Well in historical examples I think that Edward Longshanks started seizing lands and titles from the Anglo-Scottish Border Lords which had those vassals invoke the protective clause of their oaths from their Scottish Liege Lords. Edward claimed that they were sheltering outlaws, while the Scottish Lords claimed he was unjustly attacking their vassals.

I'm sure there's a ton more specific cases involving individual Lords sheltering a vassal from their enemies but none come to mind at the moment. You also get a lot of this kind of stuff during the Wars of the Rose's and that also includes the sallying forth and taking revenge half of the equation.

Ok guys, I'm going to create a Dark Fantasy Samurai game. What should the focus be on?

Gwyburgh certaintly is, it's just occupied by Carmondy. The High Magistrate (he had a name I forgot) operates out of there

Looking at the region map, it does appear Flamebay's part of Fyrdos geographically/historically, idk when your house was established there. You're right on the border of Low Lands and the Pale. Gwyburgh and it's surrounds make up most of the Pale.

its de jure fyrdos but de facto carmondy

Speaking of reclaiming clay, did my raids in Oading/nearby settlements lead to any notable prisoners to potentially ransom?

My house was established during the first years of the Boldic conquest. It's an old house, and was probably independent before enough neighboring lands got conquered to become part of Carmondy proper. I kind of imagine Flamebay as being like those Viking outposts in Scotland and Ireland for a while.

Lady Moria Darthon, wife of Tayne Darthon, Lord of Oading (ill edit post)

Hey, since my Uncle loves me, will he give me back the bridge now that the reason he owns it is gone? Or does it make too much money?
