Between Two Hateful Sides (Telios x Ene Kagerou)

"H-Huh?..... What....?" Takins reached his hands to his head as he felt a twitch up there and he touched something... Long and soft... Like bunny ears? "Did you change me?" Takios asked, looking at Star with curious eyes while sitting up and touching his new black rabbit ears.

Star nodded, rubbing her eyes. "Because Takios was dying, so Star needed to save him and hospitals were too far away and She doesn't have healing powers." She looked at him, her face red and wet with tears. "But now, Takios is alive, so Star will take anger if he is angry about being Yugen."
 
"..... N-Nah... I'm not angry at you. Just grateful now that you saved my life. Seems that I'm is debt to Yugens again." Takios shook his head, smilng before standing up and looked at Star. "And now I have a lot to ask you and the others." Takios added with a smile before walking back to the mansion since he couldn't go anywhere without being noticed as a Yugen.
 
Star followed him back, rubbing her tears away. He wasn't mad? He was always so kind, and generous and understanding. As soon as they got back, the others were waiting for them. "Welcome back, Takios and St-" Leah was about to say, but fell silent when she saw his ears. The rest of them were silent as well, until Odeus spoke. "For what reason did Star have to change Takios? After he was so generous to the family?"


"He died!"


"Takios, Is this true? What happened to him?"
 
"Y-Yes... Unfortunately..." Takios answered hesitantly as he scratched his head, unintentionally over his black long ears.
 
"Then Star has done okay. She has not done well, but she has not done bad," Odeus sighed, "Star needs to find other ways to save lives, rather than sharing her curse with others, especially those who have only helped us, not harmed us."


Stars ears flattened against her head as she frowned and said, "Star is sorry."
 
"It's alright... Actually, it feels great being a Yugen." Takios smiled, his hands behind his head.
 
"Takios says that now, but he has not yet known the horrors it brings as a Yugen," Odeus said to him, "Every night is not a dream, but a conversation to the demon inside you. Everyday a Yugen must be careful not to be hateful towards others, or they receive physical and mental pain from their demon."
 
"But there are good things too. Just like being human comes with good and bad," Odeus said. "A yugen's life is much longer than a human's. Normal humans only last about 100 years or so, but Yugens have lives that last hundreds of years. Every Yugen has powers of sorts, though some find that powers can be good and bad. Does Takios understand?"
 
Star looked at Takios and at Odeus as they talked. She was simply happy that he was beginning to understand. "In the meantime," Odeus said," Takios will probably have to learn how to use and control his powers, starting tomorrow morning. Odeus is sure that the demon wants to speak to his new master."
 
".....I-I guess... O-Oh... It's dinner time already... I'll make dinner." Takios said as he walked to the kitchen.
 
"I'll help!" Star said.


"No, Odeus need to talk to Star," Odeus said, grabbing her wrist before she could follow him. Star frowned, knowing what lecture was to come. So instead Leah ran into the kitchen after Takios, saying, "Leah will help instead!"
 
"So," Leah said, inconsiderately, "How DID Takios die?" She was simply curious, and she was usually rather blunt.
 
"I don't quite remember well... I think I was shot at by a robber and he took my wallet..." Takios scratched his head and unintentionally over his long ears again.
 
"Really? That's terrible!" Leah said, "But doesn't Takios want his wallet back? Leah could get it for Takios!"
 
"You will see." Tokais grinned and wakled into the kitchen. He put on his apron and quickly prepared the dish with Leah as he asked her to get things for him.
 
Leah had a bit of trouble getting the right things at first, but after awhile, she got the hang of it. "So now we eat it?" She asked, after he had seemed to have put everything he needed in the pan.
 
"We will have to cook it first. So please wait for a bit. It'll be done soon." Takios smiled, putting the pan into the oven.
