Max laughed at him a bit and nodded "Oh yes totally, you'll be beautiful." She teased before kissing him again "Why didn't you go with them? To find Joseph?" She asked softly

Danny went searching for her getting more worried by the minute. He went wide eyed when walked into a larger area and saw Carmen laying there. He yelled for Charlie and rushed to her side starting to work on her. "SHUT UP!" He yelled to Charlie as he started to protest "She isn't dead! If she dies Cassandra looses Joe, she won't die. I won't fucking allow it."

He frowned some and sighed "They don't trust me for one... For two I get distracted far too easily and I'm sure I'd get off track and lost within minutes... For three... I din't want to leave you with the teenagers." He mumbled frowning, getting them over to the rocks by the waterfall, sitting on one so he could relax a minute.

Charlie frowned but soon nodded "Go get his stuff." He told Liam, frowning when he didn't move "Get it now!" He yelled at him, finally seeing him leg it back to the cars.

Max listened to him and gave a small nod "You're third in command right?" She asked as she followed him towards the rocks. She leant against it while kicking her legs lightly in the water looking up at him

Danny continued to work on her until he got breathing stabilized "Lets get her out now, she is stable enough to go to the van." He said quickly before getting her back "I smelt another wolf there....I don't know who, but it was definitely something of concern."

Charlie just nodded starting the van and heading back towards home. “Why did she go in ahead of us? She’s not in any shape to fight.” He muttered. “You think… you think she has him back in the country again?” He frowned knowing that her actual mate being around could pose a problem.

He just nodded and frowned. “Not by choice. Once they have Joseph back I’m hoping Danny takes my spot. I don’t want the responsibility. I like being more of a free spirit.” He smiled tiredly at her.

Danny stayed in the back of the van with her shaking some "The only reason I can think of is she felt him....I don't....fuck I don't know, would make sense as to why she resurfaced and got Joe....fuck we aren't a match for Jamie, Charlie. Only one strong enough is on their side right now." He muttered running a hand over his face. They were the only two aside from Serge to know of Joe's past life, the one before the pack.

Max gave a small nod and watched him some "You definitely are a free spirit." She said softly before motioning him to come closer

Carmen started coming around once they were back at the house, feeling someone carrying her upstairs and just frowning. “Where is he?” She slurred a little.

He chuckled and nodded, moving to hold her to him, frowning though when he could hear the cars. “They shouldn’t be back this early.” He muttered.

Charlie carried her up to their room as they got home "Shhh shh its gonna be alright." He said softly before laying her down "Carmen...when you're ready, I need you to look at some photos for me alright?"

Max frowned softly when she heard cars pull up "Thats not good." She said before getting out of the water. She made her way back with him quickly wrapping herself in a towel as they got there

He frowned and shook his head, rushing back with her in time to find Liam and the boys taking things inside while danny was scrubbing the interior of the van covered in blood. “What the fuck happened?” He asked him worried.

She frowned and looked up at him. “Joe was… he remembered.. he knew me…. She told him to kill me.” She mumbled to him, “what photo?”

Charlie nodded some and gave a heavy sigh before rummaging through Joseph's things finding an old photo album "Sounds about right, she is an evil bitch but if she kills you then Joseph dies too." He explained going through the photos before finding a very old photo of his family "This guy, did you see him there?" He asked pointing to Jamie as he showed her the photo. He knew he was exposing Joe, something he should have let him tell her but this was do or die now.

Danny looked over at him and frowned deeply "Shit has hit the fan, Joseph attacked Carmen. We think Jamie is in the country." He explained

She frowned and looked it over. “Yeah he … he was with… with her…. Joe?” She frowned struggling to even hold the paper right now “Age?” She frowned and leaned back, letting her hand drop.

He frowned and shook his head. “That’s … that’s not good.” He mumbled seeing Charlie rush down the stairs. ‘It’s him.’ Serge just nodded and sat down on an old tree stump in their front yard, rubbing his face. “What is she planning to have him involved?”

Charlie tensed when she said she had seen Jamie and quickly rushed down leaving the photo book there. "Its him." He said as he rushed out taking deep breaths to calm himself "What do you think Danny? Fuck he's probably start up that goddamn army again, we're no match for him though, none of us are"

Max stood there looking beyond confused but soon made her way inside when Serge asked for her to leave so they could talk.

He frowned and gave her hand a squeeze. “I’ll be up in a minute okay?” He promised, looking back up at the others. “He definitely wasn’t here when she was in town. Max never saw a guy in the whole time she lived with her.” He told them both seriously.

Carmen had tried to go get to Joseph’s stuff to find answers when she’d hit the deck, not strong enough to hold herself up right now but she heard a voice and looked up seeing max stood over her. “The couch.” She mumbled.

Max frowned when she heard a loud thud upstairs. She went in to inspect and went a bit wide eyed when she saw Carmen on the floor. She gave her a silent nod and helped her up slowly to the couch "Do you need anything else?"

Charlie gave a nod abd sighed heavily "I wouldn't think he would be. Just trying to figure out why they're starting this shit up again." He muttered

She nodded and frowned reaching toward the box on the dresser. “His… his things.” She wheezed, looking over at danny coming in

He frowned and shook his head seeing her on the couch. “No. No you’re getting into bed. You have a hole in your chest you are not sitting up right now. Max can pass you stuff to here.” He told her seriously and moved her carefully back to bed, checking over her and made her take a couple pills before looking at max. “We’re gonna be a while downstairs. Could you keep an eye on her?” He asked her gently, knowing the two of them really hadn’t had any time to get to know each other

Max stepped away when Danny came in scolding Carmen a bit. She gave him a small nod while she collected the box Carmen had asked her to grab "I'll make sure she stays put." She said softly before moving to sit next to Carmen handing her the box "Let me know if you need me to hold anything." She told her gently

Charlie looked over as Danny came back taking a deep breath "We gotta kill Cassandra, its the only shot we got at weakening Jamie and getting Joe." He said before running a hand over his face

She frowned but nodded and leaned back. “It’s photos mostly… photos and things.” She mumbled, going through all of the ones of them together. “Is there… anything your… your roommate was… was… scared of?” She asked her quietly, wiping her eyes a little at how happy they had been and the fear of losing him permanently.

Danny frowned shaking his head. “If she hadn’t rushed in we could have done it then… what if… what if we speak to the council?”

Max glanced over the photos givjng a small smile. They did really look to be quite in love and it hurt her to know that her own roommate caused all of this. She looked at Carmen and gave a small shake of the head at her question "Not that I know of....she was pretty private, but she always wanted me away from here and the woods. She also wanted me to stay away from Serge." She explained to her trying to think of anything else "She mentioned a significant other once....she said his passport was causing complications for him to come here."

Charlie laughed a bit at his proposal shaking his head "You think they'll fucking have sympathy for him? His family practically still have sway and control, Jamie still was never found guilty after everything. They'll laugh us off."

Serge listened and frowned, thinking for a minute. “What if he wasn’t guilty? The same way Joseph wasn’t…. I get that he is her mate but what if .. what if he wasn’t the one in control? Why do you think he dropped off the face of the earth for so long? Maybe he was trying to get away from her like we were?” He suggested.

She frowned some and just hummed quietly, wiping her eyes a little. “I don’t… I just want him home.” She mumbled but frowned when she got to the next packet of photos and started going through them. “I don’t… I don’t understand how he’s in these.” She mumbled.

Max looked over some of the photos frowning at how old some of them were "I've been doing a lot of research from the books here. Its rare...but there are said to be wolves that have a slower aging ability. Apparently we all age slower than normal, but there are some that can live hundreds of years and not show it. I think the oldest on record was near 900? But he passed a long time ago." She explained quietly to her "Maybe Joseph is one of them? I read it's usually found in those with high ranking blood lines, and definitely not someone turned but someone born as a were."

Charlie gave a small shrug and nodded some "That is a possibility, but we don't know this for sure. All we know is if that is the case? This bitch is even stronger than we thought."

She frowned and shook her head. “I know this I… I know but… he’s never…” she frowned and just pushed it all away for now, laying down to try and rest.

Cassandra frowned when they got to the house and she sent the boys upstairs, looking over at Jamie and Joseph on the couch and sighed at joes expression. “What’s wrong? Sweetheart she was trying to take you from me? You don’t need to be sad about her.” She told him.

Serge scoffed. “Even more reason to go to the council…. As long as we don’t tell them about the wolf we changed without permission.” He muttered, rubbing his face.

Max frowned but nodded softly "Get some rest okay? We can try and talk with Charlie later." She said softly before putting the photos away and going downstairs to the guys "She's asleep now." She said softly to the guys

Joseph looked at Cassandra shaking his head a bit "But she....she was...I think my mate." He said quietly looking at her completely confused "How can that be?"

She shook her head and went to the kitchen, passing him a drink. “Here… she was probably just in heat trying to find any rogue to mate with her.” She told him, “drink… you need to save your strength.” She told him, sending him up before turning to Jamie. “Oh don’t look at me like that. It was a bit of fun. I could have taken it further.” She muttered when he made a comment about her being cruel.

Serge reached towards her and pulled her to his lap nodding. “We should go get some lunch. Call us if you need us.” He told them both, getting up and grabbing the keys to go out with her.

Max gave a small nod getting changed with him before heading back out with him "Whats happening?" She asked softly

Joseph quickly drank the drink and nodded some "Yeah....must have been." He mumbled before going upstairs after kissing her temple gently

Jamie frowned watching his brother leave shaking his head some "You're cruel." He muttered before standing up "Why do you do this?! Why do you hurt him? Why do you hurt me? Aren't we mates? A bond and love stronger than anything else?"

He sighed a little and gave her hand a squeeze before answering. “We’ve gotta go to the council. See if we can get help fr them. Mind you if I’m wrong we won’t get any…. But I think this time I’m right.” He told her, getting in the car and driving into town.

She smirked a little at him and shook her head. “I’m only giving you boys back the same treatment you gave me all those years ago. I told you from day one that I didn’t want to be turned. And you ignored those wishes.” She snapped at him a little.

Max listened to him giving a small nod kissing his hand gently as they got into the car "Will...will I be okay? I know I was not supposed to be changed without their permission." She said quietly

Jamie shook his head again sighing heavily "You were dying! I saved your life! Wouldn't you want to take sides with the humans instead of making a goddamn army of Weres?!"
