Personality:
Sigrid is an enthusiastic adventurer and a generous leader. She is focused when she is needed and takes counsel from many before taking actions, never shying away from problems that arises. She is usually sanguine, but poised in her ways, engaging others in a calm, and determined demeanor with great confidence. Even in battle, she tends to keep a cool head and orchestrates her plans properly. While manipulative when it suits her, and often times ambitious to a certain extent, Sigrid is respectful towards her peers - evident in her leadership abilities.

Where she is receptive of strangers and friends alike, Sigrid tries her best to keep her companions and followers in the light - by empathy and personal insights. Accompanied by her intrigues to engage herself in various hobbies, Sigrid's enthusiasm to learn new things and face challenges portray the image of an idealized adventurer. However, behind her carefree smiles and assured voice, there resides a certain reservation of unspoken gloom and self-deprecating thoughts. At times, she can be seen in her self-endowed melancholy when alone. While disciplinary when it comes to dire situations, Sigrid is generally well-respected for her past deeds.

Biography:
An enigmatic young warrior, with little needs to disclose her past to strangers, Sigrid was only given a name after her claim of the reward for the slain Elvar Serpent from the Jarl of Vaeborg. It was here that she began to pick up on the fickle nature of mankind and their ambitions. In the process, she too, would begin to develop her own ideals for the future. While she has yet to relinquish her bloody routines entirely since, her exposure to civilization had began to form a certain sentiment that would change the fate of Tuta forever. Called Sigrid for her beauty and victorious feats that were otherwise unaccomplished by commoners. The young girl would come to be heralded as the 'Child of the Raven' by the old prophecy. It was said that Sigrid was Syr's lost child, of whom was raised by Aedayn's ravens in northern Tuta. Sigrid would later go on to serve in the Jarl's court, slowly rising up in the ranks for the next few years, before she grew tired of the Jarl's limited views on the world and sought to find her own destiny beyond the sea.

Turning to Hargrimm for help, Sigrid recruited a variety of oddballs that were willing to accompany her beyond the World's Edge. Whatever their reason may be, Sigrid promised them the one thing they could not deny - riches of mystical lands. Of course, such things were based on tales of old and rumors, and could only be proven with time. However, Sigrid had little options, for she was due for an inevitable scheme against her by the Jarl. Despite various oppositions to her planned expedition, Sigrid would not compromise with anything or anyone to realize her dream. That dream, however, was only a byproduct of her true goal - the revelation of her destiny, of which has yet to reveal itself to her.

To many, Sigrid is hailed as a hero, others - an inevitable threat to the old ways. Despite her conformity to traditions, she had never been one to acknowledge the prophecy that pertained to her. But the one thing that remains clear is her boundless ambition.
Weapons Proficiency: Axe / Dagger

Abilities:
[Griswaldr's Runes]
A supposedly forbidden knowledge, exclusive to the Einherjars that guards Solsgard, Griswaldr's Runes are considered their primary ability to combat the serpents of the stars. Sigrid imbues her weapons with her blood-infused Thurisaz runes that enables her ability to effectively combat hardened monsters with the forbidden art of channeling one's blood to cause an aetherium surge of strength and enhanced agility. Especially lethal against draconic beasts and heavily-armored opponents, but will cause Sigrid to bleed out as a result. The Griswaldr's Runes are also perceived to be one of the ancient Markai's schools of magic.

[The Elvar Curse Bearer]
Cursed with the blood of the Ancients when she inadvertently consumed the Elvar Serpent's blood, Sigrid spilled blood latches onto her skin - forming a protective layer of hardened scales akin to the Elvar beast. While adorning this form, a shroud of the Elvar's dark aetherium surrounds her, augmenting Sigrid with the ability to utilize Thurisaz spells without the need to prepare the incantations. However, the serpent's toxic essence that glues itself onto her body is susceptible to holy magic, making her most vulnerable to specialized divination magic. As she retire from battle, Sigrid is also plagued with visions that comes and goes when she least expected it - a side-effect of the serpent's blood that now resides within her body. Fragments of nonsensical memories plague her, sometimes manipulating her emotional response. Aside from odd visions, it is also accompanied by physical ailments, such migraine and hemoptysis, which Sigrid believed to be the serpent's blood poisoning her body slowly.

Equipment:
[Valengar]
A legendary axe believed to be the lost tooth of Aedayn. While the weapon itself is no different from an ordinary axe with ornate carvings, its material is strong enough to cleave through the hides of dragons and basilisks.

[Elvar's Bane]
A short blade of unknown origin, speculated to be a broken piece of Syr's sword by most Tutans. The dagger is well-known for its killing blow against the Elvar Serpent and being able to withstand its acidic venom - deservingly earning its name.

[Leather Armor]
Black-leather apparel that provides enough cover from the elements, but leaving plenty of room for agile movements. The iconic raiment of the child of the ravens.

[Sabertooth Fang]
A memento of a distant past that Sigrid keeps on her at all times. Sigrid believe that it is the key to her destiny, of which she has yet to make sense of.

Oral traditions described the land as "A land of death for the False Contender and a land of life for the Child of the Stars. Rich soils of fire and metal, nourished by the blood of faceless sentinels. Mystical creatures of the sea and the land, wrestling for the favor of the Child of the Stars that resides upon the frigid peaks where the breached sanctuary awaits its restorer. All that begins upon these sacred grounds perpetually ends."

HAKAN INGOLF

Name: Hakan Ingolf

Epithet: The Mender, Sage, The Blind One

Personality:
This Solarian is primarily known for two things. His "soft" heart and his thirst for knowledge.

Hakan's capacity for kindness knows no bounds and is only matched by the ferocity he displays when protecting his own. What he lacks in sight, he more than makes up for in heart. That being said, having a big heart only means it is a bigger and easier target for those with ill intentions. Hakan is no politician and his willingness to help others often ends up with him being the butt end of a cruel joke. With his heightened senses he is, more often than not, able to tell when a person is lying. Despite that, he frequently believes that showing kindness patience, and understanding will eventually make people come around. He has won many allies this way but he has equally been burned by it.

However, this does not mean he is naive. He has enough years under his belt to know that some people are just beyond redemption. Beyond saving. But he still holds out hope that everyone, even the most vile of people, have a little good in their hearts. As long as he believes that, he will always try to appeal to it.

Biography:
Hakan had lived a relatively normal life until his adolescent years. His father was strict but fair in his guidance. His mother was incredibly kind and intelligent woman who take care of their family. He had 4 younger siblings who all looked up to him and relied on him to take care of them when mom was busy and dad was away on raids.

The way of life for their people was a brutal one and spared no one in its cruelty. Be it by combat, starvation, disease, or dehydration. The lands the lived on were often unforgiving. Hakan's own father died trying to acquire supplies on raids by the time he was 14. A ripe age to become responsible for his family.

Hakan had already had some combat training thanks to his father's teachings and it was decided that it was enough to be brought along on the next voyage. This wasn't the typical raid but rather a scouting mission. They knew very little of the distant lands and what kinds of bounty lied there beyond the supplies the natives had. Hakan was one of the villages brightest young men and was capable of handling himself. That was why he was sent along.

As the months turned to years, Hakan transformed from boy to man. He was a well traveled Solarian whose knowledge and experience dwarfed even those who went along with him on this mission. They were met with as much hosility as they expected at first and it was difficult to trust anyone over there. Many times over he or his companions were sold out or backstabbed in their search for the truth and many times they had to fight with their lives on the line. Against both men and magical beast alike.

Yet, to everyone's surprise, the warm attitude he displayed all that time ago as a lad never truly faded away. It was tempered and measured now but the kind-hearted soul that was Hakan Ingolf still remained. The difference was that his old reluctance towards violence turned to conviction. His pain of lost kin turned to reckless abandon to save everyone he possibly could. His despair turned to courage. His courage turned to leadership and charisma.

Hakan was often called mad or insane for the absolute fervor for which he dived into situations that were near impossible to survive. Just to save the life of a commoner or fellow viking. An expendable life for all intents and purposes. Yet, it made him a near hero among the commonfolk. That even if you were to fall in battle, Hakan Ingolf may be nearby and would weather death in all forms to save your pathetic life.

He trained himself vigorously with spear and staff and studied herbology,medicine, and runecraft endlessly. Normally, people would burn out at the rate he consumed knowledge but the thought of saving more lives than he already did proved to be a nigh infinite fuel source.

Everything he did, he did for the betterment of those chances. To raise the odds of saving lives and reduce the number casualties at the end of it all. Every concoction or spell he learned and every strike he mastered was for his fellow man.

Eventually, Hakan paid the price for his foolhardy courage and was critically wounded himself trying to save an Lesni Ranger during a bandit assault. The Solarian voyager was already injured when he dove in to save this ranger. Not only punctured by 2 arrows but had several deep sword cuts on his chest, back, and left shoulder. He was carrying the Lesni over his shoulders, retreating back to his allies before another arrow struck his leg and grounded him. Nothing could stop the small pack of starved dogs the bandits employed from setting themselves upon them. The elf and human fought back as much as their injured bodies could manage, covering their throats to avoid a critical wound but neither could hold out. It was there that Hakan was robbed of his eyesight. One of the particularly large and nasty canines was able to open its mouth large to latch onto the top part of his head and started thrashing him like a cheap rag doll.

It was actually the 19 year old's screams of agony that prompted some of the villagers that knew him and rush forward from their homes to his aid. It later turned out that they were people he had spared no degree in helping with their day to day lives.

It is no exaggeration to say that Hakan survived by the very skin of his teeth. The clerics and enchanters were only barely able to save his life. But certain wounds he received were too deep to heal. Like the one to his eyes.

Though, in a strange way, after a few years of adjustment, Hakan was sharper without his sense of sight. His other senses were heightened well beyond normal human capacity. He resumed his active duties despite warnings and trained intensely until he was not only as good as before but even better. Even in his studies he found he absorbed knowledge better when he couldn't see the words. It obviously took him longer overall, but he used a care he never would have when he still had his vision.

Almost two decades have passed since then. He was well known in his home village and always brought home many interesting objects and stories to the children and his family. His mother had long since passed and his siblings were all grown now. He was considered something of a foolish hero and tales of his unbridled courage and reckless abandon had spread among the men for years. Those that didn't believe the stories of the staff wielding blind man, often found themselves being rescued by him.

So, when Hakan was approached with the promise of advancing into the frontier he knew so well and establishing a new colony there, he was one of the first to give his loyalty, staff, and treasure trove of knowledge in its entirety to Sigrid Ravenchild. As a healer, translator, wiseman, and recently, Sage, Hakan's services were practically invaluable to this endeavor.
Weapons Proficiency: Staff(Spear)/Hand-to-Hand

Abilities:
Healing/Augmentation-
Hakan's specialty when it comes to runecraft has always been in mending and strengthing magicks. He is capable of performing healing that would typically put another mender in recovery for several days before they can do any act of magic again. Strengthening/augmenting runes are also something he excels at. Strengthening and repairing the integrity of weapons and armor, bolstering the abilities of others (strength, speed, agility, tenacity, perception etc.) And even applying effects like fire or raw magic to weapons.

Generalist-
Given Hakan's wide array of knowledge, he has access to a large variety of runes. However, he is not always compatible with a lot of the runes he knows about and will be unable to use them or be able to but with great difficulty. His secondary ability comes more in the form of teaching others more efficient or even new runes to use that are compatible with them.

His primary use of his supplementary knowledge is in herbology and alchemy. He will often use runes to bolster the effects of salves, tonics, and potions he creates in the event that his spells have overtaxed him. An occurrence that happens more often than not, given his character.

Equipment:
Staff- Hakan carries a staff with him that he uses to not only help him watch his step as he travels but also to lay a brutal beat down on any who try to cause him harm. The staff seemingly made of a hardwood but anyone who grabs it will be surprised by the weight of the thing. That's because it actually has a steel core which is how it doesn't break even when struck by axes or swords. This naturally makes it very heavy but years of practice has made it so he can use it effortlessly. The steel core has runic enchantments running down its entire length to strengthen its integrity and make it very difficult to bend or break.

Enchanted Gauntlets and Shin Guards- When Hakan isn't using his staff, he is an absolute terror in hand to hand combat. He uses steel gauntlets and shin guards with runes to help deflect even the mightiest of blows if he gives it enough juice. It functions equally as armor as it does as a weapon, turning his punches and kicks into deadly strikes capable of caving someone's chest in it he doesn't hold back.

Spear-
If an upcoming situation calls for it and non-lethal takedown are not an option, Hakan does keep his old spear from his voyager days in storage and will take it out when peace is not an option. He prefers not to do this and will actively take steps to avoid having to.

Furs & Leather-
His body is clad in various leather pieces and furs to keep nimble and agile while maintaining some protection against the elements and minor damage.

Sage's Satchel-
Hakan keeps a variety of bags and pouches on him strapped to belts, including a large satchel of his shoulder. He keeps salves, potions, herbs, and tonics in various locations but most importantly, he keeps scrolls and books in the satchel for study and references while traveling. He will obviously put the literature containing satchel down when combat ensues due to its surprising weight.

Others:
It should be noted that Hakan is an excellent duelist combat wise but group fights or raids are where his weaknesses lie. He is more than capable of fighting one, two, or even three on one sometimes but once allies and enemies start clashing in a big group, it's incredibly difficult to tell friend from foe apart. His enhanced senses actually work against him here with all the conflicting sounds and smells and will actively disorient him. So, he tends to stay back during raids or group fights and people will bring the injured to him so that they can get back in the fight. That being said, it means he requires someone to stay with him and guard him during these times. He can fight effectively as long as he has someone to orient him.

That, and obviously ranged attacks are his kryptonite. He may be able to hear the twang of a bow being released from its string but that doesn't mean he'll be able to react in time to avoid it nor would he even know where it's headed.

OTRYGG ISERNVARGR

Name: Otrygg Isernvargr

Epithet: Ealdgesid/Ealdfeond (depending on whether the speaker is friend or foe) Bera, roughly translating to Old Bear.

Race: Ramm Astrian, with curling horns on the side of his head.

Personality:
Otrygg is one of, if not the most, boisterous of the Tutans in Vaeborg. He goes about his day to day life with what the more jaded folk would say is an infuriating smile upon his face. But then they would look to their house that he no doubt had a hand in making before deciding that he can be in a good mood if he wants. The first to grab a drink and belt out a rousing song, Otrygg has become a main stay in the fast growing village, seemingly as sturdy and long lasting as the oaks to many children and young adults of the village.

Weapons Proficiency: Two Handed Tutan Axe, Tutan Sword and Shield.

Abilities:
1. Meteor Strike: Otrygg's blows with his Tutan Axe are so devastatingly powerful that they can cleave through several armored men in a single blow. Yes it can shatter a shield wall in a mere instant, but the drain and stresses it puts upon his body leaves an opening for one or many opportunistic warriors to send him to the Hall.
2. Berserksgangr: The battle trance most associated with the Berserkir, or Bear skin, warriors. This intense rage seemingly prevents even the mightiest of blows from doing him harm and pushing his already great strength even further.

Others:
Though the berserksgangr and meteor strike are used to great effectiveness against many enemies, it puts a great strain on the aging man. The berserksgangr alone puts a man out of action for days at a time. For Otrygg, it leaves him a shivering, haunted, and hunted shell of his usually jovial self. More than once has he had to be gently coaxed from what he percieved as a cozy spot on the battlefield to somewhere with a warm fire and many animal hides to throw over him to ward off the worse of the unearthly chills.

ÁRNI NYHUS

Personality:
A Solarian of Commitment and Skill.

Árni is staunchly devoted to the refinement of his skills and ability as a warrior, a hunter, and a man. Possesses an eagerness in his heart which drives him to test his mettle against others. Or even himself. But to him, there is no greater pride and worth than the bondage of words. Indeed, he places an exceptional degree of value upon such things: whether a contract, a promise, a deal, or an oath. He expects others to follow his way of thinking, but the standards placed on himself are higher than on others. In his younger years, he believed that he will always follow through on these matters, but as time marched on and days became years, this prospect became difficult to obey. Every broken promise in his life still weighs on his mind, but he has learned to live with these failings. Those who abuse his trust in the principle are the ones that he despises the most, taking a sacred pact and then rendering it asunder is a fool's idea of cunning or intelligence.

Despite his adherence to traditions and culture, Árni finds himself often amused with the irregular or rare. Listening to songs and music from their conquered foes, learning their culinary culture, or interest in competitive pastimes. No, he is not a scholar or an archivist so that he may catalogue and share these discoveries. This desire comes from a selfish place in his heart. He seeks to know these things for himself and his family alone, whether they spread it is up to them but if you give knowledge to Árni, chances are that he will keep it to himself.

Biography:
Hailing from a vaunted family in Prestonorp, Árni as the youngest son lived relatively leisurely. He had two older sisters to look after him, while the older brother went along with the strict father to raid distant lands. Tuta is a harsh realm, many die from the dangerous wildlife, the hollowing diseases, the debilitating lack of food and water. But the Nyhus family called this land their home and were a pillar of support for Prestonorp. Their lineage was long with the exceptional individual here or there, but always ever-present. It is a pity that they met their end shamefully.

Tryggvi, Árni's father, returned with spoils from a recent raid. But instead of jubilation, his face became stone and cold. When his wife, his daughters... When Árni embraced him, he did not reciprocate any of it. His visage remained unchanging. His wife noticed the change first and drew the children away, leading Tryggvi to bed so that he may rest. While Tryggvi slept, Árni's mother went to work. She assumed her husband was grief-stricken and decided to prepare his favourite meal and spend time together to console her dearly beloved. The sisters took Árni to the nearby forest where the youth liked to play. Ah, what a joyous time. Somedays, the littlest Nyhus wished those moments never passed.

Tryggvi did not sleep however, he rose out of his bed. His wife happily cooked away, while Tryggvi approached from behind to surprise her. Surprise her, he did. By smashing her face into the reed floor, staining it crimson. She could not even speak as Tryggvi coiled his arms around her frail neck, strangling her airway close. Then dragged her off to bed, not for any carnal pleasures but for something more sinister. He knocked her out with vicious strikes to the head, before retrieving a knife. He flipped her over easily, exposing her back to him. With the knife, he carved her up. Cutting through wool, flax, then skin and muscle. In the form of an eagle. The blood pooled in the bed they shared through fortune and misfortune. He ripped his wife's lungs through her back and sent them flying to the sides. If only that was the last, terrible thing he did that day.

His children returned from their frolicking, happy as can be in this world. Their joy shattered when they returned home. When they caught their mother with the beauty of an eagle. And a predator that replaced their father hiding in the shadows. He struck immediately! Splitting open Tófa's head with a brutal blow! Then Thrud's neck snapped like a twig in his large hands. Fear-stricken Árni sprinted away with a maddening howler. Drawing the attention of the inhabitants. They saw the monster with the red knife and broken daughter in hand. The women screamed, and the men drew swords. But Árni never learned his father's true fate. He had already disappeared into the forest.

The young eleven-year-old was now alone in this place of death. With the only possessions being the clothes on his back and the blade at his hip, one that Tryggvi made for him on his fifth birthday. Árni wanted to throw it in the deepest pits of the underworld but realised the folly of being defenceless. Seven, torturous years pass for the boy-turned-man. He adorned himself with the skin of a predator, subconsciously mirroring the scariest thing that he had ever seen. It took him another two years before he could find Prestonorp. Or was it because he was ready to face Prestonorp now, after so many years? He never said, but his return to the village was met with warmth and happiness. The wolf-skinned hunter reclaimed his family's axe and sent off to provide again. Not for himself this time, but for his village and those who relied on him.

Down the line, he was given an opportunity to aid a hero of some renown. Sigrid Ravenchild. How could he not accept an offer from this daring raven born? Wishing to test his skills in this new land, where prey of all sizes and warriors of all styles could be found.
Weapons Proficiency: Tutan Bearded Axe/Bow and Arrow;

Abilities:
Wolf Hunter's Rage -
Due to Nyhus' warrior heraldry, he is capable of enticing himself into a battle-maniac mindset. All notions of fear, restraint, and caution are suppressed in favour of anger, iciness, and devotion. This terrible psyche does not make him a frothing lunatic that kills all who are near him but merely wakening the beast within. He retains much of his higher cognitive function, but his fury may lead him to paths of nigh-suicidal endings. To become this harrowing beast, Nyhus and his fellow wolf hunters engage in pre-battle ceremonies and rune drawing. This hypnotic spell lasts for several hours, enough for most battles.

Bowman's Blitz -
Not a Runic Ability per se, but Árni is incredibly gifted with a bow. Able to loose a baker's dozen of arrows in just half a minute with his 120-pound yew bow!

Equipment:
Nyhus Bearded Axe -
A bearded axe that is passed down from Father to Son in the Nyhus family, each generation repairing or enhancing this lineage weapon. It is a deeply important relic of the family, dating back to Bjarni Nyhus, also known as Bjarni The Ravager. It is said that with a single swing, he could cut down 5 men. Or Brynhildr the Scholar, who took this axe on her first battle which broke her oath of pacifism. Regardless of the history, Árni is proud to have such a weapon in his kit. Árni has imbibed on the axe head a rune that bolsters his swing speed.

Tutan Bow and Arrow -
A standard bow of Tutan, one that is worn down by Árni's repeated usage.

Ulfskin pelt -
A pelt made from the hide of a wolf, Nyhus personally hunted down and skinned the wolf. It is largely symbolic, but underneath the symbolism is hidden a chainmail mesh that protects Nyhus from stabbings.

Eyvendur is senseless like the many he employs to be warriors, he is rational and kind, bearing gifts and rewards for service worthy of such things. Similarly, he is as generous as he is irritable. Time wasted grants him no benefits, only demerits are found upon a path of an unlived life. Eyvendur is thus very diligent in his work and planning, never shying away from doing something personally. Eyvendur's mind works by considering if the benefits outweighed any demerits. To not do so would be gravely irresponsible of him; a fact that impedes any irrational thinking that is sowed within his mind.

Eyvendur is charismatic to a fault, gregarious in his way of venturing to seek the company of others. He is more than happy to accompany a man who only wishes to tell of his plights. Regardless, the comfort of socializing greatly pleases Eyvendur, allowing him rest and ease. Eyvendur is notoriously known as being extremely rational and composed when under potent duress. His mind never falters and he does not allow his instincts to control his actions. In whatever scenario he finds himself in, his head stays level-headed and thinks on what can be done. His mind, as having been described before, is as dull as a well-used sword when it comes to life or death situations. Eyvendur has lost the ability to call any physical engagement of his as ‘well-fought’ and adrenaline is scarcely seen coursing his veins.

Biography:
Born as the spare to the proper heir to the Earldom of Einsreach, Eyvendur had little in the way of preferential treatment. He was the final son of his concubine of a mother birthed before her untimely death. Considering his birth and disputed heritage; as well as his lack of being the heir, no allowance or treatment was allotted to a befitting son of an Earl. Eyvendur bore no hatred towards his half-brother and neither for his father. It was the duty of the Earl to keep the heir as attended to as possible so that they may acclimate and eventually take the reigns of leadership. Eyvendur spent much of his childhood entranced by the preliminary duties and etiquette adopted by his half-brother. In all honesty, if life hadn't turned out in this fashion, he'd have wholeheartedly supported his sibling's endeavors and passions.

It is oft that events come in turns, good or bad.

His father had passed without any mention of prior illnesses or grievous wounds remaining on his body from the previous repulsion of conquering madmen. This death heralded the way forward for Eyvendur's half-brother to take the throne and implement himself as Earl. After little more than a month into his sibling's rule, Eyvendur's half-brother departed the mortal coil in a mock battle after a sword unflinchingly made its way into his stomach.

With no children to his half-brother's name, the title of Earl had been passed to the next successor of his father; Eyvendur. The cross-breed between Lesni and Markai had little in the way of being capable to rule despite the Earldom's lacking size. Though as time went on, he found himself more than capable of administration and diplomacy. He founded a conglomerate of city-states and other Earldoms to form a united council that relied on each other's many goods and protection.

Over the few years of his rule, Eyvendur began intermingling himself with the commoners of the land. Learning of their plights and being informed of what could help. However, one day he became entranced by the glorious rumor of a young maiden searching for men to accompany her to lands uncharted. He could not deny that he was so enticed that he nearly gave up the rule of his Earldom to venture out. In time, he found that the ruling council of Earl's could very well simply take control of his lands for the time he was gone and return them upon his arrival back. It was with that trust so effortlessly placed with them that Eyvendur ventured to meet the woman Sigrid in search of untold riches and Gods unfound.

Abilities:
Eyes of the All-Seer
Believed to have been granted by his patron God Alvis of Magic and Wisdom, Eyvendur can acutely narrow his perception and senses to the point that it is unnatural. His eyes can watch over a field where a battle may take place; his ears can pinpoint even the slightest of breathing, and his nose is so finely tuned that his nostrils flare when roasted meat is even remotely present. It is not without downsides, such as his hearing having such amplification that he has near lost his ability to the sound of drums. Eyvendur can control his senses enough to avoid such a scenario, but it is much more likely that he has forgotten that he has changed his senses in any form.

Sacrificial Thurisaz Runes
Eyvendur is aptly specialized in the form of sacrificial aetherium arts learned from many scholarly scrolls he had dug up from within the chambers of his Earldom. By drawing a rune of his own blood unto or under the body of a live victim and then further slaying them, Eyvendur can inherit the aetherium hidden within to power his own body. This greatly benefits him in terms of physicality, raising his overall ability to that of someone who can carry a bull with no cause to worry given there are enough sacrifices to allow such a feat. Problems arise with how the runes are arrayed and most importantly where they are. The runes can be easily displaced and thus the spell nullified; the body can be taken and thus the rune will lose the conduit, and any manner of disruption is more than capable to end the connection.

The runes themselves take a great time to carefully and adequately administer, thus the whole system is set to be prepared before any engagements. However, it is a one-trick pony as soon as an adversary discovers the method by which the magic is used and discovers the ease in disrupting it. As soon as that is done, all power is lost and Eyvendur is set back immensely in both time and effort.

Equipment:
Eyvendur carries with him a multitude of trinkets and baubles, as well as tiny little collectibles he has gathered, but he most holds importance to his long-lived and battle-scarred weaponry;
- Ame's Cleaved Greatsword

A Greatsword inherited by Eyvendur from his late brother. The sword is not as magnificent as it may sound; chipped and cracked, his late brother's weapon clings with unbound strength to the last vestiges of life. Even so, Eyvendur had sworn upon his name to take up the sword and wield it proudly.
- Barend's Mighty Chopper

A Greataxe inherited by Eyvendur from his late father. It is by no means a truly grand weapon however the blood spilled by its sharp edge and weighty feel can still be smelt even from afar.
- Coat of the Earl

A fine silk-made coat that drapes over the shoulders and hangs by the collar of the wearer. The upper portion is adorned with furs and its size fools those into thinking it is not entirely capable of guarding its wearer. The coat itself is lined with light chainmail in the interior, cushioned by the furs that lie beneath the softness of its silk outer shell.

- In spite of Eyvendur's more casual attire, he does wear clothing that protects him from the harsh colds. Eyvendur as well can equip himself with armor befitting his title, however, it is not often enough to be worth mentioning.
- He currently holds lordship in the Earldom Einsreach far in the southern reaches of Tuta. Under Eyvendur's rule, it has grown only slightly in economic and military strength but its citizens are no worse off than they were prior.
- Eero is merely a family name, deriving from his ancestry as rulers of vast city-states. Those days and that era have long since passed.

When she was young Kaija was known to have a caring and quite sensible temperament. But hardship buried that earlier predisposition. Only showing a glimpse of itself with how unexpectedly nurturing she can be with children, people in need or those close to her, such as her allies or friends.

Her thrifty and industrious nature coupled with an adaptable but efficient mindset make her a joy to have as a worker. That is, if her subservient and calm demeanor wasn't so often rife with passive aggressiveness with anyone she dislike or does not respect.

The need to buried this facet, made her courteous and charming . Not afraid to be playful or overly friendly with even the most hostile of people.

As Kaija tendency to be elusive and devious quickly made itself known when she had resigned to her new condition as a slave, so too grew her insecurity. Being rejected and put aside by others for her heritage put a toll on her. Often unable to fight back she became incredibly vindictive whenever the chance for revenge, no matter how small, presented itself.

Kaija personality, hardened by slavery and necessity made her a good ally to keep, a loyal friend to have, and a knavish enemy to fear.

Biography:
Born from an upper middle class merchant familly. Kaija was promised to a bright future. Until one day, during a travel to visit relatives in North Karelia, a violent storm caught her familly boat. The young girl ended up wash up on Tutan shore, miraculously alive, but in bad conditions.

The villagers patiently helped Kaija recover and heal. Taking great care to not scare her off.
But the young girl felt something was off.

Despite no mistreatment from their part the villagers were treating her a little more like a curiosity, a rare and exoctic pet, than a human.

One day, when she had fully recovered and was in peak form again, two men came to the village. They examined her like she was an object, measuring her, weighting her and looking at her face.
As if determining her value.
As soon as Kaija understood what was happening she shifted and tried to run away. The girl fought with all her strength but the villagers helped the two men subdue her, she was knockout out and woke up completely bound.

She was soon sold to a merchant and offered as a present to the Jarl of Vaeborg. Kaija did not take well to her new condition.
Being the former pampered child of a South Karelian couple, the young girl was used to an easy and pleasant life. This coupled with the discrimination and mockeries she faced for her astrians heritage and faith, made her cry many a night.

Once resigned to her situation, she worked twice as hard, determined to rise up in rank and gain her lost freedom. The household soon became friendlier to her, admiring her work ethic and obedient nature. And soon the Jarl noticed Kaija potential and decided to make use of her astrian abilities.

From then on she became one of the Jarl soldier, being particularly qualified for night mission or locating a target with her animal senses. Her new position giving her the respect and better treatment she craved.

After ten years, Kaija had gotten use to her new life, taking a liking to Tuta and it inhabitants for their hardy but loyal character. And then Sigrid came along.
Kaija quickly took a liking to the mysterious girl. Loving her enthusiastic and adventurous nature as well as how fairly Sigrid treated her despite her status. Soon the two worked together for the Jarl and were praised as his most efficient team and fighters.

The two grew close enough that Kaija felt comfortable treating Sigrid as an equal and telling her about her wish to be free. But the Jarl being set on keeping her, not willing to part with one of his best slave.

To her surprise, and the disgruntlement of the Jarl, right after another one of her feat, Sigrid asked for Kaija freedom as compensation.

Now a free woman, she immediately joined Sigrid when she told her about her project, wishing to repay her for her freedom. But also seeing an opportunity to find her remaining kin and see the country that bore her again.

Abilities:
Shapeshifting :
Kaija can transform into a big white fox, gaining all the senses and strength of one. Her swiftness and sharp claws easily tearing into enemies. Although this ability is innate, she is unable to speak while in this form and is unadapted to desert or hot and really warm environments.

(Passive) Nocturnal :
She can see fairly well in the dark and is the most comfortable when it is the night.

Equipment:

a weapon from the shipwreck she was in. Kaija bought it back from one of the man that sold her.

Origins: The Wilds, Northern Karelia
Personality: A hedonistic and straightforward man, Aglain does not shy away from the fact that he has practised a particular skill set for much of his life and happens to have become rather good at his job instead of dead in some ditch. It happens to make him good money, and he needs it if he wishes to enjoy a rich meal and drink. Damn pricks charge him an arm and a leg for anything. If he was younger he'd string them up by their own guts and take back his coins afterwards. Alas, it's been a few years since he's had the freedom to cut loose and do whatever he wanted.

Between Aglain's race and profession, it should come as no surprise that the man's skin is thicker than even a basilisk's hide. He keeps his calm and tongue well; speaking up only when he has something of value to contribute. His hearing may be keen, but he has also mastered the art of tuning out those who love the sound of their voice too much. A mask of professionalism keeps him from slipping into past habits. Savour not the kill, but a job well done.

He's a bit more personable when there's downtime, and doesn't try to isolate himself among his peers. The majority of people are already more than willing to do that for him after all, he's not going to chase off anyone that doesn't. He's open to conversation, hard to offend, and quite willing to share exploits and stories.

Biography:
A volunteer to Sigrid's cause rather than a recruit, Aglain is certainly an odd enough member to the motley crew. His presence around Vaeborg is a bare minimum with only a few rumours as to what purpose or business such a cursed creature could have there. Before then there were other sort of rumours. A monster in the night that stole from not just its victims, but those sent to usher souls to Solsgard!

Perhaps he simply wishes to escape from a place where he is merely tolerated rather than welcome. Mayhaps he hopes that the riches promised will be enough that he will be able to live life in comfort afterwards. Or maybe he's there on a job for someone else who isn't quite so happy about the waves she's making. Maybe even all of the above with a few other reasons sprinkled in. Things are rarely so straight forward to be black and white after all.
Weapons Proficiency: Longbow and spear.

Abilities:
They Come in the Dark
Aglain possesses the ability to manipulate shadows and darkness into a tangible mass that rises up and blankets an area 10m around him. The cloud does move with him, but only at a walking pace, so it's easy to outpace if his opponents realize its nature. It obscures the senses of everyone caught within it except his own, and brings an unnatural chill that saps both resolve and warmth. A more restrained use of the magic envelops Aglain instead of spreading it out, and muffles his presence. His footsteps are silent, his passing leaves no scent, and even a tall and distinctive looking Astrian passes without a trace.

To Feast on Men
As if skulking in the dark wasn't bad enough for Aglian's reputation, his ability to manipulate and consume blood certainly is. By coating his weapons with his own blood, Aglain is able to sink his fangs into his enemies with even just a small injury. Against weaker willed warriors, the ability to push his blood in and wrack their body with pain can be enough to garner him the advantage he needs. Against more veteran and bloodied foes? The acceleration of blood loss helps bring down even great beasts. As if his ability to exsanguinate enemies after the battle wasn't terrifying enough, Aglain is able to replenish his stores of aetherium by consuming blood. It doesn't heal his injuries, but it does provide a pick up and some relief to mental exhaustion after battles.

Equipment:
Balkyss
A spear with a flame-bladed head, it measures at 6'9 (2.05m) in length. Not magical in anyway, but of good craftsmanship that has lasted Aglain several years now. The shaft has been replaced a few times when broken, but the head has been kept and it makes for rather distinctive injuries.
Longbow
Aglain prefers a slightly heavier draw weight on his bow to allow for a great range where his arrows remain lethal. He practices for precision over speed, and hunts prey just as often as people.
Daggers
Always keeps at least a pair on his person. Not only are they back up weapons, but they're also useful as tools.
Gloomwolf Pelt
A wolf's pelt that's black as night, it was part of Aglain's rite upon the Lunar Isles to hunt down such a beast and return it to the earth to receive his blessing. Despite having done that to become a man, the furs still fit him quite comfortably.
Character Theme: Never been good at these.

Others:
He's not actually nocturnal despite the rumours. He can see just fine in bright light, and the sun does not in fact burn him. Most of his work just tends to be done better during the night.
Good at whistling and can carry a tune as well. Not too shy to sing in public among others either.
Has a few nasty rumours surrounding him. Worst is probably how his blighted magic offers his opponents no salvation in death. By draining their blood and refusing to allow it to return to the earth, he robs a piece of them and prevents their journey to Solsgard. Naturally, he says it's all horseshit.

Born in a small farming town in the powerful Sunderlands Kingdom, I didn't receive, nor take much, except my insatiable curiousity of the greater world around me, I absorbed any information I could get my hands on, from superstitions and fables from his mother, basic footwork, how to make crops grow, and how to harvest them well from his father, how to handle a sword from a traveling swordsman, with each fact I learned, only leading me to more questions. "Why." Became my absolute favorite word during childhood. Most answers I got, never satisfied me. Galebreathe:
Specializing in calling upon the maniputation of the air, I bring forth destructive winds and manipulation of sound. My specialization allows me to cast simple wind spells without any chants, and complex spells with more efficiency. My attunement to the winds allows me to never lose track of where I am.

A carefully crafted steel warspear with an internal circuit, specially designed to the channel Aetherium Energy from the pole, to the tip of the spear, allowing it to retain temporary enchants for longer, and pinpoint destructive energy to the tip. Has a rope sling to allow for easy carry.

A small iron dagger used mostly as a cutting tool, to draw blood for certain rituals, or for his simple pleasure of woodworking with pieces of driftwood.

Solfrid has lived long enough to consider herself mature and refined. She takes her craft seriously, and takes no short-cuts when she forges a new blade or sharpens an axe. Everything must be to perfection, from the blade itself all the way down to the pommel, Solfrid does not allow herself even the slightest room for error. This trait however, does more harm than it does good, because if Solfrid feel like she's made a mistake, be it in her wares or elsewhere, she'll punish herself, and go on a path of redemption even if it isn't asked of her.

Outside of smithing, Solfrid is pleasant to be around. She doesn't make many jokes, but exudes an aura of relaxation that many find enjoyable.

Finding high quality metals in Tuta is difficult, and highly expensive. This rune helps Solfrid by changing the fires of her forge from a bright orange to blue. As metal is put into the forge, any impurities that may be present are burned away. This not only saves Solfrid time from having to take the time and remove them herself, but it ensures that the metal will be nice and strong. Not only do the flames remove the impurities present in the metal, but it also strengthens the metal, making it the strongest it can get.

A spear with runic designs that Solfrid forged herself with the help of her father many years ago. She has kept the spear in excellent condition, and is no slouch with it either, having cut down many who threatened the safety of her forge.

[Wooden Shield]
A standard Tutan Shield that's perfect for blocking attacks and bashing heads in.

[Custom Leather Armor]
A mix of Leather and chainmail that Solfrid had custom made for herself. It provide enough defense to protect vitals while allowing Solfrid to stay mobile and light on her feet. She also wears a helmet forged by herself that protects her entire face, with holes in the front in order to see and breath.

Anja possesses a passion for raiding and pillaging. Her greatest ambition is nothing more than to engulf herself in the thrill of battle and lavish in riches gained from plunder. She does not sympathize strongly and is perfectly content with dooming others simply to elevate herself. However, she also does not seek to actively harm others unless she stands to gain something from it. Her hedonistic ways may make her appear to be reckless, but she has a good judgement and is willing to attend to whatever duties may be necessary when the situation calls for it. Anja is bold and expressive, and doesn't restrain any of her thoughts or feelings. If she enjoys someone's presence, she will ignore their boundaries and get as close to them as she desires so that she can extract as much amusement from them as possible. Conversely, she has no trouble talking down even the highest of authorities, and her fearlessness in that regard can often lead to trouble. Anja is quick-tempered and likes to test people's courage using intimidation, but they can earn her respect if they don't seem like cowards.

Biography:
Anja grew up in one of the many coastal towns of Tuta. Her parents were poor fishermen, so she didn't have many possessions in her childhood, which was generally dull and unpleasant. Much to the discouragement of her parents, she learned how to fight as soon as she came of age and participated in many seafaring expeditions. She progressively gained more experience in combat, and she observed how her life changed as she grew more powerful. If she was strong, she could take from the world whatever she lacked and there could be no consequences. If she was brave, she could stand up to anyone who threatened her, and even those who were prejudiced against her Lesni race would be silenced at her will. Despite having come from nothing, she became a rather well-known seafaring warrior within her home town over the course of many years, and she lived off the bounties she collected throughout enemy territory. One day, her home was attacked by an ancient aetherial beast from the deep sea, and many sailors lost their lives defending the land. Anja made a name for herself by delivering a critical blow to it and successfully fending it off, preventing them from being completely devoured. The creature resembled a giant squid, and inspired by Sigrid, Anja consumed its blood during the battle, gaining the ability to conjure fractions of its strength.

She eventually grew bored of familiar territory and sought to venture further, so that she might enjoy greater pleasures and earn grander conquests. Thus, she offered her years of seafaring combat experience to Sigrid and joined her party.

Kraken's Wrath-
Anja can offer blood to ritually summon a colossal, stationary tentacle from any sturdy surface. The fleshy tendrils are rather tough and have both offensive and defensive capabilities, but the larger quantity she summons at once, the faster she's drained.

Mitr-Blessed Constitution-
Imbued with the blood of every sailor's darkest terror, Anja can traverse the ocean's depths with ease. Her stamina drains particularly slowly while swimming and she can hold her breath for large stretches of time.

Servant of Temple Unceasing, Sister Aeora

Naïve curiosity buried beneath the strict mannerisms and lessons brought upon her by temple unceasing, Aeora subconsciously holds onto that childlike spark of curiosity that most have pushed out of their mannerisms. Still, Aeora is a sister of Temple Unceasing and her training has done well to make her well aware of the horrors of reality. As such Aeora carries herself with a reserved quietness not out of timidness but out of discipline. Still there are times when that inquisitive streak is shoved out of her causing the otherwise refined young woman to become no more than a curious child. Aeora also has internalized an unusual competitive streak, often rising out of her reserved persona when challenged, even to the silliest of challenges. During these lapses in character Aeora tends to be more hot-headed and foolish than she usually is. Additionally she is surprisingly gullible to the world.

Temple Unceasing, Servants of Hrafn:
The order in which Aeora pledged her servitude to. Temple Unceasing bases its operations out of various exclusive clubs across Tuta all of whom serve the Fate Raven Hrafn, son of Syr. While Syr is the weaver of the fates, Hrafn is the essence of time and fate itself. His eternal flight across the realms allows for the world to spin and allows the whims of fate to be reality. Temple Unceasing pledges themselves to upholding the flight of Hrafn and prepare offerings of blood and Aetherium for the "Impossible Moment," a time in which Hrafn lands upon the Order's highest tower and feasts upon the offerings left by the Order. It is known as the Impossible Minute due to the fact that time stops during the time in which Hrafn feasts, making it imperceptible by mortals. Afterwards he flies off and continues his flight, causing time to begin once more.

Most of the members of Temple Unceasing are dedicated to collecting offerings for Hrafn all the while trying to mimic his mystical flight across the stars that allows for everything to be. They accomplish this mimicry through rites of sacred dance that serve as separate ways to cast magic (See entry in Abilities for further info.) These dancers, called Kras Vulpers, exact the will of Temple Unceasing by practicing the power shown by Hrafn's flight and enacting a sort of vigilante justice by serving as de facto assassins. Kras Vulpers hunt and kill those marked by the Temple Fate-seers, people who are able to perceive the purity of peoples hearts through special magics. Kras Vulpers often target cowards, deserter warriors, thieves, and generally those who prey on the weak. The other duty of the Kras Vulper is to facilitate the deaths of great warriors through the art of performance. Willing warriors who have grown too old to fight may opt to donate their body to Hrafn by attending a special show by Temple Unceasing in which they are killed in such a way that is said to facilitate a smooth and beautiful travel into the afterlife. Occasionally Kras Vulpers will go out of their way to try and predict the deaths of great warriors on battlefields and to either travel alongside them or be there for their final battles.

The Sacred Steps of Hrafn serve as a unique way of extracting Aetherium. Where most spells require one to connect directly to Solsgard to extract the full amount of Aetherium required for a specific spell, The Sacred Steps allows one to connect to Hrafn himself and use him as a connecter to Solsgard. This process allows for a unique form of spell casting in which a user extracts a small amount of magic from Hrafn's connection to Solsgard to complete ritual magics in small portions, largely expediting the spellcasting process by making the magics active at the start of the ritual and fueling it through a slow and constant process until the end of the ritual. The need of a rune to reach Solsgard is nullified by the connection to Hrafn. Kras Vulpers are instead required to establish and maintain their connection to Hrafn through an intricate set of steps that form a dance meant to mimic the flight of Hrafn. Each step must be followed perfectly and even the slightest misstep can result in the catastrophic failure of the spell at hand. The draw of blood is still required, though.

Steps of War- A Kras Vulpers main dance for conventional combat. The nature of the dance has the Kras Vulper making winding and inefficient movements and then making movements like a snake coiling round a victim all the while striking out at various locations unto the target. Kras Vulpers possess their extreme speed all the way to the point of striking, giving the illusion of the dancer "teleporting" to their targets and then appearing in front of them to strike, only to disappear until the time of the next strike. The dance doesn't allow a constant barrage of strikes, opting instead to allow the Kras Vulper to move out in long graceful dancing away from targets, only to move in once more moments later. The dance is long and utterly exhausting, demanding full mental attention of the dancer as well as pushing the body to its limits. Upon the finishing of the dance, the Kras Vulpers blade is infused with an immense power, allowing for one powerful strike or throw that can pierce even the toughest of hides.

Steps of Entropy- A complicated dance focused more on small micro-movements and sporadic bouts of energy, which by nature leaves the dancer without much freedom of movement forcing them into a rather vulnerable state. Those who view this dance tend to have their concentration forcefully placed upon the dancer. Those who view this dance have a poisoned perception of reality placed upon them. Shadows twist and lengthen and individuals who were once threats are phased out of the perception of those with poisoned realities. As the dance proceeds illusions will spring forth for observers and then finally at the dances conclusion the dancer will be temporarily phased from visual sight from observers. The dance has an effective diameter of 40 meters.

Personality: Zealous and dutiful, it is Lilith's honorable task to uphold Temple Unceasing's ideals and beliefs above all. Lilith is not hesitant to speak her eccentric thoughts, no matter how blunt or off putting she may come across as. Though Lilith is generally amicable and cordial, her attitude takes a notable change upon entering combat. Posed to a threat of danger, she becomes... excitable, falling back to animalistic tendencies and all the more ready to donate yet another body to Hrafn. That, or she simply enjoys the killing. Putting aside her fervor, Lilith is persistently headstrong, almost always refusing to back out of her decisions—Hrafn wouldn't turn his flight around, so why should she?

Steps of Onslaught - Signaled by her shrill coos; an altered version of the Steps of War performed mid-air, only possible because of Lilith's naturally higher mobility in her wings. During the dance, she becomes a hunting osprey to her foes, swooping down to strike at astonishing speeds, following several arch patterns; down and up, and repeat. Utilizing the same "teleporting" illusion, Lilith can dive from any direction to take her opponents by surprise. Lilith cannot stop moving during the dance and needs to wholly focus on her moves during it, or else the attack is fully interrupted. Upon finishing the dance, the Kras Vulpers blade and her talons are infused with an immense power, allowing for one powerful strike—she often uses this to drive herself back into the ground with the glaive, creating a shock wave upon landing.

Steps of Furtiveness - A Kras Vulpers dance for a more stealthier approach. The dance performed is meant to be utterly silent, with Lilith bouncing on the tips of her toes and maintaining a careful balance as to not fall. Throughout the process, Lilith's dance becomes faster and faster until the end when she breaks off. After the dance, she enters a Furtive phase of stealth, becoming near silent in her movements and gaining an increase in speed. Lilith cannot stop moving during this phase or else she reverts to normal. While Furtive, Lilith shrouds herself under the blanket of her jet black wings as she moves.

Biography:
"The coven hearby sentences the Tøva Clan to be stripped of their lands and titles and exiled from the Lesni Realm."

Nerisys came to be among her fellow species within the heartland of the forestlands. Growing up, she became accustomed to their way of life and found her calling to be among the hunters of her village. Being naturally gifted with the usage of the bow and a little help from her tutors, her name quickly rose to renown amongst the villagers along with her dedication to the craft. Following her coming of age ceremony, her affinity with the wind was revealed which further expanded her skills with the bow. Life was happy for Nerisys. A loving and dedicated family. A trade she thoroughly enjoyed and skilled at. A possible lover too?

Tragedy struck as news broke out within the Lesni realm that her father, an explorer and tinkerer, was imprisoned and to be charged with treason to her kind. It was revealed to be a political maneuver to lay claim to the Tøva Clan's lands, which bore fruit to a continuous supply of animals to hunt and obviously claims to land. The charges of treason weren't without truths however, as it was true that Nerisys' father ventured beyond their lands and established a variety of relationships with the Solarians. The Coven of Peers convened and sought him guilty - her family were to be exiled.

A period of wandering occurred as the family were ousted beyond their home for hundreds of years and into the unknown. Traveling to settlement to settlement they finally arrived to a homely port town and quickly established themselves as rising seafarers with their Aerokinesis. Years passed as Nerisys adapted to their new way of life, but with boredom and the monotony of the work beginning to ferment within herself she quickly grasped at the oppurtunity to seek out something more - a recruitment drive to venture beyond and to World's Edge.

Naturally attuned to elements of the wilderness, common among her species, Nerisys' highest affinity is with the wind. Years of refinement and training within her village has granted her the ability to manipulate the surrounding air in various forms. Some of the forms allowing her to perform offensive maneuvers involving a direct pulse of compressed air towards a target or even manipulating the winds in support of landing her arrows.

Upon the Tøva Clan's exile from their forestlands and many months of wandering the horizons without a home, the clan decided to take residence among one of the major port cities. With no real connections, they sought to establish themselves as seafarers and quickly learned the ropes among the already experienced sailors. Nerisys' years of learning the trade makes her profecient with the many skills needed with the seafaring trade with the help of her Aerokinesis and Compass.

An ancestral bow passed down through the generational Tøva Clan of the Lesni. A gift from the royals of the Lesni since the clan's founding and crafted by the greatest bowyers of the period. The bow is inscribed with blood-powered runes that enhance the range and power upon it's usage. Known for its durability and continued usage throughout each generational period amongst the Lesni.

A one-of-a-kind innovation of the time period tinkered by Nerisys' father, the compass is handcrafted and littered with runes within a metal casting. Upon, empowerment the compass' dial to point towards the North. Extremely useful in the efforts of navigating the seas among other locational activities.

Jox

Personality

An Astrian of great stature and subdued mannerisms, Jox is a furred assortment of contradictions. Grim, yet optimistic. Stern yet kind. A dweller of the dark committed to bringing light to those that would need it. A creature with such a menacing appearance should have the attitude to match. But a life spent in a close-knit clan habitually compels the Rat man to form close bonds. A task difficult amongst other races. Rats are not beloved creatures on the best of days. Less so are the man sized talking ones.

Thick fur, and a perpetually stooped posture, grants Jox a distinctly feral appearance compared to other Astrians. His is a countenance that stokes feelings of unease in the weak willed. It is forever Jox's lot in life to look the part of the monster. This is something he cannot and will not apologize for. Had the Gods not intended for him to look like a giant rat, he simply wouldn't.

With a rasping voice and a respectable collection of scars, it would seem that the Rat man is fond of both battle and the discomfort that his appearance brings others. He is merely comfortable in his own skin and does not try to change himself. The flash of his fangs is of no threat to those who've not earned them. Only a mark of what he is. Jox is certain of himself, and embraces the gifts of his heritage readily.

Maintaining that heritage is the work of a fastidious sort. Something that Jox very much is. He grooms his fur religiously despite the scars that adorn his body. His pelt keeps a lustrous sheen that is liable to evoke envy in those like himself. He keeps his claws cleaned and well sharpened. If not out of ego, then practicality. A lack of hygiene represents a lack of care. Not only for oneself, but for others around them. This is a sentiment that the Astrian has no problem burdening others with and is openly disdainful of those considered too messy for his liking.

The Rat man's constant preening is oft regarded as a sign of arrogance. Doubly so given that he refuses to dispute such a claim. An extensive vocabularly and the bait of being too verbose for most people does not help matters. Jox, as a constant seeker of knowledge, cannot help his enthusiasm for intellectual pursuits. He consumes literature like a Dwarf consumes ale. Voracious and without limit. An innate curiosity for the world around him keeps Jox on the search for more things worth knowing.

He remains ever alert in order to assist in this. Pricked ears and a twitching nose might be endearing on another creature. Less so on Jox. But they are the means by which he surveys his surroundings. Sound and smell are of greater importance than sight, something of little use in the tunnels of his making. He is curious by nature, and instinctively wary. And so Joxs observes would be dangers with the same level of intensity of anything else that may have drawn his attention. Critically, and constantly questioning of its purpose. The world is enormous, and there are no warrens for him to hunker down in when danger arises.

Indeed, to be away from his clan's warrens is to flirt with danger. And so Jox has learned to meet that danger head on and assert himself as the greater threat. The Astrian's feral style of combat is unremarkable to his kinsmen and terrifying to his foes. The swift delivery of a fatal bite to the neck should show a monstrous and bloodthirsty nature. To the Rat man, a swift life ending bite is nature. And in many ways, a mercy. Freezing wastes, scare resources, and wild beasts molded Jox into the warrior that he is. A large clan, an immortal guiding light, and a warm nest in turn molded him into the person that he is.

A clan only works if all members work towards its continuation and success. For this reason, Jox holds teamwork in high regard, and holds loyalty and trust at equal value. To be duplicitous is to undermine the clan. An assurance of mutual demise. Bonds forged must always be cultivated, maintained, and protected. And so too must the makers of those bonds. A protective sort, the Rat man will not abandon those he considers a clan mate. It would be a rejection not only of his duty, but his very nature. Whether those clan mates like him is irrelevant. Survival, for one, is survival for all.

Sadly, not all beings know the warmth and protection that comes with having a clan and extensive warrens to call home. Jox is often left starving of the comforts of home and tries to adapt as best he can. Despite his size, the Astrian has a penchant for nesting in smaller spaces. It evokes a sense of safety within him, and he becomes anxious about the thought of resting in a space to wide and open. Sleeping in a pile of warm bodies was par for the course in the warrens, but something the Rat man is forced to do without beyond the tunnels of his home. It often comes as a surprise to others that a large rat is fond of physical contact. Jox finds it to be a matter of practicality. It brings comfort, and more importantly warmth in the frigid lands he lives in. For his part finds it offputting that so many races forgo this comfort in the name of propierty.

Biography

A clan of the dark places, countless gnashing teeth, and divine purpose. Their name cannot be spoken by those without the blood of beasts in their veins. And so the furless call them the 'Rostakor'. They, however, call themselves Keepers.

The clan's warrens are dark. At the foot of the mountains they've dug into, the barren tundra is cold. The Rostakor are born in the darkness. And they die in the cold. There is no natural light in the warrens, and no warming embers in the frozen wastes save for what can be conjured up to ward off the cold. And so the Rostakor carry their own light, and hold tight to their own embers.

Jox was the same. One of many that dwelt in the tunnels. A worshipper of the Elder Flame, and a carrier of his own spark. The Astrian knew well the responsibility that came with lighting one's own path through life.

Soon, he would learn what it meant to light a path ahead for others.

To stick one's nose out into the world and catch the scent of their destiny was a tale as old as time. And Jox was no different. He felt the call in his own whiskers and answered readily. But it was a call that even the borders of Tutia could not encompass. It was a call from beyond the sea.

Rats can be found skulking in many a place. And so their ears hear much. The workings of the other races are of little regard to the Rostakor. They maintain vigil just enough to spot the signs of coming instability. A war for one means problems for all.

Yet whispers of the Raven's ambitions reached deep into the tunnels the Rostakor dwelt in. Humans were notorious for their dislike of change. And so when one of them sought to make things anew, the rest lifted their voices in protest. The Rostakor had no such ambitions. None had ever traveled across the sea in the time that they'd lived in their ancestral home. They saw little reason to. And yet tales of the Raven filled Jox with a desire to see beyond the waves. A notion odd to his clansmen, but not one that left them bereft of curiosity.

The clan Elders blessed this instance of a young Rostakor's journey. It differed from the countless ones prior. Though there was an undercurrent of desire as well. The clan was growing and there were only so many tunnels. It might be wise to heed this whispers of lands untouched. One with space for enough warrens for all of them.

Only one would be needed to light the clan's way. Jox, chosen not for ability or ambition, would bear that light. A guardian of the way forward only by circumstance. But as with all things, he was whollu commited to the task and would forge a path ahead for them all.

And this was the first ember struck. Jox left the warrens, left his home in the mountains, and turned his nose towards the sea. The Raven Child waited there. That is what all the rumors said. A strange name for what was supposedly a Human. A Raven she might not have been. A child? He certainly hoped not.

Flame Wielder

All Rostakor are Keepers of the Elder Flame from their birth. But to wield the Flame is something else altogether.

Jox has made the customary pilgrimage to the peak of the highest mountain stretching over the clan's warrens. There, in full view of a sun that does not grace the tunnels of the Rostakor, he spilled his blood, thereby sealing the pact that would allow him the right to wield the Elder Flame.

The Astrian's connection to Solsgard does not span the breadth of knowledge typical of the greatest Sages and Shamans. But the Rat Man's belief is absolute and therein lies true power. For a Wielder, the Elder Flame is but an extension of one's own being. To draw upon that belief is to stoke that flame higher. This allows Jox to perform feats he would not otherwise be able to. Through channeling the divine light of the Elder Flame into his strikes, the Astrian can deliver blows that can turn stone to rubble and sunder armor, be it man made or the hide of a scaled beast. Unsurprisingly, or surprisingly depending on who you ask, these divine flames are also well suited for dealing with the undead. This comes as easily as breathing to him, and in some way, it is Jox's faith that empowers him more than the Elder Flame.

Iron Jaw(Passive)

It is a well-known fact that a rat can chew through just about anything. It would then stand to reason that a rat the size of a grown man can do so to a greater capacity. A boon granted to all Rostakor by their heritage, Jox, is equipped with a powerful set of jaws and teeth. His bite makes quick work of anything from wood to brick and mortar. Softer metals stand up only marginally to his jaws, but refined steel is a different matter. Only extensive rust and weathering weakens it enough for the Rat man's teeth. Naturally, flesh and bone are no match for Jox's fangs and he has no qualms about introducing them to his foes.

A practitioner of bare handed fighting, Jox has braved the wilderness of the Lunar Isles to hone his body into a weapon in and of itself, choosing to forgo the use of more traditional weaponry. The beasts that call the isles home made excellent instructors besides foes. While he is more adept at many of the fighting stances embraced by other races, Jox does not deny his bestial blood in pursuiting perfection. Feral strength is perfection in its own right. Would the Gods have given Jox fangs for tearing and claws for rending he was not meant to use them? The Astrian will even lash his tail like a whip to ward off those who'd attempt to get too close. While bipedal and capable of fighting in such a manner, Jox feels comfortable running on all fours, a primal stance that grants him greater maneuverability.

Scorpion Sting

A cruelly serrated blade, no longer than the standard dagger. Attached to the end of Jox's whip-like tail, it turns the appendage into a lethal weapon. It deters would be attackers from approaching Jox's rear in the heat of battle as it lashes wildly. The length of Jox's tail also allows him to wind it around his own body and strike at anyone unlucky enough to be in front of him with deadly precision, thus granting the blade its name.

Soul Spark

A small trinket inscribed with a Thuristaz Rune and then imbued with an ember of the Elder Flame. It serves no purpose as a magical artifact, as the amount within is negligible. It is instead a mark of a Rostakor's commitment to being a Keeper of the Elder Flame. Each clan member gets their Spark upon reaching adulthood and varies among each individual, though something small enough to carry in hand is the standard. The talisman that Jox carries is a small obsidian figurine carved into the likeness of an Ibex, such as the ones that live high in the peaks over the warrens.

Jox adorns himself in simple leather and mail with no other adornments. He dons a red cloak when it rains, but forgoes it otherwise.

Eydis is strong-willed and steadfast. While many may say she has a streak of stubbornness, there are few who will argue she is simply just passionate about her beliefs and no one can convince her otherwise. Indecisiveness and reluctance have no home in this warrior, ready to charge at any obstacle in front of her, she is always sure of herself as well as her choices. Her peers will say she is more than capable on her own and efficient in a team, she carries out her given tasks with pride and a certain level of eagerness. In the heat of battle she is fierce and unforgiving, relentless almost to a fault. With the capability to easily be blinded by her own rage enough to make rash and unwise decisions, and sometimes extreme ones. Despite the sadistic urge to spill blood at the drop of a hat, she holds the capability to be loyal and committed to whom she deems worthy. A bold warrior and a trustworthy ally in battle, Eydis is most notable for finding contentment in satisfying her capricious needs, what ever that may entail.

Biography
Eydis was the second born love child of her mother and father, who both came from families who devoted their lives to being fishermen. Naturally, Eydis knew her way around a boat and its sails at a very early age, and now considers herself quite the tenured navigator and sailor. Her life was unexciting and quite mundane compared to the rest of the village, proceeding with their daily chores and general upkeep, with the men being stolen by the call of battle from time to time, including her elder brother, Ingolf, the first born of the family. Shortly after reaching womanhood and becoming of age, Eydis was married off to a well-to-do blacksmith and farrier. What was first a reluctant marriage, quickly blossomed into a story of true love. Though the two were betrothed to one another as a result to dissolve a rivalry between two families, they were luckier than most to find genuine love despite their arranged situation. Not long after the two were wed, her parents died from the degradation and illness that comes with age, and her Ingolf was valiantly struck down in battle and left to search for the afterlife. The blooming marriage and happily perfect life came to a devastating end when Eydis' husband was also taken from her in the heat of battle a mere 3 years after they bound their lives to each other. That same winter, her only child, less than a year old, died from pneumonia.

Having her husband's love and life stolen from her, in the most brutal way, then losing her only child, had turned a once sweet, and selfless young woman, into a creature of burning rage and vengeance. Since then Eydis has hardened herself, and has locked her heart in a buried chest somewhere with the key thrown out. Eydis unleashes all her hate, fury, and frustration with every blow in battle, fire burning ablaze in her eyes, and the deep yearn to spill blood where it can be spilled. She carries a lot of baggage which can sometimes make her seem a little unstable, but its always the unhinged ones that make the most fearsome warriors.

Weapons Proficiency: Moderately effective in infantry combat, Eydis is most proficient in both her swordsmanship and hand-to-hand combat. Her primary weapons of choice would be two single-handed axes, she is agile in her reflexes and fierce in her force. Her axes are lighter than her sword therefore allow her to move nimbly if compromised, combined with her fearsome hand-to-hand skills, she is surely an ally you want to have your back. Second to come, would be a long sword. Though she may not be as strong as her male counterparts, she still performs with equal lethal skill and can manage on her own with out help. Where she lacks in strength she gains an advantage with speed. Eydis was also trained in archery since a very early age and can maneuver her way around a bow, but while her archery skills are adequate, she is no expert marksman.
