at Anuli. Anuli shrugged in confusion, "Not sure but if he doesn't watch it he is surely gonna get caught." He responded. "Psssssssst!" Kehinde went trying to get the attention of the other graduate, "Hey dude get out of the hallway!" He whispered. Anuli went upside Kehinde's head, and whispered lacing his voice with sarcasm, "Gee I don't think he heard you. Maybe you should speak up." He glared. Kehinde almost retaliated with a punch, but held his composure.[/border]

Roaming the halls of the infirmary, Kimirou searched for answers to fill the memories he no longer had. He felt that if Tal nor Alf would give him the answers, he would find the answers elsewhere. Once he turned down his third hallway he stopped for a moment to look around. His search was interrupted by a scream from behind him. "Pssssssssssssst. Hey dude, get out of the hallway." Kimirou quickly turned around and noticed the scout from before the Terostios fight. Standing next to him was what seemed like another messenger like Alf. 'Shit, I've been spotted.' He thought to himself. His next thought told him to run for it. However his thought were interrupted by a voice in his head. "Child that is a friend, not foe. You should go and find out what they know." The voice had somehow convinced Kimirou to just do that. Of course, he didn't want to be seen arguing with himself. People would think he was crazy.

Kimirou quickly walked towards them, sizing them both up as he did. Once he made it down the hall, he was the first to speak. "Names Kimirou of the Asura Clan. Gambler's the faction but enough about me. I know you are of the scouts so you are probably the best to ask. Do you know why we are here? Better yet what happened yesterday? I mean one minute I was holding the Terostios' head back and the next thing I know is I'm here." Kimirou then paused for a moment and realized something. "Wait what are you doing out here?" He then looked over to the messenger. "Aren't you supposed to keep him in his room and away from the Omada?" Just that quick Kimirou had completely forgotten that he was out of his room as well but what was worse is that his messenger didn't even know where he was. @Newtype

"Sora conceal yourself till we find the Hiringu." Josef said in response. Sora nodded then went back into True Concealment. Josef then replied to Alf "He can actually heal faster if his soul essence is replenished, the graduates have a better chance while they're not sitting ducks. The omada are stepping up their game which means we should too. If I send him back to his room it'll only be a matter of time before he is found. Not to mention as I see you're nowhere close to your assignment you knkw wel as I do the second he is in his room he is just going to take off without me. Do you know where the stationed Hiringu office is? They should have something there if they're not there themselves."

Sora glanced at the door at the thought of the Soul Stealer just being right outside waitng to forcibly extract information from the graduates. Maybe I could use my awakening and give that Soul Stealer some of his own medicine. Why aren't the damn Hiringu here yet they are taking long as hell? Why can't these stupid Omada back off till we are all healed.

Nicky paced nervously around the rather small locked room, frequently glancing out into the hallway through the section of glass above the door handle, and out the window for good measure, while she listened intently to her headset. She felt a sudden spike in soul essence from just outside the hospital, and hastily looked out the window. She just barely caught a glimpse of Rico being flung into a nearby dumpster, and one of the Pirate graduates tumbling down a car. Vienna stood up, a little wobbly but successfully, and asked Nikki what was going on. "It's him... the soulstealer... those couple of idiots seemed to think they could take him... as you can probably tell, he doesn't even think them worth killing... for a Hunter, he seems to think less of other humans than Hirudos at times..." The soulstealer himself turned towards the building and started walking in. Upon seeing his face, Nicky turned away from the window abruptly, met with a quizzical look from Vienna. "I-it's nothing. I should be focusing on keeping you safe anyway, especially since he's officially arrived..."

Nicky stepped over to check the hallway again, and as Vienna was about to pry further, a strange voice in Vienna's head spoke up again. 'There is no use asking what's on her mind, it is the type of secret one keeps from revealing at all costs, the type all Shadows keep... besides, you're clever, you'll understand what about her quite doesn't match up soon enough.' Although its words were vague, they rang very true to Vienna, and she remained silent. Suddenly, Nicky noticed a familiar face pass by as she peered out into the hallway... Anuli. Strange, he was following someone else... one of the injured graduates?! Nicky hastily unlocked the door and peeked outside into the hallway, witnessing a commotion as a second loose graduate tried to explain himself. "Alright... what the hell is going on here? Anuli, why aren't you dragging Kehinde's ass back to his room? And you, gambler, you shouldn't be out here alone either... especially not with who just arrived."

Darious stared at the Soul Stealer curiously wondering why he was truly so dreaded by Rico. The man did carry a strange foreboding air about him but what was so wrong about seeking information about the Teristos fight. More importantly why were the Omada being met with so much resistance during this whole thing. Orders were orders though, and despite his own instincts, he had agreed to cooperate with the council on this matter.

The fall into the dumpster had left Rico sore and covered with lacerations forcing him to curse profusely for several minutes as he picked old spaghetti and trash from his clothes. Eventually the messenger was able to compose himself. He met the Soul Stealer's eyes with an icy glare that was almost convincing from what Darious could see.The messenger had clearly been nervous at first but since their fall, he had grown more confident for some reason.

"Soul Stealer, by Authority of the Twelve Knights you are ordered to withdraw from this location immediately" The messenger's voice was firm with resolve but Darious was still uncertain if it was all still an act "Please leave quietly" the messenger finished.

At some point during the exchange, Darious had removed his pistols from their holsters and had leveled them on the Soul Stealer. He didn't even remember pulling them free, but then again, it had been a rough landing and the pirate was still shaking off the brutal impact

Only two ways it was going to go from this point. The Soul Stealer would either leave without incident, or try to plow right through them to get to the graduates holed up inside the infirmary with the other messengers as their only line of defense. Terrible odds indeed. Whatever back up was on route tot he hospital needed to get their quickly.

The Omada

As Dye redressed himself, he winked at the girl, "You were great, but I've had better." He smiled buttoning up the last button. He then quickly opened the door and whisked himself outside closing the door rapidly behind him. Once he was sure it was closed he continued down the hallway. As he approached the upcoming intersection, he heard a familiar voice.

Upon turning the corner, he greeted them, "Speaking of the Devil," He curiously smiled looking over at the messenger, "Whilst you are worried about them you should be worrying about yourself Nicole." He then walked over and rested his right shoulder against the wall facing the doorway, he leaned his head forward only inches away from Nicky's face. In a whisper like fashion he expressed, "Gosh its been a long time." With a smile, he threw a look over to the other three hunters, "Well look what we have here. Talk about excellent timing." He then brought his hand up to his ear, "I've stumbled upon a few hunters. One of which is quite a shocking surprise." He hinted looking over at Nicky. @DergTheDergon @FrontLine @babyjoker36610

Tobias stood there pretending the coffee had burned him. Before he knew it, a graduate had open the door and pulled the messenger out of his way. As he was about to react, he heard Dye radio in his findings, "Well, I have two held up inside." He responded. With that, Tobias unbuttoned his uniform with irritation. *Press Play* Although he was irritated, one wouldn't be able to tell because that just how he was. You never knew what was to follow with him, that’s why he was chosen as an Omada. He reached down into the pocket of the uniform and pulled out 3 ball like contraptions. He chuckled a bit, "Amateurs." He remarked before kneeling down and rolling the completely invisible balls under the door. Nobody has ever known what they were or what they did. When ever he activated them they just took care of what was needed. He stood back up and squared up the door, he brought his hands together interlocking them. Once he did so, he began to twiddle his thumbs resembling the roll of a ball. After a few rolls of his thumbs, he shot both the thumbs up in opposite directions revealing an interlocked open palm facing him. When he did so, he mumbled the words, "Noi̱mosýni̱ Doe....Anonymi."

As soon as he stated those words, the ball began to release a scentless and invisible vapor into the air like that of carbon monoxide. This vapor was laced with a hallucinogenic. The other version of this technique which was not used is an instant kill tool the Omada use to clear out a room. Breaking his hands apart, he lightly placed his hands on the door, and began to slowly raise his soul essence in a way it was undetectable. Doing this he began to raise the temperature within the room. @zCrookedz @Lioness075

The soul stealer was almost toward the door when he heard the transmission of both Omada. He was about to respond when he heard a voice call out to him halting him within his tracks. In front of him stood the messenger by the name of Rico. The man looked up at him with his sterling gray eyes, "By authority of the knights huh?" He chillingly mumbled raising his soul essence in a way that saturated the air making it feel as if the air was charged with electricity and fading away, "That's funny because I was sent here on behalf the twelve knights myself." He finished reappearing just behind Rico. This visibly caused the hair on his head to raise as if he just rubbed it with a balloon. "Get your facts straight Messenger. I outrank you." He smiled winking at the pirate that was to right of him. He continued his advance toward the hospital literally a few feet from the door. "I apologize. I'm meeting a bit of resistance myself. Remember don't take no for an answer." He spoke into the device around his neck. @Affili

Suddenly, Nicky heard footsteps coming from just around the corner. Turning her head that direction, her eyes widened. Shit! That bastard always had impeccable timing, she thought. 'Speaking of the devil', indeed. Not only was he waltzing up to them without a goddamn care in the world, but he just alluded to extremely classified information in front of a couple of graduates, not to mention calling her by a name she'd rather never hear anymore. She narrowed her eyes and scowled at him. A single, grudgingly spoken word, "Dye," was her only answer. It's both his name, and can be interpreted as what she really wish he'd just do, as soon as possible. It was very, very tempting to attack him, right then and there... but she knew that's what he wanted. Rash actions screwed her over once, it can do it again... in a potentially more lethal manner.

Keeping her cool, she deftly locked the door as still stood in the open doorway, before giving Vienna a quick gesture to stay put and closing the door as quickly as possible, leaning against it afterwards. Nicky listened as Dye radioed in, and rolled her eyes. "'Shocking surprise?' You're just as funny as I remember," Nicky said sarcastically as she concentrated, her soul energy rising as visible sparks of electricity ran down her arms and into her hands as if she was some kind of conduit, forming solid electrical orbs in her open palms, crackling with energy. 'If you take one more goddamn step towards those graduates, I'll show you a shocking surprise! You with me, Anuli?" She asked, turning to the other messenger in question. Vienna stepped up to the door and looked out, gripping her Scythe in one hand and keeping her other hand near the deadbolt, preparing to take action if she deems it necessary. "Careful, young Shadow... do not tempt fate," chimed the voice again. It was frankly starting to bother her... but she doubted Koumpi have a mute button, unfortunately. @FrontLine @OwlOne

Rico didn't flinch at the essence spike even though he wanted to. Even more so once the Soul Stealer vanished, only to reappear just behind him. He really had not wanted to engage the Soul Stealer from the beginning and the fact the other man had yet to engage Rico all added to his considerations. But the fact that he now claimed he was also there on behalf of the Knights made him even more hesitant. It could very well be a lie. But at the same time it could also prove to shed some light on a few things still looming in the shadows.

He moved in front of the Soul Stealer once more.

"My actual rank in comparison to yours is of little relevance in this matter Soul Stealer. I have received my orders directly from the Fourth Knight stating that you are not to be granted access to the graduates at this time. Thus I am acting under his full authority until such a time as the orders are updated by the fourth himself, or someone higher than him." He paused for a moment, casually smoothing his hair back down then continued.

"I'll ask you again to please leave quietly"

Darious' trigger fingers were twitching now since the Soul Stealer had winked at him. He truly wanted to fire both pistols at the man's face right now but Rico had given no indication of hostility towards this Soul Stealer yet. He seemed to be going through all protocol before actually engaging but given the strength of the Soul Stealer's essence spike just then, Darious couldn't imagine the fight lasting very long should the current situation escalate.
