Hey lay there, feeling a bit awkward. This man just woke him up and then starting talking about some girl dying, someone he didn't even know. So, naturally, being the kind person he is, he reached up at wiped at the tear on Crowley's cheek. Even though loss was something Soren had never known, or had to known, he sort of felt bad. "Did you wake me up just to cry, or was the crying part an accident?" He asked, voice soft with sleep.
Crowley was a little surprised when Soren reached up at him. "Wha-? I, uhh, no.. no not really. I'm sorry if I woke you up.." The demon said, obviously embarrassed. It was shameful for a demon to cry, so having Soren see him like this made him feel a little worse. "I mean it's just that a lot happened today. I lost someone I care about, and..' Crowley got a bit choked up at this. "Someone I really loved died.. And it's my fault. I.. She died in my arms, Soren. I held her as she took her final breath. And the worst thing is, I can't ever see her again." Crowley cupped his hands over his face and began to cry again. "She was killed because I loved her, Soren. Just because I loved her."

He honestly hasn't intended to make him feel worse. Soren felt a little worse too now.

"I'm sorry," he said, very sincerely. "I can't really emphasize or know how to comfort you- I've never known anyone who died that I cared about. But," he said, pausing as he sat up.

"How could the world go back to the way it was when so much bad had happened? But in the end, it’s only a passing thing… this shadow. Even darkness must pass." The male quoted, putting an arm around Crowley's back. "Tolkien. Some things can't be predicted, Crowley, and I'm sorry for your loss." And he let his head lean against the man's shoulder, trying his best to comfort him.

(The same voice replies, "Does it look like I care?")

(Somewhere far off, a postal man screams "Enough shipping" and "The last one died".)

Crowley wrapped his arms around Soren and gave him a hug. "Thank you so much, Soren. That.. that meant a lot to me.." The demon said with a sad but hopeful smile. Being a demon, Crowley never had friends. But he was glad that he did now. "Hey, I'm a little sorry about what happened a couple of days ago. With the fireworks and shit, you know?" He cleared his throat and began speaking again. "I get a little carried away sometimes. I probably made you really uncomfortable."

"No problem," he said gently. Honestly, he was just glad the other had stopped crying. Being the size that he was, Soren could really only get his arm half around the other to hug him back.

"Uncomfortable? Not really. Honestly, I thought it was funny," he admitted. "I'm not as uptight as you seem to think I am."

"Well, I'm glad that you had just a little fun." Crowley said as he smiled warmly at the vampire. "So, now that you know my relationship problems, how about you let me in in some of yours? I mean, a handsome guy like you must have some kind of girlfriend or female admirer."

"I had a lot of fun watching you fall on your ass," he agreed whole heartedly. "Definitely after you carried me around like a sack of potatoes."

Then Soren let out a loud snort before coughing, covering his mouth. "Sorry," he said. "This maybe come as a surprise but I don't actually like girls- not that they aren't wonderful people, but I'm attracted to males." He clarified, looking a bit sheepish now.

"Ah." Crowley said, feeling a bit awkward after asking the question. "Well, I still need to change out of these clothes." Crowley said. He then remembered what Val had said. Lucia wouldn't have wanted me to stay mourning, the demon thought as he stopped in his tracks. He then bent over and kissed Soren on the cheek. "Thanks for talking to me."

"Buhbye," the male replied, though he too planned on going inside, no longer comfortable now that he wasn't protected from the sun. His skin pricked uncomfortably and he closed his umbrella.

And when Crowley kissed his cheek, his brow furrowed a bit, cheeks heating up. "No problem?" He said curiously, eyeing Crowley.

Crowley walked back inside, and left to his room to get undressed, and then to take a nap.

(GTG)

Crowley woke up, before most of the other inhabitants of the mansion got up. He walked to the kitchen and brewed himself a mug of tea. Yesterday was awful for the most part, but Soren did cheer him up. As he sipped the tea in his bathrobe he took a deep breath and sat down to read aloud, for it was just a habit.

"Entering that gable-ended Spouter-Inn, you found yourself in a wide, low, straggling entry with old-fashioned wainscots, reminding one of the bulwarks of some condemned old craft. On one side hung a very large oil painting so thoroughly besmoked, and every way defaced, that in the unequal crosslights by which you viewed it, it was only by diligent study and a series of systematic visits to it, and careful inquiry of the neighbors, that you could any way arrive at an understanding of its purpose. Such unaccountable masses of shades and shadows, that at first you almost thought some ambitious young artist, in the time of the New England hags, had endeavored to delineate chaos bewitched..."

Crowley, being someone who really doesn't like silence, decided to play some music while he cooked breakfast. Val and Soren had been so helpful yesterday. So, he thought it would be appropriate to cook for them. He snapped his fingers, and his bath robe became an apron. He still was only wearing his boxer shorts, but the demon didn't care.

Crowley reached into the pocket of his apron and pulled out his iPhone. After fiddling with the music app, he finally found a song he liked, and turned up the volume. As he cooked the ham and eggs, he started to sing along.

One quote and you're considered helpful. Meanwhile, Soren was in his room with all the shades drawn, almost asleep. Almost. There always seemed to be some sound in the house, somewhere, to keep him up. He sighed, rolling over, and climbed out of bed, giving up on his attempts of sleep. He pulled on a sweater and pants before opening his door and letting it shut loudly behind him, taking a thin elastic and using it to pull his hair up into a ponytail. Then he headed to the source of the noise, the kitchen.

Walking out of the library, Val yawned. She had been in there all night and was rather tired. She walked into the kitchen yawning. "Morning....coffee?" She asked, her voice soft making her sound like a child. She sat at the island, and watched Crowley cook, to tired to comment on the fact he wasn't wearin clothes.

As the eggs and ham sizzled in the pan, Crowley began to sing once more, as a new song began to play. He hoped that the two liked the food he made. but if they didn't, he'd probably just eat it all. He wondered if he had done the wrong thing when he kissed Soren.

"Hey there. How do you like your eggs?" Crowley said, as he started to dance to the song that came on next. "Thought that I might repay you guys since you not only helped me from one of the most terrible days of my life, but also since you are letting me live here."

"Sunny side up," Val said rubbing her eyes, "Oh, and no problem, not only vampires are welcome here, but it's kinda all neutral supernatural beings. Except werewolves, those bitches aren't."

And soon he found himself quietly leaning against the doorframe, looking tired and disheveled. He could rarely stomach solid food, but imagining having to tell Crowley that he neither A) eats eggs or B) eats in front of other people seemed a bit too cold hearted.

Oh well, it'll probably make him sick later.

"It's not like we can kick you out," he decided to point out, suddenly though he'd been standing there a while. "Good morning, by the way."
