Man, that's just... illogical. It seems like more of a popularity contest where the winner gets to have a surplus of people joining. Illogical. Just illogical- at least to me. (>n<)


Especially since the best roleplays I've been in close after awhile so that we don't end up with a ton of people and end up having trouble keeping track of everybody.


Is there a way to run a roleplay with limitless entries that doesn't crash and burn? ( O.o )

I'm honestly curious, Cloudy- all those I've seen so far have crashed.

This RP is where I met King, actually! The GM is very, very strict. He keeps everything in shape, Lots of people came and went but no one new is joining. Guess it's not a very good example.

I want to get a roleplay of my own started soon- I've got a storyline figured out and everything.


The only thing that's holding me back is I haven't figured out an equation for roleplaying that allows new entries into the roleplay without muddying the story line or overloading on characters after a certain point.


I really, really want to have it remain open for everyone for until the roleplay ends... but it concerns me to have too much going. Characters are super important to me, and not that one character will wash out another but the more characters there are the harder it is to keep up with everybody. You know?

There is a world. And in that world are your characters. Plots make themselves. They will come and go. Just because a lot has ended, doesn't mean the char disappear. Like I have said before. After the plot is finished... why not season 2?

Lol I am serious. It has been around for over 5 years and has had hundreds of plots and characters.
 
I'm actually kinda plotting an rp, but it definitely won't come to fruition until my life is less cray. I do know that it'd have a limited number of slots. And be detailed, because casual roleplays stress me out to the point that I actually cannot deal with it. I am physically incapable of writing posts that are less than two paragraphs long more than once a day. I ruminate too much.


Does anyone else have that problem or am I weird?
 
You are not weird, X. Or at least, not alone in your weirdness. Though admittedly I tend toward the Detailed RPs more because they tend to demand better grammar than others. And bad grammar, beyond your average typo, infuriates me to no end.

Lol well not much I can tell as I barely have anything recorded for it yet. Sooo much....


But! In what little I have told the interested players, in the span of a few weeks before I have even finished... there are already 3 confirmed plots. Each completely different from each other. Each interested player has game up with concepts for about three+ characters. If that gives you any sense of scale.


Also. I will be attempting to make it a hosted project.
 
@Red Thunder I cannot with the bad grammar. It just... I can't believe that they don't know how to write with proper grammar, because literacy is a basic skill and most people on this site are at LEAST in middle school. So that leaves the possibility that they just don't care about legibility which... ugh. I can understand not policing your capitalization and punctuation on an OOC, but on a CS or IC post? That's just straight-up disrespectful to people who then have to decode your blather. I was not that bad even when I was thirteen and roleplaying warrior cats on Neopets.


@KingHink that's pretty darn impressive. Must take a lot of planning!

wjoops, I messed that up. I have 3, Cloudy has 4. Right xD


Also I pretty much only get to new RP's by branching out of other ones so if anyone makes one please tell me xD

You have nooooo idea @_@ completely overwhelmed. I got years of content to write out and explain. I got a total of 5 people staffing the project. Including our beloved Cloudy and Vi.
 
Welp, once I get back on the site, I'll need to see about joining that.


Ah, right. News. Sorry, fellas, but here in about a month I'm going to have to drop the site until mid-December due to work. Going into law enforcement, so I've got a training academy to go through.
