Blood and Water (♠ Blue Suit ♠)

Tome nodded slowly and finally reluctantly, let her go, taking a short step back. "We can leave today, if you want to go as soon as possible. Just a few days' trip won't require many supplies."

((Hmmm, I'm wondering how to segue into finding his mother or a baby dragon like we talked about lol maybe they decide to go on a trip somewhere far away?))

Mia unintentionally raised her hands a little when he pulled away, maybe in an attempt to stop it, but before she did so, she lowered them as slowly and allowed them to fall back to her sides. "Yeah, today would be fine" She nodded as she herself took a step back.

(Hmm Oh! Maybe she decides to visit the place where her mother and brother are buried and as he tags along with her they find his mother, the baby dragon or both :P )

((I gotta go make dinner, so I won't reply for a while, but just warning you I won't be on much, if at all, for Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Also, I think baby dragon first, 'cause taking care of it might help him soften up a bit more :) ))

Tome nodded and moved towards the stairs. "Okay, ill go and start packing. Ill pull out a better bag for you. We can go whenever you're ready." He knew he would be done first, since he was more used to things like that.

(Ok c:)

Shouldn't take much, should it? After all, it'd be for about a few days, so she just had to pack up some clothes and some other necessary ones "Ok" Nodding, she headed towards the stairs as well, taking long strides towards her room as soon as they reached the second floor. She tossed some other dresses on top of her bed and took out things like a comb and such.

Once Tome had retrieved, cleaned out, and provided Mia with the bag, he went to his own bedroom to pack a few things. He got all of the things that were necessary, used to traveling and its limitations, and snuck briefly away to take something from Fawn's room. It was a small stuffed rabbit, something not much bigger than his palm, and he hid it at the bottom of his bag just so he would have a piece of her with him wherever he went. She was seared into his heart with all the heat of the sun, but it still felt nice to have a physical reminder.

((Ugh, so tired. Might just sleep now))

Mia stuffed everything she had prepared inside the provided bag. Well it was indeed much better than the other she used. With a nod, she stepped out into the hallway and, if only because the Fawn's door had been left open, she managed to catch a glimpse of Tome in there picking something up and putting it away safely on his own bag. She raised her eyebrow, but it felt as if she was somehow intruding, so she diverted her gaze rather quickly and with her head to the side, she headed towards the stairs quietly.

Tome glanced out the door when he heard Mia moving about, then just zipped up his bag and walked after her. "The horses can't be far. Ill go and make sure we've got enough feed for them to take with us as well, if you'd like to start saddling them up again."

"Sure, will do" Mia nodded and headed towards the back door. She took the saddle with her and effectively found both horses by the lake, probably taking a drink. She called for them as she approached their position and to her surprise and delight, the obeyed and trotted towards her. "Good boys" She smiled at them and, placing her bag on the ground, she saddled them carefully and gently.

When Tome came back with two bags of feed, one for each horse, he was glad the horses were saddled already, so they wouldn't have to waste more time. He checked to be sure the saddles were tight but not too tight, not out of any distrust but just because it was habit, and attached their bags and the feed to each horse before swinging up onto his. "We're ready, then. Let's go."

Mia nodded and hopped on top of her horse before petting it softly "So, which way?" Tilting her head to the side a little, she asked. She took the reins and moved them a bit, not enough to get her horse moving though.

Tome took his own reigns and clicked his tongue lightly, squeezing the horse's sides a bit with his thighs to get her moving. "East instead of west. It won't be more than a day's journey."

So it was rather close. "What's it called? Where we're going that is" She asked as she too squeezed her horse with her calves gently and allowed it to follow walk by Tome's horse.

Tome shrugged a little. "I'm not sure. I've only been there a handful of times, and I don't usually talk to any locals." He wasn't very social, in the best of times, and generally was only there when he needed supplies he couldn't get back in the castle's town. "It doesn't matter. They have a decently sized market that's different from our usual."

Mia couldn't hide a small amused smile that had teased its way to her lips when he mentioned the fact that he didn't talk to any locals. Well it didn't surprise her, sometimes Tome - well no, usually always - wasn't the talkative type. It was quite the opposite for her, for she didn't find to start a conversation with a random person. Hmm wonder if she sometimes talked more than it was needed. Perhaps, by his side it seemed so. Her brows furrowed a little and she shook her head lightly "Ok, I get it. Lead the way then"

Tome nodded and they headed off at a walk, then a trot, and finally an outright run for a little while. He hoped he hadn't upset her, after her mostly abrupt response, even though he thought he'd heard some sort of lingering amusement in there from something. He wasn't sure what, as he hadn't looked at her while he talked. They stopped, midway, for food and other necessities, and for a while sat down off the road to let the horses rest. "Tell me if you need to break." Tome said as he sat, sighing softly and leaning back against a tree. "We don't have to travel so hard as before." He could think straight now, or as straight as he ever could. He didn't need to go so quickly as he had. They had no time limit now.

Mia glanced at him and gave out a nod as she looked back at the horses. It sort of did bother her. Blowing her bangs out from her face she turned on her heels to look at Tome. And, taking a few steps towards him, she allowed herself to fall down into a sitting position before him "Say Tome, do you think I talk a lot?" She asked with such a serious face it resulted kind of funny actually.

Tome drank a bit of their water while Mia walked away, and was just twirling a piece of grass in his fingers when she came back, sitting with his knees up not quite to his chest. He flinched when she sat back down so abruptly, dropping the piece of grass onto his knee. He blinked at her, thoughtfully, and just picked it up to twirl it between the fingers of both hands again, shrugging slightly. "Sometimes." He said, plainly and a little quietly, and glanced at her sidelong, wondering why she seemed so worried about it. ". . . A lot doesn't mean too much."

Mia watched him in expectancy as she awaited for his reply. When he did reply, nevertheless, her gaze saddened a bit and she leaned back letting a simple silent "Oh" In response. She associated that with. Speaking too much: You're a bother. Nevertheless, when he added the last part, she raised her eyebrow and a little bit sheepishly spoke up again "And does that bother you? When I talk a lot?"

Tome shrugged again, shifting a little uncomfortably because this was feelings, wasn't it, and he was never good at feelings. ". . . 'S nice sometimes. . ." He admitted finally, looking more at the grass in his hands than at her. ". . . Fills the quiet." He never talked much, had grown used to that, but he liked hearing her voice fill up the house, even just little tiny corners of it. "Reminds me you're here. . ." He needed those reminders. Often, and strongly. If not for reminders like that, he was sure he would have been crushed to nothing already.

Mia watched at him a bit curiously before she finally allowed a content and soft smile settle on her lips. He hadn't said he didn't like it. Instead, he told her it was nice. Actually, it got her scared to think she did something he disliked because... What if he got tired of her eventually and pushed her away? She didn't want that. Her gaze lowered to her own hands "I see" She said lowly as her smile could only grow bigger, it felt like a huge relief to hear those simple words. I see She repeated to herself mentally.

Tome sat like that for a long time before finally letting the piece of grass flutter away, and just shifted enough away from the tree to lie down on the ground. ". . . And me?" He asked softly after a while, looking at the sky through the branches and leaves above. "Do I not speak enough?" Sometimes he really wasn't sure he could keep up with her.

"You don't speak much" Mia admitted as well as she raised her head a bit to look at him "But I like it either way" It was how he was after all. And she liked it when he spoke to her. However, if he didn't, it was not like she disliked it. Sometimes, the silence was not good, but others, she didn't mind.

((Sorry, had to make dinner and get ready and such. I gtg. Be back in the morning))
Tome nodded slightly, acknowledging her, and was silent for a while as he contemplated it. ". . . I think we work well together." He said, quietly, almost to himself. She could fill his silences, and he could try to give her words when she needed them, and he could keep her safe. She could keep him sane. . . They worked well together.

Mia glanced at him, brow raised. "Yeah" She finally said and it felt like her chest was warmer now. Would've never thought that he'd say that to her. But she was glad that he did. Actually, she thought he would never 'like' her again after he had threw her out some months ago. She did realize now how much had she regretted having used him, but how happy she was now that she met him.

Tome looked over at Mia, briefly, then just rolled forward up to his feet to stretch his legs a little more. "We'll leave whenever you're ready. I'm going to go and fill the canteens." There was a stream not far away that was clear and clean, he knew. He could fill them there and come back.

((Hmmmm, should they find the baby dragon now? Maybe she follows and they just find it. Should it be an egg, or already hatched?))
