Believe, Believe, the Dragonborn Comes (Closed)

I am the favorite #confirmed
The Breton watched as the wagon crept by Whiterun, filled with war criminals. Her town had remained neutral in the war thus far, but she always had Imperial sympathies. Though her faction was long gone, she still held many of their beliefs. The Impeirum, for all its faults, was certainly better than the Stormcloaks. At least they weren't as racist as Ulfric's army. But, she would not trouble herself with politics today. She would leave that up to the two resident families who were constantly warring over which side was better. She was glad her husband wasn't very political. Noita wasn't sure if she could handle him arguing with Vilkas all day. Well, more than he normally did.

With a sigh, the mage turned away from the carriage as it went out of sight. They were likely going to Helgen, where they would all be executed. The Breton never understood the entertainment of watching such things. She lifted up her basket full of alchemical plants, and continued on her way back to Whiterun.

Struggling in her bounds, a young Nord sat in the carriage. Israia shook her head and cursed under her breath. Had she been smarter, she would have already made it into Cyrodill and into the Imperial City and not been caught by the border guards. The wind tangled her long dark blonde hair as the cart rode on towards Helgen, causing her vision to be slightly obstructed, only causing her to get even more frustrated with the situation.

She listened on as the other prisoners, namely a storm cloak and a man who attempted to flee to Hammerfell began to argue. Death couldn't come soon for Israia, and now all she wanted was just to be put out of her misery. Escaping wouldn't work this time, she knew that, and decided to not think about it for the time being.

Noita nodded to the guards as they let her into the city and headed for the Temple of Kynareth. She would drop off her supplies, and then go see if Farkas and the other Companions had returned from their latest quest yet. If they had, they may already be in the temple. They had gone to hunt some of the Silverhand, so they were likely a little banged up.

----

The wagon stopped and the prisoners were called forward. One attempted to escape, and the other was Ulfric Stormcloak himself. If everyone weren't about to be executed, then the sight would be impressive. But instead, he was bound by ropes and gagged. Despite this state, he held his head high and his back was straight. He would face death with dignity, even if it was to this Imperial scum. His people would honor him, and keep fighting.

"Wait," said the man calling names, indicating the Nordic woman. "You there, step forward. Who are you?"

In fact, the companions did make it back to Whiterun just before the Breton had made it back. Aela, Farkas, Vilkas, and a few other members of the companions had been in the shrine. It was nothing serious, just a braw with a giant that had left some bruised up. The various members also knew that if anyone, the Priests would know just the thing to help them.

----

Israia knew that these Imperials were nothing but trouble, however they seemed far better than the Stormcloaks. Unlike them, the Imperials had a slight idea what they were doing. She attempted to duck behind a taller person to hide but she knew that it was too late. Causiouly, she stepped forward and avoided eye contact with the man.

"Israia Shining-Shield." She said, in a less than eager tone of voice. "I'm just a petty theif."

She walked into the building and her eyes immediately found Farkas. "You're back!"

Noita set her basket down on the nearest table and rushed over to her husband. His arms were already open wide and quickly wrapped around her in a crushing hug. She pulled back just enough to plant a quick kiss on his lips, which elicited - ironically - wolf whistles from the other Companions.

"We've been married for five years, and why they still find the need to do that is beyond me," she said, just loud enough for her extended family to hear. "Now, let me get a look at you."

Though they once spurned most magic, since the Breton and the Nord had married, the Companions had more than warmed up to the idea. They accepted their sister-in-law and the healing abilities she brought to them. Now, they willing went to have their injuries magically fixed. Except for Vilkas. He still took some convincing from Kodlak.

--------

"You picked a bad time to come home to Skyrim, kinsmen," he said solemnly. He turned to the woman behind him. "Captain, what should we do? She's not on the list."

The woman showed no change in emotion. "Forget the list. She goes to the block."

"By your orders, Captain," he replied. When he turned back to Israia, he had the decency to look sad. "I'm sorry. At least you'll die here, in your homeland. Follow the Captain, prisoner."

As their eyes met, the Nord's smile grew. He moved quickly towards her, meeting her embrace and kids. He always made sure not to squeeze her too tight, he wouldn't want to snap his wife in half. "Hello my, love." He placed a kiss on her forehead.

As they broke apart, he flashed a quick glanced to his Shield-siblings, although they did not catch the hint right away. "Their children, Dear." He gave her some room to let her see his cuts and bruises. "I'm not too badly banged up, but I could use a spell or too." Farkas flashed a smirk to Vilkas "Unlike my stick in the mud brother."

----

Israia didn't make a sound, she knew it was too late for any arguments. She knew there was no way to get out, if she were to run the archers would strike her down just as easily as they did the horse theif who tried to run.

As the few Stormcloaks went to the block she finally heard the words that would haunt her.

"Next, the Nord in rags." Eyes were all over her, she walked by the crowd and went to the block. She flashed a hopeless frown at the knight Captain. She kneeled and placed her neck out on the block. Israia took a deep breath and closed her eyes.

Vilkas looked up from fending off a healer to glare at his brother. "Shove it up your arse, Farkas."

Under her breath, Noita told Vilkas what he could shove up his arse before setting to work on the werewolf in front of her. Unsurprisingly, she was just about the only one that he would let heal him. It wasn't that he didn't trust the others, he just had a preference for her and her magic. Familiarity was good when facing any situation.

----

Just as the executioner raised his ax, something that had not happened in many years occurred. As everyone began shouting, a great black dragon landed on the nearby tower. The ground shook upon his impact. Everyone with a weapon drew theirs, but it was pointless. The dragon open his maw and Shouted, knocking everyone to the ground.

In the confusion and chaos, many of the prisoners started to run. One of them, the one who had introduced himself as Ralof on the wagon, shouted at Israia. "Kinsmen, get up! Come on, the gods won't give us another chance!"

Farkas scoffed. He always found it amusing when his wife would play Vilkas at his own game, it was funny to see his brother out of words or comebacks and simply just left with his mouth shut.

The Nord caught a glance at his wife preparing for the healing process, a warm smile planted on his face.

----

Her eyes were squeezed shut, she was ready to just die until he heard screams. When Israia caught glances of the large beast, her eyes widened. After it roared she stumbled to get feet. Her head pounded, and everything around her was left on flames.

Israia stumbled to her feet, she was disoriented and shook her head. After hearing the familiar voice, she cocked her head to see Ralof. Israia nodded and followed.

Sometimes Noita wished that she and her brother-in-law would get along. It would make things much simpler. But, she also didn't like him as much as she should, which made getting along difficult. But they tolerated each other for Farkas' sake, and they both knew how much he meant to the other.

The mage began inspecting the werewolf's injuries. She quickly figured that it would only take a moment before he was completely healed. After locating his more serious wounds, she waved her hands over him, emitting the golden light of restoration magic. Within moments, he was completely healed. Some had scarred over, but nothing very noticeable.

"There. All better."

----

Ralof took off for the other nearby tower that did not currently have a dragon on top of it. When he opened the door, there were several Stormcloaks already in there. Some were injured and lay bleeding on the floor. Others were tending to them or trying to figure out just what the hell was going on. One of those people was Ulfric Stormcloak himself.

He stood still as she preformed her magic. Farkas felt the warm ribbons of magic twirl around his body, he watched them until the dissolved and fadded. Quickly, he looked at where his major injuries once were to only find small scars or nothing at all.

With a large grin, he swooped his wife up in his arms. Showering her with kisses on her cheeks. "Thank you, Love." He placed her down.

"Easy there, Shield-Brother." Aela chimed in. "You wouldn't to squeeze her to death."

-----

In a mad dash, Israia rushed to the tower that was filled entirely of Stormcloaks. When it was safe, she caught her breath, heavy pants escaping her mouth. Taking time to look around she quickly took note of Ulfric and many other soldiers.

"What in Oblivion is going on?" She said, irritated and confused.

She laughed as he covered her in kisses, his stubble tickling her skin. It took everything in her not to tell him "down, boy." When he set her down, she smiled at him and squeezed his hand.

"Don't worry, Aela, she's tougher than she looks. I mean, she has to be to train the Dragonborn, right?" Vilkas said. His tone didn't indicate any hidden meaning in his words, but Noita knew they were there.

Many doubted her claims that she had been blessed by the Nine for this purpose. She sometimes even wondered if Farkas questioned her and only tolerated her "mad ramblings" because he loved her. She had rarely mentioned her quest not too long after arriving in Whiterun because she knew that others would mock her. That was a lesson she had learned very early on. But she had trusted her new family with this information, and they had been willing to accept her beliefs. For the most part, anyway. When those like Vilkas made comments or whispered behind her back when they thought she wasn't listening, she simply ignored them. She knew her mission and would not let anyone deter her. She would show them when the Dragonborn came.

-----

No one paid her any mind. They were too busy trying to regroup and tend to the wounded.

"Jarl Ulfric, what is that thing?" Ralof asked. There was fear in his voice as he continued. "Could the legends be true?"

The man looked over and said with a serious tone, "Legends don't burn down villages."

Not a moment later, the dragon roared viciously. The sound shook the very tower they were hiding in. It was right outside.

"We need to move, now!" Ralof shouted.

Aela shot a quick look to Vilkas. She knew that he was always sceptical when it came to these find of matters, but sometimes it would be best for him to not be so sudden.

Her expression softened up. "And let's not forget,Vilkas, she is also strong from dealing with all of us on a day to day basis." She smirked, and recieving a small smile from Farkas.

----

Israia kept looking back and forth from the various Stormcloaks and Ulfric himself. Every so often, looking behind her at the destruction outside. At the sound of the dragon moving closer to them she nearly screamed.

Following Ralof up the steps, Israia quickly made sure to keep up with him. When their path was separated by rubble after the large black dragon broke through the wall, she kept on running. She ran until she came to an opening where she had no choice but to jump onto the roof of the crumbling house outside. After making it to the ground, Israia looked around and followed the voice of the soldier who asked for her name when she arrived.

"That's not my fault," he replied offhandedly.

"Regardless, why don't we finish up here and head home," Noita said, ready to have this discussion over with. "I'm sure Kodlak is waiting for all of you and it's nearly time for dinner."

----

He led the prisoner through the town, flames flickering all around them. Heat seared their skin and ashes filled their lungs. The town was burning down around them and all they could do was run. Eventually, they came to the Keep, where the soldier and the warrior began arguing with one another. It was clear they knew each other. Friends perhaps, before war torn them apart. They both called to Israia, telling her to follow them. It was her choice now whether she followed the Stormcloak or the Imperial soldier.

"I agree." Aela said. "I don't know about all of you, but I for one am starving." She walked out the door, Vilkas and the others following her out, all but Farkas, who stayed one more moment to give his wife a hug and a kiss.

"Were you coming along? Or were you going back to the temple?"

----

She looked back and forth between the two of them, Israia hated the Stormcloaks but he had been very helpful to her, however the Imperials were a safer option in her mind, even though they were the ones who wanted to execute her. Without looking back, she followed the Imperial soldier into the keep of Helgen. She ran into the door as she watched the dragon swoop over head, when the two got inside, the door was slammed shut. Once inside, Israia was given an iron sword and a set of armor as the soldier and herself made their way to escape Helgen.

"I believe dinner will do me well. I have been tending to the wounded all day and it has taxed me." She took her husband's hand before quickly calling out to the others, "I will see you all tomorrow."

After receiving farewells from her friends and coworkers, Noita followed the Companions to Jorrvaskr for dinner and eventually some rest.

----

After a brief battle with the Stormcloaks, the two made their way through the keep. They took what supplies they could, saving the torturer and his assistant along the way. They were once again met with a group of Stormcloaks who blocked the path out. There were some Imperial soldiers fighting them as well, so they were not entirely outmatched.

<p>

"I think so too, and besides, you can't resist dinner in Jorrvasker." Farkas laughed, and held her hand in his own. He then led her out of the temple. The priests all waved to Noita and Farkas as the walked out of the temple. They knew how serious Noira took her position in the temple, and they all liked to see her take time for herself. ----- They didn't talk much as they made their way through the Helgan keep. Every so often they would run into rouge Stormcloaks abs after taking them down they would move on. After running into more people in the keep, the two helped them out. When it was safe, Israia glanced around. She was confused as to why there would still be people around the room. "Why are you people still here? Helgen is being destroyed, you need to get out of here!"
