Everyone's fighting some battle of their own.
Falarion amusingly watched the reactions he got from everyone over his questions, more so amused by how upset Zoe seemed to get, well, flustered really.
As BB seemingly exploded yet again with excitement, Falarion glanced to the side to see Bael, who had quietly walked up to join the small group in the gardens. Didn't Bael and Zoe have a thing or something? Falarion hadn't really been paying that much attention to the two, but he had noticed them spending some time together here and there.
When Barry found his ball again, Falarion wagged his tail quite a bit while barking at the mute boy, "Thanks, Barry, you're a lifesaver! Phew, I would've sweat a bucket if I hadn't found that thing."
Granted, Barry hadn't literally saved his life so that was a bit dramatic for him to say. Maybe Zoe was beginning to rub off on him a bit.
Limping up to his ball, Falarion sniffed at it before making a face.
"It's all covered in dirt and grass now. I don't really want to eat either of those things. I'm not like a cat that loves to eat grass and then throw it back up."
Hearing Zoe greet Bael made Falarion raise an eyebrow and curiously tilt his head to the side. If the boy had wandered off to do his own thing for a bit, why would Zoe think he was trying to avoid her? Then again, she was one for dramatics. At the mention of heartbreak, Falarion merely shook his head before nudging his ball around a bit with his nose, still feeling disdained at how dirty it was now.
As Eos made his appearance and mentioned a debrief, Falarion's head shot up and he gave a goofy grin before exclaiming, "A debrief!? We're going on another mission, finally!"
Wagging his tail yet again, Falarion almost ran after Zoe, but stopped short when he looked back at his ball once more. Maybe someone could carry it for him until he could get Manjano to help him clean it later?

Leandra was thoroughly amused at Alec's response to her mock threat about the stitching, though she inwardly wished he'd just told her about it after they'd gotten back to HQ. Leandra had felt like a complete failure and not at all like a teammate after that mission since she'd done nothing helpful and the captured baddie had proven to have no viable information for them to use. Fixing the stitching in Alec's shoulder would've given her, at least, some comfort in knowing she wasn't completely useless.
And with those thoughts in mind, Leandra's mood soon became a bit dampened, only to further dampen, as her teasing had clearly gone overboard and she didn't get the best reactions from Alec nor Xiao at this rate.
Keeping a feigned grin on her face to keep up the facade of being relaxed and having fun, Leandra easily hid her dampened mood as she even faked a giggle at their reactions and then rolled her eyes at Alec's remark about what she'd insinuated about his alone time with Xiao after their last mission.
"It's just a joke, dude. I don't actually mean that. Loosen up some, will ya?"
As Xiao whispered to Leandra to ease on the teasing, Leandra's expression faltered for a second before she relaxed and grinned again.
Luness was tense on Leandra's shoulder though, as she could feel some of Leandra's conflicting feelings swirling about in her mind. Usually when these kind of situations presented themselves, Leandra would struggle to get any proper sleep that night.
While Leandra thought Alec's final reaction was a bit cute, she had gotten to the point now where she didn't really feel like teasing anyone anymore and simply shrugged at Alec's doctor comments. This wasn't really that much fun anymore.
Hearing Xiao's voice wavering at the mention of being Alec's patient and all, Leandra quickly understood that instead of having some fun time with the two and encouraging them to get closer, she'd seemingly put a splinter in their relationship, as the two were now stiff as boards and couldn't even make eye contact with each other. Considering how Alec had quickly brushed aside all comments about the two being anything other than friends or patient and doctor, Leandra knew she'd made a mistake. Great.
Furrowing her brows at the two, Leandra opened her mouth to apologize since she'd clearly made things worse between the two instead of better, but Amber quickly made her appearance and announced a debrief.
Of course, Alec quickly excused himself without a second thought and was seemingly gone in a blink of an eye.
Before Leandra could even really get in a word with Xiao, the girl too seemed to disappear in a blink of an eye, though she did compliment Leandra one more time. Clearly, she was, at least, trying to cover up how she was feeling unlike Alec, who made it pretty clear that he was uncomfortable with the situation.
Sighing to herself, Leandra didn't bother saying anything to anyone else in the gym, as she simply exited and headed straight to her room.
Luness kept quiet until they were in Leandra's room and the door was shut.
"Lea, you didn't know that would happen."
Scowling at this, Leandra soon began rummaging through her dresser for a fresh pair of clothes while Luness flew over to Leandra's bed and landed on it.
"No, Lune, I should've known better. Those two have barely gotten to know each other so far. I mean, we've all only been together for a few weeks, maybe a month now. They're clearly not as close as I mistakenly thought and I've probably just pissed all over their potential relationship with my poor choice of words."
Looking worriedly at Leandra, Luness was about to say something when Leandra silently entered her bathroom and shut the door behind her before Luness could get another word in.
The shower soon was heard, as Leandra closed her eyes while the water ran through her hair and over her body, one of the few soothing things left in the world for Leandra. Normally, she'd love to sing in the shower, but her soured mood kept her from doing so.
As Luness waited for Leandra to start singing, she quickly realized that wasn't going to happen and so she settled down on the bed before softly singing (just loud enough for Leandra to hear over the shower, though).

"She just wants to be, beautiful. She goes, unnoticed she knows, no limits. She craves, attention she praises, an image. She prays to be, sculpted by the sculptor. Oh, she don't see, the light that's shining. Deeper than the eyes can find it. Maybe we have made her blind. So she tries to cover up her pain, and cut her woes away. Cause covergirls don't cry, after their face is made..."
Continuing through the song with the exact same voice as the artist thanks to her mimicry skill, Luness soon finished the song and paused uncertainly, as she waited for some kind of response from Leandra even though she could still hear the shower running.
As the steam fogged up the mirror in the bathroom, Leandra could feel the tears rolling down her face despite having water already cascading against her face and body.
The song wasn't entirely meant for just this one occasion, as it brought out deeper emotions in Leandra and had a tendency to, in a sense, bring her back to reality and back to the moment.
About ten more minutes passed before Leandra exited the bathroom, her hair pulled back into a small ponytail while her clothes were simple. A white tank top with some domesticated cat species on it, that also happened to be wearing a fedora very casually, with some wording above it, 'Rawr!'. She wore some black jeans, though a hole was noticeably torn in her right knee area of the jeans. It was hard to tell if it was bought this way or got damaged at some point, though. To top it all off, Leandra was wearing her old, rather beat-up black converse as well.
Smiling ever so faintly at Luness, Leandra muttered a quiet, "Thank you, Lune" before exiting her room.
Luness silently flew after Leandra and had to double back a few times since Leandra was walking so slowly. Since she wasn't wearing any clothing to cover up her shoulders entirely, Luness wisely decided to not land on her shoulder, as she'd probably scratch Leandra with her sharp talons. Not the best idea.
Soon, the pair entered the debrief room to find that the only other ones there thus far were Xiao and Laohu.
Instantly feeling a bit awkward, but not wanting to let it show or possibly offend Xiao even further by avoiding her, Leandra walked up to the girl and smiled at her before sitting down beside her.
Luness landed on the table right in front of Leandra and almost slipped for a moment when she was caught off-guard by how polished the table was. Quickly correcting and catching herself, Luness then smoothed her feathers down after the initial surprise and harrumphed in annoyance before becoming quiet once more.
Ever so slightly amused by Luness' antics, Leandra faintly snorted before looking back at Xiao and saying, "Hey, sorry about earlier. I was just having a bit of fun...and I guess I got carried away. Sorry."
Anxiously rubbing at the back of her neck, a habit both of the twins shared, Leandra then waited for Xiao's response to her apology, which she felt was definitely necessary after seeing the reactions she'd gotten both from Xiao and Alec after her antics.
