So how does stuff like marriages and divorces work in Carmondy? What does it take to get a marriage annuled?

death mostly, though adoption is sometimes used as a substitute - it is more accepted the farther north you are, being a Galdic sorta thing

if it is found out that they are uncomfortably close kin, or she is a sorceress / demoness or undead, then the marriage is null

if the Holy Temple is paid a fee and it can be proven that no children are being produced by the union, it could be decided that Paragon does not wish this marriage to be so

Is the fact that Philippe is harvesting fruit from his seed every 2 to 3 years consistently consistently considered proof that Paragon smiles upon his wedding?

technically ummm yes...

but who's to say that her ex fiance wouldn't have been better?

Sweet. So, question. What does slavery and indentured servitude look like in Carmondy/Borderlands?
prisoners can be sold off at the coast, sometimes - not really legally, but the slave trade with Dyrnwald often goes unchecked

heathen clans also take slaves

valotage is a common form of indentured servitude, with nonmilitary versions too

I wanted a Fyrdian lordship with mostly just plains along the border, Sherfield fit the bill

also, my character went up first I think, so I didn't rly know where the action would be

in hindsight I'd choose somewhere less backwater

Fair enough. But as a strategy game player I can give some advice for the future. You typically start at the edge if you want to do some turtling and take it slow the first few turns.
